Al Haramain Oudh Patchouli

a very mystic, sublime fragrance, it's a dark, heavy, and deep mix of patchouli and oud wood; vanilla and black musk play their part in the background and a kind of woodiness still can be perceived in the dry down; the whole composition is just enchanting, an opulent smell for those that have the appreciation for the unique and distinctive scent of a very different EDP with an alluring and intriguing aroma ............ this fragrance is not for everybody, neither for those new boys that love taking a shower with girly-sugary-sweet and feminine perfumes; this fragrance is a serious one, for mature and self-confident alpha males who are not looking for compliments and are not afraid of showing their strong character and solid personality; you need a good pair of balls to pull off this fragrance; Oudh Patchouli EDP makes you stand out as the only wolf in the room; do not let the opening of the fragrance put you off, as it can be very heavy and strong at first spray, let it dry, let it mature on your skin and clothing; give it time to mix with your body chemistry and you are going to have a surprise in how wonderful and magnificent this fragrance dries in a evocative woody-spicy base and the sublime dusty patchouli takes charge once it settles down on your skin and shirt, the scent is so sublime that you are not going to believe it was the same strong and heavy fragrance you sprayed on your body ........ this is simply a magnificent and enchanting male fragrance.

Potent and unapologetic. Not flowery at the onset and no traces of anything citrus. That animalic note is very prominent in the opening reminiscent of wild cats marking their territory mixed with smoky wood. There's just a hint of sweetness but the opening is very bitter. As the perfume goes through its lifecycle, the sweetness becomes a bit more prominent but that bitterness (patchouli or leather???) is still there. 12 hours later, you can still smell this fragrance strongly and it has evolved from that harsh animalic, smoked leather patchouli to something slightly sweeter and softer. Don't blind buy this one - sample it, see how it changes and confirm whether it appeals to you. I loved it but my wife couldn't stand it and many people around you will feel the same. I'm thinking of a way to sneak it into the house and only wear it when she's not around. Edit: Just here to re-emphasise the performance of this monster. Snuck it into the house but waited for a solo trip to use it. Sprayed it on my clothes, spent around 12hrs travelling and could still smell it the next day. Washed my clothes, hung the items outside to dry and could still smell it when the clothes dried!!! Please spray responsibly!!!

It's unapologetically oud and leathery, it stays for good 3-4 hours. It has its own class and community, not for everyone. Good work on longevity by Al Haramain. Super value for money!! Just amazing!! It literally smells like Tuscan leather by Tom Ford may b better than it in terms of longevity.

This one is use for Arabic events its very strong i use drop or two on my hands and add oil on top making it steady on my neck . One if my favourite smells musky and dark this hint of vanilla 😋

Judging by the reviews of this fragrance both here and elsewhere, I was expecting a dark and smoky, woody and resinous punch from Oudh Patchouli. Something similar to the original Gucci Pour Homme, even though the review by Miguel Matos specifically points towards its comparisons with "vintage green leather chypres" like Robert Piguet's Bandit and "a musk that is reminiscent of the powdery warm note in Narciso Rodriguez". As a consequence, I was initially quite disappointed to be greeted by a sharp green note in the opening followed swiftly by gentle, powdery, wood and leather notes only slightly sweetened by wholesome patchouli. Where was the depth and the smoke? Why did it smell so generic, like something I have experienced before? It was Narciso Rodriguez for Him (including Intense and Musk), a bit of Jusbox Black Powder, but without any of the bright, fruit pastille notes, and a whole heap of Bandit. It was leather, patchouli, and definitely musk. It isn't generic, Al Haramain's Oud Patchouli just happens to be be composed of fragrance notes that I am already quite familiar with. The dry down takes place around 30-45 minutes after the first spray, and this is when you realise that Oudh Patchouli is by no means a deep, dark, and mysterious woody scent. It is actually quite soft and mossy, and could definitely be worn by a woman, unlike Narciso Rodriguez and even Jeroboam's Vespero, which I find to have a similar dry down, albeit much more intense and longer lasting; both of these are more masculine and fresh to my nose than Oud Patchouli. The earthy patchouli and leathery notes lend a powdery / chalky smokiness, and I get some wet earth coming through, but the soft musk and balmy amber keep this fragrance from becoming too sharp or dry, with the comforting vanilla rounding everything off just before the scent finally wears away after ten hours or so.
