Haramain Detour Eco

So this stuff is interesting. I wanted to get my nose on an oud-ish type of frag but I didn't wanna go completely crazy on the price. I'll admit, I don't detect much of what I recall oud being. I don't own much if any real oud frags, so my nose on this is a little bad. How do I describe this smell? Christmas is a good start. Lol. A masculine, Christmasy winter frag. Lots of the cedar shining through with a good dose of praline. Maybe it's my nose, but I wish I got more lavender out of this, but I still smell it, along with the saffron. TINY bit of what I think is an oud type of vibe. Very little, enough to tickle your nose a little bit. Lot's of comparisons that I get here from stuff in my current collection. Namely, I get a lot of what I remember Haltane smelling like when I sampled it in a store, but this stuff is tamed down and a tiny bit different, oddly, it's piney-ness reminds me a lot of the original Polo, I get a tiny bit of BR540, a tiny bit of that kind of classic PDM kind of syrupy thing that I got sampling Kalen, Layton, Haltane, and Pegasus, they all seem to sort of have this distinctive thing, while all smelling different. This seems to have that, but definitely dampened down. A buddy of myne gave this a simple review saying "it smells like just plain cologne", and for some reason, I sort of agree, thankfully it doesn't seem so generic that I won't wear it, I'll actually even wear it over my original Polo because it performs better so thats a plus already. It kind of meets most all the vibes to make a slightly generic to me, masculine smelling concoction. Its a bit deep and dark, making it great for colder weather. I also very much want to mention that I had two people compliment this saying it smelled very much like Stetson to them. I giggle, because now that I've been getting my nose all over all kinds of frags, I can't really see the similarity, to me Stetson was like a cowboy kind of vibe, whereas this has a touch of that but namely its the sweetness that steers this in a different direction, so I can't really see its similarity, but that's what more inexperienced noses told me. Lol. Longevity was "iffy" on my first wearing, giving me about 8-10 hours of reasonable performance, but I can tell immediately like almost every other clone I've ever bought, it'll have its month or so to "mature" and like all the others, will have even better performance, and I've even noticed that the synthetic-ness (which thankfully is a little lighter on this frag) and notes all seem to kind of get even better too, so I look forward to this. All in all, I saved $250 on Haltane, as I don't think I'll be grabbing that for the price, especially when you can get pretty close here. I really enjoy this, as do most other reviewers. Really great date night sort of vibe, you could wear it to work, kind of an all vibe colder weather frag.

EDIT 12/24 scent is still amazing as ever gotten even better with time but my god the atomizer is so hard to press down, did not have this issue with the og detour noir I purchased this Detour Noir Eco about two weeks ago, and from the moment I opend it, I loved it. It opens with a bold, rich oud that's loud, accompanied by a refreshing lavender undertone that adds an unexpected coolness. The initial sharpness of the oud may be overwhelming to some, but it softens within about ten minutes, making it a manageable scent for daily wear during the cold months. After this initial phase, the fragrance evolves into something delightful and almost edible. You’re enveloped in a warm, cookie-like sweetness from the praline, perfectly balanced with a robust cedar and pine aroma. This combination creates an inviting scent that feels just right for cooler weather. The oud remains present but becomes a smooth, harmonious backdrop, allowing the sweeter notes to shine. While I haven’t experienced other oud-centric fragrances like Haltane or the Oud for Greatness clones, I’ve read that this scent is more approachable. I find myself reaching for it regularly during cold months, whether I'm heading to university or the office. The longevity is impressive after spraying it on at 8 AM, I can still catch whiffs at 5 PM. I typically apply 1-2 sprays on my wrists and 4 around my neck and chest. Today, however, my girlfriend mentioned I might have overdone it, which is a comment no fragrance enthusiast wants to hear! So, a word of caution, be mindful of your application. That said, it’s kind of cool/scary to think this fragrance may intensify as it macerates, matures whatever, and I’ll be sure to update my review if it evolves further. it was $35 plus shipping from Jomas Shop, this fragrance is an incredible bargain. The blend of cedar and pine truly captures the essence of wandering through a tranquil, snow-covered forest. It evokes the comforting warmth of a cozy log cabin, enhanced by a sweet, cookie-like aroma that draws you in. While the bottle design feels a bit awkward in the hand, it does feature a convenient pressurized atomizer that adds to the overall experience. I’m absolutely in love with it definitely a solid 9.5/10

Haramain Detour Eco Al Haramain vs Haltane Parfums de Marly From the presentation and bottle, most can guess Detour Eco is a direct dupe for Haltane and it is. It costs about 10% and lesser of the cost of the Haltane. By the way the new Detour bottles have some improvements on sprayer compared to the og Detour Noir when it first came out. Here I am with my decant of Haltane and doing the last of the review for Detour Eco, the last of the 3 new Detour releases. Detour Eco opens up really nice and freshie, it's bergamot and lavender are more pronounced and the praline giving the sweetness is also louder. The saffron and oud sits behind giving the support and doesn't really stands out. THIS is the main difference in direct comparison with Haltane. Haltane is better quality and more well blended on the overall notes, you can get the oud and patchouli leather and the bergamot/lavender blends in better and isn't as pronounced as in the Eco, also it's less sweet than the Eco. However, I will say Detour Eco is the best of the 3 new Detour. Smells the best and close enough to about 80-90% other than the above differences. Detour Noir Intense is the worse with the strong tiger balm smell. Detour Exclusif Noir has longevity but smells weaker because the og is really loud. If you are looking to smell similar to Haltane, it's safe to blind buy Detour Eco But if you area fan of Oud for Greatness, it isn't close at all. Haltane is just an easier wear for OFG but there's still differences and Detour Eco has even more since it's a like a fresher version of Haltane. But Detour Eco is good enough and close enough since there are no other decently well known brands copying Haltane. All you need is give it 30 minutes or so and both smells so similar as the more pronounced bergamot and lavender in Detour Eco starts to sit back. I'll gladly give it a 9/10 for copying Haltane. Really value for money as I got my tester for $35 Singapore dollars. One of the best dupes I've tested recently vs the og.

Just got Detour Eco and I must say it is beautiful! It smells similar to Oud For Glory but better! I sold my Oud For Glory a few months ago because it wasn’t really doing it for me.. but Eco hits the spot, It’s alot fresher, greener and sweeter. I recently smelt PDM Haltane in the shop and knew I had to get Eco to compare and I must say they smell identical. Detour Eco smells like Our For Glory and BR540 combined. Maybe BR540 on testosterone making it very masculine. Today it was 20 Degrees Celsius and the scent was travelling and performing like a beast. Easily 10+ hours it lasts. I Sprayed it on the back of my hand and then washed my hands multiple times and even had a shower.. I CAN STILL SMELL IT. Very happy with my purchase.. not a safe blind buy. My wife hated Oud For Glory with a passion but weirdly she said she likes Eco.. I put it down to the sweetness and freshness that OFG was missing. Not sure how this will smell in the summer but I can say it’ll be great in the cold EDIT: this is a beast mode fragrance hands down absolute banger ☢️ I wore this to work 3 sprays.. my work colleague said that they could smell me before they even saw me and they could still smell me even when I had left the building. I put 2 sprays on a tester strip on Friday night it is now Thursday and it legit has become an air freshener for the room because some how it is still on the strip and within 3 feet I can still smell it. Up close when you smell the strip it is still projecting and smells absolutely beautiful. My wife even said that she could still smell ECO in the room days after I wore it. I usually like to cycle through my collection but for the first time in a very long time this scent is the one I’m reaching for. This is a very mature smell not youthful at all.This this is for a powerful confident masculine man who knows who he is and wants to leave an impression. This for me is 100/10 best scent I own

Lavender is a very prominent note here instead of traditional oakmoss, though you will notice a classical soapy aldehyde note in here. The oud, a note which normally would be polarizing at its best, is softened by the lavender and aldehydes quite nicely, smoothing it out and making it pleasant to the nose. This is a great modern take on the classical aromatic fougere fragrance DNA, but the soapy aldehydes may still remind users of outdated fragrances their father or grandfather used in times past rather than bring up nostalgic feelings. This is quite versatile, able to work in both serious and social occasions. Performance is strong, especially the drydown. This is designer quality at a discount price. The entire Al Haramain line isn't shy about using Parfums de Marley as its inspiration and this one nails it as well. The oud and soapy notes make it lean a bit too masculine for female users. Stunning fragrance, easily 95%+ (the highest any clone can go, 100% is obviously impossible) similar to Haltane. Haltane itself smells something like 70-80% Oud for Greatness, with more emphasis on an omnipresent airy saffron note (most accurately like Outcast Blue from Ex Nihilo, more generally like BR540 without the candy floss), against a backdrop of a similar cedar-oud combo to those found in TF Oud Wood or Thameen Carved Oud. The oud itself is pretty subdued but absolutely noticeable behind the lavender-praline sweetness, and this would be a fantastic beginner oud scent just like OFG or Oud Wood themselves. With that said, even people more experienced with oud will likely love this - it's just so damn good. It's one of those scents that you want to spray directly up your nostrils while bathing in a pool of it. It's rare to get that effect from a clone but so far this line is 3 for 3 (Noir, Exclusif, and now Eco) for me... Big love.

Finally! The famous Detour line has expanded their repertoire to include other PDM offerings at a more than affordable price point! Of course with that being said, it is the detour line so when it comes to the overall complexity of the cologne compared to the OG it will be lacking, but is it $320 lacking? No way. This is by far the best Haltane attempt I have ever smelled. The opening is slightly sweeter and less floral than Haltane... But that dry down! In my opinion, it kinda skips the floral opening and goes straight to the woody, praline note with some of the citrus shining through. Longevity is not as good as Haltane, nor is its projection, I would use a couple extra sprays to compete. Overall this is a 90-93% clone at a fantastic price point. You simply cannot go wrong here!

Literally a spice bomb. As in not THE Spicebomb (V&R), but a bomb of spice. Its also changed over a few weeks. Eco opens with a nostril flaring greenness, the same sort of effect (though not same note) as Mouse Illuminee or Eucris, for example. A nutty, woody accord asserts itself as the scent develops. First few weeks that drydown came far too quickly, sort of baked biscuits dusted with nutmeg. Tbh it was a bit of a meh. Now the opening is smoother (though strong), however the green and brown notes stay around and are in balance. Theres also a slight sweetness. I like this but it's not subtle, I've learnt to go easy on the trigger - my bottle will likely last forever. 3.5/5

This fragrance blew me away. I was gifted this by my girlfriend and she only paid $17 dollars. This is everything Haltane has and more. It's just as strong if not stronger, lasts long, has more praline sweetness while still being a dark oud scent. My girlfriend started off not liking it but she loves it and wants me to put it on everything i buy her. Two of my friends saw me apply it and bought it themselves because they liked it so much. Such a great buy and honestly one of my favorite fragrances. If you are planning on buying this because you want Haltane it is not a 1:1 and it smells almost like a separate fragrance. 9.3/10 for smell 8.9/10 for longevity

Absolutely love this!!! Sprayed a few testers on my wrist, and have been cleaning house. I keep on getting whiffs and immediately think.... what is that mysterious, addictive, salty smell????... then remember. Spicy, woody, green.... and a warm powdery richness about it (prob lavender). Now I have been a victim of too many bad clones, that I break into a cold sweat when I see the notes oud and saffron. But I bravely pulled the trigger on this one anyway. The oud is what makes this fragrance so special and addictive. It gives it a rich, sharp smell.... and a salty tang. Can't believe this is such a cheapie.

AMAZING!!! Wonderful cheap green fragrance that kind of reminds me of Polo a little, and also Fragrance World Imperium X/Roja Apex. It's incredibly strong, slightly sweet, very spicy, very woody, and very green. Even though it's very heavy it is also kind of fresh. I don't mean fresh in an aquatic way, but in a walking through the forest kind of way. I think this can actually be worn all year long. I saw another reviewer comparing it to Savauge Elixir and I can kind of smell that after several hours of wear. This would be right at home in any 80's powerhouse fans collection.

An almost exact dupe of Haltane. One difference I notice is that Haltane softens and turns creamy in the dry-down. This does not. It says rugged and masculine the whole time. The one bad thing is that I have had two bottles of this so far, and the part of the atomizer where you push down and the fragrance comes out (the spray nozzle I guess?) on both has failed. I took the one from another fragrance I had that ran out and it fit and it works great now, but keep that in mind. I was thinking I was going to have to decant it and put it in another bottle.

To my nose, this is brighter than OFG. Much closer to Haltane. Just lacks the quality blend and depth Haltane has. But...for $60 AUD, this is a monster fragrance with fantastic projection and longevity. It’s seriously good juice for the price range. Punches way above six tenners. As the reviewer below me says, this is a fantastic clone if you’re looking to spend a few dollars. For anyone that can’t justify $350 AUD for a bottle of Haltane, this is your best bet. While OFG is a good scent, this smells brighter and classier. Well worth the plunge.

I mean, I paid £30 for this, and I'm contemplating selling my many other designer cool weather frags. PDM, Chanel, Dior, YSL, JPG... all of you big houses need to pay attention here. Al Haramain are knocking out a fragrance here (albeit, a clone) that smells absolutely insane, lasts forever and pushes out all day long for well below what you sell your wares for. This is how it should be done, every, single, time. Will be purchasing another bottle for backup this winter, and will probably grab another one early next year just to stock up.

Mine smelled nice from the start, but was not on par with the OG or even LattafaOFG, but having set it aside for a few months this is now a banger. For the price, it's stunning. The bottles suck but that pressurized atomizer is, for something that's so cheap, embarrassing to more expensive perfumes with shite atomizers. Amazing value. Still enough difference from the Lattafa and even Mancera Eternal Wood for me to like those individually, but I feel zero need to buy Haltane now.

Best fragrance of the three new Detour releases, while the other two have exceptional quality for the price this somehow ramped it up a bit more. Very strong, easily lasted the whole day for me and projects very well. The sprayer on my bottle is amazing and the smell is exceptional. If you get any fragrance from the new releases in my opinion this should be the first. Al Haramain out did themselves with this release, fantastic purchase for the price.

amazing how good this stuff is... i own both a sampler and a big bottle of PDM Haltane, and have gone thru several bottles of Oud for Glory, i prefer Haltane to OFG but not by a lot, both are some of my favs and most worn, this is better than both, stronger, longer lasting, and smells even better to me, spicier, more oud, cedar and sage, a little less praline and powdery smell... and a tenth the price fo Haltane...

Great copy Of Parfums De Marley Haltane 95% the same. Only difference I can smell so far is Haltane has abit more depth to the smell, slightly better blended & the leather note smells a little nicer. The only people that will be able to smell the difference is yourself if you do them side by side or another fragrance lover. Absolutely worth the price. Great atomiser. Sillage slightly less on Eco but not by much.

Way more fresh, and herbal in the beginning, Close to Haltane but not identical, somewhere around 85-90%, but it really shines in the dry down and becomes more similar to Haltane. Well, do not expect anything crazy, although it is a no brainer for the price. Longevity, easy 6 hours, stays on clothes longer, I could feel it the next day. Compliments? Yes, especially the first hour after applying.

an absolute masterpiece of a fragrance. wouldn't say a blind buy because i already tested the og at the store. would say 90-95% similar to the og. beautifully blended and smooth throughout the transition from the opening to the dry down. excellent spl and atomizer. for less than $30? an absolute bang for buck. would definitely recommend

This dupe lacks of the strong sage note of PdM, is sweeter and fresher than Haltane, which to my taste is better. I wear it to a halloween party, but i thought it didn't smell much actually, my girlfriend had to put his nose right into my neck to glance the smell, at the next day, the shirt filled the living room with that rich smell

Guys this is so close to the OG! Great value for money. I had to let it macerate for a month first. After a month it’s a beauty great fragrance will recommend it. For me it’s the Oud and earthiness combination giving it a nice twist to the whole OFG DNA. Lasts around 8hours for me but that’s because I overspray!!

Never tried the orignal one and I don’t think I need that as well from 3 new detoirs this one is the only best to me tried all 3 and oh boy this one smells way expensive and sexy. Performance 6hrs on skin even after shower I can smell it on my skin overall longevity is good

You don't need to buy PDM Haltane! This is an amazing dupe and performance is better with Detour Eco. Highly recommend it. Also, I did have to macerate this for a couple of months. But well worth it given the change in scent and performance.

It reminds me of cough syrup in the couple of minutes of spraying it but after that it settles down and smells much better . Great longevity on skin and on clothes can say it's my favourite frag because of performance and cost

best of detour noir It has a very pleasant scent, powerful and long-lasting performance. In this price range, it has incredible quality, it makes you not need to buy Haltan and Oud Four Greatness.

Been wearing this the last 2 days. Blessed with an appearance akin to a bulldog chewing a wasp, it’s rare I get compliments, but I got one yesterday. Outstanding cheapie. Get all over this.

First thing I thought when I smelled this one was Oud for Glory. But nicer. I’m a fragrance noob so take my opinion for a grain of salt but this stuff is good. I keep smelling myself.

Shockingly good for 22 Euros. In terms of smell AND performance. Day and night, can see this working from 5 degrees Celsius up to 20 degrees Celsius. Second bottle underway.

If you like the Haltane DNA fire away. This is fantastic value and it smells quality. Very impressive longevity and projection. The Oud accord is lovely.

I’ve tried haltane twice and this is probably 95% similar. Everything about it is amazing for the price, smells expensive.

This is 90% oud for greatness and 10% Haltane. Very good scent and especially for the price.

Flat out all you need to know about this fragrance is that if you’ve tried Oud for Greatness from Initio, this is similar to that, but it’s a bit of an easier pill to swallow. Oud for Greatness has a big focus on oud (obviously) and spices. While Eco incorporates both of those, this also has sweet florals, bright citrus and a sugary almond-like note from the praline. This is definitely very inspired by Haltane from Parfums de Marly. To the average nose, maybe even some of you more experienced people, it’s basically the same if you’re smelling it on its own without Haltane for comparison. I have to say, the performance on Detour Eco is really good. I can still smell it pretty well on my shirt 13 hours after applying. The projection based off my 3-4 wears of Eco has shown to be good, I’d say 2-3 hours of really solid projection before it becomes a bit more of a bubbled-up fragrance, but still projects nicely within a foot or two. Wearability on this is better than something like Oud for Greatness because of the better crowd-pleasing factor. It’s sweeter and more playful while also being bold and sexy at the same time. I’d recommend this for most fall/winter occasions and spring nighttime occasions. This in my opinion is a step up from the slightly disappointing Detour Noir, good job Haramain :) Scent - 9/10 Performance - 8/10 Versatility / Wearability - 7/10

Bought this because I like Haltane. 30% like Haltane in the opening. I'd say its MAYBE 70% there in the dry down. Same DNA as Oud for Glory but very different. Eco is definitely fresher than Haltane. I get a decent amount of lavender in this. Smelling Haltane and Eco side by side, they don't smell very similar until about 30-40min in. I smell prominent cedar in Eco with a touch of animal-ness. Haltane is a lot darker and richer. Haltane smells more of leather and animal-ness. I have no idea. Like I'm smelling a fur of an animal in the woods. As I'm writing this, the differences are starting to show more clearly going back and forth. Eco smells like a piece of dry lumber on a winter day. Haltane is more like you're in an old log cabin on a cold, wet evening. Something about Haltane is so much deeper and darker. I wish I could describe it better. I’d say Eco is distinct enough from Oud for Glory to justify purchasing it. OFG smells more incense like and less woody and smells more like BR540 than Haltane. Eco is easily easier to wear than OFG personally. Overall, Eco is good INSPIRED fragrance. Don't be disappointed or misled—it will definitely remind you of Haltane, but it's still a long way from being considered a clone. Noses may vary, get a decant of both and see for yourself. 8/10

I love this one. I don't own Haltane and don't care if this is close or not(it is close AF). But this is, in its own category, one of the easiest approaches to saffron oud. It achieves a very difficult feat, of being dense, powerful but somewhat fresh for the profile. Amazing value for the money, can't go wrong with it if you like the profile. I own and love Oud for Greatness by Initio and it has some similarities, but it's different enough, OFG is sweeter and more refined, way less synthetic, but I can't pull it off in a warm afternoon, it's too much. Detour eco has a fresh element that is hard to explain, as this is far away from a fresh scent profile, but in it's realm, i think it's interestingly tame, to a point that you can pull it off in almost any occasion. If you like the profile, try it out, it's a beautiful scent and in my opinion, despite of the haltane comparison, i think this has its own appeal. And come on, for less than 40 bucks, definitely a no brainer.

If I bought Haltane, I'd reach it for like 3x per year or so, so I went with Eco. (blind buy) Initially, I was not 100% sold on it. When I got it, I could mostly pick up the super amber base, not sure about exactly what they use. (Ambermax/Ambroxan/Amber XTreme?) Reached for it today after around 1 year and it smells more balanced, as if the aroma chemicals settled and blended better together. There's a lot of B.S. when people talk about "maceration". The fact is that it won't work any miracles, but here I believe it did something. Perhaps the super ambers, as highly volatile molecules, got a little weaker and the other ingredients are now more prominent. I own Initio Oud for Greatness, and this is on that realm, only that I find Detour/Haltane a little more wearable as it is not too sweet and have a more fresh-oudy touch (Cypriol oil western-like oud, nothing fecal or animalic) Too me, a very nice 8/10 Solid 8/10 considering the incredible price.

I bought this fragrance because it’s supposed to be a clone of PDM Haltane. Detour Eco opens citrusy & sweet with some oud. In the dry down, it stays sweet and the oud becomes more prominent. I like this fragrance, and so far, maceration isn’t needed (it smelled great out of the box). Compared to Haltane, I prefer Detour Eco. Haltane has animalic and musky notes that are pronounced in the opening and linger in the dry down. The oud is also stronger in Haltane. Detour Eco is more versatile, while Haltane suits nights and fall/winter better. What impresses me about Detour Eco is its lack of the synthetic smell common in other Middle Eastern dupes. For the price of $21, this fragrance will be part of my regular rotation. In terms of a Haltane comparison, this fragrance is 85% to 90% similar.

I bought this purportedly for my bf and I'm keeping a bottle for myself bc it's lovely. Very green and masculine and fresh and spicy, but with a sweetness at the heart of it that I can't quite put my finger on or name the notes to. They say praline but a) I don't remember what a praline smells like and b) it's something organic, something I've smelled before in nature and can't quite place. Edit: (I'm sorry to say that I realized what it smells like, and I fear that it's...the enriched molasses-laced feed that grass-fed cows get in the winter in the piney ferny hinterlands. But trust me, it smells delectable)

This is okay. Nothing special, I have several in my collection that are similar. Again, once you hit 100+ fragrances, it's rare when you smell something unique. A touch of fruity sweetness on a wood base. Dries down to powder. Not real loud, lasts a good 8+ hours. Very masculine. Lends itself to cold weather/evening wear. I bought into the hype and bought, but for 20 bucks, it's not bad and I don't regret. I'm not a huge fan of Detour Noir; was hoping this one would knock my socks off and change my mind about the line. Sadly, it doesn't. Like but don't love.

The opening is quite different from haltane. Haltane is smooth, this is pretty sour from the bergamot. After a while once it dries down (20-30min.) it's quite close haltane. It lacks some of the smoothness of haltane but it's still very weareable. I think it will become smoother once it macerates more. Definitely a great buy if you don't want to spend money on the real deal. The only big downside of this fragrance is the horrible bottle design. I just hate how it looks. I can't even have it on display, it looks gimmicky and cheap. Atomizer is great tho.

I love Haltane and wore it every day for 2 months, because of this Detour Eco is a nice reminder of what Haltane smells like however lacks the smoothness and lack some notes of Haltane. Haltane has a smokeyness in the opening which this doesn't have. The sweetness is the closest but the oud isn't quite there however improves in the drydown. I still wear it and to most noses they wouldn’t tell the difference unless they knew Haltane well. Overall its close enough that I would recommend.
