Chocolate Dream

Alexandria has two of the best, highest quality vanilla perfumes out there for the price: Chocolate Dream (inspired by Lira) and H'ani (inspired by Ani). Yes, they're dupes, but a much better 'bang for your buck' and arguably better performance based on reviews of the originals [Lira] or reformulations [Ani]). So Chocolate dream/dupe of Lira: gorgeous bordering on aromatic orange-y, caramel-y chocolate vanilla that is very gourmand, vanilla-centric, and did I mention gorgeous? Dry down is ridiculously good, just keeps delving deeper and deeper into this complex vanilla accentuated by the other notes that you truly have to experience to understand. It's difficult to explain. Truly beautiful, like fresh snow falling on a winter morning....but vanilla. It's really a whole vibe. Go get you a sample. Multiple other reviews call this a lemon pound cake scent, but my experience with lemon pound cake is that it's usually a little dry and lemon-focused, whereas Alexandria's Chocolate Dream is effortlessly creamy til the end and vanilla-focused. Chocolate dream somehow manages to be light, fresh, but creamy at the same time. And it's definitely orange you're smelling, not as much lemon to my nose, but again it blends in beautifully to give off a creamified (yes, made up word) lemon pound cake type of vibe overall if you get what I'm saying. The citrus is never overly dominant on skin, beautiful from start to finish. Different experience on clothes (citrus is stronger at beginning for me on clothes); I think this one is definitely meant to be sprayed on the skin directly. I can smell it all day if I spray on my neck/chest and it rubs off just a little on clothes. Can still smell 48hrs later on clothes as well, so um. Not bad. Compared to H'ani, which is also a citrus vanilla, Lira is a little 'cooler' in vibe, still creamy, fresher than H'ani, but vanilla is at her heart. H'ani, on the other hand is a warmer, spicier, almost musky citrus/ginger vanilla with vanilla prominent in the dry down as well, but a totally different vanilla there. Both are LOVESx1000000000 for me. Seriously. I will never be without these in the fall/winter. Please never stop making this. (or H'ani). Omg.

I am not going to repeat much of what other people are saying. Ignoring the fact that they explicitly state that it is inspired by Lira, it very much smells mostly like it. I am comparing a bottle of this that I bought a few years ago compared to a sample of Lira also from a few years ago. The opening is where the largest difference is as the blood orange is the most noticeable note. Lira is more airy, light, and smooth throughout the evolution of the fragrance whereas Chocolate Dream is a tad darker, spicier, and, as I like to describe it, "crunchier" (mostly due to the more prominent blood orange note). I get a good amount of compliments when wearing this fragrance (I used this as a signature scent for quite a long time), but I definitely wouldn't say it is an exact replica. During the dry-down, they become a lot harder to distinguish between the two. If not comparing them side by side, most people won't notice the difference but I think that Chocolate Dream suits my preferences better. Unfortunately, I can't help but want Lira instead due to its legendary status amongst gourmands and also because of it being the inspiration for this fragrance.

I love Chocolate Dream soooo much from start to finish. The sillage/strength of it is not overwhelming at all. One spritz is a noticeable but understated presence. I smell expensive and luxurious. I got a sampler pack and I am so glad I chose Chocolate Dream! It reminds me of creamy pistachio kulfi dessert but with orange flavor. I do detect subtle bits of chocolate, but I mostly have a spicy orange delight. Not sure if this has lavender like its inspiration, but this Alexandria fragrance is amazing as is. Lavender can be too herbal/soapy, but this is great. I suppose it is unisex but it feels pretty enough for someone ultra feminine like myself. It does not smell like Aquolina Pink Sugar to me at all (someone suggested the original does?).

So insanely good. Amazing silage and longevity, with an unreal smooth caramel/vanilla wrapped in citrus. Almost smelling the crust of a lemon square dessert. Just divine. Also I wear this as a guy, it is admittedly a bit feminine, but who cares when I smell this delicious. Comparing to Lira, this is way more chocolate and less fruit. The performance is through the roof, but it isn't a perfect clone compared to something like AF's Italian Caramel which literally made me sell my Italica. This I will keep the decant of, but won't be giving up Lira anytime soon.

Nice and sweet, Same type as the blue discontinued Lempika and the infamous Lira. Chocolate Dream is a must try for gourmand lovers looking at the Alexandria sample collections. It's a bit similar to his Alexandria signature scent, I actually like Alex signature better at the top , it's more citrus at the top, And I like this one better at the bottom, So you could easily layer them, That's why it's a idea to try them both and see witch one works best for you, they are similar but not the same.

This is one of those fragrances that has received near universal love when I've worn it. The two notes I get first are Chocolate and Blood Orange. It is a very well balanced fragrance that will get you noticed. The original Lira by Xerjoff was released as a female scent but this can be worn equally well by both sexes. I've been wearing it for 2 hours and it's still as strong as when I sprayed it.

This is Alexandria’s version of Xerjoff Lira and it is a sweet, sweet chocolate-caramel bomb! It isn’t a strong overpowering frangrance but to someone that gets in close to you, they will have to restrain themselves from trying to take a bite out of you! This one is really good for a quiet evening by the fire or a romantic candle-lit dinner.

This is amazingly similar to Xerjoff Lira. I own a decant of the original and have almost finished my third bottle of Chocolate Dream. The Alexandria version is stronger, with impressive longevity and sillage. Citrus and lavender in a comforting cloud of vanilla. Beautiful.

I haven't worn this for quite some time, so when I sprayed it this morning, I was reminded how good this is!! A very good dupe for Lira!!

I purchased Chocolate Dreams after owning Cacao Dreams for nearly a year. I had high hopes for Chocolate Dreams. I was hoping for a seductive, milk chocolate vibe. Something different than the Nestle vibe that get from Montale's Chocolate Greedy or Cacao Dreams. It definitely is a different take on chocolate. I don't believe that it is milk chocolate, but it is delectably sweet and seductive. To me this was a very good summer scent. The base notes reminded me of Hawaii Volcano (Creed's Virgin Island Water) with a Chocolate tone poured over the top. My wife absolutely loved the fragrance, and she wore it on many occasions. However, we both did not enjoy the performance. The projection is a skin scent. Longevity is decent, but, again, only detectable on the skin. I tend to prefer strong, loud fragrances, and so I removed Chocolate Dreams from my collection. I found the performance to very similar to Hawaii Volcano. If your a fan of lighter fragrances, you will be hard pressed to find a more beautiful smelling fragrance that Chocolate Dreams.

I recently fell in love with a sample of Xerjoff’s Lira but can’t swing the cost right now so was excited to try this dupe. I put the Lira sample on one hand and a sample of this on the other and there are very subtle differences when comparing the two. I get less citrus in the opening of Chocolate Dream and Lira feels overall smoother and well-rounded. A bit later I wore Chocolate Dream without the Lira sample to compare to, and I will say, in that moment I was taken back to when I fell in love with Lira. I could not distinguish the difference in my memory. I think unless you are comparing the two head to head, you will not notice the difference. I did feel the sillage was much lower than the original and longevity slightly less, but for the cost you are more able to overspray. All in all, I will hold out on the original at least until next year and am happy with Chocolate Dreams. (I had the exact feelings towards the Tobacco Vanille dupe, Sweet Smoke, as well)

Sophisticated and understated gourmand. Very much like the OG...it is fantastic! Do not allow the name to fool you, this is sooo much more than chocolate. More of a subtle smooth citrus vanilla...almost lemon pound cake...in the best way ever. Longevity is OK...I actually think the OG last longer. Projection is average as well. For the price, you get what you pay for. Overall, this is extremely nice. I recommend getting a sample of this and the OG. It’s always fun testing both the original and its clone.

Very similar but not 100%. It smells more lemony in the opening. But I'd say they're 90%. Its missing the lemon vanilla icing that coats your throat. The dry down gets closer but still, this lacks that vanilla icing comorting aspect. it did last way longer, project really well and that if you smelled it in passing youd think it was lira. As a stand alone I'd definitely say it's a good fragrance.

Never smelled Lira. Starts very sweet and citrusy. After a while, citrus completely goes away. Instead, a very nice and comforting powdery scent, almost cocoa-like (maybe the vanilla with cinnamon?). Sillage is average, but longevity very good.

NO NO & NO! This is slightly chocolatey scented water, gone in 5 minutes! I have a video going up tmoro about this & the VIW one that is RANCID AF. Do NOT!! I own Montale's Chocolate Greedy, Al Rehab Choco Musk, Aquolina's Chocolate Lovers, CRAVE Chocolate Oil, & Demeter's Dark Chocolate. ALL of these are wonderful, I am a die HARD Choco perfume lover. Their Clone is not worth a $5 body spray on sale somewhere. THIS is going right back!!!! OH, & as for the person that wrote performance is like their Hawaii Volcano, VIW dupe, apparently they don't have a consistant recipe for their formulas. The other one I bought was that one, It's the strongest, most horrid, worse than nail polish remover scent I have ever smelled. NOTHING like VIW, I HAVE that one! I scrubbed that mess off & could STILL smell it all night I kept having to spray over it w/ other things, it was nauseating me so badly. Those of you that know me, KNOW I know my scents, I have Vivid scent memory & the nose of a hound dog. NOT worth the gamble & if what was written before is true, they are just throwing stuff together anyway. I wish we had smellovision so you could smell this Hawaii Volcano. NO resemblance to VIW in the least. OMG! I am in shock, really!

Everything has been said xerjoff lira lempicka. Insane good! Zesty orange and sugar cookie subtly gingery maybe. Absolutely delicious sophisticated gourmand. I'm keeping and using this decant for myself! Not sure why it's called chocolate dream though..no chocolate detected!
