Dirty Orange

This scent is truly magical! Not sure how it stands up to the Creed original, but I love this. So far my favorite Alexandria fragrance. As a woman, I cannot see myself wearing this out, but I love to wear it at home alone or spray it on my pillow cases and sheets. Makes my entire bedroom smell amazing! I would love to smell this on a man. As far as the scent? The name Dirty Orange is perfectly accurate. The mix of neroli, bergamot, grapefruit, lemon and ambergris is just right. It projects well and the longevity is surprising for a citrus fragrance. 12 or more hours, and my room still smells of sexy orange.

This is a tart citrus juice with nice longevity and sillage. This is a nice quality fragrance from start to finish. Bergamot, grapefruit and neroli off the top blended amazingly. The ambergris dry down is top notch. This is a stunner for sure. For the price and due to the similarities with Creed's Neroli Sauvage I say this is a clear winner. Enjoy!

I’ve don’t have a sample of Creed’s Neroli Sauvage at hand, so I’m judging this fragrance purely on its own merits. Opens with a sharply assertive blast of unadorned citrus that’s almost abrasive in its raw freshness. The orange accord is a well blended composition of grapefruit, bergamot and neroli, backed by lemon verbena. It’s exceptionally refreshing and awakening, with fairly good sillage until dry down, when the citrus top notes begin to nestle into the ambergris base. It’s a very simple fragrance but done with finesse, the blending and quality are evident. I’d reach for this on a hot sleepy, summer morning and imagine it would brush away the cobwebs of slumber faster than a triple espresso! Like many of AF’s offerings it’s great value, as good as or better than many fragrances two or three times the price.

Overall, very good fragrance for the cost. It does not stand up to the OG in quality...also maybe about 75/80% close. Saying that is not a knock on Dirty Orange at all...because it is very nice spring/summer option. Opens with a refreshing citrus blast that shows you where it’s going...ultimately a neroli/lemon verbena combo with ambergris for depth. Longevity is above average....sillage is average. Very versatile...from fun in sun casual to dress it up business. I believe this will always have a place in my collection...regardless if I have the OG.

OK. I love citrus and orange type of scents. I read the great reviews all over the internet about this one and blind purchased a big bottle. It is a fine frag but I don't think I can wear it as a woman bc of the aftershave vibe. It smells WAY too masculine. I don't understand how any woman can get away with this strong men's cologne.

Just got myself a sample of this stuff and decided to give it a wear this morning. Let me just say that Dirty Orange is neither dirty nor orange. Odd name for what is really a nice, unusually potent and interesting frag for its style. It leans simple, but what's there is really interesting and enjoyable. The first thing that hit me when wearing Dirty Orange was that unmistakable Creed vibe -- something in the treatment of bergamot/verbena/ambergris that really strikes that familiar Creed chord. It really feels like I'm wearing the brighter half of Green Irish Tweed -- stripped away of its iris/violet leaf and barely perceptible sandalwood. In that sense, it may not be as complex and interesting as GIT, but it bears that same base DNA. The combination of bergamot and grapefruit do bring an orange-like vibe, but with neroli cranking the "treble" up a bit, if that makes sense. But for me, it's the verbena that really makes this puppy sing. I haven't yet had the pleasure of trying Neroli Sauvage, but I have to say this is possibly the best iteration of verbena I can remember. And thanks to whatever they're calling ambergris as well as the PE concentration that AF always brings, this stuff lasts at least a good 5 hours or more -- respectable for its style. Later into the drydown, the "ambergris" joins the now muted chorus of top notes, creating what strikes me as a balance of "whole plant" verbena/citrus and something just divinely oceanic, like freshly pruned and flowering but not-quite-indolic citrus orchard mingling with the complex scents of a busy swimming pool on a hot summer afternoon. I know my description just doesn't do it justice, but it just strikes a really neat chord to my senses. If forced to compare this stage with something, I'd have to go a bit obscure and say the long discontinued Nautica Island Voyage -- which I know, love and hoard. ;) To be sure, they start off very differently, but somehow arrive in a very similar place. Gosh darn that Hany Hafez. Just when I think I've bought enough bottles from AF, he goes and shows me another masterpiece!

The neroli/orange blossom lasts for ten minutes in the opening and then is replaced by lemon verbena. This smells lemony and very green and this is strong for about a hour and then the scent stays close to you. After two hours this is gone and you are just left with a nondescript ambergris like skin scent. The scent is nice for the few hours you get and lasts more than twenty minutes that I get from Creeds Neroli Sauvage that this scent is inspired by. But if you are looking for a neroli/orange blossom scent then this is not it imo. Some of Alexdandria scents are worthy of praise like Zion and Citron de Mar but this is just ok for the few hours you get.
