OUT WEST A.M

Sometimes you have to go out your way to find great things and this release from Indonesian house Alchemist is a prime example. Helmed by Jean-Christophe Hérault we naturally expect it to be good but what he's delivered is a masterclass in fresh perfumery. Not only is it incredible value but a flawless example of the citrus-woody style he became so well known for with Aventus. Out West A.M takes a more simple, naturalistic approach to the genre - there's a warm, uplifting presence from the ginger/pink pepper and a prominent woody feel from the patchouli and leathery notes. This feels somewhat more grown up than (modern) Aventus without its fruit basket or shades of sweetness but the basic theme remains. The main thing you're getting is a high quality patchouli with a resinous hue, smoky nuances and a gentle but persistent blend of citrus and spice lingering over the top. The blending and quality of materials is evident as this smells as good as any niche marketed perfume in the west. A versatile and mass appealing scent which takes the sum of it's parts to the next level thanks to flawless execution!
