Citrus Splash

I just received my package for Citrus Splash this morning! WOW! Hany got it right once again! Initial spray you get a very sweet mandarin orange note.As some people have said on both the website and the review below me; it is a sweeter orange. Like a candied orange. Surprisingly it does work a lot nicer than Tom Ford's opening. But after a few minutes, the orange fades into the background. It is still present, but then this is where Citrus Splash shines! Where the clone aspect kicks in. After the opening, it is all Mandarino Di Almalfi baby! I am talking pretty much 99% spot on with the 1% being the sweeter orange opening. Citrus Splash projects very very nice from start to finish (I have yet to experience the finish as this one is still going strong 3.5 hours after application.) The one thing I cannot get over is how precise this smells to the real deal! I saved about $200 ish because of Citrus Splash! This is probably my favorite citrus freshy! Pair this with a crisp white shirt and a open buttoned dress shirt, a pair of nice blue jeans, and your favorite shoes. Alexandria Fragrances is on a roll! I also received a sample of Monarch (Clive Christian X for Men clone) which is excellent! There is no page for that one, but that one is another great fresh fragrance! 12/10

Yes, this is a Tom Ford clone, of one of my favorite fragrances from his house. It does a very good job of impersonating Mandarino di Amalfi, but to my nose, it is a little bit more creamy. Somebody said it resembles orange candy, which is pretty accurate. It is like an orange creamsicle ice cream pop. It is definitely not a bad fragrance, and smells quite good. I actually layer this with my bottle of Mandarino di Amalfi to make it last a bit longer. Also, as we all know, Mandarino di Amalfi smells amazing, and is a perfect summer time fragrance for a day out on the boat or the jet ski, but it doesn't quite have any lasting power, but Citrus Splash lasts about 5 hours on my skin after sweating in the sun and having a dip in the ocean. Good fragrance,and definitely allows me to stretch my bottle of Mandarino di Amalfi.

Summer Simplicity: realistic citrus blend creamified and amplified with neroli. A slight aromatic herbal accord helps avoid the dreaded ‘bathroom cleaner’ effect. Smooth composition, no jagged edges or clunkiness. Easy to wear, unisex (as citrus and neroli are quite genderless) but the herbal notes might skew it just a bit masculine. Recommended!!

Very fresh citruses mandarines, orange and Bergamot made with obvious fine ingredients project perfectly throughout the summer heat and last for a long time. It is one fragrance that is although niche quality it’s easy to wear and appreciated by a variety of audiences. Longevity is at least 8 hours

This smells fantastic, it reminds me of a ADP type profile. Natural, bright and perfect for summer. I had another clone of MDA (Just Jack), and CS blows it out the water as far as quality of scent profile.

It’s definitely very close to Mandarino di Amalfi but not an exact copy, most apparently in the opening. In Citrus Splash the mandarin note smells a little less clean, perhaps not as fine or pure, it’s more embedded into the other surrounding notes whereas in the OG the mandarin initially is more distinct. This is a minor difference though that’s only noticeable in the opening. In the dry down, once things settle I can’t tell them apart. The most significant difference between the two is longevity, this is where Citrus Splash shines as it outlasts Mandarino di Amalfi by a good few hours. I can still smell it on my hand after 12 hours. I’m very happy that despite the Tom Ford version now being discontinued, through Alexandria Fragrances one of my favourite fragrances gets to live on and I look forward to wearing this in summer.

Sweeter interpretation of the OG...which, is a positive for me. I really like orange...and the longer it lasts, the better. This goes on citrusy and fresh. As it dries down, the orange blossom is super pronounced. I think of other fragrances that I love the orange opening, but then I’m bummed it goes away. Not here, the orange here gets louder. It is in the realm of the OG, but the fact that the orange is dominant makes me like this one a bit more. Projection is pretty strong for awhile. Longevity is a good 5/6 hours. Both are better than OG. Overall, as it stands on its own..,it is really good. If you are holding for an exact copy, you might be disappointed. As always, get a sample and check it out before bottle purchase.

Inspired by Mandarino di Amalfi by Tom Ford. The thing that I love about the original Mandarino di Amalfi, is that its citruses are not strong and powerful, but they can create a sort of magic that I haven’t found in Citrus Splash. Too sweet, too powerful. In my opinion it smells like an orange candy. But don’t misunderstand me: the quality of the ingredients is really high. If you love sweet citrus scents, than this is the one for you.

I love this scent, but it took some time, and I wanted to warn everyone about this with Alexandria Fragrances: lots of times their fragrances haven't had time to settle and fully blend, so they smell and perform completely different after 2-3 weeks than they do when they first arrive. This juice did have a bit of a "synthetic" (more like "fake," because let's be honest, most juice is technically synthetic these days) orange tint when I first got it, like more of a bathroom hand soap smell, and it only lasted on my skin for maybe 90 minutes. I left it on my shelf in disappointment, but came back to it about a month later just to remind myself what it smelled like, and I was stunned. It was so much deeper, richer, and more powerful than what I had remembered. Now I wear it all the time in the warm weather, and I absolutely love it. I get closer to 7-8 hours of longevity from it, too. So a word to the wise! Let your AF bottles rest for a while before you decide if you like them or not!
