Euphoria

It is ok, the opening is nice. It's a familiar fragrance being an sweet amber, but there is something new that sets it slightly apart from many many other amber fragrances. If I smelled this before I encountered other well known Ambers then it would be an easy purchase. But I have encountered many floral ambers and own several, and then ultimately it isn't new enough for me. It is a very solid, nice floral amber though. And probably unisex enough many people. The drydown, I don't detect a gooseberry note. It makes it a good, but fairly standard amber drydown for me

Not being one to shy away from florals, this combination of ylang ylang and jasmine works perfectly on an amber base. The addition of vanilla only making it more entrancing. The fragrance opens up with the aforementioned florals along with labdanum, providing a slight suede tinge... swaying the needle squarely into unisex territory. The heart brings some earthy, woody notes - but the amber is already beginning to take centre stage, mixing with these florals to create a feeling of calm and comfort... Like a warm hug 🤗 What surprises me the most in the base is the gooseberry accord - certainly not a common note in fragrances and I would go as far as guessing not many have experience with the fruit. As a young child, my grandmother had an overgrown gooseberry bush she had trained along her fence. My older sister and I would escape the midday sun by hiding inside this bush - imagining mystical worlds while gathering and eating these gooseberries. The transportative magic of fragrance to evoke memory is one of the reasons I chase new scents... and when moments like these occur I feel it only fuels my obsession (*cough* addiction!!)
