Leather Oudh

AN OUTSIDER TEAM TRYING TO PLAY IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE Leather Oudh by Al Haramain is similar to other leather gems, but not the same as any other. Is it better? Is it worse? Well, it might just be a little different... similar but different. Let's start with the raspberry note. It's too sweet and too pungent for my taste, but the overall composition remains well balanced with this opening. I also don't like the overpowering raspberry note in some of the Leather Oudh's competitors. In the heart, I notice the not too strong labdanum/incense accord and the cashmere/woody notes. I really like them and they frame other more extreme or prominent notes very well. In the base, animal leather reigns supreme, giving just a little space to an austere cedar and enough amber to cope with the labdanum/cashmere heritage. A touch of musk accentuates the animalic spice of the leather. Without the initial sweetness, this fragrance would be too bitter and probably too animalic. As a result, the overall olfactory experience could be quite different. The end result is a final product that is easily reminiscent of any of the other more famous leather-sweet perfumes. In my opinion, its closest cousins are Tom Ford Tuscan Leather and Rasasi La Yuqawam. Performance is high on my skin, but I am already learning that leather scents tend to behave differently on different skin types. With leather fragrances, I put a lot of emphasis on the performance of the clothes spray, and Leather Oudh excels in this area. BIGGEST REGRET ... I really find the presentation inferior to that of the competition. BIGGEST APPLAUSE ... Unbeatable value for money. The similar "Arab Tradition" by Nabeel is also good value for money, but it's very hard to find. Let's rate this leather gem: ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ - Scent Opening: 7,5 (good! I would like to have it with a lesser sweet raspberry) - Scent Drydown: 9.5 (fantastic animalic leather base and drydown) - Longevity: 9.0 (close to 9~10 hours in my skin, with 3 sprays) - Sillage: 9.0 (6~8 feet sillage with 2.5 hours projection; better on clothes) - Uniqueness: 7.0 (evoquing other less recent but more expensive and better known leather scents) - Wearability: 7.5 (Winter and Fall, both night & day) - Versatility: 8.0 (go easy on the trigger and you will have an unexpected versatility) - Compliments: 7.0 (pleases leather fragrance lovers and little else) - Quality: 8.0 (above average quality ingredients) - Presentation: 6.0 (I don't like the red glass colour and the lettering used; Good cap and spray though!) - Price: 10.0 (€30.00 for the 100ml flask). ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ - Overall rating: 8,05/10.00 between 7 and 8 =above average; between 8 and 9 = recommended; bigger than 9 = don't miss it. MY OPINION: An excelent value for money offer for a quality leather fragrance. Blind buy worthy? No! Do try it before you buy it. Recommended? It depends on your budget or in the way you value perfumes. Pose the following questions to yourself: - Is it really worthy to pay 10~15 times more per ml for a very similar quality perfume? (my answer: not really!) - Do you value more the name in the label than a good saving? (my answer: not really!) - Do you like strong animalic leather scents? (my answer: yes, most of the times!) - Is Leather Oudh, or its direct competitors, my favourite type of leather scent? (my answer: No way! This fragrance is at the moment in my top Al Haramain fragrances ( a have a few and love almost all of them). I am not familiar to TF Tuscan Leather so I cannot express any similarity to it, but I can sense a huge similarity with MAC's My Heroine. I prefer Leather Oudh, because is less smoky and more fruity. First of all this is a very powerful, leathery woody smoky fragrance. It opens with a mix of jasmine, not strawberry but rather sour-cherry notes, lavender and settles down to smoky cedar wood and leather. The mix of notes is very well done, there is nothing harsh or disturbing imo, though it is not suitable for everyone. When I wear it, the reaction of people around me is very interesting. One of my colleagues said that I smell like fuel other presumed that I paid half of my wage on some rare niche perfume that smells amazing. Truth is you need to be careful, because some people around you might be bothered by its projection. In a few words to me this fragrance smells like autumn, wet soil, golden leaves, chilly wind and drops of rain, warm burned firewood...

I have not smelled Tuscan leather so cannot compare the two but I have experienced la yuqawam pour homme and I can say that these two are very much alike. The differences are slight but for me it's the good kind of different . This is not as sweet but it is fruity. It is smoky but the suede note is not as strong. I like this more than la yuqawam pour homme as it is not as sweet. You can get this for half the price of la yuqawam and get 100ml of edp so this is better value as la yuqawam is 70ml if edp in a 90 ml bottle but, performance might be slightly weaker. To give you an idea, this retails for 100Aed at an official al haramain outlet and la yuqawam goes for 250 Good scent and decent performance.

Really nice this! Lovely leather and oud, and that gorgeous raspberry to start! (and stay, nicely blended), and the touch of herby/incense/woods. Yum. Comforting and easy to wear. I delight in it's warm softness. It feels like a friend. And I love the bottle. Such a great colour, and shape, and lovely to hold. I love it. I think they're a gorgeous house; Al Haramain.

I have Tuscan Leather which is much more potent. I bought this one after hearing it's similarites with TF TL. I have to say I love this one definitely a big fan of raspberry note. Definitely more masculine. Solid performance (8-10 hours), I can still smell on my clothes the next day after a night out. Fragrance 8/10 Performance: 8.5/10 Versatility: 7/10

No notes of oud in this fragrance? What a strange name. This is definitely close to Tuscan Leather - big raspberry hit at the start and settles to a nicely blended leather / woody with the fruitiness of the raspberry still lingering around. Also, definitely not (exclusively) a women's fragrance to my nose.

if you found the Tuscan Leather to be too pricey, la Yuqawam to be too strong...try this...its an amazing juice...softer than other two...more raspberry less leather....very unisex and lasts a decent time....costs less than the other two.amazing juice...hidden gem.will review it soon on my channel

I don't think this is a unisex fragranc and less even for women. Dry Opening, nice Heart, gorgeous Bottom, fabulous Dry Down. Fantastic buy for 30 Euros at Notino. Finally I found my LEATHER FRAGRANCE!

This is for men. Giving Full Credit: this is a FANTASTIC perfume, longevity is absolutely outstanding and for the price point? You're getting a really really good perfume.

I sprayed a relative's arms with la yuqawam on one arm and leather oudh on the other. i then asked some people to tell me their opinions on both and they told me that they find the scent almost identical but they preferred leather oudh because it was softer and not as overpowering as ly. Personally i prefer la yuqawam but leather oudh might be more suitable for warmer weather.I'd keep la yuqawam only for winter nights and 'serious' situations like business dates or other formal events.

gorgeous !!!! years ago i wasn ́t fan of heavy smell of la yuqawam and all of these heavy scents but now, i ́ve ordered leather oudh, it ́s not that heavy blast of asphalt smell like rasasi la yuqawam soo goooorgeeeeous for that price !!!! it ́s the same but a bit lighter and a bit fruitier (but almost the same, but less potent leather/asphalt vibe) leather oudh is much more wearable than la yuqawam and surely gorgeous clone of tuscan leather for a fraction of price!!!

The name of this perfume has been changed to Oudh Patchouli which is changed as well but in the notes breakdown.

Since I'm a huge fan of TF TL (and dark/deep vibe perfumes) I was looking for a cheaper alternative. First I tried Rasasi LYH, which is a great copy of TF, and it is hard to find a difference (probably it a few percents sweeter, and few percent less depth, but it's it really almost identical). Since Rasasi is not that cheap either, I found Al Haramain version of TF, and decide to give it a try. So let's begin. Leather Oud is not TF Tuscan Leather! While I understand comparisons between two, this is not the same fragrance! TF is way more leathery, way more deep and strong that Leather Oud. That been said, Leather Oud is a great fragrance! Not as great as Tom Ford, which I find one of the best in business, but great in its own way. It definitely has the same vibe as TF, so if you like TF TL, you would probably like Leather Oud. Differences are obvious between the two. Leather Oud is way sweeter and doesn't get even close to TF depth, which I find magnificent. But, what I figure out is, people find Leather Oud much more pleasing, and TF sometimes too much. So basically, if you want to be Alpha male, with strong character, and be seen as not to f**c with guy TF is a way to go. It has so strong impact it's ridiculous (but you need to know how to wear it, or you'll be crushed). On the other way, if you want something bold, but way more acceptable go with Leather Oud. You will get the same vibe, but people will see you friendlier if that makes sense! The smell of Leather Oud to me is a great one (have in mind I'm a huge fan of dark/leathery/deep perfumes). Also, it's Winter/Fall/Night perfume, definitely not for spring or summer. I find the best combination to wear it either with a leather jacket and boots, or some other "manly" clothes. TF TL is supposed to be for women too, but most women will tell you that it's just too bold for them, which I would say also at first. But then I smelled it on a woman with leather jacket, leather pants, red lipstick, some mystery tattoo sing on her neck, and character of a James Bond (when I smell her, it immediately put me in a erec**n. That was a time when I figure it out! It's not just about of fragrance smell, or how it interacts with your skin, but you have to wear it appropriately, inappropriate time, with appropriate clothes, and appropriate character, and TF (and Leather Oud as well), is definitely not for everyone and not for everywhere! Smell 9/10 (TF TL is 10/10) While it's supposed to be strong perfume with strong sillage, I found ti not even close to TF. It is not weak! But, it could be stronger, especially, since it is not deep enough to be compared to TF (which I'm constantly doing, haha). I guess you have to put 5-6 sprays to make an impact, and even then it's just not what it's told to be. For me, I use it more when I don't want to make much impact, but also want to smell different and cool! Sillage 7.5/10 It lasts for a long time! Sillage is not what you would expect, but it is compensated with its longevity (it's my opinion, and there is a lot of people that do not agree with me on this one). Again, it's doesn't have TF longevity, but you can still smell it 6 hours after application (I apply 2-3 sprays at best with almost every fragrance). Longevity 8.5/10 It is not expensive, and this is what put this one into consideration over some other perfumes with the same vibe (If TF or Rasasi is too expensive for you, this one will fo the trick, but again, it's not the same). It goes with a 100ml bottle for 50 euro and it a fair price (In my opinion, Al Haramen did a perfect job here, cause if you like the vibe, you will definitely buy it and won't regret it). Price 9.5/10 Overall, it's a really, really good buy. To me, TF Tuscan Leather is the king of strong leather perfumes. Ombre Leather is pretty close to TL for me, and it's a good alternative (not the same thing, but somehow I put those two in the same space of what you want to get with perfume). Rasasi LYH is an almost identical twin of TL, and if you don't want to pay that much you want to regret it with Rasasi. Leather Oud has the same vibe but is a for a class below those 3 in performance. Since it's cheap for EDP, and it can make the job done, I find it very interesting! Overall 8.5/10 P.S. best combination is to buy TF TL, and Leather Oud as well, so you can use TF in more money-time situations and make the impact, and Leather Oud in more casual situations with same cool vibe (TF for a bike ride in a leather jacket to go and pick up a chick you want to f***, and Leather Oud in Sunday afternoons with a leather jacket while going for a beer).

Another blind buy. I had not smelled Tuscan Leather yet when I purchased Leather Oudh. I wasn't interested in it because of TL, but mainly because it is a leather scent that has oudh and is cheap enough to blind buy. I am not so sure if it really contains oudh as I can't detect it. Perhaps it has been refined. What I do smell is a MAJOR blast of raspberry with grey smoke as fundament. "Smoky Raspberry" would have been a more appropriate name. I remember my very first impression when I unboxed and sprayed was: this smells like a fine lady wearing a fruity perfume on a jacket drenched with cigarette smoke. I couldn't get rid of that "image" for a long time. Grey cigarette smoke and fruity perfume for women. I don't want to smell like that! I compared it to Tuscan Leather and La Yuqawam: they're both smokier, edgier. "Rougher" if you will. Both richer and manlier. Altho men can still wear Leather Oudh. It's just fruitier, fresher, sweeter. Definitely not an office scent. Also not casual. Only special occasions. I once wore it to a photo exhibition opening with lots of fancy people. I dressed classy. The fragrance was appropriate. Funny enough today I was sitting in the bus and I could smell whiffs of the perfume of a woman behind me. Is that Leather Oudh? When she left the bus I noticed she was wearing a black suede-leather jacket and it was obvious she's a smoker. There you go. I am not kidding. Leather Oudh is 85% close to TL. Projection is great. Longevity 8+ hours. Development during the day is pretty lineair on my skin, it doesn't change much. The raspberry does tone down in the heart, which I like. In the opening it is too potent to my taste.

Stunning juice that lies somewhere between Tuscan Leather and La Yugawam. Tl, on one hand, is much more expensive, YL on other hand is way too strong. This one has more raspberry and less leather. Top notes are Raspberry and Thyme; the middle notes are Woody Notes, Cashmirwood, Incense, and Jasmine; the base notes are Leather, Cedar, Amber, and Musk. A decent one with amazing accords that are leathery, woody, fruity, sweety, ambery, animalic, smoky, musky, balsamic, and aromatic. The accords are so well blended in this one making it gorgeous and heavenly. And considering the price of this one, ah! Just fantastic. Lighter, fruitier, and totally a wearable one. This one is a totally powerful, woody, leathery smoky fragrance. I love the bottle, juice, and all in all this lovely fragrance. Lovely one with moderate longevity and silage. Grab it!

Has that raspberry opening with floral tones. I know many compare it to Tuscan leather but it is nowhere as smokey and nowhere as potent as Tuscan leather. This perfume is more for women but can be worn by men also who like a fruity lighter fragrance. Overall this perfectly is fairly weak, and doesn't last very long at all. The dry down on Tuscan leather is very dark, woody and smokey, whereas Al Haramain leather oud has a light sweet musk dry down with a very subtle hint of oud. In fact it's questionable of its actually oud in there. For women this is ok, not great. For men, I recommend Al haramain khulasat Al Oud. That is alot better, or even al haramain L'adventure

If you want refinement with less raspberry but don't mind the price, go for TF Tuscan leather If you don't want to pay as much for TF tuscan leather, but are fine with a stronger hint of raspberry and an overall stronger fragrance on your nose, go for La Yuqawam by Rasasi If you want to pay even less or want a less intense fragrance altogether, go for Al-Haramain's Leather Oudh. It still has very good longevity, but the raspberry is less strong and it does smell a little more oily in my opinion. But if you don't mind that, go for it.

I have worn this for a few days now. I detect the raspberry but fleetingly perhaps slightly more lavender. The mid notes are rather nice and smooth Jasmine and cashmirwood with some pine accords and smoke. Smoother than TL more woody than leather with a base of Oudh. The bottle is rather nice matt red cold to the touch and heavy. Good value for £30 ish. Update after a good hour or so prominent leather as I said smoother than TL. This wears and projects well a good few hours on my skin.

Can someone on fragrantica PLEASE add Khulasat Al Oud by Al Haramain, that is another masterpiece.

This is a clone of Irish leather by memo without the depth & the darkness. Pass not for me.

Really good perfume but you have to change it its for men not for women.
