Apple Crumb

Apple Crumb is one of the most amazing scents I have ever smelt hands down. I got a travel size of this with Black Te Affair, Seven Seas and Sweet Smoke. Apple Crumb is meant to be a Parfum de Marley clone and I cannot say how close it is to it or isn't, but it lives up to the name Apple Crumb. Apple Crumb is a very spicy sweet combination. I get a ton of cinnamon and some vanilla. It has sweetness from the honey and the tonka bean. It also is resinous with the benzoin and there is a good amount of ambergris. This scent is nearly apple pie through and through. The main thing it is missing is apple and honestly, it don't need it. Apple Crumb has beast projection and longevity. Now perhaps it is the extrait formulation cheating, but it will project strong for about an hour, hour and a half with it radiating pretty good for another two to three hours. This is about the time it gets a resinous. Apple Crumb can last about 12 hours on your skin noticably. I have just gotten shy of it most times. I think once of my several wearings I did get a full 12. Wearability is where Apple Crumb will take a hit for me. I live in Arizona as most of my reviews have said. And honestly, this is a fall/winter scent. Nothing wrong with that. We all need those cozy cold weather scents, even in a desert. That said though, it just doesn't work in warmer Arizona weather. By warmer, I mean 70F (or 55/60F with humidity) or higher. If it is 60F or cooler (45/50F with humidity) or lower, this is not cloying and not too much. That said it is versatile for cold weather. I would say it is more night-time friendly than a day-time, but that don't mean you couldn't wear it in the cooler sun/cloudy days. It works fine at work (though maybe take sprays down a spray or two), works for dates, works for clubs, works dressed up, though I don't see this in casual settings. For me, this will be my holiday scent though I cannot figure out if it is better fitting for Christmas or (American) Thanksgiving. Apple Crumb was and is an instant love. The only reason I haven't bought a bottle is I just haven't needed to. I haven't worn my travel decant much, mainly because it is now spring. I got it a little too late for peak of cooler weather in AZ. It warmed up about mid February with no March cold snap. For this I rate Apple Crumb an 8.9 out of 10. It is my favorite of the Alexandria house but it is strictly a cold weather scent.

Let me start off this review by saying that Hany sent me a sample of this to review. With that being said, I am really amazed by this representation of fragrances such as Ambre Narguile as well as Oajan by Parfums De Marly. It is such a nice Cinnamon and Benzoin fragrance. Smells very expensive for how reasonably priced it is. Smells lovely off of your skin and evokes this cozyness. It puts me in a mind frame like Burberry London does. No, they do not smell similar. But, Apple Crumb brings back memories of the holidays. I really enjoy this fragrance for how it makes me feel and also for how great it smells. I will consider buying this bad boy. But, I will most likely save up for Ambre Narguile and or Oajan. Lastly, I would like to say that this is one of the best so called "clones" on the market. Thank you Hany for allowing me be able to put my nose onto this bad boy. Very nice fragrance.

I got a decant of Oajan right before I discovered Alexandria Fragrances and this scent. Now I'm not a expert in fragrances, notes, accords etc. I'm just your average fragrance guy. I can't wow you with expert opinions on the nuances of scents. But to me this smells really close to PDM. I'm sure there's subtle differences in there that I just don't pick up on. And also probably some differences in longevity and sillage. So if you're someone like me who isn't a major fragrance collector and knows all the subtle things that make up a scent, and just want something that smells good, and in the ballpark of an expensive brand, then this is for you. I also get 1 Million Prive vibes as well off of this clone. I think this smells really really good.

Smooth sweetness! The cinnamon and honey combo at the start are deliciously well blended. The combo sets the stage for what you and everyone around you are in store for. Dry down quickly brings forth a beautifully smooth and sweet vanilla/benzoin/Tonka trio. I get mostly tonka of the three. If you are a fan of any of these three, grab a sample and try it out. For me, I only get a bit of patchouli...just enough to add depth to the DNA. I get no ambergris, so I’m a bit confused how it’s rated so high. Longevity and performance are great. My wife enjoys the fragrance as well. Smells amazing on her. For me, this is an easy purchase since my wife and I can easily wear this and both really enjoy it.

I love this fragrance. I don't just like it, I love it. I have never sniffed Oajan, but this fragrance is gorgeous. The combination of honey, vanilla, tonka and cinnamon with a musk base makes this fragrance delectable. I received a very nice compliment wearing this fragrance today. The drydown is amazing and this fragrance is long-lasting. I am going to get a sample of Oajan, but for the amount of money I paid for this fragrance, it will take a lot for me to switch to Oajan, because 'Apple Crumb' is extremely nice.

As someone that owns this & genuinely could not tell apart this & the original Oajan: I genuinely believe the people that don't like this are people that have bought a full bottle of Oajan & are upset this gets basically 99% close to the original so they want to talk bad about this because since this exists there is no need to spend the full price tag on the original & they are upset other people can get the exact same scent for way cheaper & not break the bank for scented alcohol.

Stunning juice. Very crisp cinnamon with sweet hints of honey to start. The middle is a continuation of the cinnamon with vanilla sweetness and tonka bean to my nose. Moderate longevity around 6 hours on my skin with 3 hours of projection before becoming a skin scent. Very nice offering from the house. Enjoy!

Mixture of many great spicy scents. Apple Crumb is my absolute favorite out of all the Alexandria fragrances I have tried, huge apple and cinnamon blast, it is incredibly sublime and the performance is beastly. Truly close to Oajan. Alexandria has nailed the scent of PdM Oajan with Apple Crumb. You will be smelling like a freshly baked apple pie with hints of cinnamon for some Gourmand goodness! Performance is fantastic and I easily get 8+ hours on my skin and all day on clothes. This is another Alexandria banger!

Great for cold days and cozy nights. Not a good fragrance for those with sensitive noses. This is a very piercing scent that radiates sweetness and will get you noticed. Not great for young people unless they're looking for a very sweet but mature scent. And yes, this one lasts!!!

Smells identical to spice bomb extreme I’ve tested it on myself and have multiple times and had friends smell my arms to see if they could tell if it was the same cologne or two different colognes and everybody said they smelled the same or the oajan smelled a little sweeter.

Smells like apple pie/ apple crumb really. It’s a toned down less dense angels share which I appreciate because angels share can be way too heavy for me. Lasting power is ridiculously long.

Spot on, sprayed a 2018 batch of Oajan and this side by side and I could barely tell a difference except that this is way stronger than Oajan.

This smells nothing like the review descriptions on Alexandria's website. I do not get anything resembling 'apple' or gourmand. What this reminds me of is a local store called Objets d'Art. It sells exotic wooden trinkets, wooden world instruments, gemstones, incense, wind chimes, and shells. It smells like nag champa incense and wooden items that have been sitting on the shelf collecting dust. There is a sharp opening to this that I can't really pinpoint, and a powdery quality midway through wear. It never gets into gourmand or sweet territory. AT ALL. The one this this does have is excellent performance, sillage and longevity. Unfortunately, for me the scent DNA does not trump performance, in fact I want to scrub it off. EDIT: After letting it sit in my unused decants for almost year, my boyfriend found this in the bathroom closet, sprayed it on before work, kissed me goodbye, and I woke up and asked, "Are you wearing PdM Herod?" My opinion has shifted. Now after a full year of negligence, it smells like what I had hoped for: slightly smoky tobacco, boozy, cinnamon and spices, a hint of saltiness, and a sweet, woody base. Similar to Herod, but more aromatic than round. I eat my words, but I guess some fragrances smell better when they are left marinating for a while.

A bit sweet, a bit balsamic, a bit animalic, a bit mineralic even. But not overwhelmingly any of those. Nothing here that I'd say resembles apple, crumb, pie or whatever, but... I guess if I had to associate it with anything specific, you might imagine some sort of upscale hotel soap. I don't know exactly how to express this, but the impression AC gives me is something more like an old cherished olfactory memory -- indeterminate but vivid in its impression -- vs some perfume you've smelled before. Experiential and not simply a bunch of aromachemicals, if that makes any sense. I really like this. Initial spray wasn't anything special IMO, but the dry down is where the mojo is at. And it lasts. Just when you start to forget you have it on, you catch a whiff and for a split second, you wonder where the fantastic fume is coming from. And then you realize it's coming from YOU. Now that my sprayer's been around a few months, I am really starting to appreciate this find. Strong like with serious "grower" FB worthy potential.

It's good overall! Huge emphasis on honey and vanilla with a dose of syrupiness which gets about 70-75% close to Oajan. What my unit is missing personally is the loud fresh cinnamon in the original as well as that dense and full yet effervescent and airy nature that Oajan has. This does have a extremely dense nature to it with the honey and syrupy notes but doesn't feel as complete nor as airy as Oajan does. The notes of honey and vanilla do come off as much more intense than Oajan's which feel more subdued to allow the cinnamon to flourish. Still a great scent though if you like the idea of slightly ambery honey vanilla with an airy yet dense musk up top. I'd give it an 8.5 personally with Oajan being a 9.3. Hopefully with some maturation, the cinnamon can come out a bit!

I have never tried Oajan so my review is based on Apple Crumb only. To me it smells like a very boozy apple that has been left to soak in a dark spirit and has then been caramelized. On my skin the scent stays pretty much the same until it fades, although I can smell a pastry-like note in the dry down. This is definitely a wintery fragrance and it reminds me strongly of mulled wine. The first spray is potent, longevity is ok but could be better, it started fading after a couple hours tops. Although it's listed as gourmand I don't find it that sweet, which to me is a plus!

I dont know about you, but this smell really close to Spicebomb Extreme, but amped up to level 10, dont overspray, 2 sprays max. It indeed smells like a cinnamon apple crumb. Love the smell of this scent, nice and cozy for the winter, and great for the Hollidays like Christmas and New Year. I haven't smelld Oajan so I can't compare. If you like spicy, ambry sweet scents, this is a blind buy.

I haven't smelled Oajan so I can't compare. This opens very fruity sweet, like a sweet apple crumble. After 15mins you get an ambery, very sweet, honey and cinnamon scent. Very sweet and cozy scent - perfect for the winter. Longevity is 8+ hours and projection is for about 3h strong. Recommended if you like very sweet scents.

omg, I dig this a lot. The name is apt - apple pie is my closest association too. luckily patchouli and musk is not as dominant as prevous reviewers marked , all notes blend together nicely. gourmand but still smells like a perfume, if that makes sense :)

I smell almonds and heliotrope! Interestingly I don't get apple crumble, more of a dragee feel, but gorgeous nonetheless. Strong cinnamon, which I love.

I didn't like this at all. Reminds me of a religious goods store (botanica in spanish). The smell of inscence and candles burning in those stores is what I smell and was told my several people that I smell of witchcraft lol. No Apple pie here

Today i got mine 55ml, and had such big hopes for this frag to be copy of Oujan... ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE to Oujan not old batch, not new batch Boozy and heavy first hour, yet stays on skin 10plus hours projection 3-4 hours Too much honey Too much cinnamon So much you get nose blind and cant feel any other note you will mainly get honey after a while, but compared to the Oujan symphony thats not the same..

I have had a chance to work this Apple Crumb for five days now. I love it and recommend it, as I do PdM Oajan, one of my favorite scents from that house. Disclaimer, I strongly prefer heavier, complex, and often multi-faceted scents as opposed to something simple and fresh for summer time wear. It is extremely close to Oajan, at no point between opening, heart, or dry down did I notice any notes out of place, it is scary good. Excellent sillage. Now the longevity....it easily lasts ten hours plus on my skin. When I get a new scent I put one spray on a napkin, put it on top of the scent's box, and keep it on my desk until the scent dissipates. For three days I could get a slight scent when I walked by or sat down. Going into day six that napkin still smells like I put it on my skin about four hours ago. If you like Oajan, IMHO this is a blind buy in your sleep. If you are unsure of spicy sweet and/or gourmand frags then definitely sample first, always makes sense. For most people, this scent will be VERY easy to like.

It is difficult to find amber-vanilla accord perfumes that perform well. I love the discontinued Kensington Amber by Penhaligon’s which is a pretty photorealistic apple pie, but I can only find bottles on Ebay going for £165. After about 30 minutes of research I looked into similar perfumes- Ambre de Alexandrie, Ambre Narguile, Oajan, and Angel’s Share and then looked into this dupe with Alexandria Fragrances, ordering a 30 ml bottle. Looking forward to wearing this in the fall. Edit: I like how all of AF’s perfumes are Extraits so they have beast-mode projection, but longevity is still less than 1 hour. I paid £39 for my 30 ml bottle. On first spray it smelled just like Kensingon Amber’s apple pie but now it smells like hyped up cinnamon rolls without the apples. It’s definitely heavy on the cinnamon and I can tell it’s natural because it burns my skin if I spray too much! Let me tell you that I sprayed some behind my ears and thought at first that I had an allergic reaction...

The people saying this is almost unmistakable for Oajan are being honest. I got Oajan as a gift for a friend and got a sample of Apple Crumb to compare, knowing I'd have access to Oajan as much as I needed for the comparison. He and I both agreed Apple Crumb was more favorable. It had more projection and longevity, with a lower price - The only downside is that it doesn't come in that wonderful PDM bottle for shelf appeal, which is what he wants with his 6 Creeds and other crazy items in collection. But whatever, I don't care. I just want to smell absolutely amazing and Apple Crumb does it for me. BTW, PDM Oajan can be had for the $160 area so it's not like you're saving TOO much money. But I'd buy Apple Crumb over PDM no matter how much money I had. The performance matters more to me than having the "real thing."

So... is it like Oajan (I hear your thoughts)... Well, as someone who owns the original, yes it is like it. I'd say it's 85% like Oajan and that's pretty good. What's pretty bad though is that you'll pay over £50 for 55ml of this. So why is that a problem? Well, it's a problem because you can pick up 100ml of One of Those Helium 2He for £38.00 which smells 90-95% like Oajan (and Ambre Narguile for that matter) You can also pick up 125ml of Oajan (on offer) for £140.00-150.00 When you do the maths that kinda leaves Apple Crumb picking up the "value for money" runners up medal. A pat on the back to Alexandria for a valiant effort, but as far as dupes go, Helium 2He gets the win here as it smells closer to the original, and you get twice as much for less money.

Just like everyone else says when reviewing Alexandria Fragrances, you must let them sit for a few months before using. I've also noticed that shaking the bottle/decant before applying seems to help as well. I remember trying Apple Crumb about 3 months after it arrived in the mail, and it didn't smell very good. Started wearing it this winter (a year after receiving it) and not only does it smell AMAZING, but it performs all day long and into the next day! My only regret is that I got this as a free tiny sample after ordering a 7-pack of samples. Today is wear #4, I only have enough for one more wear, and it's out of stock on the website. Aww (sad face, 1st world problems).

Arrived today- in a smashed bottle :( BUT I did smell it so.... Basically, tobacco , cinnamon & apple. That's it. Fairly strong and long lasting but there is probably a Glade Air Freshener that could match this. Perhaps my mood and review have been soured by my broken bottle. Never smelled the By Kilian daddy to this scent. Hope it smells a little more nuanced. EDIT: They sent me a new bottle so I'm in a better mood now. This is nice but nothing outstanding. Longevity is good , not CRAZY. Good for work & office and fairly cozy/warming to the soul.

I find myself gravitating to this scent on a regular basis because its so comforting. Like many I dont get a big apple pie smell but I do like the inviting cinnamon, vanilla notes it gives off. Its a bit over priced imo and I am not a huge fan of the bottle. Sometimes I think the scent has vanished but then I catch a beautiful wiff after 5 or 6 hours. I am going to let it sit for another month and try it in colder weather. Either way I enjoy this and am happy to have it in my collection as it is different from my other perfumes.

Smells delicious on my wife absolutely mouth watering. Perfect autumn perfume. Woild be ideal to wear it to Thanksgiving dinner. However, I prefer more masculine fragrances with tobacco, leather and woody notes, so I don't wear this. Smelling like an apple pie is just not my kind of thing. Nonetheless this is a quality realistic smelling Gourmand, and it lasts for hours. When my wife wears it I literally crave something sweet to eat.

I get a lot of cinnamon and honey with a trace of apple from the labdanum. Gourmand-ish, but doesn't make me think of apple pie in particular. Almost makes me think of cinnamon hearts. I think i'd enjoy this if the labdanum were more amped up. Not a bad fragrance, but if you want an apple pie gourmand i don't think this will be suitable. Maybe with time it will improve.

Ohhh, you smell like a Vanilla spice latte~ Ohhh, you smell like a hot apple pie~ Ohhh, you smell like a warm gingerbread cookie...With compliments like that, no need to say much else...Except: This juice is a triple play, a walk off homerun, a hat trick, a slam dunk, a game winning field goal, a knock out punch, a perfect game..... Ummmmm Hmmmmm~

I don't get the apple pie vibe but do get a lot of cinnamon which is a note I like, especially in Autumn. Never smelled Oajan but was told that is also cinnamon heavy, so Apple Crumb is probably a solid clone. If you want an apple pie scent go for Layton or some of its best clones. Another one is Boss Bottled Intense.

Spicy cinnamon bomb! And it lasts forever. Strong at first, but the dry down is impeccable. I get that 70’s powerhouse vibe from this one (Obsession?). Just when designer was getting boring and niche was getting too expensive, along comes Alexandria fragrances. Thank you!!! 9/10

God!! this has to be one of the best they have done as an inspiration! its very similar to oajan but I prefer thus one, the drydown is whats best about this fragrance for me, honey swwetened by vanilla with cinnamon in the background to give it a little kick. love it! 9/10

The osmanthmus gives the impression of fruit in this one. The vanilla rounds it all up. The patchouli is not a star player. This scent is a tempting Apple Cinnamon Tobacco and I love it! Just ordered a travel spray so I can have this yummy fragrance where ever I may roam.

I get the feeling of a postpartum mother securely and sweetly nuzzling with her newborn with this scent. It's elegant and sophisticated yet somehow familiar and close to home cozy. Very good stuff!

I don't get apple pie. I get a cinnamon bomb, which is what I get with Oajan. This is a great clone and lasts longer on me than Oajan.

Not 1 to 1 compared to oajan, though a beautiful, cheaper twist. Worth the price. I'm happy with it😊
