Alaïa Extrait de Parfum

I just received it in the mail, and immediately tried it, knowing that I will have to give it some time to rest before it fully reveals itself to me. Even now, it's apparent that this is stunning and a love. The violet is more prominent and the addition of iris provides a light powderiness that's never too much thanks to the subtly animalic leather. While the EDP is similar, I again already can tell I like the extrait more. I will likely use both at the same time simply because I have a purse spray I received when I purchased the larger bottle a few years ago. I swapped the large bottle along with the two flankers I owned. I have no regrets about doing so because it brought so much happiness to the person I swapped with and I received a few fragrances that I enjoy in return, but I may have to repurchase it or at least another travel size. It is just such a sophisticated fragrance, much more so that the two flankers, which are too sweet for my liking. I will update once I get to know it better. It's a crime that only one other person has reviewed this, which leads me to believe that it doesn't have the "fragrance cult" it deserves. EDIT 11/4/2022 - I just knocked my full bottle over. The stopper came out. I have about 1/4" left, but hey - my slippers smell amazing! Sigh. Guess I'll be purchasing a new bottle very soon!! EDIT 1/7/23 - Have a new bottle and just love it! I saw that others say it reminds them of Balenciaga Paris, which is another love of mine, but Paris is all about violet and Alaia is much more about leather. I'm going to layer and see what happens, but love them both so much as they are combining them will improve either.

Sigh. Guess I'm the only one who has interest in this masterpiece, so much so that I just purchased my THIRD bottle after knocking my first 2 over. There was just barely enough left in the second bottle for a very slight dab, which reminded me how much I need to have it, though I am clearly going to figure out a way to keep it safe from my clumsiness. I guess I can decant a little at a time into a spray bottle, but the dabber makes the experience feel very luxe.

Its like if you took the pepper out of the original and blended it with valentina poudre. Smooth, musky, warm and sweet. Also quite powdery and the mixture of vanilla and leather smells amazing. Very feminine and gorgeous.

Anyone know where I can get this? Sounds beautiful. I'mm in NZ, so likely impossible...
