Junoon

I recently acquired Junoon, Royal Musk Powdery, and Teint de Neige. And I honestly can't believe how similar they all are! The other two are most certainly influenced by it. I would say that the opening of TdN reminds me of Bvlgari pour femme ever so briefly, then it turns into sweet powder. A powder that I wouldn't call distinctly floral, not a hint of syrup or anything like that. Then after a few minutes it starts smelling like Junoon. Junoon does start off with something that smells slightly synthetic but it fades quickly. I can only describe this powder as smelling warm and feminine and sweet. It reminds me of baby powder from the first spray but it turns into almost a sweet biscuit. Royal Musk Powdery by Surrati honestly smells exactly like Junoon but even warmer, perhaps with some more vanilla. It's an oil fragrance with a dabber stick. It allows for a much more intimate sillage depending on how much you use, and a bit more control of where you put it. I've noticed that Junoon gives me a bigger headache compared to TdN, but it's more likely to happen to me when sprayed in a closed room. Surprisingly Surrati Royal Musk does not give me a headache at all, and is suitable for bedtime without being overwhelming. If you are wondering, Bvlgari pour Femme does not smell anything like these. The iris in this and Splendida Iris D'Or (which smell the same) is cool rather than warm and noticeably more floral. TdN, Junoon, and the Surrati smell like a warm embrace, whereas Bvlgari pour Femme smells like a very elegant woman who has no time for chit chat.

Okay so powdery fragrances are my favorite category of fragrances, so I might be a bit biased here. There weren't many fragrances that were a "love at first sniff" as people say. But THISSS... THIS was a love at first sniff, and it is a powder BOMB like... this is the most powdery fragrance that I have ever smelled. The projection and longevity are definitely a BEAST, and I can smell this on my clothes days later. Is it the most unique and complicated fragrance? No. In fact, it's pretty linear which makes it amazing for layering. I love wearing this by itself and my mom ALWAYS compliments me whenever I wear it. Someone said this is what they imagine Marilyn Monroe's makeup room smelled like, and I completely agree. If you don't like powdery fragrances, then chances are you will probably not like this, but I LOVE it. My 2 favorite fragrances in the world are Kenzo Amour and Al Haramain Junoon, which are both powdery fragrances and while I love wearing them separately, Personally I LOVE layering both Kenzo Amour and Al Haramain Junoon because, while I am not the biggest layering fanatic, I find that they complement each other VERY well. While they don't smell the same, they are definitely in the same family and are both pretty linear which makes them great for layering. I always test my fragrances in front of my mom, and she had a *particularly* good reaction to this layering combo. I walked past her, and she stopped and said "mmmmm what is THAT? That smells sooo good, I really love that one." 10/10 fragrance I already have a backup bottle.

Junoon is a very straight-forward dry, powdery scent. It's more reminiscent of makeup powder than baby powder to my nose. There is a bit of vanilla and some floral notes, but it's mostly powder. Quite linear, this perfume nearly begs to be layered and I find that it compliments many floral, sweet, and/or aldehydic scents. I prefer to spray this one from a bit of a distance; pooling the fragrance makes it smell too sharp, especially up close. Junoon is one of the most long-lasting perfumes in my collection. It easily lasts all day and well into the evening, and I have skin that devours fragrance. A couple small spritzes are all I need to be surrounded by soft powdery clouds. With this method, Junoon functions wonderfully as an everyday scent, even appropriate for the office as it smells more clean than perfumey. I couldn't imagine this would offend anyone around you unless you sprayed heavily. For the wearer, however, you must enjoy powder-dominant fragrances or this will haunt you all day long. This wavers between a love and a like for me. I prefer Al Haramain's Junoon Noir in general, but Junoon just works so well as an everyday fragrance, when I simply don't know what to wear, or when I need a long-lasting base for other scents. I even enjoy spraying a bit on my pillow in the evenings; it's very comforting.

I finally got this perfume and it's like a hybrid between Iris by L'Erbolario and Teint de Neige (leaning more towards TdN), which makes me very happy because I would bathe in this type of powdery scents if I could and I have both the above mentioned in my collection, too. Amazing, fluffy, comforting, high quality dry powder bomb, that's how Junoon smells. :) Floral and vanillic, slightly sweet (but only slightly, just the right amount of sweetness). It has this creamy iris note I love so much in perfumes and I can't get enough of it. Truly powerful scent. It has a bit of a baby powder and a bit of a makeup powder smell in it, too. The 75 ml bottle looks big and the amount of the juice there is pretty nice for the price (so I can indulge myself in this beauty as much as I want). I got it yesterday and after just one spray it quickly made it into my favorite perfumes. If you enjoy this type of powdery scents (with a really, really prominent powdery note, unlike in the case of many other perfumes that are described as powdery but the powdery note is barely noticeable there), you will enjoy this gem for sure. For me, it was a blind buy based on Fragrantica reviews. Thank you, dear reviewers. :)

The scent is like the powdery snowfall which covers a town like a blanket, the hush that falls upon the land as snow falls, like Robert Frosts poem 'Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening.' There are no woods as far as I can, but I do indeed have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep. The perfume helps me feel comfortable and peaceful during that journey. Powder, Tonka bean, lovely. Unlike Chanel no 5 or No 5 Eau Premiere, which it slightly hints at, it doesn't make my stomach turn with uneasiness. Something about No 5 Eau Premiere and even L'eau, make me feel a bit sweaty and uneasy, maybe from affecting some survival part of the brain. With this I feel quiet, peaceful, safe. Longevity is above average. Sillage was moderate to me but I think from wearing it daily I've become used to it and unable to smell it very strongly It layers well alongside all kinds of perfumes and improves them. A backdrop that can work with anxious people such as myself. The drydown is my favourite part. It smells even better the next day. Unisex to me, like most perfumes by this brand, but leaning towards feminine for others I suppose. Instant favourite for daily use.

This perfume is nuclear! Smells great, but the silage and longevity are beyond comprehension. Literally lasted 16 hours with just one spritz, and if I didn't wash it off I've no doubt it would have had the same throw the next day. Agreed - it does remind me of Teint, but I think this is actually a little more complex. At least I can pick up the floral notes, whereas I can't say the same about Teint, which at times smells like straight baby powder to me. This is such a fluffy floral powder that doesn't smell the least bit babyish, though it did make my significant other want to cuddle. The dreamy, creamy, vanilla, tonka, dry down is so soft and comforting. I am in love! Still, I'm debating whether to buy a bottle. A bottle would probably be more than I could use in a lifetime – or 5 lifetimes – especially when I get bored so easily and have tons of perfumes literally sitting unworn for years. Fortunately, I've found a seller on eBay who sells samples. At the small amount needed to be enveloped in an unending perfume cloud this decant will probably give me a year of wears to see if this is everlasting love or just a madcap fling.

This is the review I left on Swiss Arabian musk 74 page which is pretty much an exact dupe of the OG Junoon by Al haramain. With junoon you get a bigger bottle for half the price. Top notes of junoon are Powdery Notes, Rose, Ylang-Ylang and Jasmine; middle notes are Iris, Tonka Bean, Rose and Jasmine; base notes are Heliotrope, Musk and Vanilla. Musk 74 Top notes are Aldehydes, Musk and Ylang Ylang; middle notes are Heliotrope, White Musk, White Flowers and Iris; base notes are Powdery Notes, Musk, Vanilla and Balsamic Notes. Both perfumes are a baby powder bombs on a background of vanilla, soft musk and very faint soft florals. Both have excellent performance. Note that junoon needs some maceration time to settle down and blend it's notes. When I first got it it came off quite mature as but after some maceration it's a soft lovely scent.

Junoon is fabulous. It is powdery and sweet and almost sugar cookie gourmand in the drydown. But make no mistake powder is the star of the show. I have worn this in every season and somehow it works, even in the summer. In cold weather Junoon feels cuddly and warm. In hot weather Junoon feels shower clean and fresh. At bedtime? Perfect. Elegant and somehow casual too, Junoon goes everywhere. I love it and have gone through almost an entire bottle in record time. Will never be without Junoon in my collection. I own Teint de Neige as well and they are very similar but I prefer Junoon as it’s a bit warmer and wears smoother on my skin. Better lasting power too. TdN is also beautiful and has a metallic coldness that sets it apart from Junoon. Honestly I love them both for different reasons but I find myself reaching for Junoon more often.

I paid 40 and for that price it is worth it. I wouldn’t pay anything more for it. If you have a ME nose, this not strong as the comments below suggested. In my opinion it’s Teinte de Neige but better because it doesn’t have a rough around the edges opening. TdN has the stronger sillage and opening, but quickly becomes irritating because of the heliotrope. Here, they’ve put مسك بودرة, that you get in the Middle East everywhere in small vials, for less than a dollar, into perfume bottle. If you know that smell then that is exactly what this is. You have to like powdery fragrances that smell like dove soap. It’s a pretty clean scent with a beautiful sillage. That said, 2-3 sprays with this is enough. Anymore contradicts the scent itself. It evokes no emotion in me which is perfect for my use case for this - just clean and inoffensive.

I would classify this as a comfort scent. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely need this in my collection! The initial spray is a bit overwhelming but once it sets in, it becomes this soft, ethereal but familiar powder scent. Something between what your mother's lipstick used to smell like in the 80s and your newly born baby's skin after a soothing bath. Plain comfort. I could wear this all year round and any time of day since I think it's pretty inoffensive. I'm not an oversprayer so I wouldn't consider this beastmode but rather a moderate lasting scent with decent sillage (I've been wearing it for three days and only my daughter has commented I smell like roses). That said, it was one of the successful blind buys and I find myself reaching for it many times throughout the day. 8,5/10

Welcome heavy powder lovers ! Junoon is an extremely long lasting vanilla powder with strong to moderate projection lasting easily 8 hours, then calms to a soft cloud for another 5 hours easily. Leaves a beautiful powdery trail until you wash it off. Junoon is gorgeous on its own, totally feminine, and a wonderful base you can use to amp up the powder, projection and longevity in lighter powdery scents. Compared to Ombre Rose, there are similarities, but Junoon has less rose, more vanilla, and Junoon is a heavier, stronger powder. I LOVE Junoon ! It's affordable niche with excellent quality. Great blind buy for anyone who adores heavy powder fragrances. Thanks to all who reviewed it here and who mentioned it in other threads. Junoon is a winner for me !

I just received it and I am wearing it. It is identical to my beloved Loukhoum by Keiko Mecheri, which I have every version of, from the most vintage to the modern. I seriously can not tell any difference between them, so I am thinking that Junoon might be a dupe for Loukhoum... Looking at the "reminds me of" section, I want to ask who in the heck is putting Chanel No. 5 down? Are you missing your nose? They are not even closely related, let alone alike. Junoon is very pretty, nothing new for me, just the opportunity to preserve my lovely Loukhoums and be able to wear this instead. Junoon Noir is ways ahead, if you pay for this more than 35 bucks, you have overpaid. FragranceX has them on sale right now. Or you can save up and get Loukhoum instead :)

Yes, Junoon is powdery, but I don't care, because it's the *right* kind of powder, the iris-rose-jasmine vintage-powder smell. I don't get much of the usual baby-powder accord, except from the musk and, of course, the powder. I do get plenty of iris, though, if not quite as much as with Junoon Noir, which is rather creamier. Junoon is truly a superlative fresh-out-of-your-leisurely-bath-but-all-day-and-all-night-long variety, beast mode performer. On paper and fabric, it's effectively eternal. I could smell it clearly on a test strip close to a week after I sprayed it. It outperformed several perfumes that cost thrice as much. Of course, tenacity is no advantage if you don't love or at least like the fragrance, and fortunately I do.

I don’t get anything baby from this scent. I get old fashioned makeup and perfume. It’s a BEAST so you really have to be into this powdery, strong kind of smell. I love it, but the rose and ylang ylang are a bit too powerful for me, especially rose can turn my stomach a little. Was hoping for even more straight forward powder, but it’ll do the job and for that price it’s a great perfume if you adore powdery scents. Edit: I’ve worn Junoon for a few days now and I was wrong. It’s quickly become one of my all time fave fragrances. The rose is really only in the opening. It is true that it is strong but it doesn’t last. The dry down is pure powder and absolutely gorgeous and feminine. It smells of luxury and indulgence in the senses.

I already wrote my review for this perfume, but as I collect powdery scents, I would like to comment on another great realistic powder scent that is sadly not in the Fragrantica's database yet and is very, very similar to Junoon by Al Haramain and Teint de Neige by Lorenzo Villoresi (I own and love both of them). The perfume I'm talking about is Royal Musk Sweet Powdery by Surrati. I hope this perfume is going to be added into database at some point. It could be great and affordable dupe for the Junoon and TdN perfumes. So powdery and comforting.. Just beautiful... Delicate combination of iris, rose, vanilla and musk. If you love scents like this give it a try if you have a chance. :) You won't regret it.

Excellent perfume that has good sillage and longevity ! Main notes are powder, musk , vanilla and something that smells similar to magnolia to me . Overall this has a cashmere type personality and also layers very well with other scents . To me it smells like a subdued floral and powdery fragrance that has a retro vibe. The powder is not too intense and the scent is well balanced and easy to enjoy . I love the soft femininity of it and the lasting power that is rare these days . I am glad I purchased it and I thank Moppety and the other members for sharing this gem with me. I like it enough to buy a second bottle as a backup and am curious to learn about other Al Hermain fragrances.

I decided to try this fragrance because it was a great deal and I had already tried Twin Flowers from this line and liked it. I looked up the notes and thought what the heck? I am so glad that I blind bought this. It was under $40.00 for 2.5 ounces of eau de parfum. What is smells like on me is a gorgeous powdery, vanilla, jasmine fragrance I can wear it day or night and while it doesn't fill a room, the sillage is ok for going to work or to a place where you will be in close quarters. It does last all day so the staying power is great I love this perfume - It has become one of my favorites that I wear anytime, anywhere and any season. I already bought a back-up bottle.

Supremely powdery floral which reminds me of a gentle walk through a garden in summer. Apart from the dominant powder, I can sense some rose, musk and vanilla. If you’re looking for a distinctly Arabian style fragrance which is typical of this house, this one is not it. There are no oud or oriental notes to lend that exotic feel to this fragrance. It settles down to a creamy, soft, almost baked sweet biscuit scent. This isn’t a tour de force fragrance, it’s a charming, light hearted feminine fragrance that’s suitable for most occasions, when you don’t need to make a statement. Good sillage and long lasting.

POWDER, POWDER, POWDER AND MORE POWDER!! 🌬️🌬️🌬️🌬️ Please know that all the reviews are true. This is an atomic bomb of talcum baby powder specifically. Actually, if you ever smelled talcum baby powder while squeezing the container, that “hit” in your nose is EXACTLY to a T what this smells like. I love it. Definitely not for everyone and not a safe blind buy, but if you love powder, it’s a must. I haven’t smelled a junoon that I haven’t enjoyed as a powdered fragrance lover.

I love this so much. I wear it every night for bed. It is absolute comfort to me. This is a powder bomb. It’s not powdery. It is powder. It is strong, strong and lasts ages. I did a side by side with Teint de Neige and I dare anyone to tell them apart. I was going to purchase TdN so I bought a travel first - but there is absolutely no reason for a full bottle of both of these. Also of note, this has the best atomizer of any fragrance I own.

If you are a powder enjoyer you kind of need this in your life. It has everything that Teint de Neige has but for way less price and being beastmode. Very soapy and very powdery, it makes you feel very clean and very comfortable in your own skin somehow. I also spray a bit of it on my sheets sometimes. Even for people that don't like powder scents they might even compliment you anyways, it ages very beautiful on skin and clothes.

Safe blind buy for powdery floral lovers. It smells great, and has a dry down that reminds me of L’Heure Bleue. Smells a lot like Iris by L’erbolario, which I already own. A little more balanced and less syrupy-sweet. Really high quality and just gorgeous, the flowers lift it the perfect amount. I own multiple powdery fragrances, so did I need this? Well, maybe I did, because I like this one is better than most of them!

An absolute love at first sniff for me. I bought this blind and have no regrets. It is indeed very similar to Teint de Neige, but maybe even sweeter and softer, where I'd say Teint de Neige is cleaner and a bit sharper. I adore this, absolutely perfect for cuddly days at home in the middle of winter. I am not huge on vanilla usually, but in this it is just so soft and fluffy, I'm obsessed.

I blind bought this after realizing that I hadn't added any powdery scents to my perfume collection. I have fallen in love, and I feel like it could definitely become the base of my signature scent. It reminds me of the powder that my mom and Grandma used to wear, but the vanilla underneath just makes it more modern and blend perfectly with my skin. I already want to buy another bottle!

POWDER BOMB. A good thing for me since I adore powder scents. It smells like Baby Johnson’s shampoo, so fresh and clean. I don’t get any vanilla or musk, just in-your-face powder. I spray it after showering and before going to bed. It’s such a comforting scent, like you're smelling a baby’s head. It lasts all day and fills up the room. 10/10, would buy again :)

A note of caution: don't overspray this one! It's very soft, insofar as it is so very, very powdery, but it has a crazy, crazy throw. My husband could smell it outside, from six feet away, and I only used two sprays--one on each inner elbow. This is a good perfume, but I think it might make you sick if you attempted more than a couple of sprays.

I was looking for a powdery scent to add to my collection and this fits perfectly! Upon first spray, it is straight up baby powder but then turns into something more beautiful and feminine. It is light and so pretty to me. This was a successful blind buy! The packaging and the bottle is just stunning too!

Best blind buy ever! Powdery soft, addicting, In the beginning I get a lemony powder , don’t know what note is giving me lemon but it’s nice, I don’t get much rose, dry down is vanilla powder. I can still smell it the next morning, but it is not an over powering scent by any means. Soft cozy clean! Love!

it totally smells like what you expect it to smell like! you won't be disappointed. it smells exactly like clean baby wipes and it projects really well so no need to overspray. the dry down after a few hours is powdery. a really well made perfume and a must have for perfume collectors.

Smells very clean and powdery. I love the smell, to me it smells like Nivea cream and it also lasts all day. I received two compliments, I paired this with bbw rose and it toned the rose down so much. To me this is a signature scent, can be worn through all seasons .

Just got in the mail today and wow! Talc powder! It also comes off soapy on me but a luxurious hotel bar soap! Kind of addicting. Gives me a vibe of taking a late night shower and bathing in this scent. Very soothing, relaxing and luxurious scent

I love this. It is a great long lasting substitute for Jean Charles Brosseau Ombre Rose because although they smell almost identical, this one has much better longevity and more sillage. So glad I decided to order this.

This was my first Middle Eastern fragrance and it was love at first sniff. I wear this to bed every now and again when I want to feel pampered and luxe. It's beautiful to pair with lighter airy scents.

Soft powdery scent, it has volume and radiates off of skin but the scent isn't dense, it's a soft and comforting powder that makes me feel really clean and fresh. It's smooth and smells high quality.

It smells like a dehydrated lemon being beaten into fine dust by 5 nuclear powered Karens. 100% powder. One spray or this over performer will turn you into a nuclear powered Karen as well.

A lovely, elevated, expensive smelling powder for an unbeatable price. I feel so elegant wearing this. Definitely spray lightly though, or be prepared to smell like Junoon for 3 days.

I love this! I have Teint de Neige also and they smell the same, BUT Junoon lasts wayyyy longer on me! You have to get this if you love TDN :)

Powder, powder and more powder. Layer it with Carven Paris Mascate and it becomes a gem of a fragrance. Absolutely exquisite!!!

I own L'erbolario's Iris and there is very little difference between the two except to say that Junoon has better longevity hands down. I wear Junoon by day and Iris by night. I must comment on what a high quality powder bomb this is. In fact, it is more than a powder bomb- it is also floral and sweet. I feel all 5 ft 5 inches woman when I spritz this to my pulse points. This fragrance satisfies my Iris craving in all the right ways. Powdery notes, tick; iris, tick; tonka bean sweetness, tick; jasmine, tick; vanilla, tick. Note that this is not a beast performer in general. It is long lasting, performs strongly in the opening, but after the first 2 hours, it turns soft, smooth and boudoir. The opening is harsh but that mellows after half a minute. Combination suggestions: with the chypre- Jean Louis Scherrer JLS, with the lavender floral Burberry Brit Rhythm, with the incense leaning YSL Opium.

Junoon is an extremely sweet floral feminine powder bomb. The heliotrope, iris, vanilla and tonka bean really shine and create a fragrance that hearkens back to the Golden Age of Hollywood. It is similar to Loukhoum by Keiko Mecheri which I used to have. Both are rather linear yet beautiful. It reminds me of the beautiful scent which would linger in the women's powder room that used to be in David Jones in the 70s and 80s, where well-dressed and coiffed women would refresh and apply their makeup and face powder. It's chic and comforting at the same time. The sillage and longevity are outstanding. Just two sprays is sufficient; it's still very strong on clothes a day later. It's excellent for layering and giving a powdery accord to another perfume. I like to layer it with rose-dominant and orange blossom fragrances like Rose Excelsa by Dolce & Gabbana and Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford.

Junoon is a fluffy powder bomb that can be cloying when over-sprayed, but magical in the right amounts. Junoon is a boudoir, makeup scent that reminds me of old Hollywood - I think of Marilyn Monroe and Dorothy Dandridge when I smell this scent. Powder is the main scent, but as the scent begins to dry down It has a slight sweetness to it. Junoon evokes the thought of cleanliness, fresh out of the shower, well moisturized skin, a beautiful woman sitting at her vanity applying her favorite lipstick, stain, or gloss. Not for a woman under 25, maybe even 30. To be clear, it does not smell like an older woman's scent, it is a youthful scent. It isn't the first powder scent I would go for, but it is a runner up. I personally prefer wearing Junoon fresh out of the bath, while hanging out in a silk robe, when I want to appreciate my own sexiness and femininity, while relaxed and cozy.

J'aime beaucoup ce parfum, rétro oui assurément! Personne ne l'a mentionné mais il me rappelle énormément Heliotrope Blanc de L.T Piver, je sens particulièrement l'héliotrope et l'amande un peu d'ylang tout comme la vanille quant au reste pas vraiment, mais le mélange est bien composé.Au premier jet, j'ai senti comme une tête de poupée à l'ancienne, vous savez, ces poupées qui sentaient toujours bon, cette note à vite disparue.Même là, après 2/3 heures je sens toujours l'héliotrope et l'amande, c'est doux poudré réconfortant très féminin! Je n'ai jamais senti teint de neige, donc je ne sais pas s'il lui ressemble.Je n'ai pas encore assez de recul je l'ai reçu ce matin mais j'apprécie vraiment ce parfum.

I adore a powdery perfume and Junoon is probably the finest and driest powder I've ever come across. With one spritz, the scent reminded me of Love's Baby Soft, which I still have a special place in my heart for. However, Junoon isn't babyish or immature. It lasts and lasts and the sillage is a bomb. I love it since some of my favorites are vanilla/heliotrope perfumes but I would make sure not to overspray. This is the perfect fragrance for before bed - smooth and creamy and by morning, you are left with a sweet heliotrope and vanilla trail, not too powerful for a day out. Versatile, unless it's the heat of summer. I'm looking forward to layering it and coming up with new powder scents. Lovely.

This fragrance is not only powder, you can clearly smell the florals, musk, tonka bean, and vanilla. Something about this reminds me of my vintage Shalimar EDT, there’s a sharpness for the first few hours that Shalimar also has. Might be the musk, but I can’t put my finger on it. In the opening, it’s powdery, floral, sweet, but mature with the musk. This is for an ultra feminine woman, perfect for when you first get out of the shower since it’s very clean smelling. Apply it with a light hand, since it’s very strong. Only 1-2 sprays needed for good performance, but spray more to leave a scent trail everywhere you go.

As a huge fan of Junoon Noir I had to pick this one up as a blind buy. This is seriously beautiful for what it is. Don’t expect anything other than a soft, powdery, vintage bar of soap / grandma’s vanity. And it’s gorgeous. I’m so sick of this idea of something smelling like an old lady being a negative. Since when did being an old woman become something bad! She’s lived, she’s wise. I can’t wait to be her! I adore the way this smells. SO comforting.
