Citron del Mar

I avoided sampling this for a long time because I saw "marine notes" , and I don't like aquatics. But what I think I've come to find out is I don't like "blue" fragrances, and some aquatics are blue fragrances? But not this in my opinion. This is salty, I love it, I ended up picking up a 55ml. I can smell the melon but it's not as sweet as I was expecting which I like, I was worried this would be a fruity blue/aquatic, but it's not. The citruses used here really make the salt stand out, it feels briney, tart but smoothed out from the melon. This is not a huge projector, but it is very long lasting especially on clothes, I'm smelling it wearing a sweatshirt I sprayed it on 13 hours ago, and it still projects enough that I smell it without having to put my nose where it was sprayed. I'd say for the first 3-4 hours it does project within an arms length and may come in, but never becomes a skin scent there's always a small bubble of it around where I can smell it with every inhale. It definitely radiates more if you heat up and move around alot. Overall I'm very happy with the longevity and sillage of this one. I do typically spray quite a bit, on skin and clothes usually 10-15 sprays, so if you're only spraying a couple sprays on skin this may be why some people say it's not long lasting or projects poorly. I find this great to layer over things to add a zip of tart sea salt, especially over green fragrances. This works wonderfully layered over l'invasion (Alexandria's clone of mdci invasion barbare). Overall I was pleasantly surprised and like this one alot, I find myself smelling this just thinking about it when I'm not wearing it. Interesting how that works, like if you imagine biting into a lemon and your tounge tingles. I find myself wanting to wear this in the warm weather a lot. Especially because it's not a sweet/fruity, sweet/citrus or blue/marine summer scent, but it's more of a salty/tart citrus/fresh and clean scent that works great in warm weather.

Citron del Mar is simply 100% worthy of a full bottle if you like Millesime Imperial by Creed. It is a tiny bit sweeter, a little less salty and slightly more powdery compared to originator, it is also more on a linear side, but that could be a good thing, if you love MI because of the musky, fruity mixture. Just like with my multiple batches of Millesime Imperial; this one really doesn't last long unless you drench yourself. The smell is pretty good of course tho it's almost strictly a daytime beachy scent. Worth buying but I strongly suggest buying the original (have fun finding your favorite batch).

The sample I have is a bit muskier than Creed MI but it compares favorably in all other respects. Several reviewers are unhappy with the projection/longevity, but since CdM is currently 3x cheaper than MI, feel free to apply a few extra sprays to get the sillage you want. A winner.

As of this moment this fragrance may have to grow on me. I will say that Hanny did an excellent job cloning a niche fragrance this time creed MI they smell pretty much the same I also smelled MI at my local von maur. But the thing is for me just like MI this fragrance does not blow me away it’s not for me I don’t think. But this has a reputation to be a fragrance women absolutely love but personally if we are staying on creed here I would rather have Royal Water or Neroli Sauvage or Virgin Island Water over MI. The point is if you don’t want to spend all the money on MI by Creed Citron Del Mar is an amazing alternative. (Side note another popular alternative is Rush of Unicorns by Parfums Vintage but I haven’t smelled that one)

Very good interpretation of OG. Opens with that great salty melon fruitiness that is MI. Dries down to nice powdery musk. For duping Creed’s MI...it’s one of the best. Projection is average as is the longevity. Problem is I have a hard time paying $40 for an oz when it only last 4/5 hours. I have a hard time wearing any fragrance that doesn’t get me close to a full work day. Overall, it’s better than others...Sean John, Ed Hardy, etc. etc. However, when I can buy one of those in a 3.4 oz for less, and get the same longevity...hard pressed to buy this. If this one lasted 6/7 hours...easily a no-brainer. As always, get a sample to get your own opinion.

I didnt bother to speak on this 1 even though Millesime imperial is my fav frag. in mid 2019 is when i got my sample of citron del mar and it was a mess.i never touched it again. So im revisiting my vault in 2020 and reached for this, gave it a shake and sprayed it on my hand.....omfg, is this Millesime Imperial? at the top I get a touch of that beautiful sparkling salty melon, ,,,the drydown reveals its not creed. i also have the 2 unicorn frags which smells nice also but none of these comes close. With that said, this doesnt achieve what i want so purchasing MI is the only option.

Best MI clone I've tried, and very reasonably priced.

Was quite excited to try this fragrance from Alexandria, 1. Found the 30ml on eBay with Best Offer option submitted never received a response. Shame on u Alexandria, bummer but still decided to purchase. 2. First impression; I've never purchased from a fraghouse & not receive samples until now. If you believe in your fragrance show us! 3. Creed MI has changed over the years, I have own or sampled quite a number of batches going back to 2011, with my favorite being a 2013 batch which the Melon, sea salt & musk was quite prominent & lasted a solid 4-5hrs before becoming a skin scent. CITRON DEL MAR: undetectable from more than 6-inches away right off the back on a mild day (60-70 degrees). The opening is quite fresh with a prominent lemon (citric note). Not much melon or fruity notes as I would have liked. The middle is where I get a bit of the aquatic and salt, middle of the day at the beach after a dip with the hot sun percolating off your skin kind of vibe. Eventually the Musk came out to play, reminiscent of a late evening stroll on the beach of a tropical island, barefoot as the sun begins to dip and set. Rating: Scent: 7/10 Projection: 2/10 Longevity: 5/10 (have to try a few more times) Match to Creed MI: 4/10 (same vibe different frag) Overall: 5/10 (wished it projected better) Was disappointed it is not quite the Creed MI match I was after. However, it stands alone as a decent frag 50/50. I would recommend sampling before committing to a full bottle.

After further wearings of both MI and CDM, I have encountered noticeable differences between the two. Citron Del Mar is sweeter, saltier and more beastly. MI seems to have a more sparkling opening, but sadly like most Creeds, this amazing moment does not last and then the fragrance itself turns into a skin scent within an hour. So in short: CDM is a sweeter, saltier, louder version of MI. And this makes them different, so I prefer to use the word "Inspiration" rather than calling it a "clone."

I have a 10ml decant of Creed Millesime Imperial that I've been wearing for a few months, and after smelling Citron del Mar, there is absolutely no reason for me to ever re-buy the Creed. I'm sure there must be *some* differences between Millesime Imperial and Citron del Mar, but if there are, you can only find them by straining very hard and being super discriminating. I keep sniffing them, one on each wrist, and I don't detect a difference. Except in longevity, of course -- Citron del Mar lasts several hours longer. Citron del Mar smells of sweet fruits and salt water, it is light and refreshing, airy, and the salt does magical things to the fruity aroma. Perfect summertime scent. After sampling it, I bought a full bottle, and I'll be buying a few more for backup. You just never know when something this good is going to run out for good and become unavailable.

A very good interpretation of Millisime Imperial. I have a new found appreciation for it having done a side by side with Parfum Vintages Rush of Unicorns - which is excellent This is as good, possibly even better as it retains for longer the bit I love the most about MI - the watermelon accord. Given the excellent price point and great customer service from Alexandria I'd have to say this is probably the best copy so far (I have tried Dua's but that was I while back - I'll update when I compare) This is what makes Alexandria frustrating, they can make great impressions of Black Afgano, Naxos, Layton, Elysium, Intoxicated and this but then churn out absolute tosh such as their takes on Bleu de Chanel and Bleecker street. Well at least they smashed it with this.

This seems like a slightly darker and earthier version of MI. It's not dark or earthy, but compared to MI which is a bit brighter this comes out as darker and that's not necessarily a bad thing, just gives the scent profile a twist. I like it as stand alone, as for similarity I would say it's around 85% give or take. Again that's not necessarily a bad this it's almost like a flanker and better suited than the original for warm weather night time and fall use whereas the OG I only see it being used for daytime spring and summer. I like it, but I need a longer wear to see how performance is like, seems to be projecting fine for the first hour but I don't know how it fairs with longevity. I will update.

This smells amazing like a perfect batch of Millesime Imperial by Creed. You get that lush watermelon smell with a slight marine and salt accords in the background. The only difference is that it's a tad sweeter and better for it. Unlike most batches of Millesime Imperial this lasts and lasts and projects really well. I cannot express how good this smells, I'm done with Creed I'm getting a bottle of this. For the price this is just a must have purchase. No longer will I have to gamble with the big bucks wondering if I'm going to get a good Creed batch of MI. Wonderful fragrance for that fresh Mediterranean Summer Sun feeling.

I humbly say that I’m quite disappointed with this fragrance performance. The scent is fabulous but the opening is the best 5 - 10 minutes you’ll get from this one! Afterwards it stays close to skin for only you to smell and for me that’s raising my wrist up to my nose. I blind bought this and Zion with everyone’s hyped reviews on to be highly disappointed with both of their performance. I should have not blind purchase; my own fault. Such a shame because both smell good for the opening 5 minutes. To top it off, both purchases were 60 ml bottles

Yes, I am the one who submitted “Moon Dust” in the reminds me of section. It has that flint/ earthy soil type feel on my skin to the same scent as moon dust. Very fortunate I came across this fragrance- I wouldn’t mind rounding out that profile to be heat appropriate and that much closer to a year round sig. accord of mine
