Fade To Black

Surprisingly, I prefer this to Back to Black for the simple fact that it is more wearable. Back to Black is a true artistic expression of a fragrance. Fade to Balck is incredibly similar, but is missing that true raw honey accord. It is still heavily honeyed, but it's the typical honey you smell in fragrances (whereas the honey in Back to Black is literally edible honey straight from the comb). In the dry down of Back to Black, they are ridiculously similar. Might I say that Fade to Black is a tad sweeter? The fact that Fade to Black immediately jumps to the less striking dry-down of Back to Black, it is quite more wearable. This is one of the closest dupes I've put my nose to. Update: deeper into the heart, Back to Black becomes a bit more "chewy" with the almond coming through a bit more. Fade to Black is still very similar, but leans slightly more powdery rather than edible. These details are only noticed if I put my nose close to the skin. i would expect to notice these changes as I get whiffs of myself. FYI: I compared them side by side on my skin.

This is great but it needs time to mature in the bottle. When I first received it, I got fizzy cherry cola. Then the honey kicks in and that's all I could smell for a couple months. Wasn't my cup of tea but I heard that you've got to let it sit for a while. I waited 2-3 months to get honey/cherry pipe tobacco--man, it's good. This is a staple for my fall/winter scent wardrobe. Warm and delicious. Sillage isn't monstrous but this is a strong frag. Scent trail is sweet and interesting.

How do 24 people say this does not remind them on Back to Black? I sprayed one spray of this on one hand and one of B2B on the other. They are basically identical and could still smell both 24 hours later. I love B2B. It's my most worn winter frag. I will be buying this from now on and saving some money.

Just got my bottle today and man, it's identical to Back to Black by Kilian! I bought the 30ml bottle which is currently priced at $42.99. Totally worth the buy. Heck, I'd even blind buy this! That's how good this is. AF does not disappoint!

Very close to By Kilian Back to Black. Prominent notes are Tobacco Cherry Honey and Vanilla. I really pick up on the cherry notes which I love. Great Fall scent, definitely unisex. Quality dupe.

My bottle is a few years old. This is extremely close to Back to Black by Kilian. The only difference is that my bottle of Fade to Black is so strong, I barely ever wear it. Nuclear strength. Most people don't point out that Almond note in this but my bottle has a hefty dose of it. I mainly get Almond, Cherry, Honey, and Tobacco. The Vanilla and Tonka are there but the first 4 notes I listed are the main players. If you want a solid clone of Back to Black with Nuclear strength, buy a bottle of this and sit on it for a year. You've been warned.

95th With a recent bad experience with a FB of BTB by K., I have to say that this smells like the original production of BTB in all its power and glory. Very good to my nose and it lasts on fabric the best and skin too. I have 2 travel sprays that are maybe a year apart and they both smell great. I do not recommend BTB by K. in its current weak form. 9/10-very good copy of the original BTB, with many notes and solid longevity and projection...

This does have a "flurry of accords". My sample decant needed a fort night to cure/macerate/mature once received to fully come alive. I get fizzy cherry cola, sweet powdery puffs, honeyed tobacco, and some grounded baking spices. This has a cheery, merry, let's extrovert, socialize, and have some fun vibe.

Love this scent. The dry down is much better and worth the patience. It’s like a dark fruity and spicy scent but not harsh. Very easily worn by a woman. Kind of has a hint of Coca Cola syrup. Not an overtly sweet smell. Really sexy

I was expecting a lot from him, unfortunately. I was disappointed, the smell of honey with amber and a little cherry (as if it were medicine) then it turned into powder (carrom) I'll give him 3.8/10 Save your money 💰

I get a kind of sour mixture of fruit and spices initially. It has a kind of smoky quality to it, almost like a gourmand incense. A very interesting fragrance but not as I expected. There's just so many notes blended together that it's hard to single any component out. It's like a kitchen at Christmas time with a thick haze in the air with all these gourmand scents mingling. This is certainly a fragrance best suited for cold days, it's kind of heavy and intoxicating but at the same time comforting like a heavy warm blanket by the fireplace. There is a kind of talcum powder smell to this fragrance that is hard to ignore once you notice it. For that reason i think i'm not a huge fan.

I used up my entire 30ml bottle, but it was a kind of guilty pleasure as my family members hated the smell and complained every time. Honestly, I'm in two minds myself. I felt tempted to use it, but it was a bit of a challenge. Too sweet and animalic, kind of old.

I’m testing a sample of Back to Black on one arm and Alexandria Fragrances Fade to Black on the other arm and I can honestly say that after 15 minutes I cannot tell them apart, they are identical.

The first AF I couldn’t get down with :(. I can not compare how close is to Kilian, so will review straight up. Goes on with a flurry of notes, but for me the honey and cherry were pretty pronounced. This is a very sweet honey/cherry. Dry exposes an tonka/benzoin combo that is way to powdery sweet for me. Tonka is one of my favorite notes, but every once in awhile I encounter tonka going to sweet and powdery. I do also blame this on benzoin...which gives off a very sweet vanilla vibe. Longevity is above average. Projection is pretty good as well. Easily unisex. Fall/winter DNA. I do enjoy sweet gourmand and powdery fragrances, but this one goes wrong on me. I cannot recommend...but, I always say get a sample and get your own opinion.

Pretty good village and lasting power. Only Issue for me is how much this smells like baby powder and vanilla. AF is a very reliable house but for me this one was a miss. I've heard plenty of the same description for this scent. With all that being said I think this smells very high quality. Worth a try if you can get a sample. In the end this is just my opinion and my nose works differently from other peoples noses.

I never smelled back to black by kilian, so I can't compare. But if the original smells like this, I would be pretty disappointed. This smells basically like a mix of baby powder and honey and I just can't stand this combination. It might work better for a woman, but I just can't see this on a man.

Definitely not related to Back to Black & in general, it doesn’t last for 2 hours in cold AC at home ... not recommended as it is overpriced compared to the quality of fragrance

Yuck yuck! There is nothing good about this fragrance at all. I will say that I hate honey in a perfume so that might be part of the problem. That aside though, this is just really bad! It smells so sour. Like something has gone bad. Gives off a rotten fruit vibe or maybe a cleaner of some kind. I would try a sample of this first before purchasing a full bottle.

HO-RRI-BLE. Headache inducing, cheap, and powdery in the worst way. I am not even sure if I was able to get to the notes. This fragrance is torture and I refuse to spray it again. I think I will just chuck it in the garbage because I would never sell or give it away.
