Kingdom

I am always amused by the comments from Kingdom, and this is due to the fact that the notoriety of the late designer but also the new doll line that the brand took (it also has some exceptions in the old spirit but with a flower you can not make spring) attracted people who do not understand what was wanted with Kingdom. This perfume was not created for showcases women and live dolls, it was not created for praline and candy smell lover, not eater, because nobody isn't a bigger candy eater lover than me, let's be clear. This fragrance still reflects the trend of Alexander MCQUEEN in the early 2000s, it was for the woman who came out of the feminist era, at that time no one suspected how it would collapse after 2006, who theoretically had acquired all those rights and freedoms and now do not learn it anymore they simply lived them, it was this young, rebellious, powerful self-controlled woman in a bolder suit with more intriguing colors, more intrusive, more modern than the feminist predecessors, unfortunately the young women preferred mini skirts instead of blazers and men with money instead of success and power....sad memory, speaking about hard work through out of the windows. Yes it is a harsh, astringent, strong perfume, yes it has some weird reactions on different skin types, not everyone can wear herbal stuff, and if you put a predominantly herbal scent over your body lotion with glitter and the smell of pink cotton candy you shouldn't be surprised that a disaster is coming, but on clean skin, on the stature of a strong woman Kingdom breaks mountains. It is an extremely strong and cold mentholated neroli, followed by a mature carnation, in combination with spicy ginger and an earthy herbal strong note, it practically smells like a graveyard after the rain who succeeded an European funeral, where you see carnation and green plants almost everywhere, the last note is an earthy musk and crushed and wet tree moss. Combined, it awakens the idea of black, of bloody red, bring in a somehow fresh blood smell, not oxidised blood, but all perfumes with powerful neroli carnations and celery do that. No it's not a fragrance for a lolita dress and Candy Pink, or for a t-shirt with Mickey mouse, jeans and that doll make-up, it is a perfume for "electric" black, for royal purple, for khaki, dark unapologetic red, suits, pants and blazer, no "cute" shoes, and especially not "doll" make-up. It's called Kingdom, and it's not talking about Alice, talks about the evil queen who cuts off the heads for pleasure, talks about the monarch queen who obtained her empire through work and leads it with her iron hand and steel sword. I personally see a young woman with short hair dyed purple, dark purple, dressed in this sour cherry suit, velvet, and wearing a lipstick in the same colour as the hair, she stands in the middle of the street with her hands folded smiling wickedly and looking at you, and you can't move because that street, that neighborhood is all hers, her Kingdom. The perfume is this combination of the "old" feminine power with a modern way of dominating attitude. I think any young woman who aspires to power has to smell it at least once, maybe she won't go crazy, but she will definitely understand it. As for the "eroticism" described by some people, that eroticism is exactly the vibe of power and confidence that this perfume have, there is nothing about boudoir in, is just about the power, the power was and will be the most seductive thing for humans. Unfortunately it is difficult to find, there are many people who do not use it, even finds it hard to bear, didn't like it but refuse to sell it because "cute bottle". As for Dune, for me Dune is the definition of dessert, it is a dry powdery scent, which speaks of warmth, sandy, sun, this one is wet, cold, and overwhelming, yes have common notes but go in totally opposite directions, I have not yet come across a perfume like this or which to really reminds me of it, but I would love to find such a thing.

Lucky guy I am. Found it just now in the shop near my office, 50 ml edp at 30 Euros..could not believe it..they told it was a bargain leftover discontinued..customers didn't appreciate it so they kept it unsold under an old desk..and imagine..they gave me the tester also for free..cause now in 2018 they would have thrown it away.Unbelievable..I felt like a thief ;) Talking about the essence now..definitely I can smell the sweat note apparent from the beginning, a dry sort of sweat, like a worn shirt in the summer heat..and that's the part I love most...After 2 minutes something slighty floral and red starts kicking off, subtle and like a ghost of an old rose petal, dried. The composition lying in a bed of metallic allure, goes on showing its comforting but funereal aura, like a dusty glove you take with you everywhere,and stays like this for a long time so its quite linear on my skin, luckily I must say.In the end to make clear its gothic attitude a note of burned rubber starts to linger in the most soft way and I see it like the coronation of this bloody lactone sweaty masterpiece..An olfactive experience more than a EDP.Longevity is good enough, sillage is really close to the skin but it's the nature of this fragrance and it's meant to be like that. By the way I like wearing this in summer also(1st of August right now in Rome as I'm writing), just a tiny bit and find it very alluring cause the very warm weather emphasizes the sweat and metallic notes so if you're through human fluids odors in the mad way I am, then hot weather is the right time to wear Kingdom.Unapologetically

I have this as a token to the gods in my shrine of Perfume collections. As ruby delicate and beautiful as the bottle is, I have it sealed in its original box as to not disturb it with the slightest of particles. Be it gentil dust or mere light. This is sinfully delicious. Its a magical potion. Upon wearing it, it releases some mystical power. Once this scent travels up and touches the olfactory glands, the fibroblasts calls all senses to sensually aline. It commands a higher production of pheromones and instantly makes one feel sensual. Not sexy like a young girl at a club. This is a head turning sensual woman directing the room's attention on her not giving a damn what others think of her. She already knows her worth. She isn't playing chess, she is the queen ruling a kingdom. When I wear this magic potion, I know I'm in for a memorable experience (deep sigh, mmm). It doesn't care your pesant sexual preference, this does something that ignites a mortal's sexual animalistic instinct of desire, and makes one forget their society imposed boundaries. Maybe its a placebo, but maybe it is some kind of magic potion. A little goes a long way. Too much is not a good thing. Use with caution. I feel as if I won the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket with my bottle of Love Potion. Challenge: if you've never tried it. Try it. Even if YOU don't particularly "like it", as its not your average department store scent, see how others react round you. I'm curious to hear back on your results. Kingdom WOW!!! I bought this fragrance a few days after hearing the Death of the Great Alexander McQueen. I had heard alot about this fragrance but was never able to find it and the prices on ebay were and still are unreasonable and ridiculous. But when I found the fragrance, I bought it blindly and after having a shower at Home, I unboxed it and I sprayed it on to my skin and all of a sudden I was living in another time. A time of Great Kingdoms and Grand castles where women were Innocent Princesses and Men were Valiant Knights. But in this perfect Kingdom; evil lurks through the dark corridors and through the dark cold shadows of the night. I felt lustful, I felt dangerous and I felt like a Gothic Queen when I wore this fragrance for the first time. The scent in itself is extremely powerful, which for me makes it hard to wear because I just can't imagine a place where I could wear this fragrance without offending anyone. You definetly pick up that heavy spiciness, its very earthy and herbal and very diffeent. There are moments where it takes on a Body-Odour sort of quality which for me seems quite Erotic and Intimate. It's like the after smell of very hot, dirty sex performed in a field of flowers. For me there isn't much seperation between the notes, everything seems to be moulding with one another. Kingdom is very dark, it's dangerous, powerful and borderline demonic. AND I LOVE IT. Scent: 9/10 Projection: 10/10 Longevity: 9/10

(about the EdP) I don't find it sweaty or dirty. Warm, rich, very woody, spicy and very long lasting fragrance. Unusual, but in a non-aggressive way for sure. Very similar to Dune (except Dune's top notes), just deeper and darker. Love them both, but prefer Kingdom. These cumin and myrrh notes... pure perfection. As it is written on the box - pierce my heart again. So I fall in love with Kingdom over and over again. It needs to be admired. This is a work of art. It's probably the first one of so called animalic perfumes that I really love, so don't be misleaded by all those stereotypes about heavy and light fragrances (even if you like flowers in bloom:)) and give it a try even if you believe you won't like it:) You may be surprised (jasmine, rose!). Kingdom is not dangerous (only if you want it to be). It is beautifuly shadowy and comforting (as Alexander McQueen's enigmatic creations). Particularly suitable for quiet winter nights, when the snowflakes are big and falling slowly... or for gloomy rainy autumn... In fact, it can be used in summer as well. Sorry for so little words about fragrance's notes and so many emotions, but for me this is such an "atmospheric" fragrance, as one could be... p.s. I hope, nobody thinks that i don't shower when i wear Kingdom:))

I were beyond excited when I got my bottle in the mail. I had read these amazing reviews (both good and bad) and I just couldn't keep myself from paying an almost too good amount of money to get my hands on it. On my skin it starts off awful. I can't be any kinder with it. I spray it on, hold my breath and wave my arms around to get through the worst part. I absolutely get the sweat that people are talking about, sharp and vulgar. After a couple of minutes the BO scent calms down and disappears (thank you) and turns into this warm, deep, calming, romantic, soft, brave (I can go on for ages) scent that's so intoxicating it's hard to believe that human hands really created it. Yeah I know, big words, but those of you who share my love for it understand exactly what I mean. So well balanced and magic, completely androgynous and medieval in a way. Imagine an old medieval castle hallway with dusty deep red velvet curtains, wooden flor, suits of armor lined up along the walls and red roses in a vase. A hallway where the air has been still for decades. A beautiful, melancholic mourning in a way. Alexander McQueen Kingdom is a universe of its own, strong and deep with a fragile, beautiful core. A hard one to put a finger on, but an easy one to understand.

Delicious! I found a sample size spray of this on ebay to try, and I love it! The top notes start off sexy, spicy, fresh, and slightly animalic and masculine - only very slightly. It reminds me of Womanity and Angel - two perfume that I don't really like, but I love this! I find Kingdom's initial spray is lighter and more wearable than Mugler's two perfumes. The middle layer is very nice too (maybe my favorite part!) as it reminds me of Ralph Lauren Hot which I used to wear in high school, but this is more grown up. The base notes have this awesome musky, what I call a "doctor's smell" (am I crazy? Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?) that's just so sexy and clean - I notice the same sensation in Katy Perry's Killer Queen at some point. So, though I find that Kingdom is strange yet likeable and sexy at first, and the dry down just gets cozier and cozier! The life of the fragrance is pretty long, maybe 6 or 4 hours? I think this is a great quality fragrance, and am definitely going to try to get a full size bottle, though it's so expensive! Grr, why could they not find a way to continue this fragrance? They should totally have a commemorative McQueen re-release - it would totally sell, sell, sell and make a lot of perfumistas happy!

This makes me think "herbs and spices"--but minimal on the herbs. Have ever smelled Theo Fennell Scent? Scent is a love of mine, feminine, more floral, completely different--I acquired a.bottle in a swap years ago, and fell for it. This has the same cumin note, but more pronounced, because it pops against a very woody smelling golden Oriental musk. And there is enough moss to make it especially odd. Between moss, rhubarb, ginger and celery seed it is vegetable-tinged. This is made to be sensual, since cumin is always said to be imitating body odor, put it with musk and it is bound to smell a little sexual. This is decidedly masculine and very unique. A vapor of a vegetable like green beans in a curry cooked with fresh spice seeds, rather than an intense orange powder or sauce. A smooth muskiness that reminds me of saffron-based perfumes, probably because the rose, cumin and sometimes amber are usually accompanying the note. This smells good and unique, like a good perfume composition, but also so strong and spicy that it smells like it could be something other than a perfume. Not for my skin, I generally like to smell more feminine. And I get all of the cumin I could ever want from Theo Fennell Scent.

The beginning and initial spray can cause turmoil, even well into the middle. I wouldn't suggest this to be sprayed loud. I think it should be worn as a very up close and personal scent. It's intimate. It is self-indulgent, BOLD and naughty, but not dirty. It's a strong Euro scent. The rose in the Kingdom sweetens and doesn't allow the rhubarb to completely dominate. I smell the flowers very little as they are blended meticulously... but... stop and smell the Rose. The true pink rose gives it just the right amount of sweet, lending itself to an elegant, smart fem fatale that can be dangerous. The ginger in this cuts nicely and adds a slightly sharp edge to keep you on your toes. I'd also suggest men to wear this. There's just enough bite and roughness about it, but not harshness. on complete dry down it has a proper touch of musky masculine strength. So you're secured. with wearing it For me, it's fem fatale that's definitely got the backing she needs...and All of the security that's needed is protecting this Kingdom by Alexander McQueen. He left a gem. No over spray. Seriously, it can be lethal...you could get arrested. *silliage 4/10 *projection minimal after hours

Someone please help me! My favorite perfume of all time is Kingdom by Alexander McQueen. It is unlike anything I have ever smelled - and I have smelled a LOT between the dozens of samples I have ordered and the perfume shops in my city I have consulted. It is mysterious, sexy, makes me feel like I’m in some gold covered magical temple. It is not too sweet, not too dry, and so well blended, you can’t tell what’s in there. There’s a bit of flowers and a bit of spice. And it is discontinued. I have a bottle from about 16 years ago, and I’m aware that it is available on eBay, but it is so expensive. Fragrantica lists Penhaligon’s LP no. 9 as something that smells like it, but to me it’s just a masculine shadow of it. And the others listed smell nothing like it. I have also tried My Queen which is nothing like it. I have sampled other perfumes by Jacques Cavallier, and I have cross referenced other people who love Kingdom to see what was on their “love” lists, but nothing came close to it either. Is there anyone out there who knows of anything that smells like Kingdom, or gives you that similar other worldly feeling?

Kingdom surprised me, as I would never have expected such an intriguing scent from a house such as Alexander McQueen. The notes swirl around in fantastic harmony and smells incredibly unique, in a brilliantly filthy way. I have heard others describing this as smelling like sex, and I would have a hard time disagreeing with them. A bright, zesty and tart opening of a multitude of citrus fruits is combined with the subtle sharpness of just a hint of mint. This tart juiciness is intensified by the note of rhubarb which smells simply fantastic, whilst a spicier heart of ginger and warm carnation develops. When I first smelled this, I was honestly expecting cumin to be listed in the breakdown, the spiciness and ‘sweaty’ nature really comes through - in a good way. A selection of gentle soapy florals and musks brightens things up, but only enough to create an image of clean linen strewn across the floor; a backdrop for the main display of two warm bodies enjoying each others company. I think this is a brilliant creation, would I wear it? Probably not, but I would definitely enjoy it in the hidden serenity of my home.

Kingdom is notoriously famous too, but I love the mood it presents, gothic and dark in a powerful way. Kingdom is amazing. It developes so differently on different people(and on animals too!). On me, the cumin note is very dirty, extremely animalic. It lasts so long and overwhelms the floral notes totally. I like this animalic feeling, very erotic, full of lust.and I understand why people say it has armpit smell or body odour. yes, sometimes. but it doesn't always smell like that. A friend tried the same EDP version another day, and it turns into a very beautiful froral notes on her. There is the cumin note as well, but much lighter and cleaner than on me. the floral notes are still with the dark feeling, very dense. I also find my cat is crazy for it! When I wear Kingdom, he will keep on licking my wrist. I've tried dozens of perfumes, everytime he just run away, and this is the only one he likes! I know Kingdom is on the one-star-trash list in Mr.Turin's new book. Well, I'm afraid I couldn't agree with him this time, and nor my cat :P

Erotic and carnal; rather dry--celery seed and rhubarb play like the coriander and pepper in The Iceberg Fragrance to open. A little dirty heat, raw enough to make you grit your teeth. However, The Iceberg Fragrance transforms into something aloof and femininely alluring; Kingdom traverses into another realm entirely. Citrus brings in a subtle, sweet pulp and mint breathes a little life into the dryness. Ginger is clarifying in the way that strips away inhibition and apprehension. The warm amber and subtle musk base is scratched coarsely with jasmine and rose. Kingdom lies on either extreme of being incredibly primal or something entirely alien and psychic--in any event, it takes away the human nature to be emotive and is seemingly very physically reactive and kinetic. Kingdom is a challenging fragrance I couldn't wear easily or often, but it seems to work really well in solitude when I'm feeling energetic, powerful and productive. And yes, I love it--will be looking for a bottle of this for sure.

This is an interesting perfume that I reserve for cold days and smoky bars at night. When I first spray this perfume, as many others have noted, the top note smells pretty gross. I was really grossed out the first time I sprayed it and smelled something that reminded me of body odor and urine. However, it dries down into something quite nice - spicy, dark, mysterious. The dry-down reminds me of Hypnotic Poison minus the play-dough and vanilla (the former of which makes me almost never want to wear HP). This is a special perfume that I would never wear casually or on a hot day. *Edit - I wore this to a masquerade at a goth club last night and it was absolutely perfect for such an occasion. Dark, sensual, unusual, bold, gorgeous. It was one of the few scents that was able to cut through the smoke and insense burning in there. **Edit 2: I loooove this scent and wear it frequently at night. One of the sexiest, most mysterious, darkest perfumes I have. Something a vampire would wear.

I’ve only discovered this fragrance after it’s been long discontinued and finally I’ve been lucky to find a 10 ml splash bottle. I had no expectations at all as the older discontinued fragrances tend to change drastically over time and I have zero idea of how this particular perfume used to smell upon release. But my god it is beautiful. It starts strong and pungent like the old-school perfumes with civeta in their base but in couple of minutes it develops into a slightly salty ambery sandalwood. I don’t detect much of the fruity or floral notes in there but it’s so captivating. It smells of an incredibly sexy sweaty warmed up human skin. It’s both sexy and reassuring. I wish one day I’ll be able to find a better preserved version of this perfume so I can experience it in all its complexity. And both the bottle and the packaging deserve their own standing ovation. ‘Pierce my heart again...’

I always thought I could buy any creation of Jacques Cavallier in dark but when I saw Kingdon reviews and notes description, a warning light came on :-) People seem to have so mixed feeelings about it! I should have had more faith in Mr Cavallier as Kingdom is an OHHH SO DARK & SEXY fragrance! I must say it is definitely for brave ladies, self confident and aware of their sex appeal! Kingdom is rich, intoxicating, with a little green note lingering in the background of an oriental floral powerful sillage! Kingdom, in my opinion, may also appeal the masculine part of our population :-) as it is designed to be strong and dark, it is nearly on the borderline between feminine and masculine worlds :-) Gosh, I am so wearing it this winter! I wouldn't recommend wearing at hot weather unless your mother in law is coming with a visit :-) Brilliant creation! Hats off for Mr Cavallier!

The EDT - The red bottle fits in your open hand and it seems to be a grenade, or, perhaps a giant jewel-something that feels good weighing- and resting in your palm at the same time. The florals bursts forth-a rapturous and fantastic concoction- a tiny touch of citrus on the surface- encouraging the lush florals to mix, mingle, at the same time providing a smart, nuance of contrast! A light but quizzical sensation of musk and gourmand notes develop with the vanilla , making the fragrance last softly close to the skin. The fragrance is strong of character, wit, and beauty. As a true Eau De Toilette-soft, and light; but for all the fragrance ́s strengths- never overpowering. I love this fragrance for the combination of all the differing elements and styles, sultry sexiness and fairy tale femininity- all in one very gorgeous ruby glass bottle.

This is pretty unique. Unlike others, I had no issues with the opening. It was refreshing and herbal. Then I got a bit of tartness and spice. I've never experienced anything quite like this. Perhaps it is the celery that gives it such an usual scent. Someone mentioned cumin, although that's not listed perhaps that may be it too. Once it settles more I get the more rounded citrus with an earthy (patchouli?) element. Kingdom is so hard to pinpoint! It's citrusy but not sweet, it's tangy but not bitter, it's fresh but in a green way without being grassy, it's has depth but no woods, it's got a dark edge while still having the pristine floral. It's really quite perplexing!! Which of course just adds to the whole mystique. Definitely not for the faint of heart! Dark, daring and audacious!!

You can tell that the same nose which created Midnight Poison also created this masterpiece. However, Kingdom is more of a nuanced story which unfolds over time. To me, it is the celery seeds that bring out the sexiness of the scent. That with the musk should create something which leans more masculine- almost into aftershave territory, but it avoids this and remains uniquely feminine. Perhaps it is the florals and the citrus which keep us in that land. There is something Old Hollywood in it's formulation with the feminine muskiness while at the same time being of it's time and ahead of it's time. Perhaps there are no boxes which this scent fits into, and that is why it is one of favorites.

I've tested the EdT right alongside the EdP and there's definitely cumin in here that's not listed above. It's much more apparent in the EdP than EdT. In fact, I can't really detect it much at all it in the edt but it's a major player in the EdP. The play on cumin with oakmoss in this EdP reminds me a lot of Rochas Femme but leaner and drier. Rochas is sweeter, buttery and chewy but here it is dry, dusty, and brittle, maybe even a bit bitter. Rochas is the humid jungle. Kingdom is the arid desert. The rhubarb is very prominent in the top of the EdP but once it dries, all I get is cumin and oakmoss. The EdT however, is sweeter, stays fruitier for longer, and is much easier to wear. ❤

Strong, dirty and quite masculine. This is not your average designer name cash-in perfume. It's very grown up, and not at all what I was expecting. I'm quite tempted to find myself a bottle of this for special occasions. The celery and rhubarb are the main notes for me. It's sharp on my skin, with almost no warmth to it. All the scents seem to clash together wonderfully; sometimes this is almost peppery. Great lasting power and sillage too. Boyfriend says it smells like a man's fragrance, but I think his sense of smell has been permanently damaged by Flowerbomb. Edit: The more I wear this the more I love it. If anyone has a bottle of this up for grabs, please let me know.

What a piece of art! I wanted to try this intriging perfume for such a long time, reading all the reviews and interesting myself more & more with this Mysterious perfume... Well, now i got a chance to sniff it finally!!! And i have to say: it's not masculine like a lot of the reviews here say, it's not that dark either..for me it's more about sex appeal and hedonism! it's very uniqe, a little bit sweet, a little woody, a little warm... it's a little bit from everything you can imagine. And it's true what they say: you're either going to adore it, or you're going to hate it! I haven't decided yet, but it's Definitely a "must to try " for every confident woman!

I love this warm, dry, dusty, spicy scent. It's perfect for fall. I like that Kingdom isn't balmy or humid, as many fall-friendly scents tend to be. For me, there's also a nostalgia element with this fume. It smells exactly like an old shimmer lotion from Victoria's Secret that I used to use on special occasions in the 1990s, and, as noted by others, it is a close cousin to Dune--another scent I wore regularly in my 20s. Sidenote: What happened to the cumin in the notes? What is now listed as celery seed used to be cumin. I'm confused. I'll have to see if I can find original source notes listings for this fragrance.

The EdP - a previous reviewer in this thread said something about BO - meaning "body odor" or "sweat". I identify this in the composition-but-it is Only the cumin coming on strong. The first two sprays the cumin was too heavy, too pronounced. After a few uses the perfume became more enjoyable, I think it just needed to be sprayed a couple times and "mixed up" maybe. My husband notes the Jasmine strongly when he wears it. It is not as long lasting as I would expect from an EDP, maybe my bottle was old...I love the stuff, anyway ! Sultry, Spicey, a tone of Woody and a mist of Smokey along with floral too!!

I really like the opening - quite soft to what I had expected. To me it smells green and fresh. I softens more and more and is very close to the skin - the flowers are a little bit more noticeable now. To me this is a lovely and supersoft perfume - I find it strange that people describes it as bold, weird, sexy - as I perceives it as the total opposite. Maybe it's all down to personal body chemistry. Smelling it on my wrist right now and it feels like floating on clouds. A great bottledesign even if I don*t think it reflects the character of the perfume - but that is surely a tricky thing to accomplish.

My mom got Kingdom as a gift, and being fond of very sweet and strong perfumes (the exactly opposite of me), she gave me her bottle. I must say that it wasn't love at first sniff, it seemed quite masculine to me. But after a few minutes, the fragrance turned out so mysterious, spicy and dark that I fell in love. This is a sexy and feminine fragrance, but not in a obvious way. This is not the femme fatale in her little black dress, with perfect features and a sweet smell. The woman who wears this perfume is unique and not afraid of what people gonna think about her. She owns her world, her kingdom.

My first sniff :" Oh no, - too vulgar !" My second thought: " Golly, give him a chance. You might like him." He is intriguing and inviting, warm and sensuous, piquant and rather addictive. He is so enveloped in me now, and so welcome. I'm afraid, I'm falling in love ... It's a trap...."Is sex dirty? Only if it's done right!" My sin, my pleasure, my delight! At first there is a metallic smell to it in the top notes that bothers me, but I decided to wait for it to dry down. The mid notes were nice because it's what I hoped Shalimar would smell like on me as that one turns so spicy but this one is just the right amount. The base notes though, my goodness... I have no words to explain how beautiful this smells. I sprayed it on at the beginning of a movie and by the end I was too distracted by the wonderful smell of my wrists. Only problem is it stays VERY close to the skin.

I love this. It was my signature scent for a while. Now I'm trying not to use it too much since it's discontinued and bottles on e-bay are extortionately priced. Kingdom is sensual, spicy and bold. In my mind unique. It's not a nauseatingly sweet or a (mock) cheerful fruity/floral fragrance. Neither is it an old fashioned lady fragrance. It's very modern, but deliciously sensual, feminine and strong. Just can't understand how this was discontinued. Also baffled about how Luca Turin didn't give this more stars..

This is by far my favourite fragrance ever. Is not about it's notes only but the fact that has an intense effect in my mood. The first spray can hold you back, but as soon as it dries it becomes like a warm blanket on a nude body. I bought it when it came out and I loved it, it is so intense, sexy and bold. Like a tigress in dressed in black. I found one online last autumn and could not resist to buy it although the price was exorbitant... Is now finished again, and I am looking again to get my hands on it.

Had it and lost it during house moving. Will never forgive myself! It's an inique scent. Bought it on sale not expecting much of it. Turned out I loved it. I's warm and spicy without being overwelming. I found it very comforting. But maybe it's because I have to miss it since it's discontinued right after I bought it. The bottle was a jewel on its own. A masterpiece! Alexander McQueen's creativity & brilliance has always fascinated me & this mysterious fragrance did not let me down.It's definitely not what I was expecting but I should know to expect the unexpected from McQueen. An androgynous juice! It's dense,crisp,dreamy,floral & spicy. It soothes the senses with enough punch to make a statement. I didn't find it overly dark. Not in a lost in the woods at midnight dark but rather an eyes shut welcoming darkness.

O.M.G. I am sooo taken by this perfume! I got m bottle today and am sooo grateful to have it! This is my type of scent all around the board. Very spicy, sensual, sexy, even animalistic! It makes me want to pounce like a purring, dangerous, grown up sex kitten. Something in this reminds me of Boudoir which drives my fiance wild. This is easily my new signature scent!!! I must have this always going forward. Alexander Mcqueen may you rest in peace, you were a genius.

Kingdom is the best thing that has ever happened to me perfume-wise. It totally reprogrammed my perfume experience and I can't ever go back after trying this strong but tender, powdery but sharp scent. I am infatuated and have been crying my soul out since it was discontinued. Nothing has ever come close. One me, it was pure eroticism, bit never too harsh for daytime. It was ever-lingering, but not bothering. All I ever wanted from a perfume and now it's gone.

I got so very, very lucky to buy an entire bottle of Kingdom several years ago. I blind-bought it, because I had read much about it and was curious to try it. The bottle was leaking, but who gives a damn. I would have bought it too, had it come in a rusty bucket. One of the most exciting scents that I own. I adore this. It is so carnal and so weird it's almost obscene. Even more weirdly, I mean this as a compliment. Ah, Kingdom does screw with my head.

Celery and musk at the opening. It smells special and unique, not loud (I expected it to have a huge sillage but it didn't happen) and quite linear on my skin. Nonetheless, sophisticated and unusual (I mean original) scent for sure. Exceptional, but still worth trying and testing before you buy. Unforgettable scent. I am pretty sure you have never smelled anything like this. P. S. As the years go by there is still nothing like this.

I don't remember what I traded this for but in hindsight there's no way it was worth it. I had found a boxed, unused bottle of this at a thrift store of all places for $50, used it a few times, loved it, then wound up swapping it for something or other that I wanted and seemed like a good deal at the time. Need to get this back so bad. An objective masterpiece like makinmagic1 said a few reviews back.

The drydown of this is mythical. 5 days after application I can still smell it /distinctly/ on my pullover. Worth every bit of what it goes for nowadays. My only concern is that this stuff is so erotic smelling that finding an appropriate situation to wear it in is difficult, especially when the late drydown is where it really really shines.

Voluptuous, over the top, rolling in the sheets sexy. I love this perfume and felt like a god-damn bomb shell when I dared to wear it. I guess I could talk about the notes; cumin, patchouli, sweet oranges.... but this perfume was a whole hedonistic mood, set loose at the moment of application. Like Pandora’s box. Marvelous.

Colder days are here so I took out Kingdom and wore it today. Years later it still amazes me with its wild mixture of smells, I always find Kingdom a bit unruly and uncivilized (if a perfume can be described this way) and I enjoy it. A strange beauty . A complete, well-done job from opening to drydown.

Imagine Joaquín Cortés dancing Flamenco shirtless for two hours straight, all sweaty, hair soaking wet, dressed in a brand new leather pants, on a summer night by a fire...Than he takes you home! 😄 THE sexiest, dirtiest, masterpiece ever created! This is Kingdom!

Most gorgeous smell of all !! Kingdom rules ! At times I've tryed to wear others and on many occasions my friends have commented ( where is your gorgeous smell ) I don't like this new one ! Please go back to Kingdom! Maybe it doesnt suit others but it suits ME!

'Tis the month and time of year I can bring this out and wear it to death - I love this scent during the fall/winter months as it envelopes me with a pheremone laced spicy sweet warmth and serves as a 'come hither' scent to those around me.

Weird , addictive and exotic. That’s how this fragrance is . Very unisex. Just love it! The mint with the rhubarb along with ginger ensues a lovely composition. Heavy at first spray but it settles down as it develops its fresh-dark facet.

After it settles, on my skin, it reminds me of Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black. As if Nirvana Black & Musc Ravageur made a baby if that makes any sense?! I like warm spicy scents and this one is lovely after the drydown.

This is my absolute favorite perfume!! I'm choked that is discontinued!! Could someone please tell me of some perfumes that are like this? I love the passionate and animalistic dirty-ness of it!

Jackson Spines: Try the EdT, it smells like the original EdP minus the cumin, which you obviously hate. I personally love cumin and find the EdT to be boring without... but to each their own. :)

I read some reviews of this fragrance and was so intriged, I purchased a bottle (3,4 oz/100ml) without ever smelling it, and furtunitly on my skin it works great!! I love this one.

I loved it - it was hardly to get in my country and I was so proud of having it. Can you still buy it - I have not seen it for ages! Miss it...and also Alexander McQueen himself.

My favorite. Magical, dark, and mysterious. Does anyone know of an other perfume that smells similar or gives the same feeling? I have yet to find anything even close to it.
