Thank you, qasimsheikh. That is a better note description. I'm getting mostly citrus and cedar out of this one. Very fresh. Good for hot weather.

Blind bought this MONTHS ago Smell: VERY middle eastern spicy... Then after the 5th hour it comes down animalic to me. Longevity: 5-6 Hours Sillage: Comes off strong at first, but fades after 5th hour. Occasion: I cannot think of an occasion to wear this... but then again this smell is too unique in the west. Age rating: Definitely for the older men... Design: The bottle design is sadly the reason why I blind bought it.. Would I buy this again: No offence to the people who like it, but this is not for me. So... NEVER AGAIN. My final verdict: 3/10 I only 'slightly' like the opening, but I wish I had never blind bought it...

A very sweet and refreshing amber attar with a citrus spicy opening and with an amber, woody, musky amber accord but the freshness is always part of the perfume at all stages. The lavender seems to balance the rest of notes making some of them less pronounced giving more opacity to more dominant notes. The Patchouli gives an earthy sweetness to the blend which mingles perfectly with the musk and animal notes. Overall is a very fresh spicy amber attar , very different to other amber base attars I tried before so far, more complex and less cloying and smells natural to me. Marjan is also commercially sold with 3 different perfume names in the market: the first one is called Sultan Super by Al Haramain and sold as loose attar oil. The second is called Maze by Al Haramain and the last one in by Montale called Wild Oud so if you are looking for the spray version Maze and Wild Oud are the same perfume and Sultan Super attar another name given for the same perfume but without the pretty bottle. My vintage Marjan attar smells very animal musk on the dry down almost like Kouras by YSL. A great fragrance for the summer, very sexy and uplifting, great projection, dab some of this aphrodisiac attar on your chest, neck and arms and enjoy. 100% recommended if you like Arabic Attars or exploring Arabic fragrances.

Sweet citrus/lime and flowers with dose of cypriol. It is attar for young cheerful people or just fun situations, - going to the park, feeding swans, having an amusement ride on merry-go-round. Good mood oil for sure. Marjan is a pleasure to wear if you like citruses "cooked" in Arabian way, - they are really sweet in attars and mixed with rose and woods to keep them grounded. The closest relative is Shamikh Khalis (still not in database), but in Shamikh there is more rose, which makes it gravitated into Attar de Roses Mecheri side. The previous reviewers were right about the notes, of course Marjan is NOT wood-spicy fragrance as such, and these notes at the top of the page are wrong ( almost as usual with attars).

I blind bought this scent too on account of the lovely bottle. I figured even if the scent is bad, the bottle by itself is worth the price. Is the scent bad? I don't really think so. It's strange, I'll say that much. An unusual oud-sy, minty, fresh combination. Not something I would immediately pick if I could have smelled it, but certainly not a total scrubber either. Warm spicy, woody, floral? Not that in my opinion. This is a strictly fresh scent. The bottle is true quality. It is such a nice, heavy little thing, half 1001 nights, half Gaudi in my opinion. The price is pretty decent, so blind buying is not a disaster.
