Portfolio Royale Stallion

Writing an updated review on this gem. I recently purchased a decant of Parfums de Marly Pegasus for the purpose of comparing the two. As preface, I do not own Armaf Craze or any other Pegasus clone. Hands down, Al Haramain Portfolio Royale Stallion is so very close to Pegasus. I think at a distance, there will be no one who can feasibly discern the two. Royale Stallion is high quality, has no screechy notes or anything that would indicate it as a cheap or low quality fragrance. The main difference from Pegasus, which is so very slight, is that Pegasus is slightly more floral, and Royale Stallion has seemingly more of that medicinal bitter almond and sandalwood. Pegasus leans just slightly softer, creamier, and floral. Royale Stallion is a slightly amped up version of Pegasus. It is stronger. It last longer, it projects further. Pegasus feels a bit more smoothly blended but that is only with my nose very close to the skin. The balance of the opening notes is just slightly different as I believe the concentrations are different for some notes, however the dry down is very very close. At arms length, they are quite the same, nearly identical. I really prefer and enjoy the opening on Royale Stallion because that bitter almond medicinal note is very easily picked out. All the differences I stated though are very very miniscule and were only identified after sitting with them for a long time trying to discern the differences. They are practically unnoticeable, aside from the opening. Originally I sampled Pegasus with the intent of eventually buying a full bottle, but honestly I can no longer see a real reason to, other than having it in my collection. I enjoy Royale Stallion and its price much better. The bottle is beautiful, solid, heavy, and well crafted with glass and metal, as is the entire Portfolio line from Al Haramain. The box presentation is classy and better than that I've seen in many niche and designer brands. I saw reviews below mentioning Royale Stallion is nearly $100 usd, and I'm not sure where they are purchasing, but it can easily be purchased for around $60. If you are paying more than that, I would check other discounters because you are certainly overpaying. It is not discontinued and is easy to find at a reasonable price. You are unlikely to purchase a fake either as it just doesn't have that kind of popularity. Much parallel to Pegasus as one of the less favored PDM releases. Royale Stallion and the Pegasus DNA as a whole is a beautiful and unique, perfectly unisex scent. I would say also underrated and underappreciated. I am a woman who loves to wear this for its beautiful almond powdery notes. I can see some women might find it too masculine due to the bitter and medicinal aspects and lower sweetness levels, which are what drew me to it. On the other hand, men might find this too unisex if you are used to woody sharp traditionally masculine scents. Royale Stallion remains my warm weather daily scent, the cold weather daily spot taken by BDK Parfums Nuit de Sable. In conclusion, I highly recommend Royale Stallion and suggest it as a perfectly reasonable and quality clone of Parfums de Marly Pegasus, in some ways a more desirable alternative.

I really love this, perfectly unisex. Not sure if I'm going a bit noseblind to it, but it only lasts 1-2 hours strongly, then it's much softer for the remaining duration of 3-4 hours. My skin tends to eat up perfume though, but this wasn't as strong as I was hoping. Scent is so sophisticated and delicious! If you like almond and spices it's a no-brainer. *edit* 10-2-2022 Been wearing this for a few months now. I think I was just overspraying at first and was in fact a bit noseblind, but I can smell it perfectly well several hours later now. And it leaves the most delicious scent on jackets. I think it sitting for a while did in fact make it a bit better to my nose, which is something I have heard for AH fragrances and some arabic fragrances in general. Very unisex. I'm a woman and this is currently my signature scent. I do use a generous amount of sprays, but I'm not usually in closed spaces with others so no issue. I do a spray on the back of my neck, one on chest, and one on each wrist, so 4 total. If you are in an office, I'd only do one, maybe two though. It will project pretty heavy for a few hours so you don't want to choke anyone out. Now, this scent, when it dries down, has the most creamy, starched laundry type scent to it that I absolutely adore. I really love spraying this on jackets, as it leaves this very starchy lovely almond fragrance that I can't get enough of. This scent is not for everyone, and I can see why some may not like it, but in general if you like almond based scents this will be right up your alley. I would say it is kind of herbal, kind of bitter, kind of creamy, and a little sweet. It's not a super sticky sweet almond taffy or anything of that sort, so it remains clean and unisex. Can't say enough of how much I love it. I have sampled Pegasus on a tester strip before I bought this one and it was very nice, so I do want to get a bottle of Pegasus for some wear test comparisons, but ultimately I am perfectly happy with Royale Stallion alone. I think it's the kind of scent that smells even better to those around you. Definitely unique and sophisticated scent compared to a lot of the scents sold today, so it can leave a nice impression.

Let's get right down to it. This fragrance is a 1:1 to PdM Pegasus--IN THE DRY DOWN. The difference is in the opening. Pegasus opens up and it's as smooth as butter. Everything is so balanced and airy. A well-blended masterpiece. Royale Stallion opens up a little sharp, and with what I describe as a "band aid" medicinal note. It's really noticeable when you put your nose on your skin where you sprayed. Sillage alleviates that though and if you don't press your nose against your skin but instead just catch wafts of it, the band aid smell isn't there really. (But I'm just nit picking now). Performance: I get 8 hours easy on my skin. The fragrance is stronger than Pegasus. If you're going to be sitting close to someone, say in the car or at church, I'd recommend just 2-3 shots to the front of your shirt. I go for the subtle approach though. You'll be "that guy" with 4-5 sprays in closed spaces and will choke people out. So tread carefully. Overall, I'd say this is a very good clone with the only noticeable difference being in the opening (sharper/band aid note?). I'd say after the opening nobody would be able tell it's NOT Pegasus. And that's the truth. Price: It's now over $100 at discounters and that's a bit pricey for me. But for an exact replica of Pegasus it might be worth it for some.

If you can get past the first couple minutes, which is kinda harsh, you'll have yourself a almost perfect Pegasus clone with the same or better performance for 1/5 the price. This fragrance is dense, rich and expensive smelling. This Blows Armaf Craze & Emper Thesaurus out of the water. They've somehow captured the PDM vibe and high quality smell. Presentation is awesome with a heavy beautiful glass bottle encased in a leather draw string bag and a magnetic hard plastic & chrome box. Price point is $60-$100 for 2.5oz.....but for what you get, it's totally worth it. Projection, sillage and longevity are BEAST. This is better suited for cooler weather or climate controlled places. This could be work safe if lightly sprayed, but has more of a dinner party followed by partying vibe. Can be paired with a suit or for a casual date night. Can be worn daytime as long as you control the sprays but more evening energy.

I own PDM pegasus and by far royal stallion by al haramain is the closest. All other clones suck such as armaf craze and Ajmal’s evoke silver do not comes close when it comes to quality they are extremely synthetic and scratchy to the nose. Now I can see why this royal stallion clone is priced high. Scent profile: I sprayed pegasus on my right and top of my hand. Then I used my 10ml decent of royal stallion on left wrist and top of hand. This fragrance on the initial blast is kind of sharp to the nose and smells metallic and synthetic. After 5-6 minutes after it settles and in the dry down it smells extremely close in fact just like pegasus no joke although I find pegasus a tad bit more smooth in scent profile.

Absolutely love everything about this fragrance. This has become one of my signature scents. Perfectly unisex in my opinion. I don’t have Pegasus to compare but if Pegasus smells smoother and richer than this, it will be worth every penny. This fragrance will get you compliments and it lasts over 6 hours. The presentation is outstanding as well for a clone. When I started my fragrance journey, I didn’t care about brands, I just wanted things that smelled good. So I got a couple clones and this was one of them. Some of those clones have since been given away but this one is here to stay. At least until I get the real thing. I highly recommend to try this or Pegasus, I really think it’s that good

Creamy almond and heliotrope. Absolutely stunning take on Pegasus. Just be careful, this stuff is incredibly INCREDIBLY strong. Bottle design is pretty nice, and the atomizer is freakishly generous. I bought this instead of the "real thing" (PDM Pegasus) and I can safely say I think I'll just stick with this one. Performance is insane. 12+ hours, projects strong for 4-6 hours, and I only do 2 sprays on my neck. Wonderful value fragrance, and smells of high quality ingredients and great quality control.

i have pegasus, armaf craze and royal stallion as below. Armaf craze may be the strongest in projection, but no way near royal stallion and pegasus in quality. craze is synthetic, still an extremely good fragrance i love using. Royal stallion is the same or even better quality than pegasus.both in quality of scent and full representation/ the box it comes in, the bag the bottle is in inside etc and that upgrade in spicyness on top after spray, which to me is the only difference between the two.

One of my favourite scents and performers. This is a creamy, smooth, clean almond and vanilla scent with good projection and great longevity. Realistically expect it to last 6h to 8h on skin and on clothes for as long as you don't wash them lol. Much better than similar DNAs like pegasus and others for a cheaper price (even more so if you get it on sale) with a nicer bottle and box. Notes: Vanilla - Almond - Fresh Scent: 8.5/10 Projection: 7.5/10 Longevity: 8/10

You wont get that sticky metallic note like the Pegasus, but hear my out let it macerate for half a year and next time instead of synthetic opening you will get such smooth almondy creamy arome that will blew you away for this to be special you have to layer it with for example althair or naxos projection 3 hours on skin stays around 6-7 hours and you always can smell it soo smooth but only after maceration

Cheira literalmente igual a Pegasus, topo feminino, meio masculino, base unissex... o perfume transita bem entre as 3 fases! de início tem muito heliotropo, depois lavanda e sândalo... 3/4 horas posteriores, se sente de forma mais proeminente o combo amêndoas + ambar, na minha pele masculina ficou super agradável, e a mudança entre suas fases é impressionante! se achar até 75/80 dólares, uma ótima compra.

I blind bought this perfume after hearing all the YouTubers rave on about it being a PDM Pegasus clone... and you know what they were spot on. I'd say this is event better at fraction of the price. Solid almond, vanilla and sandalwood combo. Definitely unisex. It last's all day (8-10 hours), I can still smell it when I get home from work. Fragrance 9/10 Performance: 9.5/10 Versatility: 9/10

I haven't sprayed this one for quite some time. It's been macerating for nearly two years now and man...what a blast of goodness. It's so close to Pegasus and lasts eternal. That bitter almond is so pronounced and when you're in the mood for this type of DNA it scratches the itch...even more so. Great buy. Love it.

This is honestly I can say a nice dupe of PdM Pegasus. Stronger, too!

Can't comment yet on performance but get the feeling it will be beastly. Scent is 1:1 Pegasus to my nose, though I'm perhaps somewhat regretting getting it because Pegasus gets sickly quick. I sprayed twice but feels like this may be worth a single spray only. Sweet and smooth but something about the notes makes me feel a bit iffy. I like it but perhaps a 1 spray in cold weathers only. Absolutely no go in warmer weather. Completely unisex, a polarising fragrance. As a clone of Pegasus though it's great, but price value proposition is not as strong now I believe the price has increased. Presentation is superb, box bag and bottle are great. I would probably sell it but don't feel I'll get my money back in return, so I'm stuck with it for the odd wear. Edit: 9 hours later and the deep dry down has been amazing for the past few hours. I think this needs only 1 spray, maybe on the chest further away from the nose (i had two on the neck).

Blind buy. What a projection powerhouse! One spray onto a strip of paper before lunch. Came home at 6pm and my room was filled with the scent. To my untrained nose I say it smells like really strong cola/root beer combo. Water it down and add sugar then it'll be drinkable. Ha ha.... But nice vanilla but overpowered by something else...I guess that's the almond. Nice, but if this is what Pegasus smells like, then price for Stallion is perfect IMHO. Maybe I should not have blind bought this, as I know I will not re-buy this once done. Got led to this cuz I blind bought Neroli Canvas (great!) and became sold on Al Haramain. But thumbs up.

Had the perfume for a short while (sold it),I had a lot of compliments when I wore it. Personally I think it smells good but there's a spiciness that I don't hate but not fond of. I don't know if it's the bitter almond (pretty sure it is) but I explained what "annoyed" me with portfolio royale stallion to someone and he offered to buy it from me. So if you have a bad nose like me (I thought it was going to smell like givenchy or guerlain l'homme ideal) better test it before but everyone who smelled it on me really loved it. edit like mihais said above of me, it does smell like exhaust gas and this is what I didn't like from it

This is the truth. Def pegasus on that drydown. Pegasus DEFINITELY has a better opening and there is no competition. That pesticide/harsh spicy opening sucks so much ahh but it doesn't last at all so no worries. But that powdery vanilla drydown is why I purchased my decant. Honestly this is Pdm for sure. It's well blended when the opening notes get the hell outta the way. I love addicting scents like this. And this is...oh boy. This is strong, it's cloying strong. I don't trust anyone that says "all year round" it has to be cold to be fully enjoyed. Not bad at all. I'll wear it some more and give the rundown later

Good lord! Wore this perfume to work today and as soon as I stepped into my work place the gorgeous looking girl stood by me gave me my first compliment and I noticed how she was acting all flirty toward me and I knew it was the perfume I wore and more compliments started coming in left right centre ha. God knows I’m ordering my second bottle asap before it gets discontinued or reformulated not taking chances at all this joint is just too good. The Projection, longevity and sillage is beyond imagination. It’s heavy i swear. Enough long talk let me go order my second bottle. Peace out!

It definitely has a little synthetic opening, but the dry down is insanely unique. Close to PDM Pegasus with it's own twist. It smells very high quality; excellent presentation as well - as with any Portfolio fragrance. I usually don't like this line: portfolio neroli canvas was overly synthetic and reminded me of sunscreen, but this one is very nice. Definitely enjoying it and looking forward to using it more in the future!

A nice powdery scent. quite strong n I expect long lasting given it overpowers Santal 33 which I had on before applying it.

This is a spot-on clone of Pegasus. The juice is potent, and it is a strong powdery almond vanilla scent.

I was disappointed with Pegasus because it reminds me too much of almond essence. I found it cloying and off-putting for some reason. Royale Stallion is certainly a dupe---a fantastic dupe---of Pegasus, so for that reason I have to say it had the same effect on me as did Pegasus. I also believe that this leans far more feminine than masculine, especially after a couple of hours when it becomes more of a floral gourmand with vanilla, almond, jasmine and amber dominating the rest of the wear. I don't see how a young woman could wear this because it reminds me of older, elegant ladies you would find at Sunday brunches after church, or at formal events. That said, I very seldom have much luck with heavier "unisex" offerings unless they lean more fresh, summery types. It may very well just come down to personal taste.

I got this by mistake, i ordered Neroli Canvas, they sent me this one. This moron (me) opened the package without looking what i got (the boxes are the same, the only thing that changes is the name on it) therefore no return possible. Will most likely give it as a gift to some friend. I won't be able to pull this off. the main problem here is that to my nose this is a feminine scent.

I 100% agree with the review below mine, idk why but a pesticide note in the beginning and then after it smells like almonds and vanilla.

I haven't smelled Pegasus so I can't compare them but this one smells like sweet almond oil mixed with pesticide to me. The combo is creamy and nauseating & I ran to scrub it off. Definitely test before purchase if you're unfamiliar with this DNA

Horrible cumin and bitter almond in the opening ruined this for me. Too chemical. Unbearable. A scrubber! Big no! Only the bottle made the cut. Fragrance here is useless. I also corroborate the pesticide comment. Fully agree 👍

Not instant love but it is growing on me. Notes are exactly as listed here. It's nice -- would-be gourmand but it's a very hard and masculine edible scent: that yin-yang aspect of it is very likeable. It is very linear on me except for the metallic note which is interesting to start with and then fades gradually out -- but not completely. Once that is gone you are left with a great bitter almond concoction that is, I think, both a crowd pleaser and highly unique. It smells high end, more on the comforting end of things than sporty or dynamic. Very "natural" but elegantly and somewhat bombastically so. Performance is, yes, in beast mode territory. The only Haramain that I have out of many that out-Beasts it is Portfolio Imperial Oud, but that one is designed to be monstrous. Will I buy again? Let me get through more of the bottle, I am not currently spraying it more than others, but as I said it is growing on me. Very curious to know how I feel once it's run out.

Eh.... I'm on the fence. I have Pegasus Exclusive, Armaf Craze and now Royal Stallion. For $100 it is more refined and longer lasting than Craze but not to the point it matters. This fragrance is beast mode, I smelled it on my skin for like 16hrs, and it projects like a monster but the truth who needs that excess? For $20 Craze has a cloying opening, the dry down is the same, lasts about 8 hours with a mild projection. The gap in performance and quality is not great enough to pay $100. If you feel like you need to smell like Pegasus for more than 12hrs than this is your fragrance. But you can smell like it for 8hrs with mild projection for $20, keep that in mind.

This fragrance smells like an strong and overly sweet processed mens cologne in the typical style you find from an Arabic brand but without any oud or rose. It was compared to hypnotic poison which was my mistake for believing when I blind bought this scent. I smell heliotrope or some kind of vanillan, I smell jasmin, sandalwood and cumin with loads of amber in the drydown.. but it's not for me. Nice heavy bottle, nice presentation box. ✨

I feel scammed after blind buying this. Thought based on the reviews it's a very good Pegasus clone but with better projection. It's not... I mean it smell like Pegasus, but with something dirty in it. Like Pegasus mixed with exhaust gas. It's not that strong either. I'd say it with be a decent clone if it was like 30$, but at around 100$, when you can find Pegasus at 150$? Never.

Wow. Gotta love Harimain portfolio perfumes. The boxes are insane but I just toss them. This makes armaf craze smell inferior, not by much though. craze is a decent Pegasus clone. This is way more sophisticated than armaf. I do not have the original Pegasus but doubt it could be better than this. What a great drydown this gives you. Surely beast mode. A joy to wear.

has the same scent profile as California Touch by Arabian’s secret which I had. Love at first sniff but the performance was poor. If someone tested both, can you please tell me if they are dupes? I’m scared to purchase this one even though the pyramids are identical but I see people saying this leans more masculine. Thanks!

Paid £48 for this and I'm currently on my first wear. Very happy with it so far. Slight synthetic note in the opening but goes away fairly quickly. The price to performance ratio is very good. Smells like quality and very close to Pegasus.

Some guy " You must be rich you are wearing Pegasus by PDM" me " How did you know ?" guy " I am a fragrance aficionado " me " wow yes you certainly know your stuff " Must be close if it fooled an aficionado !

I am impatiently waiting for a review in this one :) Would love it if someone could add their five scents about this. Is this truly unisex or does it lean more masculine?

It took 2 minutes to find this for under $60. Why are people whining about spending $100? They were either too lazy or dumb to look for a lower price.

guys .. i think you went too far!! this perfume reminds me of hypnotic poison by dior and rouge royal by marina de bourbon. thank you
