Dark Papyrus

Definitely, I'm a McQueen fan. Definitely, it's a unique perfume; elegant and expensive with excellent sillage and longevity - the best from the McQueen Collection line IMHO. Perfectly presented Cassis and Vetiver ! The smell of dry and dusty papyrus script heavily stained with ink and much more is going on here... though I can't clearly distinguish any floral note, maybe Ylang-ylang and Iris only; certainly spicy but not sweet fruity scent: tingling, uplifting, green and woody and yet sophisticated and so beautiful. Unisex and unique, unique, unique.... very original fragrance. Must not be missed for sure!!!

Beautifully done cassis! I am not a fan of green and sour representations of cassis/ black currant such as L'Ombre Dans L'Eau but look for the fruit - think creme de cassis liquor in a kir royal cocktail, where the sweetness is not overwhelming thanks to the champagne. The woodsy notes really bring the balance for this fragrance without any sourness. I think this is an incredibly unique fragrance and I can't think of anything else resembling it. I kind of wish it was more popular to get the recognition it deserves but I am also happy to keep this gem for myself.

My favorite from the McQueen offerings, this is a good one. Its fruity, but runs more bitter/tart than sweet. This fruity concoction runs equal to the papery papyrus and woody notes. A nice yin yang of sweet and bitter makes this unusual and a stand out. Excellent longevity and projection and runs slightly more feminine vs masculine. End of the day this is elegant and expensive smelling. Defiantly worth a try, especially if you are a McQueen fan.

My favorite from sampling the Alexander McQueen offerings. Papyrus with natural, light spices, it’s linear and beautiful and I love it. Good performance all the way around.

This is a bitter green, with woody undertones on my skin. It has moderate lasting power, but, all in all, nothing special. I expected more from McQueen. I have 'My Queen' which, although very different, is heaps better than this one. It reminds me of Mugler Aura, when I smelled it on someone else. No more McQueens for me.

This is also fruity. The notes say cassis, but to my nose it smells like plum. This fruity-woody combination reminds me of something like Byredo's Bibliotheque. It's not exactly that, but it reminds me of a similar combination of plum, incense, and woods.
