Afternoon Splash

I was intrigued by the online hype about Afternoon Swim by Louis Vuitton, a fragrance that combines bright orange, sea salt, and bergamot notes. But I was disappointed when I checked the price, $350 for a 100 ml bottle, or $50 for a 10 ml decant. That’s absurd for a freshie! I would never pay that much for any fragrance. That’s why I was happy to find Alexandria Fragrances. Their version of Afternoon Swim is fantastic. It has a bright realistic sweet and juicy orange note, a refined and crisp sea salt note, and a touch of green from the bergamot note. They blend together to create a luxurious and pleasing scent. It also has great performance, with moderate to strong projection for the first two hours. As I rode my scooter on the street under the hot sun, everyone seemed to follow my scent trail. A woman even asked me what I was wearing at the red light. I smiled and said it was Afternoon Swim by Louis Vuitton, lol. Forgive me, my friends, but most people don’t know what Alexandria Fragrance is anyway, and it’s hard to tell them where to get it. Besides, it’s more fun to pretend that I’m rich and fancy, am I rite! After the 2-hour strong initial projection, it becomes a long-lasting and intimate scent, with more sea salt and bergamot notes. For the price, it’s affordable but not cheap. But for a scent profile like this, I considered it as a steal. I love it so much, I might even buy another bottle as a backup. Or maybe I’ll just save up for the real thing...Nah, who am I kidding? I’m too frugal for that.

One of my favorite from the house period. Now I haven't tried any LV fragrances so I am judging it strictly based on it's own profile, but I really dig this cologne for summer and spring. It's similar to Black panther (tygar clone) but for my taste I like this one slightly better. Visionary (imagination) is also a great scent and pacific coast (pacific chill) is also good but the weaker out of the three. For afternoon swim, it's just a clean citrus bomb that automatically puts me in a certain mindset. I'm a pretty casual guy, and this fills that purpose as it's not overtly formal or dressed up (although you can rock it that way too), and it's just a great daytime hot weather scent. I would say this is unisex with a slight lean masculine, but more unisex than Black Panther, so a woman can definitely wear this with no issue. Longevity is around 5-7 hours on my skin, and sillage is decent. Overall just an easy buy for me and full bottle worthy. Respect to LV for the creation and kudos to AF for their inspiration.

I have not smelled Afternoon Swim, so I can't comment on their connection. Starts with a very bright, but light orangey citrus. Reminds me of Clinique Happy for men, except that one smells kind of like circus peanuts and this one is a more realistic orange. Quite fresh/refreshing even for seemingly such a singular note. It's like orange plus. The dry down gets a bit boozy. Reminds me of rum. It's also a bit salty/ozonic. Which normally means calone, which normally is a problem for me. Luckily, it's so subtle that it's not a problem at all. Because of the lightness of the scent and the lack of additional notes listed, I would imagine that what's helping boost the scent is calone and Iso E Super (which I'm mostly anosmic to). I like it a lot and look forward to wearing it more.

I haven’t tried the original to compare but this little wonder amazed me with the quality and performance of the juice. It’s only 50 ml bottle but packs a power. Some dupes, although they are good, has this chemical or synthetic blast in the opening but here, it’s smooth all along. I didn’t experience that synthetic vibe at all, very natural. This is pretty linear but with a class. No one would a suspect you’re wearing a dupe. A great spring and summer frag, all I can say is I love ❤️ this one especially the cute price that makes me smile. If you like the original and you have it, this may be a practical back up 👍 Again, try before you buy. 9/10

I love it, comparing it directly with Afternoon Swim on one wrist and Afternoon Splash on the other there are some noticable differences (e.g; the opening of Splash smells more of citrus, and longevity is better than Swim) but I love it in its own right. However, if you don't directly compare them, every whiff of Splash makes me think "ah man, I love Afternoon Swim" - it's very clear where the inspiration for this fragrance came from. Alexandria have done a wonderful job. Note: I'm curious to know if there are regional differences, I have the "Made in UK" variant. Unsure whether all of their fragrances are made here.

Definitely an amazing fragrance by Alexandria, they've very accurately recreated the smell of Afternoon Swim. Only key differences are that for me, the immediate opening smelled more like fresh lemon zest than anything like an orange/mandarin, but after 5-10 minutes that unique orange smell comes out and is almost indistinguishable from what I remember Afternoon Swim smelling like in the store to my nose, but I'm sure there are some nuances that those with more keen senses may notice.

I want to say that this fragrance is a synthetic mess. I want to say that it doesn't reflect the original scent by Louis Vuitton faithfully. I want to say that it's not worth the money, it has zero longevity, and you should look elsewhere. I want to keep this fragrance all to myself. It's hard to find a clone that checks all of the boxes, but here it is. It's LV Afternoon Swim with better projection, better longevity, and at a fraction of the cost. Unbelievable.

High quality interpretation of Afternoon Swim. Got a sample of AS and the opening; first 10 seconds is like 80% there not as bright but still smells amazing and smells natural compared to the original. After 30 sec this is a 99%+ similarity to AS. This also lasts all day and the projection is much better than the original. Smells like an orange creamsickle. My girlfriend can't differentiate from opening to dry down. A must cop.

This thing is insanely good. Got the sample set and tried it. Loved the smell. Today is the first day I really sprayed to wear all day. That opening smelled like I bathed in orange zest, soooo bright and good. Dried out into this salty orange smell that has me smelling my wrist all day. Been 7 hours and i still smell it on my skin and it still is slightly projecting off my clothes when i pass next to people in my office.

I got a sample of afternoon swim and wore it side by side to this and there is almost no difference especially after it drys down if I put my nose up to it the LV is less sweet and more has a airy vibe compared to AS which is more heavy and more citrus dominant probably because of the higher concentration of oil but in the air no one would be able to tell the diffrence, save yourself $250 and get afternoon splash instead

If you love citrus but are frustrated with its short-lived presence in most fragrances, here’s your answer. Afternoon Splash is both uplifting and noticeable for a long time. If you are critical of clone houses, I suppose you’ll be happy paying LV’s insane designer scent prices. But if you just enjoy smelling good, this one will suffice! Recommended for spring and summer’s hot days.

Compared side by side w the LV... this is overall denser, sweeter, saltier. I believe the LV purposefully has more of a lighter, airier quality to it. With the extra ambroxan in this, it could potentially be overpowering, whereas the LV can certainly be oversprayed. I get great performance from this. All this to say, this is an unbelievably accurate clone, and I love it! 🥰

Great duplicate of Afternoon Swim. The opening is slightly different from 'Swim' but it dries down to 95% the same. Ideal for those who want an alternative to 'Swim' without paying an arm and a leg. Juicy, realistic, masculine, orange/tangerine fragrance. Alexandria Fragrances shines when it comes to duplicating minimalistic scents.

I've not smelled the original Louis Vuitton but this is gorgeous. It smells like real citrus fruits but it's a banger it lasts on my skin at least 12 hours. I can even smell it the next morning somewhat! This is a truly uplifting summer scent puts you in a great mood almost instantly and great value for what you pay!

This perfume just makes me wanna have tequila with my friends lol. It's zesty, fruity like a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, happy, unbothered- sunshine and beach party in a bottle! The sea salt note develops slowly and subtly and gives it a "dryness", I personally love a good salt note! Safe blind buy

A top 3 fragrance from the house. I put this on at 8am and can still smell it projecting at 2pm. Watch out for fakes. I think I had a bottle before with much weaker performance. Buy directly from the brand, spray it, and let it sit for a week or two before judging performance

beautifully citrus and fresh, slightly heavy sitting on your skin but in a pleasant way. i find it mostly unisex leaning slightly masculine which is perfect for me personally. fantastic warm weather fragrance with decent longevity. love it!

I love this scent. It is a smooth and beautiful summer citrus scent. The performance is average at best, otherwise this would be a 10/10. I have not tried LV Afternoon Swim, but on it's own this is a fantastic hot weather scent.

Literally an unreal summer scent. Salty aquatic with very sharp citrus in the opening that tones down to a very fruity salty aquatic. Banger scent, full bottle for life.

This is a fantastic, natural-smelling citrus that's similar to Afternoon Swim. Despite the small differences between this and the original, it's close to as good of a fragrance. Comparison to Afternoon Swim: This immediately reminds me of Afternoon Swim when I spray it, but I can clearly tell there are differences, especially in the way the citrus comes across. The citruses in Afternoon Swim smell like fresh mandarine orange whereas in this, they lean more towards fresh, ripe lemon zest. The aquatic notes are dialed way down in this compared to Afternoon Swim. Both have a similar salty vibe in the background. I like the scent profile in Afternoon Swim slightly more, but by a small margin. As for performance, Afternoon Splash is the winner when it comes to projection. I get similar longevity but maybe an extra 2 ft of projection when wearing this. Costs aside, I think both fragrances are equally good and have their own strengths and weaknesses, but given their huge difference in cost, I'll take the Afternoon Splash all day. A very faithful copy of Afternoon Swim. I had my girlfriend compare both side by side and she could only tell the difference by taking a closer sniff. Longevity seems to be significantly better in this, too! Very pleased with Alexandria as they seem to have improved their quality from the last time I bought from them. Though I will say that I can detect the same base from all the ones that I’ve tried so far (Brasilia, Zion, Afternoon Splash, & Jack). It’s a very subtle, oily base that is unfamiliar to me from the other Extraits that I’ve tried and sometimes it turns me off from delving more into the house. Nonetheless, I love this fragrance for it’s accessibility and quality. Would recommend this over AS given the bang for buck ratio. Edit: I think the base smells so unfamiliar to me because it also seems to double as some sort of fixative that isn’t as common in French perfumery. This base starts off quite heavy upon initial application but soon gives way to the actual fragrance.

I actually quite surprised by this bottle when I compared this to LV Afternoon Swim. Surprisingly I liked this version over LV. The other day I tried AF Love on the Beach vs LV On the Beach and definitely LV was much deeper but Afternoon Splash is much denser than LV. I sprayed both bottle at the same time, LV turns airy, soft quite soon while AF holds citrus much longer. After I bought tons of Alexandria bottles for fun (didn't even think about comparing to the originals I have), I am using these for my room fragrance but maybe not for this.

Sweet and juicy citrus, mostly bergamot and tangerine, perfect summer scent. The marine salt vomiting inducing calone, a cheap and awful substitute for real natural ambergris, is not stinky like in Profumo, Missoni Wave, Eight & Bob etc. it only shows up a tiny bit in the far dry down so it doesn't bother those sensible to it. I like this clone better than LV original 9/10

I never would have thought about salt having a smell until I got my hands on this one. Between the bitter/sharp/sweet citrus and the salt note, I can't help but think of American style Mexican food, which doesn't make a lick of sense because that's usually served with lime wedges, not orange wedges. Now I want tacos. And maybe a margarita. Not fair!!! >_<;

this is spot on compared to AS. I can't tell the difference after 5mins. This is even stronger as well. AS is weak as hell

This is such a beautiful fragrance, and although I haven't smelt LV, I have smelt tygar, and the citrus and woods combo in this is of the same quality. Sadly, this fragrance gets poor performance on my skin. After spraying 15 times, I can barely get 1-2 hours of performance. Even spraying directly on clothes, I can only faintly smell it by the end of the day. Sad because quality wise its an amazing citrus freshy

A saltier, heavier version to afternoon swim. It's like a more masculine twist on the OG. The opening can be a bit too harsh as well. You'd probably like this one if you like sea note. I prefer the lightness of the OG, in this sense Jean Lowe Azure does it better. Will update once my Montagne arrives.

Delightful. Sadly a 3 or 4 hour scent at best and Alexandria charges too much for that. (I suspect they copied the original in this). Best used for short outdoor occasions.

This is spot on AS for the first 10 minutes and then it disappears forever , i’d recommend having a 1000 ml decant so you can enjoy it for the rest of the day.

I'll start by saying I very much enjoy Alexandria Fragrances as a whole. Great presentations and on most of the offerings they are within 10% match of the original. So I got a sample of Afternoon Splash. This is the first fragrance I've gotten from them that turned my nose. In the first 10 minutes there's an unmistakable urine smell. I'd describe it as "pissy" . It's very off-putting. Now this does subside but never leaves. Maybe this is a bad batch, I'm going to let it sit. But I will say the overall vibe I got from this is not at all what I expected the scent to be like. Not unless they're idea of an afternoon swim is at the inner city public pool overloaded with chlorine to combat the people peeing in the pool. And the dryness is shocking compared to say, L'immensity. I was expecting a juicy Citrus like Hermès Eau Tres Fraiche or Eau Givree, or a bitter rindy like Light Blue Forever. I can't see them being completely off on the scent profile so I'm gonna say this profile is not for me unfortunately. But as for Alexandria they are still a great place to shop I'm not going to hold this one against them. This just wasn't it for me.

Don’t know how people say this is similar to Afternoon swim. This is so much saltier and marine like compared to AS and lacks a majority of the subtlety, smoothness and sharpness that makes AS so appealing to me. Almost a scrubber this one.

Terrible, old grandma smell, I hate it, can barely smell a hint of terrible synthetic citrus, (purchased directly from Alexandria fyi). If you want a realistic orange smell buy orange sanguine
