this opens with woody notes, saffron and a bit of vanilla. it smells very similar to other middle eastern scents i've smelled. it's nice, especially for cold weather-warm, a little sweet, a little spicy, but not too far in either direction. the cashmere wood is quite strong. for me it's an intensely woody vanilla/saffron with some leather.

First of all, the exquisite jeweled bottle is like a tiny treasure! I wish western perfumers would take some inspiration and offer something more interesting than the prevailing boring minimalist bottles. Give me more unique, even kitschy designs! This was my first experience with scented oils, and unfortunately, I don't think they are for me. I hate the feeling of the sticky residue it leaves on my skin and especially on clothes. The scent is quite generic, warm, and unisex; in the opening, I get pure wood and amber with a leather undertone, then comes pretty strong saffron and hints of vanilla and musk. The fragrance gradually sweetens over time, and the dry-down is completely different, kinda soapy and powdery. However, there is a metallic note reminiscent of burnt plastic that really bothers me and ruins it for me. :(

Batoul is perfect autumn/winter fragnance. I found it very warm (but not too much sweet) and woody. In the start I can sniff sweet, dark tabacco with spice and perfect saffron (without medicinal notes), I can detect small drop of flowers. After some time is amber more prominent, followed by musc and sandalwood sticks smeling in background. My boyfriend detected cedarwood note more than me. Batoul is nice, complex fragnance with moderate sillage and good longevity for me. Official fragnance notes: Top Note: Saffron, Tobacco, Jasmine, Orange Blossom Middle Note: Agarwood, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Guaiacwood Base Note: Amber, Musk, Incense, Cedarwood Edit: After some time I started dislike this cpo. Its little bit heavy for me and people around dislike it too.

Batoul strongly reminds me of Boucheron Jaipur Bracelet, because of cashmere wood, which is very prominent to both of them. It starts with strong vanilla and cashmere wood. After awhile sweet amber makes its appearance, along with a hint of saffron. Leather on the other hand stays steady all the way, until the fragrance fades away. I cannot make my mind if this is a more feminine or masculine perfume. I would say that "unisex" here is the exact definition. The bejeweled bottle is beautiful. A 6/10 for me.

I love this fragrance for the winter. It’s deep, dark, & mysterious- perfect for me as a Scorpio woman. I get lots of oudh, cashmere, & a bit of sweetness from Batoul. Interestingly, I pair this with Pink Sugar Sensual & it is sooo sexy! Very complex & far from cheap- even though they both are extremely affordable.

A softer, less skanky dupe for Alexandre J.'s Silver Ombre. Swapped out Silver Ombre's rose for indolic white florals but still lighter. Their oud-vanilla heart smells virtually the same only Silver Ombre is slightly spicier. The vanilla amber woody base the same as well.

It's pleasantly nice! though it's attar based, I found a deep & expensive type vibe from this! works more if you suddenly get out from office temperature to a hot environment. You will feel the bubble around you for 8+ hours easily!

I just love it. It is strong intrusive , extremely present in an elegant manner. The presentation is also overhelming, the bottle is a small piece of arabian art.
