Alaïa Nude

I can taste this perfume in the back of my throat as I type this so I have to say that I'm incredulous about any qualification of Alaia Nude as "close to the skin." Seven sprays to my belly button, decollatage, and wrists is probably two too many, but I had a good time putting it on and I'm not really uncomfortable now. I also refute the poor longevity claims, but I'll allow that the physics of wearing fragrance is different for everyone. Not everyone moisturizes as assiduously as I do. Alais Nude was love at first sniff, despite its potent gardenia. It smelled like a clean and powerful version of Versace Crystal Noir to me because the Versace is quite dusty to my nose, but both perfumes share gardenia and coconut. Over time, Alaia Nude has lost the gardenia and gained je ne sais quoi. The scent is still floral, but I can now see how the note could be orange blossom (even though it's not overtly stated as such until the drydown). The coconut is still there, but I think it's slightly toned down as well. Overall, Alaia Nude smells a lot cleaner than it did initially. Maybe that's due to cedar, but I think it's much more likely on account of a cardamon note (mentioned in Fragrantica's article about this scent, but absent from the note pyramid on this page). I'm so glad I pulled this fragrance out today because I think it's matured into something much more approachable than I perceived it to be. This isn't just for special occasions. This is fresh and clean enough to be an everyday scent, but this is a perfume for the house of Alaia so that's not all there is to it. I think the orange blossom and generous musks give the fragrance energy and brightness. All that musk adds a little sexy shimmy to your walk too. Coconut cream-sandalwood smooths everything out and the tiniest bit of powder in the top notes punctuates Alaia Nude's polished freshness. If you're a tonka-hater, don't worry, it's barely detectable in the drydown. I don't detect leather at all. Edited to add: This has evolved to become an excellent summer scent— I used to think it smelled weird in heat. The coconut comes forward more and blends with the musky cardamon. It's gorgeous in 80 degrees and high humidity.

I am a huge fan of Alaia Blanche, I find it alluring, unique...Nude has the same vibe, which is surprising as they don't really have the same notes Nude is beautiful, maybe softer ..I detect the cashmeran, a bit of cedar, soft, the orange blossom is warm and gives it a floral undertone, it is rounded , sensuous, feminine, it has all the qualities the Blanche has..it has also projection, and longevity,.I find it less powdery than Blanche also..less balsamic maybe...as much as they are beautifully similar, I find it ok to own both..the vibe is the same, yet they have different character..Nude is softly floral amd powdery in the base...the leather is muted so don't expect a leather scent here...whereas Blanche is powdery from the start...I love Alaia Nude, it is so distinctive, so well done..it captures a beautiful femininity, Alaia gets women no doubt..I highly recommend this perfume, I feel uplifted wearing it ! Update: I love Blanche, I like Nude, it doesn't project as well...still, easy to wear, perfect for work..won't offend anybody..

Soooooo goooddddd. Crystal noir but smoother and more clearly coconutty. I sold crystal noir because it pulled too harsh on me but generally really loved the smell. This is the perfect version of crystal noir. This is very wearable in warm weather. It’s so expensive smelling. Creamy, perfectly sweet, coconutty. Yes I know there is no coconut.. apparently lol, it might be some of the notes mixing giving it that vibe. The cashmeran smoothens this out so nicely, sorry I just can’t get over it. Really great scent. Just wish it’d project more, but it’s worth the re sprays and over sprays! Ps. No, this isn’t powdery. It’s almost about to cross that line without crossing it. I hate powdery for reference 🤣 Longevity update! I could smell it in my clothes I was wearing for about 5-6 hours, faint smell but still detectable! This is a new fav of mine...

Wow - this one is stunning! I blind bought this for a great price and am so glad I did. I recently fell in love with Versace Crystal Noir EDT and when I saw this was comparable I figured I’d like it too. Well, I don’t just like it, I love it. It’s like a classier, sexier cousin to the Versace. I wouldn’t consider this super musky or super floral. It’s the perfect balance of soft musk with some light florals, balanced by a slight woody note. Feminine without being overbearing. I may need a back up because I do not want to run out of this! Definitely in my top 5 at the moment. I envision this scent paired with a soft and cozy sweater in cooler months, but I also think it would be great in the spring with a light cardigan.

What a beautiful scent and the power in this is the actual dry down. It's perfect fall/winter perfume. If you love white flowers and musk its a must have. Can not see why people are talking about synthetic smell, completely disagree. This is the best blended warm sensual perfume I have smelt in a while. This is what you would say class smells like or a classy well put together women. It's the kind of perfume that you wear in the winter and you're going out on a date or intermate one on one (date situation) It's an amazing perfume!, I walked around the shopping centre went home cooked food sat down ate and I can still smell it lingering around me. Too bad people don't know class when they see it... 10/10

I am totally and utterly in love with nude! Beautiful, warm, embracing fragrance. It's super feminine and luxurious. It envelops me and melts right into my skin with incredible staying power and sillage. It's like a gourmand but not edible. It's a sweet honey soaked sandalwood, cashmere, powder and musk. It starts off very sweet and Woody and then goes into a very creamy powdery stage that lasts about 30 min. It finishes being a honey soaked sandalwood and musk. It's like a mix between sensuous and Lou Lou in my opinion. It's hard to describe. It's definitely the top on my want list.

Alaia Nude completes my collection of the Alaia perfumes. Very lovely, soft suede and dry scent. Very familiar. It strikes me as the sister, if not the twin, of Versace Crystal Noir. Gorgeous. I received a few compliments. This type of perfume seems to blend well with my chemistry. I get small wafts of it throughout the day but others seem to smell it quite clearly. Longevity is great on this summer day. Actually, Nude lasts for many days on my clothing. Sillage is great. My kids told me that I smell like a nice smelling "classroom" plus coconuts. This is one of my signatures.

This is my current favourite! I love how versatile and sensual this perfume is. It is warm, gentle, and you can almost feel the embrace of cashmere and tonka beans. I do not get the coconut note that others get, though. The longevity is also satisfactionary and sillage is perfect - not too overpowering but not to weak either. I find it perfect for the day time wear. Alaia Nude smells great during summer and fall however I feel it is suitable for any season.

This is one of those perfumes that I fell in love with right away, from the first spray. It is in the same category as Estee Lauder Sensuous, La Mia Perla and CK Reveal. Alaia Nude is drier than these and has a very discreet smell of coconut, although it does not contain it. It lasts very well on the skin and on the clothes and I receive compliments when I wear it. It is one of those perfumes "your skin, but better". Love it! 🤩😍🥰

This a very well rounded perfume. Unbelievably cozy, warm & sensual. It gives that comfy, silky-smooth, dreamy, happy feeling. It has the perfect amount of powder to be soft and sensual without being too cloying and without feeling like you’ve opened a makeup box. Its softness makes it perfect for wearing day or night, all year round. Reminds me a little bit of Narciso edp & Narciso poudree, only better.

It’s a delicate , comforting and cosy smell with a hint of sexiness. I receive a lot of compliments from this fragrance. The notes I get are Cashmere , creamy musk and coconut but somehow the coconut is not listed in the notes. Great summer fragrance! I bought this as a blind buy as it was discounted due to being discontinued. I Love this and wish it was still around.

Definitely my favourite out of the trio! I get a really strong coconut and sandalwood accord, smells sensual with an edge and would be quite an affordable alternative to YSL Caban if you manage to cop this at a decent deal, as I understand this is now hard to come by! I don’t perceive any sharpness in the perfume, very easy to wear and perfect for work!

Very cozy, creamy & comforting. I wear Alaia Nude during the day and layer it with BBW Snowflakes & Cashmere, so good In the evening I wear Versace Crystal Noir and layer it with BBW Snowflakes & Cashmere and top up with Hypnotic Poison EDT, omg the coziest. This was love at first sniff and certainly signature worthy. Alaïa Nude is what you would get if Santal 33 and Crystal Noir had a baby as it's more feminine than the former, and smoother, more elevated than the latter. The fragrance is as sophisticated as an Alaïa lace dress. Sillage is moderate, longevity is phenomenal - I get over 8 hours.

This is just gorgeous! Soft, feminine, warm, comforting but still very chic/classy smelling fragrance. I heard that Jeremy Fragrance said, "Mon Guerlain smells like a wife". He must not have smelled Alaïa Nude.

So similar to Crystal Noir. This is like a delicate skin scent version. I think this would be great for summer. It has a very smooth velvety coconut scent. I love it.

Beautiful perfume, soft and creamy. Unfortunately longevity on my skin is very poor. People around me also does not seem to notice this perfume.

Comfort in a bottle. Cashmere and musk will forever be nostalgic and homey notes for me, because so many of the women who raised me wore signature scents heavy in both, but now that I’m grown up (I guess) I’ve been searching for my own take on them. I was looking for something that’s familiar enough but still unique, something inoffensive and sweet with a secret little twist, and I think Alaïa Nude is it. It’s so delicate but the sharpness of the cedar stops it from becoming a boring snooze. The orange blossom smells like the real thing, not a tangy acidic synthetic flower, and that grounds this airy fantasy scent to earth. It’s bright at first spray but it settles so quick and so smooth into a beautiful second skin. A hug in a bottle. And what a beautiful bottle it is, too! Definitely not a snooze of a scent but it makes a great under the sweater scent, a bedtime scent, or a self care comfy day reading a good book in your pjs scent. It’s a well timed hug from someone you love, nurturing and warm, but strong. It’ll last all day. Leave it alone on your skin and hours later it’ll have morphed into a you-but-better scent, like all the hidden kindest parts of you are on display. If you wear it to sleep it’s like waking up on a soft fluffy cloud. You might fall back asleep once you sniff it though. There's sweetness here, but I find that it comes and goes. My emotions on this scent are definitely biased and tinted with a lot of nostalgia for the loved ones it reminds me of, so take a generous helping of salt with this review, but I think it’s truly great for other reasons too. It’s all together a beautiful presentation, both perfume and bottle.

Oh Azzedine Alaia!! Why can't I smell your perfumes! I just received my bottle in the mail today and couldn't wait to try it on! One spray - good! Several more sprays - gorgeous. Five minutes later - gone, except for the faintest trace of a skin scent. I had the same issue with Alaia EDP in the black bottle - so full of promise at first, then minutes later, POOF! It's gone! Most of the reviews say that this has good longevity and impressive silage, and I desperately wish that my experience was the same, because what I can smell is beautiful, particularly the tonka. Given my experience with the EDP, I don't have much hope that this will change over time or in a different season, but I will hold on to Nude the same way I have held on to my bottle of Alaia. The bottles themselves are far too pretty for me to part with them. So here's to hoping that under the right conditions, this will offer me more than a moment's pleasure. EDIT - patience is a virtue when it comes to letting some scents sit and settle before retrying them. Nude is one such creature. I smell it fully today off of two spritzes. My immediate impression is beachy, and similar to TH's Soleil Blanc, but less cloying. There is a brief moment of "bug spray" as it transitions from top to mid notes, similar to Cersace Crystal Noir, but it passes quickly. While I read this as a summer scent in moderation, I can imagine it also working beautifully in the fall and winter. This is elegance in a bottle.

Spring test but cold weather, skin. Feels on the sharp side to me, i woukdnt class estee sensuous nude the same.. but not eons away The musk is clean and rounded, the wood lends the wood fuzz, there is a fresh undercurrent aboutbthis which i like, the scent is not a freshie though. I cant place this quite honestly, its not a very string scent, though definately present, on the clean slightly warm side without being sweet or gourmand, clean, wood floral, musk... Hmmm Quite nice still, not a longevity beast, i had several hours 3..4.. ish

Alaiia ́s perfumes last forever and stay for good. Period. If anyone has concerns about their longevity, may sigh with relief. They are more than durable and longlasting. You may not be capable of sniffing them, everyone around you could. I have Paris and Blanche. Love them. Paris is a masterpiece. Blanche is exquisite. Nude is perfect roundness and beauty. Period. Take them as niche perfumes (they are!) and be thankful they are mass production.

At first this was predictably ‘nice girl’. And I’m not going to say it turns into a vamp boudoir scent but it has grown on me a fair bit to the point I am going to source a large decant or a partial bottle. I will use it for dates because I think this is the kind of perfume men want to smell on women. It’s warm, sweet and slightly floral. It’s not interesting or sexy to me but it’s extremely wearable and somewhat comforting.

This is one of the perfume I have that has wonderful silage and longevity. I feel like I can use it any time and any season of the year. Orange blossom is not very pronounce, on me it’s warmth, musky, cashmeran. It has such good quality that I can still smell it in my clothes in the laundry basket after 3 days. You might like this if are Ellie Saab fan.

I only get coconut, very similar & tamer than Crystal Noir plus very feminine. My skin is dry & eats fragrance up so after initial spray and 10 mins later only a very soft coconut. But get wafts from my jumper. Would like other notes to lift or deepen this. Will give an update after wearing it for 24 hours, lets see what happens.

An all round well-balanced scent. The cedar, leather and musk come through beautifully and stays close to skin. Good if you want a scent that only you or someone in close range can smell. This is female without the cloying sweetness of florals. Good for those who want something feminine without smelling like flowers.

This is actually the best I have tried from Alaia. The EDP version and the Blache version weren't really my taste, but this skin scent is quite good. It could be very nice beach and summer scent. I sense it as sensual, lightly woody, balsamic and sweet. Very distinct "nude" perfume. My favorite from this brand.

Nice oriental woody scent, well balanced, warm and cozy. I am not a fan of orientals, but I really like this one. If you like woods and tonka bean, try it.

This is coconut body oil at the beach smell on me. Sweet coconut with skin scented musk.

I don't understand the hype on this fragrance. It opens slightly pungent and sharp and although the drydown is nice, it sits really close to the skin so not even I could smell it unless I pressed my nose to my wrist. This could easily be a $15 bottle of perfume as it is fairly nondescript in my opinion. Overrated and money is better spent on a fragrance that can be appreciated without burying your nose in your wrist to smell it.

This is a velvety version of Crystal Noir. It's feminine and full of coconut. Reminds me of a beach holiday where one stays at a resort and needs something to wear for dinner. I am a huge fan of the original Alaïa and so bought the Nude and Blanche just for fun - so I don't wear it very often. But I guess I'll wait until my next beach holiday...

If SJP Stash and Stash Unspoken had a baby it would smell like Alaia nude. Maybe with a touch of CK Reveal. it's all about the sandalwood and cashmeran on me.very unisex. Just woody and aromatic, not sweet at all. Like a pine tree wood. I don't consider smelling like a wood feminine or sexy. There are no flowers or fruits or gourmand notes at all. I thought I can blind buy it sice I loved all the previous Alaia versions but this blind buy went wrong. The longevity and sillage are fairely good as expected with such synthetic notes.

Everything about this smells synthetic and cheap to me, like stepping out of the shower after using a drugstore body wash. It's soapy, musky and vaguely floral but altogether forgettable.

Just this side of too powdery for me. No aldehydes listed but gives a similar impression at first.

@étoilesdejasmin, I think bottles of Nude are pretty hard to come by right now. It’s still available on Alaïa’s official site so it hasn’t been discontinued yet. Maybe cheaper bottles will resurface later on. I have seen a few bottles pop up on Mercari but they tend to sell pretty quickly. You can also try the Perfumed Court for a decant or EBay for samples. Blanche is still pretty available. It resembles Nude but it’s sweeter, stronger and a lot more powdery. EBay would probably be the best place to purchase it depending on your location. It’s gorgeous and definitely worth checking out. Also, I just got Montana 80 recently and it smells very much like Crystal Noir and Nude. If you like those, odds are you would like 80. Not only was it made by the same perfumer who created CN edp/edt but it performs similarly and is pretty cheap on Fragrancenet. Personally, I think Nude is the weakest of the bunch and the least interesting. If you can’t find it for a decent price, you really could go without. That’s just my opinion based on my own personal taste. Your preference might be different. Hope this was helpful!

An ingenious, classy woodsy-powdery scent that exudes warmth and elegance. A must test for the lovers of powdery perfumes. The woods (cashmiran, cedar, and sandalwood) are smoothed out with the musk and the sweet, creamy, and nutty tonka bean. There's a light fruity undertone, that starts softly peachy then turns a bit coconutty, would that be (frangipani) or (peach and coconut)? However, this fruity vibe fades down quickly. The dry iris and violet, along with the suede and labdanum are evident and are creating a chemical hairspray smell that I like, but this eases out throughout the transition. The light floral (rose, jasmine, and orange blossom) are fresh and sweet, but faint, so they better get discovered by smelling the cap of the bottle. I can detect shy aldehyde creating a weak soapy-fresh vibe. Probably a hint of salt and cardamom is there in the blend. Not romantic or sexy, but still very sensual and intimate. Now, this is the closest option to Valentina Poudre I know about, although nothing can beat that miraculous Valentina whatsoever.

The first time I sprayed this it went straight into the ‘pass on’ box - I was not a fan - and looking back I believe my nose wasn’t tuned into all the notes there. I kept trying and it didn’t take long for me to discover its beauty - I now adore this perfume! So much so, that I purchased a back up bottle and it sits by my bedside - this perfume comforts me and has become my favourite bedtime scent when I snuggle up and smile with pleasure. I would not say this is overly powdery at all - it’s got a subtle freshness and the leather is also very subtle. It’s become one of my favourite fumes! Blanche is also beautiful - more projecting and intense. I cherish all of the Alaia’s and don’t want to ever be without them!

Subtle, peaceful, feminine, elegant, cozy, powdery, creamy, leather, slightly soapy. It's easy, inoffensive scent. As many mentioned here it stays close to skin. Lovely, but 'quiet' in many aspects. Will work great in office when you want to feel nice, but don't want to disturb anyone else around. After some hour it starts to get weird on my skin, like not so great blend as before. It becomes more like suede. Seems more for adult or grown up woman 25+. Any season except hot summer.

we need to talk more about this perfume , so i have been really dousing on this one because I FEEL it is really light , well some people were feeling otherwise today at brunch my friend told me that this perfume reminded him of jungle by kenzo , i have no idea if this is accurate since i have never smelled jungle. so with this in mind i will change my previous review and say the sillage is pretty good maybe two spritz and you are good to go, i really love this one is amazing !

@smath778: Don't listen to anything that skinny dork, Germy "Herpes" Fragrance, says, he has never been to pafumeur college, and literally, knows NOTHING about fragrances from a professional standpoint. It's all guesswork, speculation, and subjectivity; not a very good resume to put all your clams into when believing anything he says.

it does have a estee lauder vibe and it is good, is way more subtle and is definitely a skin scent you really can ́t over spray this one . honeslty i love it i had no intentions to buy perfume today and yet here i am , it is super nice but don ́t expect people to notice , it has a minimal sillage

A very powdery suede which reminds me of ELDO Putain des Palaces. A hint of violet, the dominant colours are purple and brown. This also smells a lot like Chanel Beige.

Very beachy smelling and sensuous nude is what i think of when smelling this, with Alaia being more smoother. Also reminds me of the EL Bronze Goddess flankers.

To me the drydown smells like Prada Candy Kiss. Musky, warm and recognizable.
