Crush

Akro Crush opens like the air that hits you when you open an oven that's done baking pink and white macaron shells made from powdery almond flour. It smells dry and crackled, but soft like the shells. The chewy, not necessarily jammy, filling for the pink shells is a sweet rose-water lychee. While the white shells get a chewy white chocolate. The perfumer Cresp stated how long it took to get the materials to create that chocolate scent in here and it is very apparent, simultaneously existing with the almond, rose and lychee. The smell continues as an entire tray of macarons cooled and filled, then dried down to a very subtly sweet praline and rose. This is truly not overly gourmand or sickeningly sticky. The opening was a bit too almond powdery for me but not necessarily overly nutty, thank goodness. But the chewy texture of the rose filling and praline redeems it from an okay to a like. If the praline continues to praline and appear sooner as the juice matures, this might be a love. It's a nice, girly, comforting scent that has moderate soft projection and still goes strong 5-6 hours later. I prefer wearing indoors because that's when it's most chewy and sweet. The rose sometimes becomes sour and sharp wearing it outside when cool, unless sprayed on top of a vanilla/caramel dominant fragrance. Never smelled the others but Indult Manakara being compared is interesting, because I actually find the long opening to be very strange. Reviewers in the past used to describe it as a sweet powdery rose, leaving out the major weird synthetic aspect of it. It's more like sweet, jammy rose that's also weirdly dewy with a strange synthetic blast of balloon air, tire air, or any air inside some rubber inflatable. I don't think it's similar to Crush, which is a safe buy and more natural smelling. Some may not like how safe or powdery, at least in the opening, it is though. I do think the powder accord is so balanced with the other notes and actually entire fragrance is growing on me the longer I have it.

I am a self-confessed rose hater. I really, really detest rose-forward fragrances like Delina. But Crush is definitely not Delina. Not even comparable to Delina Exclusif. It is its very own unique composition, and an impressive one at that. I didn’t like this at first. It smelled too sharp, too synthetic, and too rosey. I was ready to give this up, but thankfully I didn’t because Crush really grew on me. It starts off with a juicy, mouthwatering burst of lychee. Then after a few seconds, I’m getting the very impressive interpretation of macaron with some powderiness to it. It’s not a baby powder or cosmetics type of powder, but more on the texture. Olivier Cresp really nailed the experience of biting into a perfectly-baked macaron. Imagine the crisp outer shell, gooey center and that sweet cream filling and that, to me, is very impressive. I can totally smell the rose here, but it’s more of a rose-flavored dessert rather than the actual flower. As the scent progresses, I can still smell the rose-laden confectionary but it’s now tinged and made more indulgent with that warm-smelling vanilla and the nuttiness from the praline. Despite the scent profile, it has a whipped airiness to it that perfectly balances all the indulgent notes. It’s not too cloyingly sweet and even though it has a certain playfulness to it, there is also a sense of grown-up and womanly elegance and refinement. This is a love for me!

Much to my delightful surprise this is reminding me of LDBS extreme. While the original LDBS has orange blossom the extreme version has bulgarian rose instead, as does this. The opening is a bit challenging as others noted but with a little patience it indeed softens into a powdery rose, not the lipstick iris makeup powdery rose. This is a delicious powdery marshmallow LDBS type of rose. I realize reviews are all over the place with this but that is exactly what I get. The playful rose macaron I was expecting isn't quite what I smell at all but I love it. There is a muskiness in the base, similar to LDBS, that makes this lean more sophisticated. I don't get fruit at all personally, just musky, marshmallow powdered rose. Let me emphasize that I am NOT saying this is LDBS. I saw someone compare it to Devotion and my nose doesn't get that whatsoever so your interpretation may vary BUT if you like the LDBS extreme version with the same rose as this, you may want a sample. Considering how much cheaper Akro is than Killians its a win win for me!

Like most of my absolute favorite fragrances, my relationship with Crush by Akro started off on shaky footing. I didn't "get" it at first and immediately wrote it off as another boring rose gourmand riding off the Delina hype (it smells nothing like Delina btw). But something drew me in, and then I had an "aha!" moment and realized Crush smells EXACTLY like a Dubai chocolate bar made with dried rose petals and white chocolate. Rich, creamy, decadent but not overdone or too sweet-the way I like my desserts. I understand where the comparison to Lattafa's Noble Blush is coming from, but Noble Blush is a cute, sugary cheap thrill, like a $5 drug store chocolate vs an artisan white chocolate and rose truffle from the finest Parisian confiserie. This is neither a youthful nor mature rose, I can see all ages wearing this beauty. I bought the biggest bottle and it was so worth it because I have to stop myself from wearing this every day.

this is absolutely gorgeous! when I first sprayed this I only got rose but after a few times testing it, the praline and vanilla has really come out. the roastiness of the almond adds a great warm depth to this perfume and levels out the rose to make it less "heady" like a lot of other rose-lychee perfumes. speaking of lychee- I don't get any of that in this, which I was really hoping for but then again Akro blends their fragrances so seamlessly so I'm sure that note is lurking in here somewhere, I just can't find it personally. Overall, this is a great creamy, realistic rose macaron that is so warm and delightful! it'd be great year-round as well which is always a plus. It lasted on my skin for around 2 hours and on my clothes all day, I love getting whiffs of this one!

This one took awhile to grow on me; at first I found something slightly off-putting, synthetic I wasn't sure about ...it was an *almost like the first few wears. But, as I've continued to use my sample, this has grown on me considerably and now I'm getting more of the lovely vanilla, pink rosiness and an impressively accurate chewy macaroon texture that showcases Olivier Cresp's incredible talent! I think this would layer incredibly with Bake (my favorite of the house so far), but definitely stands on its own. This is a happy, very girly, pink, mood lifting scent and now I REALLY want a bottle - and even though I don't consider myself 'girly' whatsoever, I adore the PINK bottle!! This is a love!!

This smells exactly like what I would want Delina to smell like. For some reason I could never seem to fall in love with Delina as it was always missing something warm (solely based on my expectations and the idea and aesthetics built around Delina). I was surprised by Crush and fell in love with it instantly; I want to keep on sniffing myself all day! As for the season, I would say it is a pretty universal feminine perfume as long as you like smelling like a delicious pastry. The smell is not overly cloying for summer and I can see it being warn all day, especially in the evening for a romantic stroll with your crush ;)

when i first sampled this, i hated it. the almond and lychee were cloying to almost a violating degree. now, almost 3 weeks later, i absolutely love it. i hadn’t planned on picking it up again, but i decided to give it another go, and i’m glad i did. beautiful jammy rose with the perfect amount of praline. the dry down is slightly reminiscent to kayali marshmallow 81, the rose somehow reminding me of the strawberry note. one of the very few fragrances my husband has gone out of his way to comment that i smell good. tldr; if you hate the initial spray, just give it some time

I normally really don't like sweet rose, sometimes dusty, powdery, Bulgarian rose can be interesting. I'm not a fan of Delina, I really dislike Rose of no man's land and that kind of stuff. But I LOVE this one, it is nothing like other rose perfumes to me. It is so gourmand, so powdery and dreamy, girly and potent, like when the clouds in the sky look like cotton candy and the sun is setting. It's my new signature and it can surely fix failed experiments with a floral perfume if you spray it on top. 🌸💓🌷🍰🍦

Finally received my bottle. I was nervous, as the ratings were not the best for this fragrance....But OMG it smells so GOOD!!! It’s definitely a soft, soapy, creamy, blush pink rose all the way through. There is a yummy, nutty gourmand note as well. It’s not heavy or cloying and can be worn all seasons, except maybe the high heat of Summer. So pretty. A tiny bit fruity. It reminds me of that candle by Bath & Body Works ..Pink Petal Tea Cake. The bottle color matches the smell of the juice. Just beautiful!

Just had this sprayed on me by Olivier Cresp at an Akro product showcase and it's absolutely gorgeous. Very sweet almond for the first fifteen minutes and then it's a delicious rosy vanilla base, somewhat similar to the structure and base notes of Bake minus the citrus. Much more subtle and better balanced than stuff like roses vanille and has excellent projection and longevity. Still sniffing obsessively after 6 hours. I will be buying as soon as it's released as a fun effervescent girly gourmand.

A beautiful, high-quality composition. Sweet almonds provide a captivating opening, followed by a candied, almost syrupy rose unfolding at the heart. The fragrance is thoroughly indulgent and long-lasting, with a restrained, well-balanced sillage. Akro Crush pairs beautifully with Akro Dark, the two forming complementary opposites to be worn interchangeably—one when you wish to be wrapped in a veil of fairytale light, the other when drawn to a dense, mouth-watering layer of dark gourmand richness.

Sugared rose petals mixed with pastel Jordan Almond candies. A touch of salted buttery vanilla, almost popcorn scent.. that's exactly what I get from my first spray. Not overly bakery, as some might expect. The drydown is gorgeous vanilla rose.. Romantic and intoxicating, without being cloying. It is a bit pricey, but worth it, imo. Ageless... And a great performer, lasts forever on clothes.. Already purchased.

This perfume reminds me of what I imagined magic was as a child. There's an innocence and enchanting element to this blend that makes me just smile. It's a very sweet scent and my fiance said it smells like baby powder (he thinks most rose/floral notes are old smelling). This is the first niche fragrance I purchased a full bottle of within a week of smelling the sample I ordered. It's so addictive.

I really like it, but a couple things to keep in mind: to me it has a strong hand lotion vibe, and underneath there’s that rose macaron kind of scent. It doesn’t last very long on me, but I still enjoy it — it’s pretty unique in my opinion. Also, this doesn’t smell like Love Don’t Be Shy by Killian @VanillaBubbleBunny. If you’re after a dupe for that, try “Fakhama” by Maison Asrar.

I LOVE it! It opens rosy and almondy like stepping into my kitchen after making rose macarons . This is confectionery and pink hued. Pillowy soft with great sillage. After some hours the almond fades and is creamy rose that does smell a bit like Noble Rose by Lataffa but this is so much more nuanced where Noble Rose is a creamy lotiony rose.

Ok, so I just sprayed it, so the review is to be updated, but for now it is niceeeeee. It starts more juicy, with a lychee, and then I can smell this almond flour powder-iness sort of, mixing with rose and vanilla. When I close my eyes I kinda want to bite myself because of that. This is rather uncomplicated scent and I like it.

Starts with a rose macaron with lychee sauce and by time the sauce is gone. You are left with sweet rose macarons: nutty, (not sickly) sweet rose. I agree with the user below, this is what I wanted Delina to smell like. Soft, delicate gourmand

it's very rememberable scent, elegant but still youthful

Sampling Akro Crush, a 2025 release that is (as of now) the house’s most recent offering, I believe, a fittingly floral offering that is also mostly a gourmand, with listed notes of Bulgarian rose, lychee, almond, praline/hazelnut, and vanilla. It’s fittingly a rose gourmand blend, not so much a jammy rose, but a creamy, nutty, sweet rose that nonetheless has some of the powdery fresh rose qualities, not too dark. As it dries down, the rose becomes relatively less pronounced and the gourmand elements take over, and though the projection fades predictably, there’s still a good wholeness and density to it, even as it sits a little closer to the skin. Overall, very nice, even if not quite among my very favorite few of the house. Nice to see a rose mixed to the brand’s increasingly diverse and interesting catalogue. Unlike most of the line in EDP concentration, Crush is extrait concentration, priced retail $210/105 for 100/30ml, sold in the US via the house website and great boutiques like Perfumology. 7 out of 10

I have an history of buying perfume for the originality or or "unusual" it is. Like buying a dandelion fragrance, or with notes of hay and petrichor .. etc. But, sometimes, especially these days, I just want something not overly complicated but of good quality that makes me feel pretty. This one checks all the boxes. Bonus point for the relatively affordable price of the 30ml bottle. Those comparing this one to Noble Blush I'm not sure what you're talking about. Noble blush is mostly sweet and extremely strong with some strong chemical note that will never disappear. This one has some freshness from litchi and rose that stays on my skin all the time. I think it's well made, I can smell the litchi, rose, on some gourmand background but not overly sweet. You're not gonna kill your coworkers if you spray twice in your hair before going to work. Very feminine and nice, better than the alternatives on the market and more discrete than Delina. A good blind buy for lovers or sweet rose fragrance.

I got my 30ml bottle on Friday and tested in four times before writing the review,just to be sure. The opening is a little unbalanced for me because the litchi and almond don ́mix wery well IMO.After that rather awkward start it gets better because the rose comes through...at this moment closing my eyes and smelling it I could swear it is a Kayali fragrance because it is uncomplicated, feminine and pretty in a youthful way.The rose-praline combo is gourmand sweet, but not tooth achingly so and the dry down is a yummy vanilla dessert. All in all, it is a safe blind-buy, especially if you go for the 30ml bottle (and even better if you get it with a discount code like I did) because it is a no-brainer, appropriate for every occasion and almost every season (maybe not high summer).It is a nice, inoffensive fragrance with at best moderate projection but good longevity

Crush is a feminine, sweet, and easy-to-wear fragrance, though a bit softer than anticipated. It exudes a mellow, pillowy, delicate, and office-appropriate aura, making it an ideal choice for spring mornings or soft summer days. It is sweet and vanilla-rich, yet also airy and light, and never cloying. The sillage is minimal, remaining close to the skin, and the longevity on my skin is approximately 4 hours. Crush reminds me of Zafeer Oud Vanille by Alexandre J. in its sweetness, and it also shares similarities with Love Don’t Be Shy Extreme (the extreme version uses Bulgarian rose instead of Orange Blossom). Mademoiselle Rochas, on the other hand, is more punchy, uplifting, and youthful. I'd give it a solid 7/10—pretty, comforting, and perfect for rose and vanilla lovers who like their gourmands smooth, not sticky.

Crush surprised me in the best way. I expected something very sweet and almost childish, but on my skin it feels much softer and more refined. The almond is the most beautiful part for me, it's creamy, slightly powdery, almost like almond milk rather than marzipan. There is a delicate lactonic feeling running through the fragrance, which makes it feel smooth, comforting and addictive without becoming heavy. Sweet, yes, but not loud. Feminine, cozy, and very easy to wear.

The opening of this is so unpleasant on me - sharp, chemical hairspray - and made me quite nauseous. But after about five mins it's giving Bake (which I have and love) but better. Sugary soft almond praline with only the slightest hint of rose. Really torn on this one - don't know if I can suffer through the first five mins for the sake of the dry down, but I'm going to stick with my sample and see if I can get used to it. If I can, I'm definitely buying a bottle.

I get pink lemonade in the opening, then immediately it settles in to a gourmand powdery rose. I think the praline and vanilla are helping the rose making it sweeter. Nothing synthetic, which i'm happy about. I really like this except for the performance. If you don't get along with rose but want it in your collection, this might be the one. It's almost edible. It's reminding me of Montale Bubble Forever, except that one has better projection and less rose.

I almost hate to admit that I like this one—a fat Bulgarian rose marinated in a sugar cookie batter—but I do. It’s very heavy and sweet. The only crime committed by the perfumer is that it has been done many times before. I get it. I understand why he created Crush. This is the crowd pleasing, big money maker perfume. Albeit a generic sweet gourmand rose; you also can’t blame the company for going here. Would I wear it again. Yes I would.

The very first breath takes me back to childhood. Growing up in a Persian home, certain scents are etched into memory like pistachio, rosewater, and saffron. This fragrance awakens one particular recollection instantly. I'm reminded of the rosewater Turkish delights I once savored as a child. As it settles, it shifts to a delicate rose macaron. I'm delighted by this fragrance being both nostalgic and delectable!

Love love the opening. I'm not a big fan of almonds but they come across very natural and airy here. I also get a lot of cacao, even tho it's not listen. The drydown tho... I don't love so much. The rose is a bit too soapy for me and it looses a bit of its fluffyness. Somehow it reminds me of the dry down of devotions, even tho they don't really share any notes.

Starts very delectable, like a glass of pink lemonade on a hot summer day and yummy rose macaron somewhere in posh Paris caffe. Wish it stayed that way but soon it transforms into rose scented body lotion. It's elegant, even a little old school scent (in a good way) but I was hoping for more of a gourmand. Also for an extrait it has rather modest projection.

I've only tested this on card. The opening is spectacular, not what I expected. It's not sweet, more dusty, like macaron crumbs, very dry, and for now I love it. But then it loses the unique crumbly texture and becomes a generic smelling rosey gourmand scent. This happens within minutes. It's a shame it couldn't stay as it opened for longer.

A chewy and very gently sweet vanilla rose. Very slightly plasticky in a nice way. The almond is incredibly well blended. This is a beautiful rose scent - I would consider it a photorealistic rose macaron, like you've stuck your nose in the pastry box! This projects SO well and the lasting power is incredible at 12+ hours.

I ordered a sample of this intrigued by the notes, but also a little wary -- would they be too cloying, too juvenile, too sickly sweet? I was pleasantly surprised. It's a gourmand with a mature, elegant twist that keeps it from feeling too young, and I could see it working really well for a date night.

As someone usually not a fan of rose notes, this one is surprisingly charming and addictive. Current springtime gourmand favorite. Opening is quite sharp with prominent litchi, but the dry down is very smooth. Sweet, delightful, inoffensive 🪷 Feminine like a macaroni 💮 went for a full bottle.

Not a huge fan of Akro, but I find this one lovely, I genuinely do not get the hate it really smells like rose macaron it's sparkly and juicy and powdery at the same time it's sweet but not cloying - litchi kind of sweetness, I don't get overdose of caramel

Very cutesy, fluffy vanilla and jammy rose! There is a powdery-ness that reminds me of violets, interesting that I don't see it listed in the pyramid of notes. Could be from the almond. I like it but not enough to want a full bottle (yet.)

I was a bit disappointed on first sniff as I expected a very gourmand macaroon scent. What I get is a rose scented Nivea lotion. But it’s so beautiful in its own way. Soothing and romantic.

To me this is a simple rose perfume. Pretty and feminine. I wouldn’t call it fresh it’s more mellow, not powdery but definitely not sparkly. Nothing offensive or challenging here.

like an adult version of a candy, gourmand perfume. not too sweet, not too childish, not smelling like plastic. i smell the rose, it smells a bit candied, sweet, playful.

Nobile Blush? Manakara? The reminds me of section isn't relevant, and that's a shame. This is a lighter rose than I had anticipated and like another reviewer stated it's a bit discordant. With all those rich notes having the rose be a very light pink, with a bit of that Bulgarian sour rose was a let down for me. It's more of a watercolor perfume with the sweet notes very diffuse and wearable. At first spray you get the pastry note, glossy and lightly sweet. But the very fresh pink rose wins out fairly soon. Those that like a lightly sweet rosewater will appreciate this. There must be aroma chemicals that I just can't smell bc in no way do I get toffee or praline. I had hoped for more bc I love rose but this not a negative review, my expectations were just different than what I smelled. Akro is a perfume house that uses aroma chemicals liberally, you might want to sample first. Luckyscent has the official Akro sample for a very reasonable $5 or $6 and they have a free shipping no minimum on any purchase code on their website - making this an easy to avoid blind buy disappointment.

Sorry to say, this is my grandma's Yardley's rose bar soap in perfume form. It's a bold spicy and old-school rose that hangs around. So if you're into young or fresh rose, this won't be your thing. The almond and lychee are a nice touch, sadly appear only in the first 10 mins giving it photorialistic Pierre Herme's Ispahan macaron, made of rose water, raspberry and lychee and white chocolate. IMO it underperforms as an 'extrait' in projection and longevity, and is not unisex.

Smells like the sugary powder left in the box of a Rose Loukoum, powdery, airy, very sweet and perfumed. It later becomes a bit more similar to a rose/lavender detergent soap. It doesn't smell entirely edible, not fully a gourmand. Lasts much longer on paper than on my skin, the scents don't differ much on me, however, the longevity is substantially reduced on my skin.

Like biting into a macaron, simple as that. Super super super sweet, lots of vanilla and almond. It's a very well-done, pleasant fragrance but I wouldn't want to smell like a bakery all day. It would be a nice first fragrance or a gift to a young girl. For me, it's too sweet, too lovely, too child-like, too innocent. It's a pre-teen crush.

This not what I envisioned from the notes😕 I’m sorry,,but it’s awful and I thank the Lord I only bought a decant. Its powdery rose reminiscent of teint de neige musk. 😖 I will however give it a few more tries,,,who knows?... It might grow on me...stranger things have happened.

I feel like this is just okay? It's nice, simple and feminine. we've seen this combination before so it's not groundbreaking but it's a nice fragrance overall. Not too strong either, not sure this leaves a strong sillage. Thankfully as an extrait, it should last long.
