Amber Oud Carbon Edition

PLEASE READ! PROBABLY THE MOST DETAILED REVIEW!! FINAL UPDATE: Direct comparison between Green Irish Tweed and Carbon Edition. Quick analogy to describe how they compare. GIT is Henry Cavill and Carbon is Matt Bomer (look them up if you don't know what they look like.) I'm sitting here with GIT on one hand and Carbon on the other for close to an hour. They smell EXTREMELY similar and in the air would probably be hard to tell apart (unless the person is a GIT snob). Now that I have smelled the OG, Carbon smells closer to GIT than Cool Water. GIT is sharper than Carbon from the outset, but i think Carbon is actually more smooth overall. I'd explain it like this, GIT has separation between its notes and Carbon just blends the same (similar smelling) notes together. Also Carbon has a very slight amber sweetness which i assume is what smooths it out. I'd say they smell like 80% similar when first sprayed, and get even closer as they dry down with Carbon being slightly sweeter. There's a definite difference between them. But anyone saying that Carbon smells nothing like GIT was obviously expecting a 1to1, didn't test on skin, is a GIT super fan, or is biased due to them spending money on the OG. I don't think this was meant to be a 1to1. I believe it was meant to take the essence of GIT and make it more mass appealing and wearable (similar to CW). And i feel they succeeded. Now for my final review. If you LOVE GIT and want that exact scent, then save up and get the OG. But if you enjoy that DNA and want something that smells extremely similar but is more mass appealing, get Carbon. GIT smells good, don't get me wrong. But i spent $55 on Carbon compared to $160 for GIT (lowest i saw). Truly i think most people (especially women) would prefer smelling Carbon over GIT as it is overall more mass appealing and smooth IMO. And for the record, I am not biased due to money as I could easily purchase GIT at full retail if I wanted (wife would kill me though lmao). But, for me at least, even if they did cost the same I'd actually buy Carbon over GIT. Carbon just smells better to my nose and feels more wearable. UPDATE: Performance - This legit performs really good! It's not a room filler, and maybe not a huge projector, but it definitely lasts! I was getting noticeable wafts up until 5hrs in. I could smell it as a distinguishable skin scent at 10hrs. But my wife commented that i smelled good after work when she hugged me and she got a waft from the wind while unloading the groceries. This was 10hrs after applying, i sprayed on neck and shirt. ORIGINAL: This scent is beautiful so far! I think it needs to macerate for a while as I am not getting strong projection as I've heard many people state so far. Two hours of wear as I write this and I can def still smell it though. I can not yet comment on how close it truly is to Green Irish Tweed as I have not officially smelled it. I went to smell it, but the store that had it only sprays it once a day in the cap (seeing it's so expensive). I will say that from what i could smell in the cap there is a DEFINITE similarity. But I will update soon as I have a friend who owns the original and will be bringing it in soon. Many reviews are saying that it smells like Cool Water (vintage supposedly). I will say that this is both true and untrue at the same time, at least compared to current Cool Water. Also keep in mind that Green Irish Tweed shares a very strong similarity to Cool Water (as it was made by the same perfumer. Call it a twist of GIT). My first thought was that it smelled just like Cool Water when i sprayed it too. But after spraying each on opposite arms, you smell a BIG difference. Carbon is much smoother and smells higher quality. If anything, as of now, I'd describe it as Cool Water if it was redone by a expensive designer (YSL, Dior, etc). I wouldn't call this a "blue" fragrance. I would describe it as turquoise, as it is blue/green at the same time. I would say that this could easily be a daily wear or signature scent. I think it will truly shine in spring/summer though but can be worn year round and not feel out of place. It may not appeal to younger people as it is a more "mature" scent, but so is GIT (came out 1985) and CW (came out 1988). The scent is timeless truly, but will appeal more to the older (30 and up) crowd. If you're intrigued, but haven't smelled GIT/CW before, take a shower with some Irish Spring body wash. Then take that smell and imagine it slightly blue/aquatic and add in a little amber sweetness.... that's what this smells like! Overall the scent is great! It smells phenomenal when getting whiffs of it in the wind!

I'm the first reviewer of Al Haramain L'aventure Knight. I have since stepped away the last year or two from fragrances. I wore about 1 1/2 bottles of Knight. I will review Carbon Edition now as well. I’m late on this one though! So, I saw a few youtube reviews ect. They're mostly all wrong about this one, even the most respectable ones. They compare this one to Green Irish Tweed consistently and it’s not trying to be a clone of it. Quite obvious. Carbon Edition doesn't smell like the current formulations of Cool Water and at least my older bottle of Green Irish Tweed. It really smells the most similar to my vintage bottle of Cool Water. Basically, take vintage Cool Water and amp up the green by a bit. Then, take out some of the more superfluous elements like tobacco ect. That's Carbon Edition in a nutshell. But yes, it opens slightly greener than vintage Cool Water. It dries down slightly greener as well than vintage Cool Water. But, one would be hard pressed to tell the difference in the air. They're incredibly similar. So far Carbon Edition, doesn't have insane longevity but it's decent. Similar to vintage Cool Water in this regard for sure. I kinda like this though because it allows it to be more versatile. I can wear 1-2 sprays almost anywhere and it won't be too much since it’s not beastmode. I also see this as an any season fragrance. If you want more power for the cold, then maybe L'aventure Knight would be the way to go because it's a smokey version of Green Irish Tweed. I can tell you for sure, the intention with this fragrance is to smell like vintage Cool Water and not Green Irish Tweed. 1000%. Obviously, there's similarities on both sides but this leans incredibly close to vintage Cool Water. Since this is basically vintage Cool Water, you can wear this any time and anywhere. This DNA is legendary. Still, this one obviously isn't some new awesome release, so if you don't find vintage Cool Water all that special, then sure, this may be “meh” for you. But vintage Cool Water is by far my favorite fragrance. Maybe some of that is the smell and some is nostalgia but I love this s***. Wonderful! I'll probably never wear L'aventure Knight ever again, as this replaces it for me almost 100%. Knight is a smokey Green Irish Tweed. This is a vintage Cool Water. I prefer the latter. If you want Green Irish Tweed, then go for Tres Nuit EDP. Gives that sweet, grassy, and soapy vibe. If you love Cool Water, this will be the best version you can get. It's better than Belcam's version of Cool Water as well, and it's better than some knock off Cool Water oil I purchased. So there ya go. If you want to experience the late 80s/90s version of Cool Water, then look no further. This is 95% of the experience. I literally own a bottle the old Cool Water, and have been wearing a little before this arrived. I think this one is a little stronger than vintage Cool Water. But don't expect wonders. If you can't smell this after 30 minutes, you've went nose blind for sure. It definitely lasts around 6-8 hours. As far as quality goes, this one has it in spades. Haramain frags do a pretty great job with quality. The quality of this is pretty absurd considering the $ you pay. It's a bit better than even vintage Cool Water in quality. Arguably, as good of quality as Green Irish Tweed or very close. But it's not a clone of Tweed. If you want a clone of current Cool Water, you may be disappointed because this still leans a little green and new Cool Water leans bluer/aquatic compared to the vintage. My newer Cool Water is 2020 batch by the way. So relatively new. Anyway, hope this slightly more in-depth review helps some of you come to a decision. This will be my signature scent for a really long time. Al Haramain Amber Oud Carbon Edition is an EXCELLENT and much more financially conservative alternative to Creed GIT. They both open and dry down in a manner that is virtually indistinguishable to my relatively novice but sensitive nose. This is quite remarkable considering that they share not a single note between them! Such are the mysteries of perfumery and alchemy. The AOCE was a bit sharper/rougher in the initial opening right from the box, but my experience with other ME fragrances is that after a few months of maturation (not maceration, guys, that happens in the perfume house) those edges will soften. It may even take a totally different direction as it grows-up. If so, I'll edit this review accordingly. [And I have. See below.] For now, however, with the exception of the first couple of minutes, I would be hard pressed to tell them apart. Perhaps I'll try the GIT on one arm and the AOCE on the other and report back. I've also got Davidoff Cool Water and Armaf Tres Nuit. The Cool Water is a great greener twist on GIT, as one might expect since the same nose created both. Tres Nuit is not quite as similar, but ohmygoodness, it's an awesome olfactory experience that I actually prefer to the GIT. It's matured in a warmer, deeper, darker, floral direction that I find more versatile, cozy and comfortable than the GIT. I penned a lengthy review of that one on it's Fragrantica page. [1/26/2026 EDIT] I wore AOCE again today and have an update. It has now matured an additional six weeks and has become VERY smooth in the opening, and the drydown is exquisite in its depth, complexity, and performance compared to GIT. Side-by-side, GIT is wonderful, but rather simple and linear compared to AOCE, which is now a LOT more interesting. There's a lot going on here. With AOCE there is actually a noticeable progression through the top, heart, and base that is not nearly as apparent with GIT. And the performance - Ohmygoodness, AOCE has become absolutely beastly in its endurance and projection! I've had it on now for almost 11 hours and it's still strong, loud and proud. BION, I went outside to do some snow-blowing after the blizzard yesterday, and even in single-digit temperature, under my coat and scarf, it was continuously powerful! If I'm going to wear this in public I'm really going to have to use that fire-hose of a sprayer MUCH more carefully and conservatively than I did this morning. Woof! For date nights I'll only need about a HALF a spray, on the chest, under my undershirt, or risk being olfactorily overpowering rather than aromatically attractive. This frag is good for ALL seasons, temperatures, humidities, times of day, and all occasions, casual to formal. (I'd be really judicious and sparing with this in hot temperatures.) Enjoy. CONTEXT: 65yo professional gentleman with the mature, old-school tastes one would expect from a man my age. I've been collecting fragrances for six months now and have about 100 fragrances. These are just one man's humble opinions. Your mileage may vary with skin-chemistry, taste and age.

What a beautiful smell this is and a very modern,more warm and sexy version of Cool Water !! And yes I said Cool Water and not GIT Amber Oud carbon opens up very green,zingy and citrusy with a touch of those sea notes making this very fresh,alluring but also very airy as well ! Also to note that the opening is very nice but on the skin for the first 30 minutes does smell a little off putting but that unpleasantness does fade! As this develops you lose that initial bright freshness and the amber comes in kind of changing this scent into something more sexy,warm and more serious !! I actually love the twist the amber brings as it separates this from the other clones and actually makes it pretty unique !! The drydown is the perfect blend of warmth,appeal but also retains some of that freshness from the beginning. To me this is a more modern,posh,professional and sexy version of CoolWater without the synthetic sharp edges. Performance is great but unilike the other Al Haramain scents I’ve tried this is not beast mode. It lasts 12+ hours but with only moderate projection. In fact in terms of projection it’s probably the least projecting out of the AL haramain scents. With that said, it still projects pretty well 🙏 Overall rating -9 out of 10 !! I love the CoolWater/GIT DNA so of course id at least like this but they took the nice parts of cool water and added their own perfect twists making it even better!! That amber note was done to perfection to round this scent out ( Sidenote- if your looking for a strict GIT clone I’d definitely go with L adventure Knight as that was an excellent take on GIT that has amazing performance at an amazing price )

It's more Millisime Imperial by Creed meets the bastard daughter of GIT and Cool Water. Using modern chemicals such as it does creates a textural effect of smooth stubble. Even Cool Water was absolutely gutted from the oakmossy beast it could be back in day. Cool Water could even get DANK in damp weather. So it is with Carbon Edition. It has one of my favorite scent profiles and definitely fits in the GIT/Cool Water family tree. It just isn't a clone, that's all. If anything, only Millisime Imperial really peaks through with a face you can make out clearly at times. The final drydown gets a bit screechy and astringent in the end. Like concrete that pulls all the moisture from the air. Its weird and synthetic bones left lying on the ground. But getting there takes awhile and the stuff is a very contemporary vibe of the GIT/Cool Water DNA. If all of Haramain's blends are as high end designer quality as this; I could be interested in more. Bit too pricey which keeps me always pointing to the next Lattafa or similar. The Gold one is on my radar since having eyes opened at Shaheen Gold By Lataffa Pride. That one surprised me greatly and I'll have to post a review later. Suffice to say if you like the vibe of GIT/Cool Water then you should appreciate this. The quality of the synthetics are soo smooth except for nature of the final drydown on my skin anyhow. But its velvet getting there. Definitely recommended despite the scrutiny. I can't imagine not having it anymore and even at the elevated pricing point I would still be interested in buying this again.

Super fantastic. Very clearly more Cool Water than Tweed. It's fresher, with less of a bitter edge, and more aquatic than GIT. I prefer GIT in the spring, not to mention its fantastic drydown, but this is definitely more refreshing in the hotter seasons. It's also several million times better than CW. Carbon is smoother and better blended. The removal of the tobacco note from CW is a gain for this scent, and it does laps around modern CW with respect to performance. This definitely has that iconic 90's frag thing, in the vein of Platinum Egoiste, etc., which is something I personally never tire of. it has that feeling, but I do feel it's somewhat modernized. It's fresh, aquatic, attractive, barber shop-esque juice. Carbon is friendlier and more mass appealing than most barber shops though. But I think this one definitely still has some niche appeal, for those that disfavor or grew tired of designer scents. I think it works well for all ages, and could be worn in most seasons since the performance is there, but the performance is tempered because the freshness and 'cool'-ness is there too so as to not be obnoxious in hot weather. Given the DNA, it shines brightest in summer. Value wise, and scent wise, this juice is almost unparalleled. Easily my favorite of the Amber Oud range, followed somewhere down the line by the Emerald Edition. It really feels niche quality and if you like the Tweed/CW family of scents, you would never be disappointed in this. It's truly better than most in that DNA tree, and I can't recommend it enough if it interests you.

Let me put you all on some game. Firstly, I love Carbon Edition. But it's not truly a Green Irish Tweed clone. It's a hybrid of GIT and Cool Water. I wrote a extensive review a few reviews down you should read. But check this out. Al Haramain Smell Dubai just released and it is a LEGIT Green Irish Tweed clone/hybrid. Its not on Fragrantica yet though. I bought my bottle off Jomashop. IDK why no influencers are talking about it yet. I've only seen 1 review on YT and 1 on TikTok. But neither one of the guys seemed to have smelled GIT before because they didn't mention it. But I'm telling you it's GIT with a little YSL Myslf style florals added. I smelled the real GIT when i directly compared it to Carbon. From my memory, I'd pretty much say Smell Dubai is at least 90% similar with the remaining 10% being the added MYSLF style florals. I think Smell Dubai is a upgrade/modernization of GIT and makes it feel even more elegant/gentlemanly. Itbalso is more wearable across age ranges. If you want a aquatic twist of GIT, then Carbon is definitely that. If GIT is too green for you, then Carbon again is the one for you. BUT, if you want an awesome clone of GIT in extrait de parfum strength with that awesome Amber Oud atomizer and bottle, then look at Al Haramain Smell Dubai. This obviously just released so I'm going to let my bottle macerate for 2 or 3 weeks. But I will be putting a huge dent in this and Carbon this spring and summer. I'll post my full review of "Smell Dubai" whenever it shows up on here.

I blind bought this scent due to several Youtube videos while looking for a GIT alternative. However, I was quite disappointed upon receiving it just based on similarity. This does not have any of the greeness offered by GIT and instead, its opening is heavy on the lemon verbena which can be quite intense at first. It is definitely leaning towards aquatic and I see this as Cool Water with its contrast knob turned all the way up. That being said, I really enjoy this fragrance. The lemon verbena opening is a bit harsh but it quickly goes away after 15-30 minutes, becoming sweeter and warmer due to the amber note. It lasts much longer than Cool Water and I always catch whiffs of the ambery warmth which makes me smile. I appreciate that the 200mL bottle comes with its own refillable travel sprayer that is also branded. I wear this to the office when I am dressed more casually (e.g. henley, leans, boots). Bottle and cap are high quality and offer a great tactile experience. Compared to L'Aventure Knight, it is much less herbal and bitter in the opening, with more sweetness and citrus. Dry downs become more similar but this still lacks any greeness that L'Aventure Knight has. Overall, I really enjoy this fragrance with my only gripes being the harsher opening.

I owned Amber Oud Carbon Edition by Al Haramain Perfumes for a while, and my first impression was that it felt like Cool Water on steroids. The fresh, green character is immediately recognizable, but with much stronger performance. For me, it didn’t smell like Green Irish Tweed at all. Instead, it reminded me much more of the classic Cool Water DNA, clean, green, and very easy to wear. What really stood out was the longevity, which is far stronger than what I remember from the original Cool Water back in the day. In warm weather this works very well. It’s fresh, energetic, and easy to throw on without thinking too much. That said, after spending more time with it I realized the scent profile felt quite linear and somewhat one-dimensional. While the performance is impressive, the fragrance itself doesn’t evolve very much on my skin. Because of that, I eventually sold my bottle. It’s still a solid option if you want a stronger version of that classic fresh green style, but in the end it didn’t quite align with what I look for in my collection. Scent: 7/10 | Longevity: 9/10 | Projection: 8/10 | Overall: 6.5/10

I had cool water years ago and I have smelled GIT. as I don't own both now, I can't give you a fair comparison. What I can tell you is it smells like a designer cloned GIT. not heavy on the lemon verbena note, not as green. Very well done. Al Haramain are known for good performance. This is probably the best you are going to get with this type of composition. That said, it's not beast mode and is office safe. I usually like to have a cheapy I can put in my gym bag and spray after the shower knowing that if it gets damaged or lost, I won't be as upset. That's what it is, a versatile dumb reach that leans more towards the maturer person rather than something like YSL Y EDP or profumo. I think the latter two perform a bit better but if you are not happy with what you get here, I would try a different type of fragrance altogether. If I would pick one freshy that has a classic smell, I'd reach for Platinum Egoiste by Chanel every time. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the best cool water/ GIT on the market. Will try something new next time but if you love this composition, then it's a no brainer

I bought the l'aventure knight version previously and found it not great at performing as the reviews said. I found the lemon verbena opening a bit bathroom cleaner too. I took a risk with this one as the price is on the high end but no regrets (also because I found it brand new on vinted for £40). It's smoother, better quality and great longevity. It doesn't smell like Chanel Platinum Egoiste but it does the same thing. Like Dior home intense does the same thing as ombre leather or sauvage does the same thing as aventus. This is crisp, clean, masculine and elegant. I can see why you might feel like £70 for 100ml is steep for a clone house but it definitely out performs green Irish tweed and I believe it's the best clone on the market. Is it a like for like clone of GIT? No. Id it the best GIT style fragrance on the market? Well I haven't tried Tres Unit, but if I had £200, I'd buy this and keep the change rather than buy the OG but would rather pay the extra than L'aventure

This smells like a more premium Coolwater! When Comparing Coolwater and AO Carbon my mother said they smelled identical in the air. But for me I could tell a slight difference. Theres a sweet citrus that is more prominent in AO Carbon, which I enjoy it more and the green note and sea notes I enjoy better also. As for Coolwater I will be giving it to my gf since its one of her favorites because AO Carbon is better in every way it Last longer, Better sillage, better ingredients, More prominent notes etc. As for Green Irish Tweed, it is more Citrus, Green and Floral smelling to MY nose. While AOCE and CW have more of a marine, clean and fresh vibe to them. I also love Green Irish Tweed but my gf hates it. Its too green for her. Its only $10 more than Coolwater and WAY better. Smell 9/10 Longevity 7/10 Projection 8/10 Price 9/10 Overall 9/10

UPDATE: Wife loved it!!! I am not yet sure of the closeness to GIT. But it def is a great replacement for Cool Water if you are unsatisfied with the current formula. It smells very similar, but not the same. I think they created a hybrid of GIT and CW honestly. So if you're looking for a 1 to 1 of GIT this prob won't be it. But i think this is probably more mass appealing than GIT, which I believe was partly how CW came to be. ORIG: Waiting on my Carbon edition to come in the mail before review. I have strong hopes for this scent seeing my wife LOVES Cool Water. Sadly today's Cool Water is very weak. I'm not sure of vintage Cool Water as I never smelled it. 2010 was probably the oldest bottle I smelled. Will update once I receive.

I’m getting older now, 26, and I work in a professional environment. The days of super fruity fragrances and loud boozy leather colognes are pretty much behind me. At this point I just want to smell clean, well groomed, and put together, and this is one of the best colognes I’ve found for that. It’s fresh, but still has some warmth to it. The vetiver and amber round everything out really nicely. It’s not going to last 6 plus hours, but I get a solid 4 hours out of it and I’m fine with that. It definitely has that old school fougère, shower gel, barbershop kind of smell. If you don’t like that style, you probably won’t like this. 9/10

This one surprised me the most out of the Amber Oud line! It smells like a brighter Green Irish Tweed by Creed. GIT smells a little bit more bitter than this. To put what this smells like into words though, I would say it smells like the perfect gentlemanly barber shop sent. It smells like a classic suited up man from the late '80s or '90s and there's something very appealing about it. It reminds me of colognes like Chanel Ēgoïste Platinum and Lacoste Original. Very green, fresh, bright, and luxurious. Most importantly this one has more longevity than all the others, lasting me about 7-9 hours.

I have always loved the smell of cw but hate the performance. People say this is cw on steroids and I couldn't agree more. From the box, to the bottle to the pressurized atomizer=PERFECT! A little headache inducing to my nose, which is a good thing as the juice is very potent and don't require a lot of sprays, considering it's only a 60ml bottle. Where I'm from, tropical weather all year long, this is the one to buy. Refreshing, bright and perfect for casual days yet easily pulled off by someone in a suit about to have a serious business meeting. This is pure love. 10/10 will buy again.

This is currently my favourite. It has the Cool Water vibe, but it also has green and floral elements. It smells really refreshing and classy. The bottle is great, but mine got damaged during the transportation. As for the projection, I'd say it projects above average for the first 1-2 hours and it last for 7+ hours on the skin, but at that point it's just a skin scent. Having a travel bottle (found one on temu) is a must, so that you can refresh it after 4-5 hours. I only wish it was a better performer, but as far as the DNA goes, it performs better than CW and probably similar to GIT.

Great. Green irish water. No tweed. Longer lasting than any other reinterpretation of this dna, like x3 longer lasting, super fresh, a litte more balsamic or soapy, but it’s quality stuff here. On my skin ( dry and acidic ph) it has 10h longevity but don’t smell it close in the first hour. It’s too strong and I get a cucumber vibe but that doesn’t happen only if I sniff it directly from my skin. I wanted to avoid alHaramain but they keep doing really good stuff from time to time.. The orientica subbrand and this amber oud series seem to do the trick.

Fresh, salty, blue aquatic with a touch of citrus opening. Smells like a mens hair gel or sports deodarant spray on the opening. Very clean and fresh fragrance. On the drydown it gets more citrusy. Performance for me is 7-9hrs on skin. Projection is moderate but can be huge if oversprayed but not too much as it may be headache inducing to some. Overall its a nice fragrance. For a comparison as it is commonly compared to Creeds’green Irish tweed and Cool water I would say this leans more towards cool water. Its a masculine fragrance. Very versatile.

Banger! Females love this, period. Its a freshie so spray it 15 times. The quality is very good especially at this price point. If you read on here that it smells like "cool water" they are right, but cool water smells like a cheap clone of this. Funny right? Absolute blind buy worthy, buy the big bottle. Also, I just went on a 5 mile run in the humidity and 90 degree heat with 15 sprays of this from a few hours earlier and it held up. You will get positive reactions from this and complements from the ladies.

This is really really nice and one of the best "hybrid" style fragrances I own. I agree with most people's assesment, it's a fresher more aquatic take on GIT and for me a lot more wearable. I tend to struggle with a lot of aquatics overdoing the saltiness / ambergris thing but that is absolutely not the case with this. It remains fresh and clean and spicey while being a bit more mature which suits me fine. Personally this is a 25+ fragrance for a bloke not afraid to smell a bit old school in the right ways.

Great fresh and aromatic vibe perfume that mellows out into a soapy clean scent. Is a combination of marine and aromatic notes, good balance. The middle and base notes are the best part of this perfume so if you don't like the synthetic citrus opening, give it some time :) Spray on clothes to get that fresh laundry vibe, great for the summer. Performance seems moderate to long. I'm yet to smell GIT but now I want to :D

Got this for a little under 50$ for a 200ml - WELL WORTH IT FOR ME I love Coty Aspen... If you want a smoother Coty Aspen on steroids, this is it.. If you want something more like GIT, go with L'Aventure Knight , Raghba Man or Egra Man GIT is green-powdery-airy, while Cool Water, Aspen or Carbon Edition are more wattery and shower-gel like BUT, yes, it also will remind you strongly of GIT

Smells amazing - full stop. There’s “green” in the opening, but that softens into a fresh, clean, aquatic yet slightly warm scent that smells like someone you want to be close to. Not necessarily in a romantic way, but it gives the vibe of someone fresh, friendly, and approachable. This is really nice.

This isn't just a GIT clone. This is, very specifically, 1990's Davidoff Cool Water! Like, the original, darker formula before they reformulated it and made it so much softer. This is really good!!! Good ingredients, smells very expensive. Love it!

Absolutely phenomenal. It's the version of Cool Water you always wanted. Dense. Great projection and sillage. Will never buy Cool Water again or another GIT clone again. This is the one to get.

Amber Oud Carbon Edition is a great, smooth marine type of fragrance. Of all the fragrances listed as similar, the only one I've tried (and have) is Cool Water. These two are about 85% to 90% the same scent, once they dry down. They start out completely different however. Cool Water opens quite floral and biting while AOCE is smoother and woodier from the start. Both fragrances settle down quickly (about 15 to 20 minutes) to their final scent which I'd describe as smooth, woody with a bit of remaining marine accord. The marine or aquatic accord is not overwhelming, fishy, salty or stale but quite subtle. If you like Cool Water, you'll like Amber Oud Carbon Edition. AOCE has an edge over Cool Water when it comes to longevity. With Cool Water I only get about 4 to 5 hours while AOCE was still going at 8 hours. Projection for both was average; you won't fill a room with either of them. Since I already have a bottle of Cool Water, I'm not going to bother with AOCE. Once I use up the Cool Water, I'll get AOCE instead because of the better longevity.

The first time I tried, I thought: "The more expensive version of Tres Nuit." I've heard it has a metallic feeling, even tho I love that I don't get it on this one. What I get is; edgy but delightful citrus mixed with a little hint of mint and smokiness. The more I wear it, the more I like it. Never been a fan of citruses fragrances, but this one gives you a darker, sharp, earthy, and yet, clean experience. Relatively to walking at 8:00 pm after the rain hits the city and getting the breeze from the lake (Or "Coast" because it has a hint of saltiness). (For those who wonder, It's a surprisingly close feeling to Green Irish Tweed). Durability: 6-8h Sillage: Louder on the first three hours, then it stays occasionally lingering on the air for around three more hours. It's worth it if you can get it for around 70$ for 100ml. (Got mine for 35$ lol)

I have tried GIT several times, and I own both Amber Oud Carbon Edition (AOCE) and Venti Green Tweed (VGT). To me, GIT is a marvelous fragrance. I love its green notes and its freshness. The other two are able to imitate that sensation upon spraying, but during the drydown, AOCE turns more lavender-forward, and its freshness and citrusy aspects almost disappear. VGT, on the other hand, stays true to GIT in the drydown, maintaining that fresh, green, and citrusy scent until the end. Neither of the two is perfect, but if I had to choose the one that comes closest to GIT, I’d say VGT. Considering the price, I recommend trying both and drawing your own conclusions. Needless to say, GIT lacks longevity and sillage—both AOCE and VGT are able to match or even surpass it in that regard. This is just my opinion. Have a great day!

I was a tad bit let down by this one. I bought it blindly expecting an amped-up interpretation of Creed Green Irish Tweed, but while this fragrance is clearly inspired by GIT, it's not nearly as close to the original as the commonly-named Armaf Tres Nuit or my previous clone of choice, Rasasi Egra. It lacks the bright, fresh opening of both of those fragrances, and dries down to something warmer, rather than woodier or floral. I attribute that warmth to the amber note (yes, it's there, despite what YouTube reviewers may tell you) and while it's pleasant and probably helps the fragrance's performance, it's not what I was expecting. Not a knock on the fragrance itself as it smells high-quality, but not quite what I was looking for when I bought it, and not enough my speed to be a pleasant surprise, either.

It’s good as a cool water alternative but I honestly just prefer cool water. CW has this airiness and brisk quality that the AOC replaces with pungent thick interpretations of the same notes. It smells sweeter than cool water and almost has an apple-pie like quality. I’m not too keen on the dry down either, it just smells like a synthetic ‘2D’ version of the opening. I think it’s nice in the air or sprayed on your chest, but smelling up close reveals the more harsh synthetic aspects of AOC. Performance on my skin is on par with cool water which only adds to the redundancy of owning this. I still like it, it’s fruity, sweet and fresh but in my opinion you’re just better off staying with cool water as it’s far cheaper and to my nose, better.

As usual, the majority of reviewers here are way off. This isn't a clone of vintage Cool Water, or Green Irish Tweed, for that matter. It's a blatant clone of Coty's Aspen. The only thing it shares with GIT is a beautiful lemon verbena top note. Otherwise, this is wintergreen dihyromyrcenol pine-sappy brightness, very much like vintage Quintessence Aspen from 1989, if you want to talk "vintage." It's well made at a higher concentration with a smoother and more dimensional blend, but when the cards are down it's just a headier, longer-lasting Aspen. Nice box and bottle. Come at me, bros.

El Haramain's Dupe of Creed Green Irish Tweed. Green, Aquatic, Floral, Herbal, Earthy & Woody. It's like taking a walk in the woods in the spring time. Much less synthetic than Cool Water & Tres Nuit and much higher quality. Longevity is way above average. It projects for hours after applying and leaves a pretty substantial scent trail in the first few hours. It then settles down but you can definitely get wafts all day. Got a full presentation for $55 but you can get testers closer to $40-$45. Not bad for a cheapie.

Very similar to Al haramain Etoiles Silver, but higher quality (very sparking green opening, after 1h 90% close). Much closer scentwise to Cool Water than GIT. Nice scent, but 60ml bottle is slightly overpriced. As GIT clone i definitely prefer Al haramain l'aventure knight, which is heavier but this one is a love for me, Amber Oud Carbon is like+. I don't get that great performance, just a bit above average. 8.0/10

#325 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is another great scent in this line which does not disappoint. It leans more Cool Water than GIT as there's more of a freshie feel than GIT. But much more staying power and projection than either. Projects strongly for an hour, delicious skin scent for six. Go for it!

Love Al H. Great projection on this. Reminds me more of Banana Republic Metal Rain. Which already has good projection for a $20 bottle. Definitely no where close to being a GIT dupe. It’s not nearly as soft, and definitely has a classic Vetiver barber shop vibe with a blue youthfulness.

If you like Cool Water and wished it lasted longer. This is one you should pick up. Smells a little off the first couple minutes but morphs right into Cool Water with better performance. This is a great bargain only if you like Cool Water I honestly can't tell them apart.

When I first tried it , it had a bitter chemical scent to citrus, but after sitting unused for 7 weeks , I retried it , and it was beautiful, dont understand what happened? The citrus is bright and beautiful !

Great scent profile similar to GIT but longevity is definitely not there within 2 hours a skin scent. For that performance you might as well purchase Cool Water.

Amber Oud Carbon Edition by Al Haramain is, from all the Amber Oud releases I own, the least impressive to date—which, however, does not mean it's a bad fragrance. I expected it to be one of the most refined interpretations of Creed’s Green Irish Tweed, yet in practice it leans closer to the cool, airy freshness of Davidoff Cool Water. Apart from the luxurious packaging and beautifully crafted bottle, it ultimately falls into the lower middle of the pack. The composition is a classic green–aromatic blend: a crisp citrus and grassy opening, soft herbal nuances in the heart, and a clean woody-mossy base, creating a character that is elegant and fresh but not particularly distinctive. Longevity and projection are solid, though a subtle vinegary sour undertone in the backround slightly detracts from the overall impression. There are, in my view, more convincing options in this genre at a lower price point. Nose Note #923 I never really liked Cool Water. This DNA doesn't connect with me, it feels too cold and unfriendly. And from memory - this is 100% Cool Water, but much stronger. I applied at 6am and still got whiffs of it at 11am, I consider this very strong for a fresh fragrance. I don't think it needs any further comments. It's hard to describe Cool Water, but it stands out amongst freshies from the 80-90s. Men only. Strong. OK sillage. 7.4/10, not my cup of tea, but it's an easy fragrance. For once I actually think Montagne did a better dupe of this. This is a fine smelling fragrance, don’t get me wrong, but it has no longevity to speak of. Asking multiple other people yields the same thoughts that this smells good but is super weak when it comes to projection and longevity. Maybe a month of sitting will improve this, been 2 weeks so far.
