Shakes Pear

These days it doesn’t happen often that I smell something truly new—but here I have to say it: I had never smelled anything like this before. At SNOUF 2026 I had the pleasure of meeting the founder and perfumer of the brand, Mr. Allegretti, a chemist by profession. When he explained his philosophy, the care in selecting raw materials, and the use of ancient recipes and natural ingredients whenever possible, it was immediately clear that there is real competence behind these perfumes—not just marketing. And the result proves it. Shakes Pear, the latest creation from this very successful brand (presented at the fair), is a pear-patchouli combination in perfect balance, with the pear clearly taking center stage. There is a slight hint of red fruits in the opening, but soon the pear takes over—and its realism is astonishing. It smells exactly like the pear juice I used to drink as a child: that soft, slightly watery sweetness that I thought would be impossible to capture in a perfume. The patchouli (which we even had the chance to smell in pure form at the fair) is of Indian origin, very earthy and of excellent quality. In the composition it provides the perfect counterbalance to the pear without ever overpowering it. One important note though: this perfume has to be your thing. It’s an intense fruity fragrance, not a polite “office-friendly” fruit scent. Anyone looking for something discreet or conventional might turn up their nose. But if you want something unusual and well made, this is a real treat. Longevity is excellent and the quality of the materials is clearly noticeable. Great work. I’m curious to see—or rather smell—what comes next. Edit: two different people complimented my perfume from a distance while I was wearing it, so it’s worth noting that this fragrance has strong projection and a noticeable trail.
