Areej Al Oud

The Jimmy Carter/Barack Obama of Oudh, this comes across as an honest, steady performer, decent, bland and inoffensive. Its a pretty standard woody rose and nothing more. Not complex or particularly interesting but well blended, pleasant and clean. For the price its decent and probably gets better over the months. It felt like proper ingredients have been used and not synthetic diesel nastiness which is a nice surprise at this price point. Consequently its a bit weak and could use a boost somewhere though. It doesn't make any statements beyond being respectable and steady and isn't very strong in projection or longevity. Its the kind of thing you can wear anywhere and won't offend anyone. i would call this straight down the middle Unisex, probably quite sexy on a woman actually, understated and calm on a man. The packaging is excellent and i loved it, very nice for the look and price. I surely liked this but didn't fall in love with it. Its a good scent in my view, unremarkable and forgettable but well made. I think this is something i would like to return to in Summer and hotter days when it will have more punch.

Nice looking bottle, the rose not so prominent and quite fresh giving the soap feeling this maybe as a result of musk. Saffron whiffs come and go time to time just to make this more versatile for cold weather. Overall a great and more soft oud rose combo of middle east type of fragrance. LONGEVITY 10/10 SILLAGE 8/10
