Anubis Kiss

Bravo Hany... after splashing out on Nostalgia, Sweet Smoke, Egyption King and King Tut I had a hankering for Black Afgano but simply refuse to splash that amount of cash on a supposedly reformulated weaker 30ml bottle. Splashed out on Anubis Kiss and it was delight at first sniff. Absolutely gorgeous stuff as are the others for that matter. I'm sorry but £100+ on 30ml is a little exuberant don't you think Nasomatto? Justifiable if you made it available in a 75-100ml but that for 30ml? No not in this day and age. Also I cannot say enough good things about Alexandria... Hany is truly doing something special with Alexandria, he is never too busy to answer questions and his fragrances perform how you would want and expect them too while not being unrealistic with their prices, not sure other indies can say the same to be fair. And up yours all the naysayers getting narky over these inspired creations... copying orginal work... my point being the case above. If you have the income to splash out and your willing to accept that poor level of performance on your skin then more power to you but the rest of us mear mortals will stick to what we can afford you snobs...

This is hands down one of the best fragrances I've ever worn. It doesn't smell like weed. To me, it is woody with a touch of sweetness and has this pungent (in a good way) scent that is sharp from up close but gives off a really unique and pleasant aroma. I've only worn it on cool nights, but I hope it is just as pleasant during warmer nights. Performance is crazy good; stays on skin throughout the night and into the next morning. On clothes...forever until washed. I'm curious to sample Black Afgano just to see how close they really are. I've sampled about a dozen of Alexandria's perfumes and I'll give them about 75% success rate. Black Tie Affair is my second favorite from this house. A couple others need more work, IMO.

Dark woods, heavy incense and a touch of green notes with a hint of cannabis sweetness and freshness comes out on my skin. It’s weirdly fresh considering it’s composition. My partner smelled it and she instantly loved it for its freshness, however I enjoy it for the dark, warm and resiny smell it radiates off of me. It reminds me of my incense box when I lay down to read at night. A calming and grounding fragrance. For me it’s a definite keeper. I will use it mostly on colder days of spring/fall and winter both as an office scent and for nights cuddled up in the sofa with my partner

Okay, it smells like hash in the opening. Yes. But once you get past that, it's a woody, aromatic masterpiece. I wore it to work last week (hesitantly) and got nothing but great feedback. It smells like nothing anyone else is wearing. Daring, dark, sensual, earthy. It's amazing. And it lasts FOREVER if you spray it on clothes. Longevity is beyond beast and projection is great. Get past the "it makes you smell like weed" thing, on dry down, it smells like nothing else on the market. 9/10

The only way someone wouldn't quantify this as beast mode is because they went ansomnic to it. This is STRONG juice. I washed with soap and water and it still smelled like it until I scrubbed. That said this is a very resiny, earthy fresh scent that comes off a little damp and sweet as well. It really feels like a piney moistfirest floor minus the skankiness. Be warned this is very polarizing. People are either interested or offended, so this is a "for you" scent.

The sticker on my bottle is white, not black as shown on this picture. It smells just like Black Afgano, dark, mysterious and smoky. However, it is not as potent as Black Afgano. I sprayed one spray on my arm 2 hours ago and I can barely smell it unless I lift my arm close to my nose. Perhaps it is not the best weather to use this one now as it is approximately 24 degree Celsius. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Projection: 8/10

That's my first fragrance from Alexandria Fragrances house, I buy it for myself on my birthday, and I love it, I never try original Black Afgano, but this one is awesome. It's dark, original , interesting, gives me a relaxing vibes. After this fragrance, I'm buying 7 more from this house and only 2 of them are on same level with that for me. 10/10.

WOW!!! this is MAGICAL!!! so masculine, sophisticated and VERY potent! I won about 60 different fragrances and this one has catapulted to my top 3 in a VERY short time! buy it and love it! Thecheckoutguy@ You are out of your mind , or...there's. something seriously wrong with your nose. Anubis Kiss is pleasant and long lasting, it was a successful blind buy for me and some other Alexandria perfumes I have. Go buy yourself some Avon stink-bombs, take my advice.

Mr. Hany Hafez has created a monster....damnnnnnnn....im blown away....save your money, dont buy black Afghano...its very weak after reformulation and still so expensive...this one called Anubis Kiss is a nuclear version of BA....wow 10....no weakness

An incredible, totally accurate rendition of Black Afgano. Alexandria Fragrances have captured everything that makes Nasomatto’s fragrance so special. I’m so impressed. Will be saving up for a full bottle of this now.

Sometimes you need to let Alexandria's fragrances sit for around 4 weeks too fully mature. If he was buying premade oils then they wouldn't need to sit. You just have to be patient

There's not much to say except that this is an amazing clone of the legendary Black Afgano. If BA's your kinda perfume (like me) then buy this without hesitation!

WHEEEED I am surprised as to how accurately this frag captures that hashish aroma, stunning! That said, I think it smells better than what it is inspired by. 9/10

Not just masculine, deep and earthy , another success for Alexandria !!! Better than Black Afgano IMO.

I blind bought this fragrance based on the reviews here, and just received my bottle today. I have read the reviews stating Anubis Kiss to be more of a skin scent, and on my first day trying it out, I felt that I agreed with these sentiments. However, this is one skin scent that lasts for days! At the first spray I could see why the reviews have compared it to Black Afghano; it has been inspired by Nasomotto’s creation, and they do indeed smell similar. As much as all the notes appear to be there, I had found BA to be a lot stronger with regards to sillage and projection, and with a bit more depth. Black Afghano is more crude and dirty. I find Anubis Kiss to smell uncannily similar to a thick, dark brown oud perfume oil I had purchased in Fes, Morocco a couple of years back; it is deep and resinous with a warm, ambery sweetness running through it, but it also showcases this sparkling green note that makes it so enchanting and almost clean-smelling, like Imperial Leather soap, on the dry down. I was also strongly reminded of a DS & Durga fragrance, of which three blotters lay for months on my dressing table. It was either Amber Teutonic or Notorious Oud, but I suspect the former due to its aromatic green and woody notes that shone through in exactly the same way as they do with Anubis Kiss. I have also found Anubis Kiss to project prominent sandalwood notes on my skin. Having said that, this could be down to me using sandalwood powder as a deodorant. Either way, it is the woody notes that remain on my skin. Again, a clean and soft, almost feminine, temple scent. To get that nostalgic sweet-smoky note of the incense and the cannabis that you are greeted with in the opening notes I have had to really dig my nose into my skin. I would have personally liked those crude, sticky, animalistic notes to have carried themselves throughout the long lifetime of the fragrance, but the tame and disciplined nature of Anubis Kiss does allow it to be worn as a universal scent at any time of the day. EDIT: One week later - I put two sprays of this on before making my weekly trip to see my Kurdish barber this morning. It took an hour to get there on the tube and bus (and it was hot today), and it takes an hour to cut my hair, etc. At the end, when he was washing my hair, he said to me that my fragrance was very strong. He was not able to fully describe it, and I’m not sure he was a fan. Regardless, it goes to show that Anubis Kiss is definitely not a skin scent, and I actually really, really like it.

Whooweee...this sample I got in with my other order is a straight up weed frag!!! Holy shinola...it's like someone took the bowl of a bong that's been used for a weekend of fun, scraped out the residue, put it into a bottle of a Woody-Oud fragrance and let it ferment and just get stronger and stronger for 3 months. The result...is what you have here in "Anubis Kiss". This is powerful, amazing smelling and beautiful!! This frag lasts for friggin DAYS!! The few shots I sprayed on a test-napkin literally have been fragrant for a straight-up week!! Same as the real thing...this just lasts and lasts and you're gonna be noticed wearing this. After the cannabis note dries down...this is the most heavenly dark-woody-resinous fragrance I've smelled in a LONG time! I can't claim to have ever smelled "Black Afgano" as these types of frags aren't my deal. But I remember the smell of that lifestyle and those that lived in it...this frag captures that essence PERFECTLY!! I don't want to be yanked for a random drug test so I'll never wear this frag. I'll just sniff-sniff-pass it on to a friend that indulges in that lifestyle... Wow...this stuff is wild! If I could get away with wearing this I would buy a full size bottle...but my lifestyle doesn't match up with the image it conveys in the opening...legalized or not.

I like it...just don’t love it. Much better in the air than up close. Opens with a very green Cannabis note. One can tell that the oud and incense are peaking around the corner. As it dries down, the incense really comes to life blending with the cannabis nicely. The oud in this is not skanky/fecal, but really there to add depth and complexity. Don’t let the oud note scare you away from at least trying this one. Longevity is above average, projection is average. For men...best for fall and winter, but could be pulled off in spring. I enjoyed my sample and the few times I wore it. It just doesn’t pop enough in any particular area for me to purchase. Again, it is a like...no love. As always, get a sample to get your own opinion.

For me, a like but not a love. It does not smell like weed. It also has a harsh chemical smell when you first apply it, although this only lasts a few minutes. After that, it's a full blast of woody, oudy, resin for 8 to 12 hours. While listed as unisex, I would consider this to be primarily a masculine scent. I also would not recommend this to anyone just starting out on their fragrance journey. This is a scent you have to work your way up to. I've never owned Black Afgano, so I won't make any comparisons here. But I've tried several other Alexandria clones via their sample pack and they've all come very close to matching scents I have owned.

This is spot-on with Black Afgano. I'd say 95% similar. Unfortunately (as is the case with most AF perfumes), the performance is garbage. I can't even detect it after about an hour.... My advice would be to save up and just buy the actual Black Afgano because it has beast mode performance, whereas this clone is a joke. I don't understand why Alexandria Fragrances insists on giving these clone fragrances horrendous performance, meanwhile their own signature creations last for days on-end, but don't smell very good. FIX IT!!!

I like this. I wish I loved it (as the notes had me thinking I would). There is a sharpness to the initial scent that I can’t quite place and I find just this side of off-putting. But I really enjoy the dry down and how it smells on my clothes (it LASTS). I actually don’t find the cannabis notes all too strong, it’s more of a greenness that flows through the spice and amber and oud. I only just got the bottle and I have heard it changes over time so I am interested to see what happens.

Kind of a pothead/medicinal oud thing here. At first it smells like an ashtray, but in a nice way, in a way that I like. Then it mellows out all cool and metallic, until the patchouli says hi and shapes the whole thing into a more relaxed, outdoorsy hippie vibe which I'm not as fond of. Overall not that interesting to me, but still enjoyable. 6.5/10

About as beastly as any fragrance I own. This will turn heads without fail, but be warned that I have received negative feedback. I will make a more informed commentary when I have a chance to wear it a few more times.

Opens cannabis. Dries down into a smoky amber oud scent. I like it. Lasts long. Sillage is moderate. I wish the cannabis was more prominent in the dry down though.

Opened smoky cannabis. Not much oud for me. Not the sweet smell like Smoke for Soul either. Haven’t tried Black Afgano so can’t compare. Likable but that’s about it. Edit. Skin spray lasted about five-six hrs. Clothing sprayed still projecting after ten hours. Edit. Still on my clothing well after the 24hrs mark.

Anubis Kiss was one of four samples I purchased from Alexandria Fragrances. To be generous, I strongly suspect I was sent immature product. I tried this stuff in the air and on my skin. A very weak smell of smoke that lasted about 15 minutes on my skin before being undetectable was my experience. I checked my nose for fatigue by smelling my other fragrances and my sense of smell was functioning normally. So, I have to blame the product. I am going to let these four disappointing samples, including Anubis Kiss, mature for a few months and then come back to them to see if it is an unfinished product I was sent. As of now, I cannot recommend this to anyone. Do not buy this unless 15 minutes of a smokey scent is something you wish to experience. Save your money and buy a box of matches. 1 month update: No improvement. For Chanel level pricing per ml I find what they sent me a disgrace.

I was really hoping I would like this, and really thought I would, given the notes...maybe it's just too butch for me. Very, very dry and definitely has that well-used bong smell. Glad I got it as a sample. I will be giving this one away, if I can.

I bought it because of reviews. It's very weak. 10 minutes and it's gone unless you rub you nose in it. Don't recommend it.

Dear lord, don't blind buy this! I like some challenging fragrances, encre Noir and salvador dali pour home even more so but this stuff is on another level. Not sure how anyone anywhere could like this, when it went on it was all I could do not to scrub it off, it stinks, smells of decay to me. I've been wearing it now for several hours, it's not as strong but still smells awful. I wear scents either for myself, or to please others at work, this fits neither. Will see how my wife reacts when she comes in, but not very confident. Only plus is, if you like it, one spray lasts for an eternity

Don't know why my original review got taken down,I offered an honest opinion, this stuff is simply awful! There's no way on earth this is going to be a crowd pleaser,if you're going to wear it,just do it for yourself,but don't inflict in on anyone else please!

This is virtually an EXACT interpretation of Black Afgano. I am astonished. It really does capture everything great about BA - the smokiness, the resins, the oud and .....hash??. At four times cheaper this is an excellent alternative. It performs the same too. This is even closer than the very excellent oil by perfume parlour,and like that one, the only real difference I get is that this is slightly sweeter - which for me, actually makes it smell better than BA!. This is highly recommended if price is an issue -£1 per ml v £4 per ml - so a very safe cheaper buy if you like Black Afgano! Very well done Alexandria fragrances. Edit: I wonder whether the closeness of the Perfume Parlour and Anubis Kiss to each other hints at a reformulation of Black Afgano - that they are based on an older version?. I have smelt BA many times, but only today received my first bottle from a dear friend as an early Valentines gift. She was so excited to give it to me and I to try it -and I am surprised how slightly diluted it seems compared to this and the Perfume parlour oil. Those two have a sweetness in the opening that the real BA has, but not quite as amped up in either of those clones. And they are stronger. I have only sprayed the BA once and have just opened the bottle, so Iwill give it a week and try again - but seeing as apparently BA is a beast and one or two sprays is all you need, I am shocked how weak this seems. Extrait parfum?? It is real - bought from Liberties in London. Has there been a reformulation of BA ??? I don't have the heart to tell her any of this considering how excited she was and how much she paid for this - so I will probably wear the Alexandria and tell her that is what she bought. Wow. Anyone that says these clones have no place - take heed!

I just ordered a bottle of Anubis Kiss because I got a sample of Bright Black by Narcotica Perfumes and I love that scent. Accordingly, some reviewers said this has similarity to Bright Black but more on Black Afgano by Nassomato. Alexandria produced great smelling clones. Since I started this hobby 4 yrs ago. The closest clones to the original that I have in my collection are No Apologies also from Alexandria for Nassomato Pardon, then the ALT's Crystal 23 for Baccarat Rouge 540, but that's according to my nose. We'll see if this one is close to Black Afgano as some folks mentioned here. I will update as soon as I received that little guy in the mail. Peace out! Update: Just got it in the mail today. The opening was quite different but the mid and the dry down creates the same vibe as Black Afgano. I also noticed that this one seems sharper but that's how my nose analyze it. It's actually gorgeous and seems to last long. As a clone, this is not bad. On its own, it's a decent fragrance with good scent quality at an affordable price in my opinion. I will rate this fragrance a 8.5 /10 “Let us spread the scents of peace and kindness. My bottle is at least four and a half years old. When I first bought Anubis Kiss I was in the habit of wearing Black Afgano. At that time I found Anubis Kiss rather disappointing: more ashy, less oily than BA. Like a dry, cheap version of BA - not cool since Alexandria fragrances are often clones but not that inexpensive ounce for ounce. I stored it in a drawer in its original brown cardboard presentation box. Now it is about 1/5 evaporated. The smell has improved, but there is a fresh, oily grassy smell down inside Black Afgano that is missing here. That resinous green part was what made me love BA. It's kind of the same way I like pecan pie: I say I like it, but the only part I like is the crust. The other day I saw a dessert product called "Pecan Pie in a Jar" - you could see it was the syrupy filling and a few pecans, without crust. My experience with Anubis Kiss is analogous. It's everything about Black Afgano except the part I really love.

I waited about a year before reviewing this to allow for maceration as I could tell it was just mixed within a few weeks of first receiving it. This is similar to the perfume it is trying to copy but a bit different. If you take the distinctively real agarwood/oud and cannabis dilutions you can detect out of Nasomato that make it smell acceptable, then it smells like this one. On fabric it is too much and eternal. On skin its delicious nutty and potent. There are nutty notes and terpenes trying to pull off cannabis accord but it comes off a little disjointed to my nose. This went for anamalic oud notes, so it smells a little harsh on drydown like a dirty ashtray or dark insense with patrouli and rooty vetiver notes. I'm thinking about rebottling this with a higher oud dilution into my bottle so it will smell how I wanted and thought it would. This should round it out and bring it down a notch too with real oud.

This is ATOMIC! When I received this in the mail I was so excited to see if all the hype was true and I def wasn't disappointed. Anubis Kiss starts out with a strong, burnt cannabis smell to it. It smells like the tar resins left after it had been lit. It is very woodsy, fark, and to me bas a sharp vetiver type smell to it. It kind of reminds me of Lailique Encre Noir. I slightly squeezed the atomizer and allowed a drop to hit both of my arms, and my God it lit up the whole room. Def not a blind but but it is very intriqing and alluring. I've gotten a few good compliments on it so far. It's def a fall/ winter type fragrance. It's a high quality frag if you can't afford Black Afghano. It takes no more that 2 sprays max and it's going to project 3ft plus and last for data on the clothing.

@gabri. Relax. It's rather insecure to get so upset if someone dislikes a scent you love. I got news for you... Some people are going to hate the way you smell. Others will love it. And some don't care either way. Life goes on. Enjoy your scent that's all that matters As for Anubis Kiss. My 4 year bottle leaked out to mostly empty. But the scent is definitely a love-hate kind of scent. Its a scent for people more into unique challenging fragrances. Woody, smoky hashish is mainly what you get. Personally it grew on me and I'm considering buying another bottle and hoping it doesn't leak! And no it didn't evaporate. I could smell Anubis Kiss in my Frag storage cabinet all year long every time I opened the door!

@VEsse I have noticed the all AA fragrances are rather fresh at first. I recommend a few sprays to introduce flow in the bottle. Wait a month and test again. I have 9 AA releases and all of them required a curing process before truly coming into focus. I think it may be because they are blended at the time of purchase, but I could be mistaken. I will say that as much as I love this release, it definitely pales in comparison, but not enough for me to dislike. You get the whole picture as you would with Black Afgano, but perhaps a little less complex, vibrant, out of focus if you will. A worthy purchase if you love the original, but are a habitual oversprayer on a budget.

This is one of the most magical scent I have ever smelt, this fragrance instantly reminded me of a dark cognac liquor that's only served from the top shelf...if this was inspired by the Nasomoto Black Afgano when compared especially to the price I would highly recommend Anubis Kiss... this is the first fragrance I had ever worn and I cannot spray more than 3 sprays or else it would be nuclear... I wore this fragrance to work one day and even after washing the shirt the scent was still protecting heavily, persons love and hate this fragrance due to its potency. I so love this one from the house of Alexandria Fragrances

This is very close to Black Afgano. The only real difference is that Anubis Kiss has a slightly more amped up sweetness, probably the resin note - and for me this makes it even more enjoyable than B.A. Performance isn't quite as good as the Nasamatto original but this isn't weak juice - I get a very good performance from it and at the price available (£1 per ml V £4 per ml)I would buy this. A massive compliment getter which is unusual given how unusual a scent this is - not as polarising as I'd have imagined. For men only in my opinion and women love it.

Una fragancia muy buena, un aroma fuerte, pero en el secado más llevadero, no dura tanto para ser un extracto de fragancia, pero si sus buenas 8 horas bien y hasta 12 a ras de piel. Tener cuidado porque mancha la ropa, me parece un aroma maduro y seco, definitivamente elegante, seductor y con presencia, no es para cuaquier persona, es de esas fragancias que te hacen sentir inalcansable, así que hay que saber usarla, solo para seductores jajaja

EDIT: Funny that Some people are calling this "beast mode" and others are saying it's too weak for an Alexandria. I'm here in the middle. Comes on strong, goes away, then pops back up , here and there later on in the day/night. It's stronger than it is weaker (if that makes sense). Either way: my BEAST MODE Alexandrias are Carve On and Volcano Intense. As well as being my favorites thus far and I own 7 now.

My 7th Alexandria. I have never smelled Black Afgano. BAM ! This is a "big dark". Actually a missing link in my collection. This is more complex than most Alexandrias (so I think the creative team had to use more ingredients than they normally do). So yeah, this is a BIG, DARK, COLD niche that is super strong and will leave a "trail" . Smells like a small village that was burned to the ground by a dragon!

Anubis Kiss was my first purchase from Alexandria and let me tell you I was hooked after receiving it. The quality of this juice was on par with nasomato afghano and last for hours. I get compliments with this the ladies love it.9.5/10 for me.Alexandria pays attention to detail and the perfumer Hany is passionate about his work and it shows!

I gave my bottle to a friend and he can't smell anything either but a faint woody smell. I have 5 fragrances from Alexandria Fragrances and all perform well except Anubis Kiss.

It smells very much like the synthectic blend of Ajmal PURPLE OUDH WOOD. Nothing any groundbreaking, But like the smell.

Lasts UNTIL you wash it off! I have the white label . Does that matter ?????
