Pine gives that touch of aromatic substance, that priests burn during their services. If applied on upper body after the shower - comes to your face like hot waves of sacred incenses from somewhere within. amber sandalwood and pine exactly in this order ... the saffron is not felt ... pine is barely perceptible ... the sandalwood is consistent and creamy ... remains the amber just smoky that is the absolute protagonist ... a wonder of CPO ... a few notes but dosed in a splendid way, a highly appreciable work

I had high hopes for Mena, which I bought unsniffed. Utterly beautiful presentation, with a heavy cut glass bottle encased in gilded metal with rhinestones, additionally, the notes listed my favorite scent blend,"amber", very prominently. Alas, what they did *not* tell me was that the amber in Mena is "Shamamatul Amber", aka Shamama, a blend that is highly prized in the Middle East and India. No clue why they call it "amber", since it is not the traditional amber blend that I know and love. To me, despite much internal fortitude dispensed in an attempt to get over my olfactory issues -I have a small vial of pure, high end, Shamamatul Amber as well as Ajmal's Alf Lail o Lail and Al Haramain's Mena- the soiled nappy note of Shamama "Amber" is simply too overwhelming, blocking my way into any other pretty part of this perfume. Thank goodness, the bottle itself is so lovely. If you know and love other Shamama laden potions, like Ajmal's Alf Lail o Lail, then Mena may definitely be the one for you.

Mena is Good Scent from Al Haramain Perfumes. Its Sharp, Spicy & Woody are Words to Describe it. Though its Unisex Perfume & can be used by both. The Top begins with a Woody as it has Pine note followed by a Spicy, It has Strong Saffron & Sandalwood as Heart Notes and Base of Woody Ambry as it has Sandalwood & Amber as Base Notes. It smells Spicy & Soft Woody and Its V Affordable by Price, Projection Longevity & Presentation are Good. Sprayer pours decent amount of Juice. My Rating is 3.7 out of 5.

I purchased the parfum version which is photographed up above. It comes in a beautiful wooden box. The entire presentation is to die for.....really. The juice is thick and resinous more like an oil than a perfume. The smell is a sophisticated oud/wood. Very little sweetness going on if any. There is nothing about it that makes it stand out yet it is without a doubt interesting. I am reminded of some expensive Roja Dove type ouds. Maybe it is the bottle but the maturity of the juice cannot be denied. The problem is performance. With all the thickness and resinous vibe it give off during the first hour it disappoints shortly afterwards. By hour two the fragrance is a distant memory on skin and clothing. Barely a trace is left. It is winter time so maybe that has something to do with it. Otherwise I will wait for some humidity to see if it can't sink into my pores a little more and mix with my body chemistry.
