Zafeer Oud Vanille

I was buying stuff on FragranceNet and noticed Alexendre J Vanille Oud 8 ml was $10. I threw it in the mix and when I received it, I took one quick whiff and immediately thought it was a generic sweet vanilla and nothing more. The packaging was nice so I thought I’d gift it to someone eventually then tossed it in a drawer. Three months later I’m cleaning out said drawer, saw it, applied 4 good sprays and now I love it. Let me say I am not a vanilla, sweet or gourmand fan. Not in the least. Yet here the coconut, toffee and vanilla smells so incredibly tasty I was won over. The leather and oud are very very soft, and just offer enough presence to cut the sweetness in half. This is a rich, warm cozy scent that will make anyone come closer to get a better whiff. Maybe I was in the mood for something different, maybe because this is unlike anything else I own, or just maybe this is so well made I became a fan. Longevity and projection is very good and I would say this is comfortably unisex. Needless to say, I will get a full bottle when my 8ml is gone, which will be shortly. Don’t get hate for this one at all. Big thumbs up

When I wear this, it exudes an aura of pure beauty. It's an incredibly luxurious fragrance that wraps me in a magical mist of vanilla. I can detect hints of toffee, coconut and oud. A touch of fruity freshness (maybe the ylang-ylang that tricks me) serves to slightly temper the heavier notes. Words fail to capture just how incredibly exquisite this perfume is. Yet, if you bring your nose too close, or directly inhale it from your skin, the scent turns into an oud that is overwhelmingly penetrating. This perfume needs to be experienced! It should be worn and gently inhaled throughout the day. There is pure delight in catching fleeting whiffs of the softest and smoothest vanilla all day long. It has extraordinary lasting power. I have not found the need to reapply throughout the day. On the contrary, my experience is that the fragrance lingers until it is washed off. Utterly sublime!

Got my sample and have worn this twice. I loved it when I applied a smudge to my wrist the first time - I then liberally applied this today. The initial scent was a little overwhelming at first - Very Woodsy and Oud - smothered in Vanilla. I must admit that I questioned my choice as I gasped through the heavy veil that flooded my senses. But after the first ten minutes I was hooked. This settled into a softly spicy, creamy vanilla yumminess that has an alluring sweetness that pulls you in. I want to hug myself and nuzzle my own neck. I'm constantly smelling my wrist as I snuggle down into my office chair in delight. I am definitely purchasing this baby. My one piece of advice would be to go easy on the application. Its pretty strong and I have a feeling if over-sprayed - it can become nauseating - too much of a good thing. A simply complex delight.

Coconut and vanilla opening is strong, then it goes in the spicy-caramel-light wood direction for the second and third acts, but the opening notes are still present. I can't detect the oud, but it might be the thing that prevents Zafeer from becoming too sweet. I have gotten many compliments from both sexes. Zafeer is my go to winter fragrance pick me up. It's easy to wear and even easier to like... or love. I'm on my second bottle - first was bought from Lucky Scent, and the second was purchased for 1/2 off from Fragrencenet. I own three perfumes from Alexandre J. My only criticism is the over-the-top, gratuitous packaging obviously created for another market. The bottle is pretty without the silly gold adornements and the outer packaging should go in the recycling bin and not become more landfill. I hope someday to see these changes.

This fragrance smells like time itself, for me. The notes are exactly as described and they work so beautifully together. When I first smelled the coconut, toffee and leather for some reason I was immediately transported to my childhood and I felt like I was smelling one of the tastiest memory I had - a coconut dessert I had as a child that closely resembled the candy “Bounty”. After being transported to that lovely day, the middle notes opened discretely to make way to the present (I love spicy smells). The vanilla and musk (a very “clean”, classy musk) then took over, lingering on my skin, and embracing me in warmth. The only thing I didn’t absolutely adore about this is that the staying power isn’t that great on my skin (great on clothes though).

This is something special! Smell like a gourmand-ish leather on my skin! The toffee is strong and the tonka the coconut gives some freshness to the composition one of my favorites! Not a safe blind buy but if you like Leather Fragrances or Gourmand with a twist you should try it! I can't sense any Oud here! The sillage is strong but the longevity is not the greatest at 6 hours is barely noticeable. I didn't get any compliments yet! But i think this deserve a spot on any Gourmand collection! Sillage:. 8/10 Longevity:. 6/10 Scent:. 9/10 Creativity: 10/10 Value. 9/10 Refularly i use 4 to 5 sprays at my wrist, neck and chest, i use it on summer days and nights. I bought my bottle at Ebay! I initially thought it was weird and synthetic, then I fell in love with my sample. It evokes childhood memories for me, not a particular memory but that comforting feeling of being young, safe and cared for. Like getting a gentle hug from a motherly figure with a big heart and a big smile, in a kitchen where spicy tea is brewed and sweet cakes are baked. I would describe it as a woody caramel/toffee vanilla with spices and coconut. It smells both expensive and like candle all at once. Both synthetic and realistic, it has notes that represent both polarities. I love the scent and I even love the kitschy bottle

Mmm I love this it is a bit unusual as others said it could be slightly cloying you don’t need much of it. My husband told me ‘wow, you smell amazing‘ and he doesn’t always comment he seems to prefer the sweetest scents. It has a good amount of silage and lasting power I will smell it the next morning. In my opinion it’s truly unisex I think it’s the leather and oud notes, I would enjoy this on a man as much I like wearing it. My favourite time to use this is in the evening after a shower. I admit to quite enjoying the extravagant packaging even though others think it’s a bit tacky.

This fragrance is beautiful and delicious. I blind bought it and it smells exactly what I was expecting from the notes. It's the perfect combinaison between sweet oud and warm coconut. The mix of vanilla and musk at the base, make me think of caramel. It's a sophisticated and intoxicating perfume in a good way as I can't stop smelling myself. The longevity is pretty good and the projection is moderate on me ! It's a unisex fragrance, that leans way more on the feminine side, but I can see a guy wearing that.

I was wearing it yesterday at the gym, and there was a girl working out next to me, she kept looking and glancing for a while then she approached me and asked me if I could spot her in a bench press set.. so I did and after few minutes she told me you smell so good can I ask you what perfume you are wearing?. It smells really interesting and so clean, sweet and edible kinda smell... it reminds me of one of my favorite sunscreens. I would give it a 8.8/10 IMO

The notes is right but in wrong order. People with trained nose will agree... It starts of with a prominent notes of Oud and Coconut. The Heart notes is where it gets Very Sweet by the Toffee and Tonka. It takes a really long time to reach the final stage (base notes) and the prominent smell going to be the Leather, Cloves and Ylang Ylang. This is the most Try it yourself and thank me later! 😎😏

One of my favorite! If you are vanilla lover you going to be amazed by that one! I can smell vanilla coconut and oud perfect combined! Huge compliment getter also! Ladies love it on a man! And its for sure unisex! Cozy playfull night date time perfume! The best for sure in Alexandre J collection! Also some people dont like the presentation but i really like that bottle!! 10/10 for me!!

Coconut is the main player here, then comes the vanilla and toffee, and just a little hint of Oud its almost un noticeable. I don't get any cloves or leather. Its a cozy calming scent, not loud or sexy. Performance is okay too, i get 4 / 5 on my skin. Its a good scent but very overpriced.

Marvelous oud and vanilla blend. Gave me many compliments and it stayed on my skin for 3-6 hours. Beautiful sweet powdery scent. I do not smell coconut at all

I've got a small trial bottle of this, which came in one of their explorer sets. The coconut vibe is strongest for me in the opening and for first hour. Afterwards vanilla is clearly taking center stage here with the softest underlying smoky wood. If you're expecting proper strong oud, this is not it. Frankly, I wouldn't even necessarily identify it as oud specifically. Longer you wear it, more powdery it becomes. It's nice, but all over it is very much like a scented lotion or body butter. Actually to me it is a bit reminiscent of Warm Vanilla Sugar by Bath and Bodyworks, just that the BaBW is a bit sweeter and has a stronger smoky wood note - a bit ironic considering this perfume is marketed as oud fragrance. Personally I don't get any of the medicinal vibe, which many other reviewers mentioned. For me it's as tame a warm vanilla as it can get. It's very lovely though. Warm, cozy, most appropriate for cooler weather. Sillage on me is more on skin-scent level. Longevity is very good, basically until you take your next bath. Also, to me this is absolutely unisex. I would absolutely love to smell this on a dude. But then for me not all dudes need to smell of tabbacco, booze, herbs or 'ocean'. Now, do you need this? It is indeed very nice. I can see this becoming a winter favorite for many. But frankly I think you can achieve almost the same scent profile by applying Warm Vanilla Sugar by BaBW and maybe dab on a bit of Vanille Noire by Yves Rocher for good measure. It's very nice, but it's not all that deep or special to be honest. If you love the bottle though or you know a vanilla lover who you think may love this, by all means, go for it. Considering the price though and the fact that many people seem to experience this one quite differently, do try to get a sample first, just to be on the safe side. A final warning: the juice is a deep amber in color. Do not spray this on a white shirt/blouse!

So interesting! So this is what oud must smell like. This is a very unique scent! A very friendly member sent me a decant of this yummy fragrance (thanks Mona-Jo, you da best! :D) It first comes on as a woody, sort of mossy scent with a good punch of vanilla to sweeten it up just a tad. The wood/moss combo I'm guessing is the oud note, of which I haven't tried before so I'm new to this. It's softly sweet and a little bit resinous and spicy. After about 10-15 mins it dries down but I don't find it evolved much, just sort of softened a bit, became rounder and filled itself out more. It envelopes you in a lovely woodsy and warm cloud, ever so slightly sweet with the vanilla. The vanilla also makes it kind of yummy. Later in the day I also pick up a light masculine green note in the background. This scent is easily unisex. It's pretty strong, it can be too much so if overdone (I used 2 sprays on each wrist), and has a good medium projection. It lasted a long time too, I sprayed it in the morning and am still getting it this evening, over 9 hours.

This was a heavily discounted blind buy for me. When I first spray this I get a blast of bracing, medicinal oud that clashes with the crunch of toasted, sugared coconut. After a few seconds though, and a bit of a scuffle between the oud and vanilla, things finally settle into a creamy sweet, coconut/vanilla. It reminds me a bit of Black Sugar by Aquolina, but this is smoother, with beautiful dry, woody touches and that luscious dollop of creamy vanilla. The initial crunchy, toasted notes blend wonderfully into the background, but don't disappear completely. There's kind of a "scratchy" type of musk that develops in the far drydown that isn't my favorite, but overall this is still a lovely vanilla fragrance. I think this could grow from a "like" to a "love", time will tell!

Wow ! Usually I’m not too fond of oud or woody scents, but in Zafeer Oud Vanille it’s blended so well that it’s addictive. It adds depth to the vanilla, making it almost chocolatey (although there is no chocolate). It’s sweet and vanilla is prominent, yet it smells clean, which might be due to the ylang-ylang. The coconut is dry, like coconut chips. A unique multifacetted vanilla. Dark and woody, yet gourmand. It’s a thick and strong fragrance, projection and longevity is great and 1-2 sprays is all you need. It definitely is a winter fragrance. Yet it’s neither heavy nor cloying, it smells rich and mature compared to other toffee-vanillas. It’s also more complex and doesn’t have a sunscreen or scented candle vibe.

Boozy vanilla, polished dark woods, black coconut and a caramelized sugar crust. The oud is very subtle in this, barely distinguishable from the leather note. Overall the general scent profile reminds me very much of Lutens' Un Bois Vanille, which I like better because it leans more feminine and is more deep and natural smelling to my nose. Zafeer Oud Vanille features a clean laundry musk that doesn't quite fit in with the other notes. I don't see a big resemblance to Zara Rich Warm Addictive which my boyfriend owns, that one is sweeter and less woody and has a tobacco note. This is a nice grown-up gourmand that is completely unisex to my nose, but nothing that knocks my socks off. A like, not a love.

What a beautiful winter fragrance. Warm, cosy, alluring. Wraps you up in a warm blanket with a cup of tea and some sweeties. Like being surrounded by a light fragrant aura, gently rubbing your nose. Yes, it's sweet, but not 'cheap', not sticky, cloying or nauseating, not overly loud. Just mild, sweet whisper. It's not sexy, it's cosy and beautiful. I mostly get creamy vanilla, hint of coconut and some sweet toffee base. A little spices and amber in the background to balance it out nicely. Rich, indulging and creamy fragrance. Lasts a good while and the bottle is just stunning. Love this one for a cold winter day.

One of my bigger regrets as a discount diver is seeing a damaged box one of these at a discount shop at a huge discount in my place and passed by it, thinking it's just another vanilla oud. 😖 There's a sparkle in this that my other vanilla ouds have that makes it not too cloying even with those woods and leather. Lasts for 2 days on in my skin, over a month on fabric. Doesn't project too much compared to to its fellow Collector frags (moderate at best) but the life span of this is incredible.

It smells like you are in a very luxurious hotel in Dubai being surrounded by the smell of oud based fragrances in the air while enjoying a big slice of vanilla coconut cream cake and you're seated in a huge cushioned couch. Very cuddly and comforting scent. Theres almost a fluffy texture to this scent its really very nice and cosy, perfect cuddle weather scent. Nothing amazing or incredibly special but very nice. I want more from this line for the bottles.

opens up with creamy coconut and vanilla, i think its deffinitely unisex. i can smells something like shampoo in the background, maybe ylang-ylang? after 1 hour, the vanilla still going strong, but the coconut smoothen up and become background. this thing project crazily in every condition. On initial spray, it smelled pretty masculine with that medicinal style oud but after it dryed down a little, it smells slightly more unisex. It’s got a slightly sweet chocolate vanilla kind of dry down. Has a little coconut smell in the air too. With the notes, you’d expect it to be very heavy but it’s not overbearing on me. Definitely a cooler weather scent tho. Smells pretty good and very wearable.

Actually it's quite OK. I don't like oud in perfume, but somehow there it is kind of quiet. It's not screaming, just give the depth for this fragrance. And drydown is beautiful. Wish perfume have a better projection. I can feel it on my skin, but when I left my office and returned after 5 minutes, I can't smell anything. Perfume is for gourmand lovers.

I could almost love this scent but it verges on cloying and synthetic. It would make a great layering fragrance (it was awesome with alien!) but it's too expensive for that. I'll save my sample for the winter when hopefully it'll remain a cozy toasted coconut scent rather than getting sharp and plasticky.

I'm now trying this out in cooler weather and smaller doses and decided that I really, really like it now. I'm getting more oud and woody notes and it's smoother and smells well rounded now. Definitely thinking it might be FB worthy after all. The coconut note is divine mixed with the vanilla and oud.

I have this in my collection for 2 years now and use it ever so often. Somehow it keeps reminding me of a Vanilla scented candle, it has a certain waxy scent to it. It’s warm and cozy with a good lasting power. Like it a lot but not crazy in love.

Little spicy and leathery with sweet toffee and coconut. My boyfriend goes crazy for this, I like it but the vanilla kinda smells like play-doh and that throws me off. The more I wear it the more I love it tho.

Nice powdery vanilla with coconut, toffee and a hint of oud. Not too heavy as some gourmands are. Leans slightly to the feminine side but guys can still pull it off. Almost smells like a luxury skin cream. 7/10

Oud a lot of oud. A little bit caramel and vanilla. No cocnut at all. Maybe some tonka and musc. Nut my cup of tea. Don't like oud perfumes.

An oudy leathery vanilla. Not overbearing or too strong. Doesnt last that long on me.

A very sweet artifical coconut with some oud far in the background. Lasts an hour.

I’m not sure if it’s a leathery note or the woody note at the end that ruins it for me.... One of those odd scents that I would probably admire on someone else but not on me....

Powdery, coconut, unisex, dark background accords. I have a 85% full bottle for sale in the EU if anyone's interested.

Smells like suntan lotion with the tiniest bit of oud. Not my thing. Comparing it to RWA by Zara is a stretch for me.

I was scared of oud here but thanks goodness I can't detect much oud here,if any It opens kind of sharp but in couple of minutes it settles to a creamy vanilla,coconut and a hint of Musky leather which is more like a warm hug.I usually have problem in detecting coconut in perfume.I can't pick it up even in perfumes everyone says they're all about coconut but I can easily smell it here and I love coconut in warm,creamy sweet fumes It's easily wearable by both genders and boy,it's looong lasting Definitely gonna buy it

Do not blind buy! I thought it was going to be much more mysterious than what it is. All I smell is almost like straight benzoin. Points for presentation though!!! Love get the bottle.

This is the only one in the Collector line that I do not recommend to buy, basically is too generic, too dry for women and too sweet for men. It lacks a bit of identity. 2/5

Unless you don’t mind a very in-your-face vanilla/oud scent in your skin for long, then don’t go for it. It’s a no for me.

Loud and chaotic mess. Dry down is the only reason I dont rub it off.

This one was a blind buy and I thought it will smell more like Zara - Warm addictive (before the re-formulation). However - Zara fragrance is much much better, not even considering the price difference. This one is a heavy mess, something sweet, something synthetic, something totally dismissed. I am a big fan of vanilla/ coconut notes but this one is a huge disappointment. The price is absolutely enormous for such creation but the bottle and packaging is quite sophisticated which is why you pay so much. Alexander J. has incredible fragrances such as my favourite Silver Ombre or Mandarine Sultan but this one is not worth it at all. On the good side (for good or bad) - it lasts more than 12 hours on the skin, quite heavy, noticeable, some people find it attractive and delicious but I would not recommend it as a blind buy, try it first on the skin because it tents to vary on different skins.

There are very few scents that I actively dislike, this is unfortunately one of them. I had just started getting into oud when I purchased a sample of this and I'm sad to say but to me the oud in this is kind of stinky. Imagine getting into a car with leather seats, owned by a person who doesn't take care of their hygiene, to compensate for that they've hung one of those scent trees smelling of cheap vanilla in the rearview mirror. This is that in a bottle.

A bizarre chaotic mixing of something like Mancera Aoud Vanille and Virgin Island Water. Unique, but ultimately too sweet and tropical. Long lasting but somewhat off-putting yet intriguing. Confusing pleasant smell..
