For Ever

How do I start this one, first I am glad to see it in Fragrantica, second, I am a man, that likes to wear "masculine" fragrances, I have a weekness for certain sweet fragrances though, and I find them to be very appealing. Usually Sandalwood based fragrances if they are creamy sweet, yet still smokey, I LOVE those. Anyways onto, this. I purchased this off Amazon, based on the notes listed on amazon (which are different than here, Fragrantica DEFINITELY has the correct notes), of interest were Incense, Sandalwood, Black Currant, and Bergamont (based on Amazon's note listing) When I received the bottle, I smelled what I perceived as Pinapple (its peach definitely) and coconut, along with sweet floral notes, and it came off as feminine for sure. VERY pleasant though, I actually enjoyed wearing it that night as I sat at my computer. But wouldnt feel comfortable. Fast forward a little, and I was going through my stuff to thin it out some, and I grabbed this again, what were the notes, I go back to amazon (as I knew it wasnt here on Fragrantica yet) and there they were, the incense and sandalwood, I have to try it again. So I put it on again, same fruity smell as before, but I felt a little more comfortable with it, I really like certain aspects of it, but it does smell feminine, so I decide to try to wear it, I put it on in the morning, but it was coming off too feminine, so I sprayed 1 spray of Eau Sauvage Parfum to it, to sort of cover it up a little, and WOW what a combo, I fell instantly in love. I then tried this by itself, and what an AMAZING drydown, a sweet creamy smokey sandalwood (even though its not listed here) that is what I perceive when the fruity and floral notes sort of fade to the back, its simply amazing stuff, and I LOVE combining this with Eau Sauvage Parfum, its a deadly sexy secret weapon. This by itself is deadly sexy in the drydown, on my skin, it lasts a long time, projection could be a little better in the later stages though, and I find myself reapplying it (convenient bottle) just to boost it up since I love smelling this around the clock, it stays on skin a long time, but I like it to be more in my face during the day. If you apply it to clothing, it lasts a LONG time, but it remains fruity, and since it is an oil, it stains clothes, the liquid is a clearish yellow color, so it wont totally ruin your clothes, but I woudlnt apply it on clothes. This stuff is also $10 for the bottle, and you only need a small amount per application, I plan on buying a few more just to have on hand.

I'm a guy, I'm gay, and I *love* this fragrance. I have a great palette for wine and a nose like you'd not believe. When you can detect gas leaks that machinery can't find, you know you're good :) Al-Haramain For Ever has got to be the single most sensual fragrance I have ever encountered. The first thing I get is coconut, then vanilla, it's almost like a scented dessert, rich and thick. Definitely fig on the nose, almost a little syrup-like, but I don't detect peach in it. Right on the end is a little hit like baby powder, the kind of smell you'd imagine it to be - sweet, light and gentle. For Ever is incredibly strong. I use a little at night next to my pillow, to help me sleep, because it's so rich and decadent that it relaxes me. My friends adore it too, I've already ordered some for them! One word of warning, if you're somewhere like a restaurant, apply it VERY lightly, because when you're warm, it scents quite heavily, and it'll knock out your nose, so when you eat, you'll miss quite a lot.

This smells like fruity ice cream! I do detect the vanilla and coconut - very sweet, creamy, and gourmand. There's a touch of blackcurrant that reads as ripe blueberry to my nose. Also, I can detect the tiniest hint of tea if I breathe in deeply. Forever stays close to the skin, but on a windy day, you can pick up delicate whiffs of this delicious scent. It becomes more musky on the dry down. A great bargain fragrance that benefits from a good, long rest after traveling to you; it changes drastically once it has time to settle, as do most perfumes (especially oils), in my experience. I wish there was stronger projection, such as with the EdP fragrances from Al Haramain, but for this price, I don't mind applying heavily.

It's like fragrant fruit jam smeared between layers of puff pastry that is flavored delicately with anise-seeds, topped with dollops of whipped vanilla-almond cream. A breeze wafts by as you nibble this confection, carrying a subtle whiff of sweet blossoms (ylang-ylang, orchid, narcissus). As this beautiful mixture of scents subsides a bit, I smell dark, mysterious woods- with just a touch of incense smokiness- and a powdery, sweet musk that becomes more-noticeable on the far drydown. So lovely throughout its long life! Honestly, one of the most sophisticated gourmands I've encountered, and an amazing find for the price! NOTE: My label says "For Ever".

I was so confused buying this as their were so many opinions bt i had to take a chance so finally i got it ..n actually iam satisfied ..i can feel why people saying it a coconut fragrance ... actually the mixture of ylang ylang and sandalwood together feel like coconut creamy kind of vibe ..its a incensy coconuty creamy powdery kind of fragrance ... it's smell way more rich ..n i mean this is budget friendly as well in india it is approximately $7 to $10 ..

BANANAS <3 Definitely. And sandalwood with vanilla, and some this-and-that, refined mess that brings depth and sensuality to summer fun. Tropical and very sexy 'bronze skin scent' that also should be applied to long locks, Forever and beach hair were just made for each other.

Gorgeous coconut-vanilla scent, lasts forever and I love it. I have multiple backup bottles, and it is my summer happiness fragrance. Also I have to mention, since it's an oil, spending hours in the water or sweating like hell in the summer doesn't make it fade

Smells like a tropical paradise! The coconut is pronounced, but smells natural. The flowers and vanilla support the coconut nicely. It has none of that artificial quality of synthetic coconut. It's a sweet fruity-sweet semi-gourmand. Magnificent!

Oh, I'm sooo in love with this one, pure coconut, with a hint of vanilla. This is the coconut scent I was searching for, so yummy <3 Up.: I just had to buy 2 backup bottles... never done that before. That means something xD

Wonderful oil for summer, great projection, and a little lasts a long time. It projects stronger than some EDPs. Lovely fresh creamy scent, gorgeously blended, perfect for a day sunbathing in the summer heat.

It's pungent like VS Very Sexy Now Wild Palm, but with a rosy base. After a few minutes, it's all VS Very Sexy Now Wild Palm plus powder. Moderate projection and sillage. Love.

I smell gourmand, so I'm wondering why this note is not on the list.

A dry ylang mostly with a little sandalwood and orchid

Wow, I really, really love this! I really think what the one reviewer said about varied batches smelling differently must be true, because I am getting a much different experience than most of what I see described here. And DaddysLittleHelper (the 1st reviewer) captures the drydown perfectly, spot-on! (My) For Ever opens with ripe coconut and sweet tropical fruit, but that very quickly deepens into a woody coconut and LOTS of incense. Like, mostly incense. I'm not familiar enough with the different kinds to identify what's most present (ie. Frankincense, Myrrh etc) but I love it! Like just a very strong, deep, rounded incense smell with a coconut musk backbone if you really hunt for it. IMO the coconut just rounds out the fragrance and makes it more sensual and approachable. This scent LASTS. I've smelled it through other scents, in the shower, like at least 24 hours later. Probably the longest lasting scent of any perfume or oil I have tried. Moisture or a surge of body heat seem to refresh it. Sillage is moderate, good for an oil. I'm considering mixing it with perfumer's alcohol and using it as a spray, to see how it changes the fragrance. I'll report back with results if I do.

This is a white floral , people. Starts with bright, sparkly jasmine with lipstick powder, and dries down to a creamy, slightly powdery and tropical gardenia with tuberose . Give it a couple of hours and judge by the drydown rather than the initial scent, the beauty appears when it starts to dry down. The coconut is not present in any other way than the coconutty fascets of these flowers. This is not at all similar to Bronze Goddess in any other sense than it being a tropical, almost sun lotion-y in the drydown, white floral. I'm impressed and highly recommend getting this oil. Use it on its own or sparingly when layering (with coconut, gourmands, other white florals). Applied more heavily it appears more soapy. Nice to layer with musk and powdery scents.

Notes according to Al-rashad.com: Top note: Ylang Ylang, Bergamot, Black Currant Middle note: Orchid, Fruity notes, Lotus wood Base note: Patchouli, Incense, Sandalwood To me, this is predominantly ylang ylang, which in For Ever is rich, heady, and definitely has that ripe bananas smell. I think that's what gives it a tropical, beachy vibe because I don't smell any coconut. Under the ylang ylang I detect a bit of white floral and incense, but this is definitely a ylang ylang fragrance. I like this in warmer months and always get compliments. Like most Arabian oils, the silage and longevity are excellent. I applied some yesterday and this morning I still smell like an island breeze. :)

I'm wearing Forever tonight and I can discern the orchid, coconut, and a creamy note. There is a touch of uniqueness coming in from the lotus (I think). Forever is sweet but I would not call this a gourmand. It is unique, long lasting and projects moderately. Not similar to Crystal Noir nor any sunscreen type. It is a very particular scent, like adding sweet coconut pulp to L'eau D'Issey. Not for everyone. The temp is 80F tonight so blooming notes might be different in cooler weather. BTW, this is great for layering under sweet, heavy fragrance eg. Jasmin Wisp or Erba Pura type to punch up that coconut and orchid tropical exoticism.

A powdery and sweet gourmand at the top, with notes of toasted coconut, melting butter, warm vanilla, rose, definitely figs, and there's smoky frankincense and oregano in the heart (or, if you like, marijuana - a distinct herbal accord). Cedar appears too. On me it is too dry to be tropical, but then I live in a desert setting, and to me it has more of a camping in a desert sensation. What remains after several hours is herbal, balsam, and vanilla over any floral. Coconut lingers but is a shadow of what it was in the opening. Strong, gorgeous ingredients, sensual. Projection is close to the skin. Unisex.
