Butterfly

Very addictive and different!!! Nothing like it in my collection!!! It's in the same family as Blanche Bête, but like a 3rd cousin. The Tuberose is beautiful in this gem! You most definitely have to like cardamon and pink pepper. They both take a backseat after about 10 minutes. I would definitely repurchase it when it's gone. Butterfly and Blanche Bete are the UNICORNS of my collection.🦄🤗🩷 ***Very surprised that there is no sandalwood in this fragrance. Also puts me in the mind of a very wearable more feminine leaning Santal 33 which I do not like.✨️

I'm very surprised at how people have been rating so negatively. I personally found this is very similar to Love Delight by Amourage, however this Butterfly doesn't have terrible headachey Baccarat Rouge 540 vibe. This is more milky, sweeter (especially in the end), and musky (but, not scratchy) with some spicy accord (cardamom/pink peppers) & freshness (pear). It's too pricey, however, it's definitely gorgeous fragrance IMO. P.S. The longevity is good but, not sure about silage...it's soft.

Absolutely stunning! By far, the best of all the fragrances in the luxury Art Nouvea collection. Waiting anxiously to get my hands on a bottle after trying this.

This is a unique fragrance. Reminds me of Love Delight most but still not that close. I want a bottle.

Probably the one I like least from this collection. It opened up with pink pepper, light pear and some musk. And that was about it for two sprays on my skin. On clothing I had some additional neroli. The musk was a bit on the staley creamy type which I only normally get with mimosa musk combo. The overall dry down was the musk with slight sweetness and woodiness. It’s an okay one for me. Edit. The end of the dry down was a beautiful sandalwood which was beautiful enough for me to upped it to a like.

For me, this is an utterly and completely feminine fragrance. Some kind of vegetal milk, green young tuberose. Yes, it does open with a slightly pickle-like sandalwood note, which is not the most pleasant, but over time it fades, and the feeling that follows while wearing this fragrance is truly airy, and feather-light. Combination of cardamom, bergamot and pear is pleasant. After wearing Ormonde Jayne’s Sybarit for months, I can’t really detect any pepperiness here :P

First impression review. Opens with something sharp and green, a freshly cut stem. Quickly dissipates in the drydown to a scent very reminiscent of Montblanc Signature to me; a light musky, slightly sweet floral but greener than Signature. I love signature but it doesn't last at all, hopefully Butterfly will last longer in a full wear. Bottle and packaging are beautiful. I'll probably keep this ridiculously overpriced bottle in my collection if it passes the wear test.

It is very elegant and feminine fragrance. This lightly reminds me of oriana and love don`t be shy BUT this is just first impression. Personally I really like it. It has good projection and longevity for a fresh fragrance. It starts with fresh bergamot and sweet juicy 🍐 Then white florals like tuberose and neroli are sweet but still fresh and the musc is making everything soft and rounded.

a very soft aromatic spicy musk, and an incredibly relaxing fragrance. it doesn't project too much which is a shame... and it's quite a light and airy scent bubble. obviously the bottle is a pure work of art and is perfect for bottle collecting! i would recommend getting it for a discount.

With the ingredients listed, it’s hard to imagine a fresh scent but there it is! It is not loud but it is there. Feels like a light, very thin cachemire cardigan that you only put on in spring/summer. A true ‘quiet luxury’ perfume. I like it!

The bottle is an art piece, the juice inside is another story, at least for me. I don't think it worked with my body chemistry at all. Not a safe blind buy. Smells different on paper blotter in comparison to skin, so try it on skin before you commit. Unisex. This is a very green, vegetal scent, slightly spicy and powdery. Sandalwood and pepper are the most prominent notes to my nose. I was hoping for something a hint more sweet and creamy. Especially since some reviews mention Blanche Bette which I love. Sandalwood here is similar to the one in Santal 33, which is not bad but also not too appealing to my nose. Mild dill/ pickle smell that gets grounded by dusty tuberose. I can't smell any pear in this, neither any hazelnut. Performance is ok, lasts about 6 hours on my skin. It is unique, so that might be why people compare this to Blanche Bette. Although to me, those smell different. BB is more feminine and creamy, lactonic and sweet; Butterfly leans masculine and is not as creamy. It also doesn't smell like Montblanc Signature or any of the Amouage fragrances that it gets compared to. I will test it more in the warmer months with a hope that it gets better with time and weather. Any recommendations on layering would be appreciated.

07/24 It’s okay. Soft and powdery with a hint of green and pepper. Enjoyable, but reminds me of a decade old makeup powder at first. After a few minutes it settles into a musk. Like a clean, heavy blanket.

Unfortunately, it smells like boiled dill to me, I don’t get ANYTHING from the pyramid, maybe just the pepper. It smells like vegetable soup with some bay leaves, black pepper, parsley and mainly DILL. It was a blind buy as I’m a crazy fan of laconic fragrances, but this one smells nothing like I would’ve imagined based on the notes listed. Maybe it will macerate and become a completely different scent but for now I hate it. Not a safe blind buy for sure.

It smells like pickle-flavored croutons. I’d rather eat that childhood junk food than buy this scent.

This fragrance opens in a very curious way: it’s spicy, slightly sweet, and has something almost vegetal about it; someone described it below. Imagine walking into a supermarket, picking up fresh lettuce that’s just been watered — that wet-green crispness mixed with a light citrus touch of bergamot, and perhaps some very subtle pear. That’s the kind of impression the opening gives on the vegetable side. It’s not my favorite part of the fragrance, but I do not mind the vegetable side as I like green fragance. It reminded me a bit of Risveleum from Orto Parisi, only on the vegetal side. Running through this opening is a subtle spice, refined and high-quality, which blends nicely with a hazelnut note. The hazelnut is there but not loud, but it adds a nutty sweetness that balances the sharper edges of the citrus and greens. As the minutes pass, the fragrance starts to transition, softening into something creamier, milky and more floral with the neroli in the background. Not a Neroli prominent fragrance though. Here’s where it becomes truly interesting for me. it develops a smooth, almost milky texture that makes me think of sandalwood. Strangely, sandalwood isn’t listed in the official notes — but my nose insists it’s there. It has that creamy milky vanillin, woody, ambery slightly dry elegance that screams sandalwood of hight quality. In fact, the dry-down reminds me very much of Santal 33, and it has been mentioned here — except this feels more feminine, more polished, and less abrasive. Butterfly is rounder, more floral, and with a softer sensuality. Overall, it’s a fragrance that starts unusual — maybe even challenging with its green-spicy opening — but rewards patience with a creamy, elegant dry-down that feels both familiar and interesting at the same time.

I’m not really sure how to describe this one so bear with me lol. I liked parts of it but disliked other parts. I did not enjoy the opening but I did enjoy the dry down, it became creamier in the dry down and it was nice but not what I was hoping or looking for. The mix of notes gives off an interesting scent in the opening, I can’t explain it sorry, you’ll just have to smell for yourself and try to decipher. I sold my pretty bottle sadly but I give this fragrance kudos for being unique. I think a lot of people will enjoy it still but a lot will dislike it as well. I heard one reviewer describe the scent as vegetal and yeah, it’s a little on green side, more so in the opening and perhaps that’s why I don’t enjoy it much. I wish the dry down was the whole fragrance, I wanted it to be super creamy the whole way through. Definitely not blind buy safe imo. Performance is moderate.

This opens up aromatic with some pepperiness, then you get white florals and fluffy vanilla followed by a lactonic dry down. This is clearly elegant, of good quality and well blended. But after a wear test the dry down is very lactonic reminding me of Paris corner lactea divina & blanch bete. The lactonic notes are too heady for me. IG/Tiktok: @wilddew_vibes

The notes sound like this will be amazing and that bottle looks stunning. It’s currently being sold at Jovoy on pre-sale so I went ahead and bought a bottle. Will update with a real review once I receive it. 🦋

On paper: Buttery raspberries, sandalwood, lychee, clean musk and soft pink floral tones. On skin: Acidic, dry redcurrant, violet, camphor, galbanum. Very airy still. Like two completely different scents.
