Hawaii Volcano

Amazing scent right here and if your looking for a more inexpensive alternative to VIW then look no further ! Before I compare this to VIW I’ll describe it on its own. This opens up with what smells like a bright and tart lemon/lime combo mixed with some rich coconut that will immediately remind you of a tropical vacation. Once this dries down it’stays pretty linear but it does get more rich and smooth in the drydown and rum isn’t listed but it does smell like rum is where that richness is coming from as it does seem to be boozy in the drydown. Also in a nutshell what this smells like is Sprite mixed with malibu rum ! It smells so good that you wish you could drink it. In comparison to VIW they are very similar but I’d say they are 80%. They have a lot of the same notes but the lime and coconut note are more natural smelling,and also VIW is more playful,bright and on my skin anyways came off more feminine. With that said,even though the notes aren’t quite as natural I DO enjoy Hawaii Volcano better as it’s richer,better blended,sexier and it performs better. Because it’s more serious and rich it’s also slightly more versatile ! Performance is excellent as it lasts me 8-12 hours with very good projection for 2 hours and then it leaves a nice scent bubble and Sillage trail for the duration of the scent life. Big jump compared to VIW which only lasted on me 3-4 hours. Also my fiancé loved this and preferred it over VIW as she said it was more mellow and relaxing and she complimented me immediately the first time I had this on (after applying it 2 hours before) and she hates most of my frags Overall rating -9 out of 10 ! Very impressed with this scent as I don’t give many 9 out of 10s. Amazing smell,performance and compliment factor is high

Looking for a summer gem...VIW vs St. Bart's vs Hawaii Volcano HV is the winner, beating VIW at its own game. VIW has a hellish price tag...at least Aventus gives you something back. St. Bart's is an ok cheapie but still smells cheap and has limited staying power. HV has depth and is blended better than the other two. Starts off sweeter, reminiscent of Pez, like the other 2, before diving into the deep end of aquatic. I felt like VIW and St. Bart's had no sillage and HV gives me about 1.5 ft. After an hour, it gets closer to the skin but there's still some presence. I get wafts here and there. The coconut is done well, more of a support than an individual note. This is a really fun, clean fragrance. As my first AF fragrance, I am very impressed. I've been aware of them for some time but am just getting around to them now and it's perfect timing! I've put my nose to a lot of fragrances and can appreciate the artistry here. It's like Hany looks to outdo the inspiration.There's nothing cheap about the juice and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. Basically, you get niche-level fragrances at a designer price that are on par with the inspiration, give or take. Definitely for hot weather, I get about 3 hours on my skin. This is vacation/poolside vibes...young, sexy, fun....Hawaiian shirts, swimming trunks, afternoon delight. Very happy with my purchase. 9.5/10

I blind bought this one (as I'm sure you can't buy them anywhere else besides their website) I have very high hopes for this one. I am quite the fan of Creed's Virgin Island Water, but not a fan of it's longevity. VIW is a remarkable scent. The coconut and lime combo are superb in VIW. If Hawaii Volcano works out, I'll definitely be exploring not only the inspired expressions line, but Alexandria's original creations, and perhaps expanding my collection from this house. I will do an update once I receive my package. Also, for anyone wondering, it looks like Creed reformulated VIW, as there is no coconut listed now on Creed's website. Which kind of now makes this clone a vintage representation of Creed's old Virgin Island Water, which makes me even more excited to have Hawaii Volcano in my possession! EDIT (12/30/17) I just received my package this morning! All I can say is wow! I sniffed the trigger and could immediately detect Virgin Island Water from Creed! I'm at a loss as to how true this clone smells to the original. You can either pay $60 for Hawaii Volcano, or anywhere up to $300+ for a bottle of Creed (varying where you live or buy from) Hany, sir, you blew this fragrance right out of the water! I will most definitely be looking to make future purchases from Alexandria Fragrances! Don't sleep on this house! Great job!

Like many other reviewers, I was in search of a good alternative to Creed's Virgin Island Water, which, like so many of their fragrances, is lovely but way overpriced. Hawaii Volcano did not disappoint! HV is a little bit sweeter than VIW, but with better lasting power. Starts off as a a festive infusion of coconut and lime with ylang, jasmine, musk, and hibiscus playing supporting roles. The sweetness here is less boozy and warm than VIW, which features a prominent rum note. This is perhaps the only thing it does better than HV. After a while, the lime calms down and the coconut becomes buttery and mellow. The sweetness diminishes, and the ylang-jasmine-musk triad becomes more substantial. From beginning to end, Hawaii Volcano is a pleasure to wear. My go-to beach bum fragrance, indispensable for summer parties or brunch. Genderless and ageless for sure, but definitely better in warm weather! Unless, that is, you just need a touch of sandy nostalgia during the cooler months. :)

Ok. I went ahead and blind bought a travel size 10ml just to make sure it was as good as everything else I have tried from this brand. IT IS GREAT for citrus lovers. It also lasts longer than any citrus EVER. Still not all day or anything but you can still smell it projecting after a few hours. I am not an expert by any means and still can't even really pick out notes until I look at what notes are in it and then look for those listed, but this is a really strong citrus opening (in a very good way), kind of sharp. Ten minutes or so later here comes the sweetness. The citrus is still mildly in the background. During drydown I smell pineapple even though that is not an ingredient listed. It is good but not sweet or floral enough to be a favorite or anything. It definitely is good but I am going to stick with the 10ml. Its yummy but I can't see myself reaching for it too often. It smells masculine a bit until you get to the sweet center.

Opens with a sharp blast of photorealistic zesty lime enrobed in smooth, creamy coconut. The lime is refreshing and invigorating, balanced with the comforting, calming coconut. Then the delicate florals emerge and finally the whole composition nestles into a musky, woody base. It’s a delightful experience that transports me to a beautiful tropical isle, with sandy beaches bathed in sunshine lapped by gentle, crystal clear blue waters. If one day I ever get to go there I will for sure be wearing Hawaii Volcano, but until then I’ll just sniff my wrist and dream! Projection is no more than arm’s length, it’s a fairly intimate experience and I wish it could last a little longer before it becomes a skin scent. I haven’t sampled Creed’s original but now I’d love to - it must be incredible because HV is a fantastic fragrance in its own right. I look forward to wearing this in warmer weather - can’t wait for summer to come!

I actually think this fragrance is better than Creed Virgin Island Water. Hawaii Volcano has so much going for it. Hawaii Volcano has slightly more lime and coconut in it to my nose than VIW. The quality of this juice is excellent and doesn't reflect it's very affordable price tag. I feel that this fragrance is about 98% similar to VIW. The longevity and performance on Hawaii Volcano is excellent, especially for a summer freshie fragrance. I get 12+ hours of longevity every time I wear it. The projection radiates about 6 feet for the first 6 hrs on me then gradually gets closer to the skin after the 6 hr mark. I absolutely love this fragrance and I will never be with out it. When I wear Hawaii Volcano it always puts me in a great mood. Compliments galore with this fragrance as I get 4-6 compliments every time I wear it. Another masterpiece from Hany Hafez. Keep up the great work brother!!!

I currently own two bottles of my favourite summer fragrance, Creed Virgin Island water and burned through my first 120 ML bottle of VIW over 3 years ago. When I decided to order a 60 ML bottle of Hawaii Volcano, I was cautiously optimistic that HV would smell close to VIW. Wow. This fragrance is SCARY CLOSE to Creed Virgin Island Water. In fact, I would say that it is almost identical, and this is coming from a guy who a) loves VIW and b) has worn it for years and owns two bottles to compare it to. The only thing that seems to be missing in the notes is rum, which has been listed for VIW, but not included in the list of notes for HV. Some reviewers have said that they find VIW superior, and I respect their opinion. To my nose, they are pretty close. The only difference besides the price? This fragrance is more potent than VIW. I bought Alexandria Fragrance's sampler set of 7, and they included another 3 scents for free. I am making my way through this set. Of the 4 I've tried so far, this is spot on the most exact replication. I included two of AF's original scents (Omertà and Hafez 1984), but I deliberately picked dupes of scents I already had originals of, to do a side-by-side comparison. This is Creed's Virgin Island Water, as far as I'm concerned. Personally, I get almost straight lime from either one, so it's not super complex to dupe me, but it's very breezy and beautiful, and I enjoy it. All of the AF fragrances I've tried have powerful projection and good longevity. Again, still making my way through my little scent flight here, but if you want a spot on dupe, I don't think they get closer with many others than this clone of VIW!

Not exactly a clone of VIW but I am almost tempted to say that I like it even more? VIW like all Creed fragrances has a sort of "airiness" to it that I find hard to put to words, but this one... even though it lacks as much of that "airy" quality, the tropical vibe provided by the coconut, lime and sweet musk are all very much present, if not more so in this. I think I found my preferred fragrance DNA. This succeeds at being sweet and fresh and not cloying all at the same time. Everything from the opening to the dry down is just really nice and soothing. Absolutely a steal for the price, I not only encourage blind buying this bottle but URGE you to do it. A 55ml is only 60USD and it's a stronger and longer lasting sillage than VIW. Literally nothing to lose. I'm debating on making this my signature scent.

Think Creed’s Virgin Island Water — but without the rum. This is, hands down, the best dupe I’ve smelled, and it comes impressively close to the original. If you really scrutinise it, yes, you can pick out the differences, but credit where it’s due: this fragrance performs incredibly well. It has excellent longevity and solid sillage. The compliments roll in, and it captures all those bright, fresh notes that make Virgin Island Water so beloved. It’s fresh, musky, and lightly citrusy — an ideal scent for spring and summer. It has that laid-back, tropical vibe that instantly lifts your mood. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea — especially if you lean towards woody or spicy fragrances — but for me, it’s spot on. And the price? Even better. An absolute steal for what you’re getting. 8/10

I currently own VIW, and I LOVE the smell of it. What I definitely do not love is that it is a skin scent in ~3 hours. Ridiculous. I tried HV after reading about it as a clone, and having much better longevity. Man, people are not kidding. I get at least triple longevity out of this. I was in the field sweating for 12 hours one day and it was still projecting at arms length, easily my best performer I own that won't kill me (looking at you Replica BTFP). Personally, I also love the smell of lime. The HV definitely is more limey than VIW. While personally, I love the addition of the extra lime, it does make the scent smell a little less unique. Regardless, I will gladly trade a little coconut for more lime and much better performance.

I am reading reviews for many fragrances from this house to determine which bottles to blind buy. This sounds GREAT but I am just unsure about the coconut. I have never smelled the Creed that it resembles but don't want it to smell like bath and body works either. I currently own over a dozen bottles from this house and EVERY ONE of them is spot on with monster sillage... I am so impressed that I will shop here moving forward. If they don't make a replica of something expensive that you desire, just wait, I bet they will eventually make it. So far, the BEST one I have ever smelled, which smells like Delina, is Lady Diana. I just ordered a backup of that one. Still contemplating this one based on reviews.

If smells this on you, you might be mistaken for a beach bum. Like Creed’s Virgin Island Water there are strong notes of coconut, limes, some hibiscus, and some ylang-ylang as well. Extremely tropical. All in all, it is an excellent fragrance. PS. If you live up north like I do, and want to feel like you’re on a tropical vacation, but can’t get away. Spray some of this on, crank up the heat to 90, put on your tank top, and viola! It is targeted as a unisex scent, so anyone could wear it. I would keep this for warmer summer days The longevity is medium to heavy. It lasts well into 6-8 hours on my body Lastly, the projection is medium. 1-2 sprays should do it.

Hawaii Volcano vs Hawaii Volcano Intense Full disclosure, I've never had the opportunity to smell Creed's Virgin Island Water. Going to compare these to Tommy Bahama's Set Sail St. Barts. I also let these two samples settle for MONTHS (as I bought them last fall, and just got done giving each a full day of wearing). Hawaii Volcano : Smells identical to the dry-down of St. Barts. I get a vanilla vibe that smells fantastic. HV also has BEAST performance too! 14+ hours. Hawaii Volcano Intense: Definitely not the same. A strong lime sweetness, very faint vanilla vibe. Doesn't smell as good as HV. Performance is not as good either.

This is an AWESOME clone of Virgin Island Water. Citrusy, boozy and coconut. This smells like a fresh cold Caipirinha with coconut. Really evokes being on a tropical summer beach with a fresh cold tropical drink. Quality is great too. Performance is not awesome, but lets be honest, VIW's performance isn't strong either. VIW is maybe a tad creamier but we are talking about less than 5-10% difference. You judge if its worth the price tag difference. I'm perfectly happy with this and i'm saving it to use it on my honeymoon in a tropical beach in a few weeks

Very nice fragrance that gets you in the same vein as VIW. The opening is a bit more citrusy than OG, but still close enough and very nice. For me, the magic is in the dry down. Like VIW, it’s an island/beachy DNA that manages to smell gentlemanly and sophisticated. One of the best DNAs for what it does. Performance is slightly above average,,,longevity is 7 hours on clothes. Not exact...but close enough. Some might even prefer the opening of this more if you really enjoy fresh citrus openings. As always, get a sample before full bottle purchase.

I’ve never smelled Creed Virgin Island Water but what I hear is even though it smells amazing it’s not long lasting. I got Hawaii Volcano in a sample pack and I must say this smells very good. I love the lime not that is in this. Overall it’s an amazing tropical fragrance. Say you are going on a vacation to somewhere very tropical this is an excellent fragrance to have. I have to say on my skin this does last 8 hours so for a warm weather scent that is great performance. I do see why this is one of the best sellers from Alexandria.

This stuff is absolutely incredible, imagine this scenario: you're kidnapped and blindfolded, then suddenly greeted by the refreshing scent of fresh lime as you regain consciousness. As you stumble around, you discover coconut everywhere, adding to the surreal experience. Just when you think it couldn't get any stranger, you're hit with a combination of citrus and various woods. It's truly remarkable, a solid 10/10.

Aside from comparing this to Virgin Island Water, I seldom see anyone describe it the way it immediately comes to my mind: SEXY! Yes, this is a summertime hit that's tropical and all that (Pina Colada!), but you can easily wear this as a date or club fragrance. It dries down to this lovely pina colada smell that's just heavenly to my nose. Another great scent from Alexandria Fragrances. 9 out of 10
