Majestic Nard

Baffled by the reviews here. To me this opens with a leathery, dusty saffron. It's dry and absolutely not too sweet, although it does head in that direction. It is super wearable and this very morning, as I was paying for my fuel, the cashier stopped me to write down the name of my perfume. I adore saffron. Done well, it's probably my favourite note. Dark leathery and woody scent softened with heady floral notes. It’s beautiful! I think it’s my second favorite from the whole. It’s bold. Smells both natural (dark woods and spices) and industrial (some rubbery notes). Lots of saffron for sure, but it’s less cold and metallic than usual. Very chic! Follow me on IG: @scent.guide

I don't know why but this is really good. I usually hate this DNA. Opens very saffron-y then the saffron blends with the incense and it gets a bit metallic and a bit animalic. Great fragrance. Longevity and projection are probably minimal, but seems to make for a great entry fragrance into the more heavy warm spicy fragrances. Smells like dirtier, watered down Crystal Saffron or a more complex one with less projection and longevity.

Alexandre J’s bottles are stunning, handmade glass bottles with such craft. I’m pretty sure that’s what gives this that price tag of around 400 USD. The scent itself smells like YSL Babycat from the private line. And the scent alone is amazing and unique. It’s a very heavy pepper like scent at the start slowly changing into an extremely woody scent with the unique Nard Himalayan note. It’s a very office/formal like wear. In the dry down you get a lot of leather and woodiness. It’s a really nice scent I truly do love the scent alone. Magestic Nard is a unisex scent which kind of leans a bit more masculine, great for the winter and fall seasons. Now my main complaints are the poor performance, especially at this price point. It lasts 5-6 hours, and barely projects. I have to spray a lottt of sprays maybe around 15 to project indoors. It’s wayyyyy overpriced, you’re better off getting the YSL babycat at the same price point. The only thing is the handmade glass bottle making it this costly. If you want a showpiece get this otherwise don’t waste your money. I don’t regret buying this, cause I love the scent and look off the bottle but at the same time I wish I purchased something better at the same price point, as there are soo many options at 400 dollars. I don’t recommend getting this fragrance just due to its extremely poor performance. Scent: 10 Projection: 2 Longevity: 5 Value: 1 Overall: 5

Oh gosh.....this is not wearable. How are people getting Rouge Smoking from this? This smells like some ancient medicinal herb from 10 centuries ago.

Sticky sweet saffron... Despite that I am sensing "Rosendo Mateu" stamp in this blend! i am sensing palo santo milky note in here with saffron, and some sandalwood with extra sugared honey. This is is quite sticky sweet, and as i said b4, this is quite overpriced, & a blend i have sniffed before. Edit (19 May 2026) Smokey incensy saffron... Bitter smokey saffrony with some patchouli and creamy sandalwood. nice.

On paper: Warm, leathery and peppery. Incense, rose, ambrette. On skin: Way dirtier. Intense cypriol, castoreum, amber, pitch black leather, bay leaf and crushed pepper.
