Imperial Peacock

I received this in the mail today and my excitement was over the roof. The packaging and presentation is so luxurious and goregeous. I’ve never seen a prettier perfume bottle😍🦚 Anyways now for the scent, wow wow wow! I’m in love with it. It’s a very sweet oriental gourmand. It’s thick and syrupy but airy at the same time. I will break the ice here by saying that I actually don’t get baccarat vibes from this. Yes it’s sugary and airy but it’s really unique. The sugary and airy quality are the only similarities, and otherwise this is different and much more gourmand. At first spritz, you get a really sweet and sugary cinnamon with almond and vanilla. It actually smells like a sugary pastry with cinnamon sugar ontop. Once it dries down you will start to smell alot of tonka and vanilla and a nice sweet powderiness. Although it is very thick and edible, the rhubarb comes along and keeps it from becoming too overwhelming. it also has a nice spiced touch to it, so addictive! The sugar in this is very airy and uplifting and the vanilla stays prominent throughout the entire wear which is a huge bonus for me. 🍦🧁🤎 Overall, if you love sugary gourmands then you can’t go wrong with this one. If I had to compare this to something, I would say a much creamier and sweeter and more sugary lattafa’s khamrah. Yes the price tag is really high but the sillage and longevity is monstrous I could smell it ALL day long. Ps. The notes on fragrantica are not 100% accurate. These are the correct notes: Almond, Rhubarb, Heliotrope, Tonka Bean, Cinnamon, Black Vanilla, Musk, Sugar Note, Balsamic Note.

This fragrance does not require a long introduction. Imperial Peacock is hands-down the best sweet fragrance currently on the market. And this is coming from someone who doesn't particularly go for fragrances like that. This is the only fragrance I am going to wear this entire season. Yes it is expensive. Yes it is worth it. I wish I tested this before I purchased Love Delight from Amouage because this smell is exactly what I wanted Love Delight to be. They are the same price! It's so frustrating because $400 is quite a lot of money to me. There is no way I can afford both. Please take my suggestion and purchase Imperial Peacock. You will not regret it.

This is the epitome of “Old Money”, its refined, sweet, dense but airy. I definitely get the Angels Share comparison, and The BR540 sweetness. This scent lasts all day on my skin, starts out with a blast of Rhubarb/Vanilla/Cinnamon combination. Rhubarb lasts about 5-10 mins and it stays sugary vanilla cinnamon and musk the remainder of the day. Signature scent worthy for sure!

STUNNING FRAGRANCE luckily I don’t get the Heinz smell 🙌🏼 Scent 9.5/10 Longevity 10/10 Silage 9/10 Compliments every single time I wear it. One night I didn’t wear cream 🙈 and the fragrance still stuck to me for 10 hours + even after I washed my hands multiple times. Clothes lasted weeks even after washing. Purchased my fragrance from Harrods

to me, this smells like the yummiest creamiest apple pie with a sprinkle of cinnamon and vanilla icing. it’s so lush. I love wearing it with my other gourmand fragrances and it also does well on its own. in my top 10. lasting power could be better for the price tbh but I don’t mind it since I tend to layer it with stronger fragrances.

frankly i wanna hate it for its price but damn.... I have a small sample of this and its so ridiculously addictive. It's not overpowering at all infact its quite light and fruity but has an underlying deep smoky tonka base. I say this as a positive thing but it reminds me of like opening a box of lush bathbombs.

Gorgeous ! Love this ! It has a smokiness , but I don’t know what note that is. I don’t get a strong rhubarb . Some people say this smells like BR540 but I can’t compare because I haven’t smelt the real thing . But I love the sweetness in this. Not cloying .. well balanced .

I got a sample of this and it was love at first sniff. First thing I did was see how much it will cost me to get it from Jovoy to Australia. The ingredient list does not do it any justice, they left off liquid magic!

I love this scent. The spicy sweetness, a little dry at first. As the scent develops the tart rhubarb comes to the front.

Imagine baccarat rouge but with rhubarb and a touch of angels share

This one is lovely delicious, sweet and addictive!

I have only used this from a sample, but I must say it is just too overhyped and way too overpriced. The bottle is stunning and the whole presentation is very nice. But the juice is just too similar to Baccarat Rouge 540 for its own good. To be fair it is a lighter version of Baccarat Rouge 540. Like a little sister that is a bit more shy and innocent. The only thing that differs really is the use of saffron in BR540 which makes that more potent and more rich and usable all throughout day to night. In imperial peakock there is instead a slight touch of rhubarb and heliotrope at the top of Imperial Peakock which makes it even more airy compared to its big sister... imperial Peackock is to me a daytime scent which is lovely and mostly a sweet and airy form of sugary vanilla with that slight rhubarb note on top that fades like most citrus leaning notes do leaving behind a light sugary vanilla with no earthy ness or any strong bottom really. It is sweet cinnamon and vanilla but the airy kind like if sprinkled like powdered sugar on the skin. I do not detect any woody notes and the almond in here pretty much only enhances the sweetness and the sugary feel of the light synthetic bakery kind of vanilla essence. Don’t get me wrong this is a very nice light and airy vanilla scent. But not very creative or impressive in any way but more ordinary and innocent if that makes sense. The dry down is mostly a whisper of sweet airy sugared vanilla with a touch of cinnamon. Lovely I know, but there are so many easy grabs and dupes for that scent profile... If you have baccarat rouge 540 and own any form or citrusy fruity scent you can dupe this yourself and make it a much stronger iteration compared to the softer whisper of Imperial peacock. If you belong to the people who find baccarat rouge to be weak, then do not get sucked into the hype around this or you will be very disappointed. (If you can hold yourself your wallet will also thank you for it...) 😅. If however you think baccarat rouge 540 is too bold and strong but you like the scent profile but want it to be just a little lighter - then imperial peakock might be it for you. On me I get about 4-6 hours of wear where most of it will be with a light silage closer to my skin. It projects moderately in the beginning. But will not last all day on me. (And on me most scents lasts very long...). Safe for fragrance sensitive environments and does not stick out. But be prepared also for questions wondering if you are wearing br540... For me this is insanely overpriced and even if the bottle is stunning you will first of all not need 125 ml of this fragrance unless it’s the best thing you have ever smelled and it will be the only fragrance you will ever use. 370 € is a lot for this. And it is not like the bottle is pure crystal that will not cost more 100 euros to make...more likely 10 €...😎 And the juice is not that extraordinary to warrant such a price which means you will pay a lot for a fancy looking bottle in the end... ❣️

Due to all the hype around this fragrance, when I first got this sample, I was cautiously excited to try it out... and was disappointed when all I got was a skin scent. A lovely skin scent, mind you, but one that was barely there after maybe ten minutes. As someone who lives in an area with peacocks, I suppose it lived up to its namesake; beautiful, but flighty. The sample was thus condemned to my aftershave pile. This may be blasphemous to some, but when I don't deem a sample as something I'd normally bother wearing, I tend to use it as an aftershave spray to finish it up. And it was while trying this with Imperial Peacock that I finally seemed to have cracked the code. My neck is usually not one of those pulse points that I tend to gravitate towards, but when I tried it with Imperial Peacock after shaving, it just seemed to BLOOM. Or, perhaps in this case, unfurl its tail feathers :P Anyway, for once, I could actually smell the thing- and it wasn't just me! Later that evening, one of my family members was standing a good five feet away from me and complemented the smell. And I agree, it smells heavenly! On me, it is the almond who takes center stage. I've tried a few other almond scents, but I don't think I have found any that have come to rival Imperial Peacock. I'm honestly surprised to say that while I once condemned it to my aftershave pile, I'm now considering buying a full bottle.

Testing a 5 ml decant of this today. Honestly, I find it underwhelming and MASSIVELY overpriced. It wears light and has a grainy texture, probably due to tonka bean and cinnamon. It's primarily a vanilla perfume, with a slightly nutty accent. I don't detect any rhubarb or much heliotrope. It's not sufficiently thick or delicious to be a proper gourmand (what sticky???). I don't find it anywhere close to Angels' Share or Oajan precisely bc of that. I own BR540, and I don't see the similarity. IMO, this scent is its own rank of unremarkable ordinariness. I'd buy this if it's priced like the Alexandre J's designer range. It's worth $100-150. Throw in an extra $20 for the bottle. $310-390 is just astronomical. They really should make a discovery set widely available. Influencers' hype is just wildly unreliable when it comes to European fragrances that you can't readily test.

When I first tried this back in December 2024, I didn’t care for it. All I was getting was the balsamic notes. I had to let this sit for a few months and I tried it again today and it smells lovely. I’m going to layer it with Love Delight for a little more sweetness.

I is a beautiful fragrance perfect composition. Sweet, airy, smooth, and very easy to wear a creamy, refined almond and cinnamon gourmand It is not heavy, not cloying, and feels elegant on the skin. it is also Versatile for formal and evening wear.

I get Angels share vives from this fragrance, I’m not saying it’s a dupe but there is definitely a vibe. I get the cinnamon and tonka but there’s a lot of vanilla. It’s actually a beautiful scent and I quite enjoy it. It definitely projects!

This is a hybryd of BR540 and Angel's Share or rather Khamrah cause it lacks the boozy vibe. Very likeable, but totally redundant. Criminally overpriced.

The initial application of Imperial Peacock is unfortunately marred by a sharp, pronounced alcohol burst. Once this volatile opening dissipates, the fragrance settles into decidedly familiar territory: a simplistic, overtly sweet almond accord that lacks distinction. This is a remarkably intimate wear; its sillage is minimal and it registers primarily as a gentle skin scent. The auxiliary notes of cinnamon, sugar, tonka bean, and vanilla are subdued, offering mere whispers behind the central almond theme and failing to provide the complexity needed to transcend the generic, though it successfully avoids the clichéd "holiday candle" comparison. For a scent that suggests grandeur, the performance is disappointingly timid and weak. Given the market, there are certainly more robust and better-value alternatives available in this sweet, feminine profile.

I mean, it’s an alright fragrance that is spicy (mostly unsweetened cinnamon), slightly boozy, a bit woody but there is something that bothers me in it...a certain bitterness...maybe from the almond? It’s certainly close to Angels Share by Kilian but Angels Share goes A L L the way into spicy/boozy territory whereas Imperial Peacock only timidly tries to...of course, this is only just what my nose detects. This is completely subjective and by no means what others would smell. That bottle though!!!😳😍😳such beauty!!! Anyhoo, personally I’ll stick with Angels Share. It’s more unabashedly joyful and b o o z y 🥃🥃🥃✨✨✨

Sugary sweet scent with easy detectible tonka bean note and maltol (burnt sugar type of note. It’s like a mix of all sweet things you can imagine, plus, a touch of spiciness:) It’s nice, but a bit too much for my taste. I prefer Oriental Enigma from this collection. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

I might be anosmic to it (I cannot smell BR540, and I guess this is similar) but to me this is just a mediocre, unremarkable, watered down vanilla gourmand. I smell a weird minty note in the opening and that is the extent of interesting things happening here for me. Moving on...

I see I’m not the only one who got Baccarat Rouge from this. I enjoyed the tart rhubarb in the opening. But 15 minutes later this is all sugar and musks and 90% similar to BR 540. I wouldn’t class this as a vanilla fragrance in the way I expected.

Love the opening fizzy, sparkling rhubarb. Transforms into those upvotes. Nothing to write home about.

Historically I’m not fond of a rhubarb note, so the idea of it being the primary note in a fragrance was off putting. I used to gravitate towards this fragrance on occasion, though my doing so was more psychological than anything else lmao. At this point, my desire to wear it has disappeared completely and as much as the bottle has led me to gaslight myself, I don’t like this fragrance at all, I love the bottle and the concept. The concept behind this fragrance is what initially drew me in, but it does features quite a few of my favorite notes- almond, heliotrope, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar- infused with warmth from the tonka bean. The blend is perfect... but then there’s something sharp. I wish the note chosen to covey the uniqueness/spiciness of the peacock had been something other than rhubarb. Here, it serves as the backbone, adding a metallic quality that slices through the softer smoother notes like a rusty sword. There’s also something that smells sour, I suspect that it’s AMBERWOOD/AMBROXAN, notes which I loathe with passion, even more than rhubarb. Those notes are not listed on any websites or the box, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were present, as they are notoriously omitted from fragrance descriptions. Sadly, the sourness reminds me of a perfume that a I truly hate: BR540 😔 Some days, this perfume smells to me like spraying perfume on a penny. It’s a shiny new penny, but a penny nonetheless. While the fragrance consistently maintains its flamboyance, the flamboyance exhibited here is brash rather than elegant. To me the perfume leans distinctly masculine (subjective) and I was entirely disappointed by its modern character, it doesn’t evoke the spirit of Art Nouveau at all. There was no amberwood or ambroxan during the Art Nouveau era lmao. The scent does smell ‘expensive’, but in a very contemporary way, something I tend to shy away from in personal fragrance. I’m drawn to skin scents that are mor lighthearted, whimsical, or vintage in feel and I never purchase a full bottle without being entirely smitten. I made an unabashed exception for this one because of the bottle. And ironically, when I had this fragrance, it received more compliments than most perfumes I wear. It’s also the strongest perfume I ever had. So go figure 😆 I got a small bottle on eBay and to eBay it returned. Admittedly, my love of birds may make me a bit partial, but this bottle is probably prettiest perfume bottle I’ve ever seen, which is clearly meant to be the main selling point of the fragrance. Every website I’ve visited including that of the perfumer, emphasizes over and over the beauty and opulence of the bottle, and rightfully so. Seriously, it IS a work of art (。♡‿♡。) To put it simply, this is being marketed as a functional art piece, and that should be taken into consideration before purchase. The perfume itself is NOT worth $400 imo, this type of scent profile is super common/popular right now and can be achieved with other niche or designer fragrances that are not as pricey.

I was enormously excited to try Imperial Peacock given its positive reviews, the notes, which sound incredibly appealing, and, rather vainly i will admit, the beauty of its bottle and the allure of its extortionate pricing. Having recently sampled it I am gravely disappointed. This £285 (presently at Harrods) fragrance smells to me almost exactly like any number of cheap spray on deodorants, and immediately brought back memories of old school days in the sports hall changing rooms, the air thick and cloying with a blend of chemicals that create an indiscernible, fresh yet sickly scent with no specific note or trait to comment on positively. It possesses a DNA referred to often by others as that of Baccarat Rouge (which i have never directly sampled but undoubtably have smelt at some point somewhere), that to me is that same disingenuous, fresh yet sickly blend that harkens back to aforementioned times. It has been suggested to me that perhaps I simply do not get on well with metallic almond notes, however in other fragrances I have found joy in similar compositions, both leaning sharp and metallic, but also sweet and marzipan like. Likewise the rhubarb which I was expecting to love, whether sweet or sharp, disappears for me into this metallic chemical smell and becomes completely indistinguishable within seconds of spraying. There are plenty of fragrances, especially in the metallic and sharp variety that are designed to blend together and form a distinct scent or DNA. One with such an effect that I adore is Ganymede, which I find incredibly addicting due to its allusive and explorable nature. Imperial Peacock on its surface appears as a fragrance such as this, to be dived into and explored, picked apart with joy and wonder, yet I am finding it impossible to break through the sharp and chemical like wall of indistinguishable traits, to experience what it is allegedly offering. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement, and having come back to it after an initial sampling, I've unfortunately found little change in the way it smells. Perhaps, with more time, I will open up to what it is attempting to do more, however as it stands, this fragrance does little for me at all.

Interesting. There’s this high yet flat spicy tone that kind of stops everything else when I inhale. It’s very much at the forefront, I thought it was pine needles or something of the sort, but I guess it’s cinnamon and balsamic? How peculiar, I haven’t smelled much like it. The way it’s headed almost reminds me of paper? Like brand new textbooks with that distinct paper with ink artificial smell. Slightly sweet woodiness in the back. Looking at the main accords I expected much sweeter, this is more of a wtf on my skin. Settles deeply resinous, salty, and woody. This is not for me, although the bottle is beautiful. I’m seeing this compared to Paradis Des Sens which is on my other hand and they’re nothing alike on my skin. Update: after more time drying down, I can kind of see on the surface how they may remind one of each other. But inhaling deeply here really brings out resin with a bit of stink, whereas in Paradis Des Sens you get straightforward sweet and tonka. I assume this has ambroxan, because I get dentist office more and more.

I want to bathe in this fragrance. It's so good. 5/2/25 Update: After loving the tester, I purchased a full bottle. I've never seen such beautiful packaging. Everything from the outside box, to the felt lining, to the beautiful silk-lined leather box is exquisite. The ornate handblown glass bottle, with a peacock on the front, looks like something that belongs in a museum. A presentation truly befitting of this special perfume. My new signature scent. 7/16/25 Update: I'm not sure what happened, but I'm now getting a strong bitterness that I just can't stomach. How did this go from a love to meh in so short a time?

Way over priced and way over hyped. This is a nice safe vanilla fragrance. Taking this into consideration along with the performance and price, save yourself $358.00 and purchase Cremo spice and black vanilla. It is $ 22.00 on Amazon and quite frankly out performs this by a very wide margin and is also a nice safe vanilla fragrance Not to step on anyone’s toes because I know people like them both but this and BR540 are all hat and no cattle, to me. If you want me to spend this kind of money on a fragrance it has to be big, interesting and preferably unique. This is none of those things.

I agree with most of comments; this is hybrid of angels share and BR540. In the beginning i can smell citrusy, cinnamon scent but dry down is full BR540. I only got decant, I do not think it’s worth the price. You can literally combine Angels share and BR540 and get this scent. You do not need even original as there are dupes everywhere e.g Zara.

This is an immediate no for me and one I’d class as a scrubber. There is a note in here that I smell in a lot of fragrances now, which I really which I could identify because it ruins so many scents for me. I don’t get angel share or apple pie from this. I can’t really explain what it smells like to be but it’s an instant dislike sadly.

It’s just an added bitter almond note different than Angel’s Share, but these fragrances are so similar that it made me regret the blind buy. Big time! Just another Angel’s Share in a different bottle. Try before you buy.

Imperial Peacock is a beautiful fragrance. Sweet, airy, smooth, and very easy to wear. It is not heavy, not cloying, and feels elegant on the skin. And honestly — people need to stop comparing it to everything. It is not Baccarat Rouge, and it is not Angel’s Share. Yes, there may be some similar ideas in the sweetness, but this is a different fragrance with its own identity. The Baccarat comparison especially makes no sense. Baccarat Rouge is a legendary perfume and costs much more. Saying “this is just another Baccarat” shows no understanding. This is not Baccarat — it is its own composition. Now about dupes. Stop comparing real fragrances to cheap copies. If you cannot afford it, that’s completely fine — save money, buy a smaller size, buy a decant. But do not compare a niche perfume, made with care, to mass-market copies from Amazon or Zara. It is like comparing Zara to haute couture. It is not the same level, not the same materials, not the same experience. Fragrance is not just smell — it is quality, balance, development, and presentation. The bottle itself here is a piece of art. Cheap copies may imitate notes, but they do not give you the same opening, the same depth, or the same overall feeling. Lately, many online reviews just repeat the same opinions without real understanding. It would be much more useful to focus on constructive and honest impressions instead of constant comparisons. Imperial Peacock is a well-made, elegant fragrance. If you enjoy sweet but light compositions, it is absolutely worth experiencing in its original form.

Starts a nice bright rhubarb and almond blend, a little powdery but very little, with bright notes, and a smooth backing, but screamwood is in the base and comes out as it dries. Gets shrill and more powdery as it goes. Scrubbed and now it smells like By The Fireplace. Tonka, wood, faint spice, musk and a tiny bit of scream, but not much. The cedar-y feel is nice, but anything I have to scrub off to make it smell okay to me is obviously not a keeper.

I want to try this from the description and the notes, but I'm torn. If you watched the review by Gabby Loves Perfumes, you'll know why. Although she was SUPER classy and definitely the better person in the situation (she still purchased it despite the promise of a bottle from Alexandre.J himself being refused by his marketing employee), I'm not sure I can be as forgiving as she was. I guess I'll never know what I'm missing here.

To my nose, Imperial Peacock smells VERY similar to Soda Snob, from Snif. While they open differently in the first minute or two, I’m not sure I could tell them apart on the dry down. IP has an almond top note, while SS has that deliciously realistic cola top note, but the body of these two fragrances are essentially the same. If you’re looking for an affordable alternative, Soda Snob would do very nicely.

Very strange to say, but whilst this is sweet, gentle and lovely on the nose, something in it reminds me of Heinz tomato soup. I'm not saying it's unpleasant: it's very nice - but before I went for a full bottle I would have to overcome this association. Possibly my nose was having a bad day so I will re-try (tested at Harrods). Other than that, it's an almond, milky gourmand - very pretty.

On paper: Lactonic notes, almond, pink pepper, vanilla, jasmine, amaretto, tonka and cinnamon. On skin: Slightly sour milk, campfire ashes, rose, tobacco, roasted almonds and tonka. The art noveau collection is easily their best, with refined, super soft and elegant scents. This is no exception. Leans feminine.

For the record, I own but do not wear BR540. I own but am decluttering Angel’s Share because it’s too sweet. I really enjoy Imperial Peacock. It’s fluffy and spicy, and while I get hints of the other fragrances mentioned, it stands alone and I will be happy to wear it.

Sticky sweet Marley black line blends like... This one is too sticky sweet blend with that honey vanilla milky notes that makes it quite similar to Marley black collection.

This struck me as very similar to Insulo by Jeroboam which I love and already own so didn’t feel the need to add this one too. Sweet , syrupy vanilla and white florals.

It doesn’t remind me at all to BR540, maybe because I smell it up close. But when I was wearing it, people asked if I’m wearing BR540 😤

Had a chance to try it, the first thing that popped to mind was Baccarat Rouge. Make of that what you will.

The first note is: vomit. Too much rhubarb, then it’s a tonka bomb. I don’t like it
