Afternoon Splash

I was intrigued by the online hype about Afternoon Swim by Louis Vuitton, a fragrance that combines bright orange, sea salt, and bergamot notes. But I was disappointed when I checked the price, $350 for a 100 ml bottle, or $50 for a 10 ml decant. That’s absurd for a freshie! I would never pay that much for any fragrance. That’s why I was happy to find Alexandria Fragrances. Their version of Afternoon Swim is fantastic. It has a bright realistic sweet and juicy orange note, a refined and crisp sea salt note, and a touch of green from the bergamot note. They blend together to create a luxurious and pleasing scent. It also has great performance, with moderate to strong projection for the first two hours. As I rode my scooter on the street under the hot sun, everyone seemed to follow my scent trail. A woman even asked me what I was wearing at the red light. I smiled and said it was Afternoon Swim by Louis Vuitton, lol. Forgive me, my friends, but most people don’t know what Alexandria Fragrance is anyway, and it’s hard to tell them where to get it. Besides, it’s more fun to pretend that I’m rich and fancy, am I rite! After the 2-hour strong initial projection, it becomes a long-lasting and intimate scent, with more sea salt and bergamot notes. For the price, it’s affordable but not cheap. But for a scent profile like this, I considered it as a steal. I love it so much, I might even buy another bottle as a backup. Or maybe I’ll just save up for the real thing...Nah, who am I kidding? I’m too frugal for that.

One of my favorite from the house period. Now I haven't tried any LV fragrances so I am judging it strictly based on it's own profile, but I really dig this cologne for summer and spring. It's similar to Black panther (tygar clone) but for my taste I like this one slightly better. Visionary (imagination) is also a great scent and pacific coast (pacific chill) is also good but the weaker out of the three. For afternoon swim, it's just a clean citrus bomb that automatically puts me in a certain mindset. I'm a pretty casual guy, and this fills that purpose as it's not overtly formal or dressed up (although you can rock it that way too), and it's just a great daytime hot weather scent. I would say this is unisex with a slight lean masculine, but more unisex than Black Panther, so a woman can definitely wear this with no issue. Longevity is around 5-7 hours on my skin, and sillage is decent. Overall just an easy buy for me and full bottle worthy. Respect to LV for the creation and kudos to AF for their inspiration.

I have not smelled Afternoon Swim, so I can't comment on their connection. Starts with a very bright, but light orangey citrus. Reminds me of Clinique Happy for men, except that one smells kind of like circus peanuts and this one is a more realistic orange. Quite fresh/refreshing even for seemingly such a singular note. It's like orange plus. The dry down gets a bit boozy. Reminds me of rum. It's also a bit salty/ozonic. Which normally means calone, which normally is a problem for me. Luckily, it's so subtle that it's not a problem at all. Because of the lightness of the scent and the lack of additional notes listed, I would imagine that what's helping boost the scent is calone and Iso E Super (which I'm mostly anosmic to). I like it a lot and look forward to wearing it more.

I haven’t tried the original to compare but this little wonder amazed me with the quality and performance of the juice. It’s only 50 ml bottle but packs a power. Some dupes, although they are good, has this chemical or synthetic blast in the opening but here, it’s smooth all along. I didn’t experience that synthetic vibe at all, very natural. This is pretty linear but with a class. No one would a suspect you’re wearing a dupe. A great spring and summer frag, all I can say is I love ❤️ this one especially the cute price that makes me smile. If you like the original and you have it, this may be a practical back up 👍 Again, try before you buy. 9/10

I love it, comparing it directly with Afternoon Swim on one wrist and Afternoon Splash on the other there are some noticable differences (e.g; the opening of Splash smells more of citrus, and longevity is better than Swim) but I love it in its own right. However, if you don't directly compare them, every whiff of Splash makes me think "ah man, I love Afternoon Swim" - it's very clear where the inspiration for this fragrance came from. Alexandria have done a wonderful job. Note: I'm curious to know if there are regional differences, I have the "Made in UK" variant. Unsure whether all of their fragrances are made here.
