Shogun

Alain Delon’s Shōgun is a slightly bitter, floral woody musk for the summer side of things. Unconventional and conventional in its scent and feel, Shōgun is a bit of an oddball that is crisp, fresh and oriental at the same time. The quirkiness starts with a well placed note of the ever fashionable tomato leaf, adding its tarty ‘verte’ to a herbaeous basil, mopped in tangy citruses, particularly bergamot, that comes across like a silvery green tea essence before entering the heart and soul of Shōgun. This bitter green airiness makes its way to a middling lavender that is shaken in light pepper, rolling towards warm florals of orange blossom and jasmine, tinged with cinnamon, that surrender to a shōbu note, the Nippon variant of calamus, releasing a spirited, spicy, woody, sweetness onto a decorative base of cool vetiver, dry wood resins, toned leather, and customary musk; essentially providing Shōgun with an uplifting freshness along side an exotic balance... A fun fact or myth to note, given the theme, the shōbu flowering plant in Samurai folklore, basically sweet flag, was valued for its apotropaic properties to offset superstition and ward off its supposed evil. That said, each spritz of Shōgun may safeguard your inner emperor from demonology in its wearing; an added plus that probably no other freshie can address!... All kidding aside, this crisp chilled tonic with an oriental twist, simply invigorates with freshly, bittersweet sophistication that is elegant, casual, light in its feet and reach. Shōgun is a minor revelation, like most under the Alain Delon designer name; a house that might as well be niche in this era, given its ‘under the radar’ mystery and its creative tags sliding onto the vintage stage at exorbitant premiums on secondary markets... Zen wearing indeed!

alain delon is one of the most charismatic european actors of all time, he's french but in italy is still very popular and he also made many great movies with italian directors. so im proud to have few fragrances of his brand. shogun is a fantastic spring-summer scent, fresh and invigorating. it opens with bergamot, then we have tomato leaf, lavender, sage, musk and pepper. this combo gives a nice cocktail vibe, like mojito or something close. so it's refreshing, clean and bitter, but classy and elegant at the same time. it's quite unique, not easy fo find something similar. for example, paco rabanne energy or guerlain homme have a similar fresh-cocktail vibe, so not the same smell but similar league...performance is average, nothing amazing but not weak for sure. for 28 and up, for any situation. tres bien delon! onorato di avere qualche profumo del mitico alain delon, uno degli attori europei più carismatici di sempre e ancora molto amato in italia. shogun è un edt fresco, pulito e un pò amaro, una vibe che ricorda il mojito. ha una certa classe nonostante sia molto casual. piuttosto originale, difficile trovare qualcosa simile. scent-8,5 longevity-7 sillage-7 uniqueness-8.5 versatility-8 presentation-8 back up bottle?yes compliment factor-7,5 my vote-8,5 in one word- mojito alternative- guerlain homme, paco rabanne energy(not the same smell but similar vibe)

Coming back to Shogun. I am somebody who likes dry, bitter, floral fragrances if the are made in an uplifting "fresh way". This is the best in that genre. Adding the basil and tomato leaf make it special while lavender, lemon and bergamot keep it invigorating. Its never pushy yet has a tremendous longevity underneath the shirt as the body heat keeps it working. Its never soapy, never heavy. Just brilliantly blended, 100% to my taste!

Love this one!!! Its fresh spicy and reminds me of a cool, chilled gin tonic drink. A bit bitter and maybe also sour and thats why I adore its special freshness!!!Nothing out there resembles its character. Another great one from Delon!!!

I used earlier Shogun Edt. Today difficult to obtain ... I'm a big fan of Delon's collection of fragrances! For me all of them, the "Plus" is the favorite, but that I liked "Shogun"! It was a little shrill overtones and Unisex me the feeling provoked me with flowers Heart notes ........ I agree with Chris in the way he describes it: sour and fresh atmosphere !! In summer, the days could airy and well-being of the use of the move. More glass is used up, the last he managed to get a "Samourai" is to trade! Currently, I have a "Plus" and "Samourai" Alain Delon collection.I am very pleased I use them occasionally! There have always been so impressed with Delon perfumes! Unique, uplifting and great products! Congratulations! Message to the manufacturer: It could be a new edition of the 80-year-old actor's honor! Whether creating a new perfume, or the old fragrances on the market again!
