Special Oud

Sometimes a fragrance can surprise you in the simplest way — here, a familiar motif was enough to catch my attention. Special Oud opens with a caramelized saffron accord paired with red berries and a prominent peach note. The fruitiness is remarkably realistic and natural. These vibrant top notes rest on a leather base, subtly underpinned by oud that is always present in the background, blended with woods. This composition is grounded in an unusual Arabic soapy core, evoking a sense of cleanliness. As time passes, the peach softens, paving the way for a balsamic and smoky heart with a touch of vanilla sweetness. This drydown feels warm and luxurious. In my opinion, it is rare for perfumes to follow the listed notes step by step — these are often just a manufacturer's suggestion of what we should perceive — but in this case, the composition hits the mark with remarkable consistency. The scent does not veer wildly from one phase to the next; instead, it evolves seamlessly, each note giving way naturally to the next. Initially, the projection is incredibly strong, and the longevity is commendable. It is a 100% unisex fragrance with no leaning toward either side of the spectrum. The bottle is stunning, resembling an expensive liquor decanter. However, photos do not do it justice; they make it seem small and cheap at first glance. Inside, there are floating pieces of wood, which add a unique and elegant touch. The only minor issue is the atomizer, which produces small clouds rather than a fine mist. This fragrance joins the family of Rasasi Shuhrah, DNA I am a fan of (even though I do not own it, when I tested it, it smelled like a middle-ground mix of all the variations I own). There is always an elusive, oily shrub-like flower note that I can't quite identify, but it is the central theme. Special Oud also reminds me of a peachy version of my new favorite, Afnan Abstract. While it's hard to pinpoint the similarity, it likely lies in the floral elements used in crafting the scent. Special Oud is a niche, unique composition that conjures images of caravans full of smelly aromatic treasures traversing Arabian markets, yet it remains somewhat accessible, as it is not the typical divisive scent that could alienate most people. The rare combination of peach with woody oud is astonishing for its price — this could easily be way more expensive. It's fully recommended if you enjoy quirky variations of Rasasi Shuhrah or perhaps even Soleil de Jeddah, which might be the original inspiration. Este perfume lo vi por casualidad en una tienda y estaba como alejado guardado de todo lo de moda y común , cuando le pregunté a la señorita de ventas me indico q era un perfume fuerte de oud y cuero que no era muy común. Le pedí me lo mostrará por q me pareció muy curioso que tenía madera por dentro del envase y la botella se parece aún de whisky de 18 años bien de clase. Un aves lo probé en piel me atrapó este aroma es espectacular y esta en la linea fugere antigua y a la ves nueva, es un oud de locos con cuero y frutas con un fondo de enjabonado muy rico sensual y fuera de lo común . Si alguna ves has probado Lorenzo pasaglia escopazo, Rasasi shurah, están por esa línea solo que este es mejor creo yo a mi olfato es más claro en el aroma y más jabonoso te da una sensación de clase, distinción y limpieza al mismo tiempo. Y lo mejor es su precio 30% del valor de los otros su duración es bestial más de 12 horas y la proyección 2 a 3 horas después de queda contigo a una burbuja personal de 2 mts a la redonda, Es increíble el performance de este perfume, para usar en climas fríos a templados, de noche en reuniones sociales bien vestido formal o informal almenos con camisa de manga larga. This is really as Al Haramain calls it: SPECIAL Oud.. Compelling and alive Strong and beautiful, sophisticated with a strong nod to classical perfumery A more masculine leaning oud frag but equally worn by women and men The peach-saffron-red berries-leather-aldehyde opening is heaven and continues over time... with the nagamortha (cypriol), labdanum and then ginger creating a harmonic chorus, making a dynamic evolution that travels up and down It glows all the way down from top to base. It is strong and classy, rich and complex, beautifully blended and surprising. The oud is more than a note here, it stays fixed in centre or back depending on your skin, it is not skanky, but it is there. It's not a perfume for those who don't like oud. But it is very sophisticated and classy... How at this price point it manages to remain so poised and beautiful is a mystery to me For everyone, it's a must try - a connoisseur's blind buy It straddles the worlds of Arab and European pefumery by a feat of open-minded imagination. Love it

Nose Note #74 Can't express enough how good it is. Even my picky wife liked it It's all about leather, which withers to the background rather quickly. Then it becomes peach on woods all the way to the end. It's beautiful in every part from the beginning. The leather is so much better than Tom Ford. TF leather always smells like chicken shit, literally. The bottle is outstanding. The price is unbelievable. One of the best purchases I've made in my fragrance journey. Performance is solid Upd. I've bought Soleil de Jeddah Stéphane Humbert Lucas 777 and it immediatly and unmistakably reminded me of Special Oud. Honestly, Special Oud is better. Soleil de Jeddah is just too strong

This is one absolute masterpiece of a fragrance for oud and leather lovers Right off the top you can smell the sweetness of the peach, the caramel followed by the leather and the vanilla, this lasts so long on fabric It's sophisticated, you get to experience all the notes in this fragrance Definitely not a safe blind buy if you're not a lover of leather and oud This is truly a hidden gem

just received her, so i can't say for sure, but i think this is what i was looking for, even better than i thought. strange because i am a caucasian from european culture, and i looove that. when it's good, it's good. will see when maturated

This is an incredible dupe of Rasasi Tobacco blaze, the notes are well blended and the performance is absolutely beast mode!! Blind buy it if you like Rasasi Tobacco blaze, it’s 85-90% similar.

7/10 Fruity, lucious top notes are lovely and unique if not a little dischordant, but that's not a bad thing in this case and adds real texture and complexity. I've found that berries and oud are a real winner from a personal taste perspective. And while I don't usually comment on presentation, this bottle is heavy, thick, looks beautiful and has physical pieces of wood inside. Pretty awesome. Has average or a little above average performance and projection, but the dry down is just excellent. Also I've found it layers really well with Mango Ice and likely many other frags.

If you're familiar with Shuhrah by Rasasi or Tobacco Blaze by Rasasi, then you'll immediately recognize this one. Yes, they're pretty much identical, with maybe Special Oud being more fruity in the opening. Other than that, they're pretty much the same to the point where they're very redundant. Also, when you Spray this fragrance it's very, very strong to the point where you can actually taste the fragrance lol. However that intensity only lasts like 20mins and then the fragrance dies down dramatically, which is a shame. By the 1hr mark, the scent is basically an intimate scent bubble. Horrible Longevity & Projection on me, at least on my batch. Definitely not a scent for everyone because at the 1hr mark you will start to smell the herbal and green notes of the scent, which are the Cypriol or Patchouli. I definitely don't get any sweet notes whatsoever. Great Scent, but Shuhrah has better performance than this, so get that one instead.

Small update on my old review: It smells a bit better now, less plasticky. Still not a fan of it, but it's "ok".

This is plastic + peach. Luckily my batch doesn't last at all. Do not recommend.

I was convinced this would be pretty excellent on first spray into the air. But it isn't. My first spray gave a lovely rich spicy fruitiness that promised much. As i am currently trying out a lot of other new scents, i didn't bother to spray it on my skin or clothes and put it away for 3 weeks to brew. Upon its release from the dark, cool cupboard, under a dark, dark stair i gave it a good 12 sprays on the wrist and clothes. It really didn't seem anywhere near as promising as my first impression has misled me to believe. This has a lovely bright apricot/peach/mandarin with spice opening which is as good as it actually ever gets. Its all downhill from there, this really inviting opening dries down into an incredibly flat and linear woody plasticine with peach vibe. Really not pleasant and personally some fruit notes make me feel quite sick and make me want to barf. This was definitely in that category unfortunately. Maybe this always puts me off certain scents, along with the psychological association with it. I actually want to puke if the fruit is too strong and artificial. But regardless of my own difficulties with nose punishing fruity and citrus scents, this was just a boring fragrance. There are a lot of notes listed in this, but i didn't get anything much except fake oud and burnt bullying peaches/apricots. It lasts really well though and projection is probably above average, also the bottle and packaging are decent for a cheapie fragrance. returned to sender. sorry but you're nothing special, special oud.

Smells like ashtray and Werther's Originals :-(

It's definitely similar to Rasasi Shurah, The notes are tomato, not peach. The bottle is heavy and beautiful, and the price is lower than Shurah, its latest releases are elixir and boisse, but the scent is boring.

For the price it is actually amazing
