Cacao Dreams

OOOOOOOHHHHH, GOD THIS IS GOOD. This isn't just a chocolate scent, there's some other stuff going on in the fringes, dipping in and out of the chocolate, like fruits on a stick being twisted and drizzled with liquid chocolate in the stream from one of those fountains I've only ever used on one occasion; I felt like I'd died and gone to heaven. I've read through the comments here about some other chocolate fragrances. I have Montale Chocolate Greedy, Al-Rehab Choco Musk, Body Shop Choco Mania, 4160T Silk, Lace and Chocolate, Haught's Chocolate Wasted, Chocolate Ganache, Missoni Gianduia, and Angel Taste of Fragrance. I think that's all of them...(?) Suffice to say, I love chocolate - I love eating it, smelling it and smelling OF it. Cacao Dreams starts off with a BURST of rich chocolate, then starts to dry down. I am getting a hint of citrus and something which smells almost like a powdery rose, like rose petals preserved and crystallised in sugar. I know what it is! It's Fry's Turkish Delight! THAT'S what Cacao Dreams reminds me of; the lightly scented taste/smell of Turkish Delight, encased in a rich chocolate coat. Further into the drydown, I am getting little hints of citric booze. Not sure which it is: Grand Marnier? I think I may have died and gone to heaven. Or am I lost in the Matrix? I don't know, don't care and... Excuse me. I have to go gnaw off my own arm.

This is the fragrance that made me realize that I was a gourmand lover. It might sound strange but this is my favorite, period. Black Phantom often fights for the number one spot and I reach for dark knight when I want to save some sprays. I get a rich chocolate and a sweet citrus that’s somewhere between orange and mandarin. For me this is a 10/10. In fact it started a phase where I purchased Alexandria fragrances over designer and niche (that’s over now as I’ve become more inclined to try some of the more renowned brands. I believe the quality speaks for itself. Most people who have quality issues they either dislike the profile or it is bad chemistry. To each his own, I think it’s a blessing that we can have such different takes on different fragrances. The quality in this juice cannot be denied if you ask me. Originality: 8/10 Scent: 10/10 Projection: 10/10 (I get 5 good hours of 6 feet and then a few hours of arms length and even longer as a skin scent Sillage: 10/10 (See projection) Longevity: 10/10 Versatility: 5/10 This is a date night or self comforting fragrance. It can be very alluring and garner unsolicited compliments and attention. I wouldn’t wear it to work.

A LOVE Great release! Is it only me, or does anyone else sense orange (or similar), especially in the opening? I can't pinpoint other notes than chocolate, chocolate, chocolate and orange. Maybe a hint of vanilla, maybe sandalwood in the drydown, I don't know... I just had it yesterday, so not sure as to how much I love it yet. But, it's good, that's for sure :-) EDITS 1: I've had it for a week now: I LOVE IT!! This is chocolate gourmand at its best, truly unisex and without vulgar sweetness. 2: Ohh, I can see someone else mentions orange in the opening! Well, then that's settled, it seems to have an orange note in the top ;-) 3: If you like Chocolate Dreams, then you should also check out ''Chocolate Makes Me Happy'' by Unique'e Luxury and ''Musc Maori 04'' by Pierre Guillaume. They are both fantastic, I think. I have also tested ''Chocolate Greedy'' by Montale, which is OK, and ''Lait et Chocolat'' by Chabaud, which I have to say is not my cup of cacao... I love "Chocolate, Rose & Oud" by Aaron Terence Hughes too, but it is retired, sadly...

I have owned this fragrance for about 1 year. Overall, this is a very good fragrance. However, I purchased this fragrance looking for something similar to Montale's Chocolate Greedy. I knew before I purchased that Cacao Dreams was an original creation. However, I was hopeful that it would be similar, or better, than Chocolate Greedy. Honestly, I prefer Chocolate Greedy to Cacao Dreams. Chocolate Greedy is a darker fragrance that is heavier and stronger performing that Cacao Dreams. With that said, I do love this fragrance. It is slightly on the feminine side. This limits how much I wear the fragrance, and the opening is more feminine than the dry down. But the fragrance smells almost edible. It does not suffer in performance, sillage, and projection are great. Your co-workers and significant other will thank you for smelling like warm brownies all day!

Ok..... I'm a HUGE fan of the Alexandria house but.... as good as this smells, it's simply too rich.... in the beginning. There are some citruses at the top of this fragrance that makes it superb smell wise but I have to spray it 30 minutes before I step out the house because like I said before.... it's VERY rich. Guess I should've figured a chocolate fragrance from a superb house like Alexandria should be rich lol. Over four sprays of this and you will have the whole place smelling like Lebron just clapped hot cocoa powder all over the place. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 10/10 Projection: 9/10 Compliments: 9/10 Versatility: 7/10

Received this a couple days ago and gave it at least 2 full wears before this review. Everything about this fragrance is amazingly pleasant. The atomizer is great, the scent is great but linear. It doesn’t change at all throughout the life of the scent from beginning to end. I get a nice chocolate and vanilla. About 2-3 hours of projection and then it begins to sit closer to the skin. Even though it’s an extract concentration it doesn’t come off as strong or overbearing. Well worth the money in my opinion. Will def check out other fragrances from this house in the future.

This is yummy! Edible!I do get some orange and a drop of vanilla with the chocolate, just enough to break the cacao, to lighten it up! There is a common ground with chocolate greedy by montale but very very briefly initially, but whereas I am not a fan of chocolate greedy ( I find it heavy, OTT in the quality and quantity of its chocolate usage) ..this one I love! As time progresses it loses more of the chocolate and gains on the vanilla note. It gets lots of compliments which confirms its excellent sillage, and lasts a long while. Not complex, but a sheer delight!

Full disclosure; I am an AF fanboy. Of their two chocolate heavy scents I much prefer Chocolate Dreams. That being said, this is a delectable treat of a scent. This is a fragrance that WILL get you noticed. You will smell like a dessert and I guarantee that sooner or later someone with say that you smell good enough to eat. Only thing that disappointed me is that this has what I interpret as a big dose of vanilla which disappointed me as I was looking for a straightforward chocolate scent. %98

Are there more than 1 note? I am sure there is but the perfumer is reluctant to give up that info as stated in the description. I think it has some orange and bourbon vanilla notes but who knows. This is gourmand heaven without being cloying and over the top sweet. It's also not powdery like let's say Chocolate Man by Dame. The performance is out of this world! For the first 5 or 6 hours you get a nice scent bubble and then it lingers on for a few more hours. 100% unisex.

I have a sample of cacao dreams prive and I can say that it's verry smooth sweet and creamy from the opinion to its drydowm the opening is like this creamy milky almond cacao puffs which is so gourmamdish. .... the vanilla is there but only becomes prominant in the drydown mix with the almond and the cacao puffs part is still there but not in a heavy way this is better than the original get it while you can stunning delicious milky almondy chocolade gourmand

This literally smells like a Tootsie Roll and I love it! It’s a gourmand kind of sweet, edible, orange chocolate, and vanilla fragrance. I do wish it lasted longer on the skin. After about 4 hours, it fades into straight skin scent. I’ve gotten quite a few compliments on it and I find it very cozy. I do recommend this if you’re into smelling like straight Tootsie Roll. I personally really love it. Solid 8.5/10

This is a very good gourmand fragrance. Opens up with a burst of cacao and caramel. Dries down to a smooth chocolatey vanilla. On my skin, this does project well and is quite long lasting. 100% greedy, makes you want to sneeze at the first draft as if I were opening a bag of chocolate powder. But hey it's not dark chocolate as I hoped, on the bottle it's marked: "cacao vanilla caramel" It still turns out to be very pleasant. Attention this is a small personal pleasure, it is a smell of food more than a real perfume. No rating.

This is a beautiful gourmand. It's simple, but if you want to smell like chocolate (and not like cocoa puffs, or baked goods), this is the one. There's a fleeting hint of orange in there, along with the chocolates and vanilla. It's about as grown-up as a chocolate gourmand fragrance is going to get, and it's a delight to sniff on yourself.

This is an incredible fragrance. It is a powdery chocolate scent that projects and lasts. I don't know how long it lasts on me because I'm usually showering 6 hours later. I do know after hot sweaty dancing, this is still going strong... it's almost a bad thing when my still wet shirt smells yummy a day later.

I get a powdery chocolate cocoa type of vibe, kind of like that old school Pottery chocolate you mix with your milk but in the best way possible... This is love at first sniff. This is a 9 out of 10 for me, love it

This is a delicious smelling chocolate gourmand fragrance. It has really good performance. I'd say the only downside to this perfume is it's lack of versatility. Other than that, I give it two thumbs up.

Agree with the previous poster. I prefer Chocolate Greedy as well. This still smells good thought. It smells like tootsie rolls to me while the Montale smells like chocolate puff cereal with milk.

Absolutely amazing! This one is sure to be top out of many Alexandria signatures, a very unique and satisfying fragrance! The dry down is a like hot cocoa in a cup with marshmallows! Yummy!

This smell delicious almost edible. Ill have to say silllage is pretty moderate on me and then sits close to the skin after 5 hours . It is pretty long lasting.

Hands down the best Goremand I’ve smelled. Imagine Angels Share but with an orange note. Incredible stuff, full bottle worthy

Its a slightly spicy chocolate. I've not smelled anything like it. It's pretty good. End of review.

This is basically Terry's Orange Chocolate in perfume form - so delicious!

This is a very delicious perfume! I would say it's half Xerjoff-Lira and half Hugo Boss-The Scent for Her Private Accord. I absolutely love Lira, but The Scent for Her is a bit too strong for me, so this one from Alexandria Fragrances is very nice alternative if the Hugo Boss one is too much for you! However, this is not a true gourmand perfume, like Lira. It still has that perfume-y smell to it.

So I wanted some gourmand, but this one is literally a tootsie roll...and that's it. Not a lot of depth. It's an extrait so it lasts awhile. The biggest issues is that it strikes me as more feminine and difficult to figure out when to wear this. So if tootsie rolls are your jam, go for it. For my subjectivity, I give this one a 6 out of 10.

This is somewhere between Dua’s Belgian Choco Truffle and CSP’s Amour de Cacao. All three fragrances are beautiful, but all three are a waste of money considering their serious lack of longevity and projection. I won’t buy this again because there’s just no power.

Do you remember those orange shaped balls of chocolate? This is what I imagined they should smell like. I wasn't able to pick up on anything else besides a sharp orange in the opening notes then chocolate in the base and top notes but, it's a beautiful perfume.

Pure chocolate. This is actually the first perfume with notes of chocolate that actually smells like chocolate, usually it just smells rough and chemical to my nose. Deep, rich and decadent but too sweet for me I feel. Will probably finish my sample though!

Took me a while to buy this scent because I was unsure about this house. Long story short bought the fragrance and I enjoy it a lot, and everyone I show find it extremely enjoyable as well. Very strong fragrance only needs about 2-3 sprays.

This smells exactly like a tootsie roll. I just bought a bag of them for the first time in forever and could not believe how much like they smell like this fragrance. Pure Heaven!

Smells like an orange tootsie roll pop. It's real strong on me, so I wore it during the fall. Usually I'm an over sprayer but I didnt want to attempt it with this one.

Much prefer this to chocolate greedy, which is more milky and biscuit wereas cocao dreams is more chocolatey! its very nice and addictive. good release!!! 7.5/10 SOTD

My nose only detect chocolate and orange peel, that's it. Very linear from beginning until the end.

This one just doesn't work for me. The scent is pleasant enough, so no real issues there but the performance brings it down a few notches. I get around 1 hour low/moderate projection, and around 3-4 more hours of it being an entirely skin scent before it disappears. For this price point that's not acceptable. Also I personally get more licorice than I do cacao. So for all these reasons, again pleasant scent or not, it ranks low for me. Alexandria fragrances has many winners, this one isn't one of them. To my nose this smells very similar to Acqua Di Palma's Mandorlo di sicilia. Edit: They sent me a sample of cacao dreams intense with another order, and honestly I prefer the intense version. It's stronger and projects more, but it's not as chocolatey as the original. I'm not a huge fan of too much chocolate in my fragrances so it might just be personal preference thing, but I would say sample both. To my nose however and for my style I prefer the intense, but it might lean slightly feminine with a pronounced "purple" smell.

Edit: 5/1/2023 will trade this. Message me, or sell for cheaper than retail. I got this as a blind buy, really don’t care for it. There is a waxy/plastic kind of cheapness associated with tootsie rolls that really make this not pleasant to me. I wanted to like it but just really don’t. It’s so one dimensional, that it is really great for layering though. I’ve never layered scents, ever. But with this one it just adds to what this fragrance is lacking. Layered with YSL La nuit d l’homme smells great. On it’s own, really not for me. Got a sample of Dark Knight with this though, and Dark Knight is my favorite scent of all time. So I am happy to have taken a chance on this to find dark knight. DK is better than what it’s copying and I tested side by side. This one is a 6/10 for me. Maybe less. Really lacking so don’t go for the big bottle like me unless you know what you’re getting into. Big let down with this one. Alexandria has some real bangers though, so don’t be discouraged.

This is like a citrusy tootsie roll. But the citrus is boosted on my skin and also never left. It was bad. I gave it to a friend and I am happy that she is really enjoying it, so much so she said she would purchase again. Try it first if your skin brings out citrus, I have learned I don’t like any citrus with chocolate in perfume.

Not the best Alexandria'a creation: very synthetic and too cloying to my nose. I am not a big fan of Mancera but this reminded me of Choco Violet which is better and cheaper. Sorry, Alexandria. When you nail it, you nail it. This one isn't it :(

The nice orange chocolate opening turns weird on me in the dry down.

This is a review on Cacao Dreams Prive. Very sweet, almost sickeningly sweet chocolate vanilla which quickly dries down to a barely there vanilla. I don't hate it but not impressed and will probably end up layering it. Packaging is super cute though and I did get this at a reduced price so I'm not mad. The search for a good chocolate scent continues. Update. Far too sickly.

Terrific, luscious and very addicting chocolate based perfume. It took me a week of full wearings to observe how my skin would feel with this fragrance. First, I do not see it's full similarity with other choco based scents. Cacao Dreams is a simple smell but not linear. I did notice a light transformation which is good. So to my nose, the initial burst is alcohol and chocolate powder smell. It may cause you to sneeze if you sniff it right after spraying. Imagine sniffing a chocolate powder straight from its can and you accidentally shake it. The essence causes me to sneeze or almost. A few minutes after spraying I smell a straightforward creamy chocolate aroma added with a soft orange and a very faint floral nuance. Citrus and floral notes are not in the list but I detected hints of them. The projection is above average for an hour. I was noticed from 10 feet away, top to heart. People around me commented positively; that it's attractively sweet, creamy and vanillic or chocolatey. I thought I smelled dark chocolate but I was wrong. It is a creamy gourmand. After an hour, the scent exuded just a little hint of a "sweat-like" aroma going along with the chocolate smell. The soft citrus maintained its hold while the floral nuance quickly losing it's touch. The projection and sillage are closing out by the 2nd hour. The dry down shifted faster than most perfumes. Due to it's shortcoming in projection and sillage, I thought this is merely an Eau de Cologne just like the captivating, vanilla based Les Couvent des Minimes, Cologne de Missions. But the best part of this fragrance is it's performance over dry down. Once it becomes close to skin, it sticks, held and never quit. The base lasted 8 hours on my skin. The quiet and awesome choco scent last days on my shirt. It will leave a sexy statement on intimate moments/close quarter department. I received many compliments. A female friend said; like an expensive smell of high quality creamy chocolate. A lady teacher friend praised and thought I was wearing Angel Taste of Fragrance. A couple I know even asked me (the wife) where she can purchase this and that her husband should wear it. That is truly an unsolicited scent praise. Plus more great feedback even from men. Cacao Dreams will be a hit to wear on parties, dates, dining, casual (even work) settings and colder seasons. It is kinda like a "unisex" version or a softer Aquolina Pink Sugar minus the mallows. Less nutty and more refined than the expensive Aquolina Chocolovers. More creamy and people pleasing than the great hard to find, Dark Extacy by La Perla. Cacao Dreams is purely, a sweet sensation and a "temptation" in a bottle. Bravo to you, Alexandria Fragrances.

Huh. So, Terry's Orange is pretty accurate. It's very rich, very sweet, and very chocolate. But there's no way it's just cacao in there, because there is this huge initial blast of citrus that never quite fades away. It's nice though. I wanted a chocolate perfume which was heavy on the chocolate (yes, I am a monster...the worst kind of gourmand fiend). It does the job and I can see it growing on me. I didn't expect all that citrus though. Also, I bought it in the vain hope of layering a choco note with a very bitter single-note coffee fragrance I have in the hope of making a mocha-type scent... that's a nope on that one. It became...weird. Kind of autumnal and hallowe'eny? Not brilliant but addictive to sniff compulsively. Mixed with this coffee note it is - 1) a huge, cosmically huge honk of black liquorice 2) black liquorice sweets and cocoa powder, like the inside of a trick or treat candy bag 3) screaming orange. Then it dries down to coffee and liquorice and orange with an afterthought of hot cocoa powder. Weird. I didn't hate it, but I wouldn't want to smell like it and won't mix them again. I wish I knew why the coffee + cocoa became liquorice though, or why the coffee seemed to make that citrus scream all the louder...? But wow, that was an experience. All in all, it's not what I was looking for, I don't think the notes are "just chocolate"... but it's nice. It's not a layering scent imho but it's also not complex, but if I'm honest, it does smell just like a chocolate orange and on that front I absolutely can't complain. It's a nice, sweet treat. And for that, it's fine.

This was a strange one from AF. The opening as always so important to me was sort of promising for the very 1st minute from the spray on my skin on left hand. Rich, milk chocolate. The bubble it produces is nice. Not 'Nestle'; it is slightly better Quality. But sadly, it is also accompanied by the orange people are mentioning and a 'spiced biscuit' note. That may sound delicious for some (and may well be if they try it) but on me, it's more of a 'peppered wafer', as odd as that sounds. It also has that ''steamy'' effect; billowing thick cloud that can get very cloying, very fast; and the sweetness is more 'tangible powdery' than a syrupy hit of sucrose that is more 'absorbable'. Pressing my nose against my hand. From a distance however, that odd spiced theme is much reduced and the rich steamy milk chocolate dominates. I wanted to like it, and the quality is better than what I expected (was thinking maybe indie level) so that is a big plus. But all in all, I'll have to give the (narrow) win to the already established Chocolate Greedy by Montale. That has a bit more going on in terms of dried fruits, and the chocolate is more intense. I would have wished for more vanilla, other sweet notes in the dry-down or some other nice surprise here. So not bad but I'll be passing on this one and trying the other one soon 'Chocolate Dream'. I'll be very generous with the rating on this one though as the Quality is good My rating: 6/10 Quality: 8/10

My disappointment in Hany and his choice of perfume bottles is real. I purchased Zion and Cacao Dreams in 2018 and my hubby really liked Zion. He used it a few times, but then focused on something else (his fume wardrobe is large). After about a year, he went to put some Zion on, and the bottle was empty. Almost the entire bottle evaporated into thin air. I decided to check on my Cacao Dreams, which i sprayed 2-3 times in total, and sure enough, it was empty. I ended up emailing Hany and he sent us Zion and Caco Dreams in what appeared to be a "new packaging". This was in 2021. Just today, my husband remembered Zion, wanted to use it, and there is about 15% left out of the full bottle he received in 2021. I also found out that my replacement bottle of Cacao Dreams is about 10% full, and what is left is dark brown and not sprayable.I am glad i never invested in more bottles of Alexandria fragrances, this is super disappointing. It seems that Hany chose the cheapest bottles he could find on the market. This is not how you do business.

Chocolate greedy is definitely similar to this (the chocolate-orange accords in particular), although I prefer this. I feel that this however lacks the overt coffee/cracker note that I described for Greedy. Vanilla is definitely present. It's difficult to make light chocolate without vanilla in real chocolate, and perfumes seem to follow this. White florals (jasmine?) are also present, though appear to diminish. Funnily enough, as I write this, it has dried down to something that could be considered cracker-like. It's almost spicy, though. I thought I had on a previous wear perceived some of Alexandrias Oud in this, which someone else described as a "sweaty" note, but it is absent as I write this. Or perhaps that is the "spicy cracker" note that I am percieving. Or maybe it's just sandalwood? Dries down within circa two hours, lingers pleasantly on skin for longer. I'd reccomend this. It's a sweet gourmand, almost a bit on the feminine side of unisex, bu mostly unisex.

This thing is a beast! I have 2 sample sets for over 2 years and I thought I give Alexandria a try. Opening is Hershey's chocolate powder with spice. One spray on my wrist and it lasted more than 18 hours. No joke. I also sprayed London Destination on my other arm but it faded away within the 5 hour mark. The pear note is great but it was soft and didn't last. In the dry down of CD is straight up sweet and warm chocolatey vanilla. I just can't believe how I can still get a smell CD well over the next day. Keep in mind, I didn't wash my hand or shower throughout the time. Probably not going to get a bottle because I think it's a little feminine for me. But London Destination is definitely more wearable for a guy.

A lovely gourmand fragrance! I would wear it, but I can't, because my wife claimed my bottle for her own summer scent. I guess I'll have to find something else. There are notes of chocolate, vanilla, bergamot/lime, and probably some benzoin. It's almost a key lime pie accord, especially when the sandalwood note starts to present itself like a graham cracker crumble. The projection and longevity are incredible. My wife puts this on and I can tell you exactly which rooms in the house she's been in, because the scent lingers. We've sat outside in the breeze, sitting 15 feet apart, and I can still smell it. Delicious! Just go easy on the trigger because a little goes a long, long way!

Cacao Dreams is a must have fragrance from Alexandria. This is an awesome fragrance, one of my favorites. Everytime I wear Cacao Dreams my wife gets that look in her eye like she's going to tackle me. Its absolutley irresistible to the opposite sex. I get 4 compliments every single time I wear it. Longevity is tremendous on this fragrance I get 8-10 hours every single time I wear it. If I spray this on my clothes I can smell a hint of it on them even after it's been through the wash. That's insane. I love this fragrance so much I actually ordered 2 bottles after I ran out of my sample. This is an absolute homerun from Hany.

I just got a sample of this alongside gourmand kiss fructus virgin and my 30 ml dark knight fragrances... i spray cacao dreams on a test strip and it was simply stunning....i got somthing like a citrusy orange at first ...along side a milky chocolade but the orange dies off later on and the chocolade becomes dominant with hints of vanilla and a litle orange as wel ....i really love this amazing gourmand....defenitly in my top 8 best smelling alexandria fragrances.....

My super tiny free sample decant says "Chocolate Dream", but I had both this and "Cacao Dreams". Either Fragrantica has them reversed, or Alexandria Fragrances put the wrong labels on them. This smells like hot chocolate. This does NOT have any other notes. This is also AWESOME. Do yourself a favor...layer this with Kryptomint and go STH (Straight to Heaven, or Straight to Hell if you're into METAL🤘)
