Himalaya Mountains

At first smell this is a very clean out-of-the-shower smell with ripe citrus on top and creamy sandalwood in the heart. In the dry down however it changes character and out comes the animalic musky and ambergris smell that makes this fragrance stand out and catch my attention. It's a very masculine touch to a very fresh fragrance. Good performance as well. I enjoy it on warm summer days and is a real safe workplace scent

I haven't smelled the original so this is just a comment on the scent. Like others have mentioned it is a nice clean soapy scent with a sort of metallic green musky vibe, elevated casual that you can wear with a t-shirt and jeans. Reminds me of a casual YSL l'homme or Chanel platinum egoist . Definitely circa 1996 type of scent, and overall pretty decent, it's not a wow type of scent more of feel like smelling good but not reinventing the wheel type scent. I can't comment on performance, as this is my first wear, but judging by how it's popping off my skin, it doesnt seem like it's going to be a heavy projector, more of a scent trail type scent, with estimated longevity around 5-6 hours. Edit: So I got a decant of the original, and I am smelling them side by side, and they are around 80- 85% close. For my clones, I like 90 and above so I wouldn't recommend as a clone, but the fragrance is nice enough as a stand alone. The original is muskier and saltier while the clone is more metallic (like platinum egoist) and soapier. It comes closest in the dry down. I think most of the comments on here are spot on.

One has to approach this one as it stands on it own to appreciate it. Reason being it is more fresh citrus clean vs the OG being more woody/musk clean. The fact that it is not the best interpretation does not diminish how good it is. Opens up citrusy with bergamot and lemon blending with the tartness of the grapefruit. The grapefruit note is much more dominant here than the OG. As it dries down, the citrus definitely stays longer, mixing with the sandalwood that comes forth. This is what you get...a citrusy woody DNA. The OG, the citrus dies out on the dry down bringing forth a super clean woody musk DNA. The OG is a love for me, this is a strong like. Longevity and performance are average. This is also super versatile like the OG. Best for Spring/Summer...but can be pulled off in fall/winter. This is in the “ballpark” of OG...but plays for the other team. Both are good and worth checking out.

Starts of pretty fresh, clean. bright. various citrus notes that create this opening. with a slight touch of woody notes in the back. i'm getting a cedar/sandalwood blend. as it drys down, almost all the citrus leaves you, with a soft woody musk taking over. I get this generic department store vibe from this fragrance for the first few hours unfortunately. almost like a clean barbershop smell. and sure enough, after spraying it. that was my fiances exact response. "you smell like you just got a hair cut" she likes it. but i wasn't exactly thrilled with the scent. the plan was to use this as a daily driver for spring. leading into summer - or cool summer nights. And i do believe it will do this job just fine. would not be my first choice for a date night or formal attire. but it is a relatively safe and clean smell. so it could be used.

Got this in the sample set in my search for a new spring and summer scent. I haven't smelled the OG to make a comparison. But this is simply just a nice, clean, fresh out of the shower scent. Not a love, just a like. I probably won't get a full bottle because I really can't see myself reaching for this often. Haven't tested the longevity because I only had this on for about two hours. The sillage is moderate though. This can be used as an everyday fragrance. Even if you're having a chill day at the house, this would probably be something you spray to just enjoy. This is Inoffensive so it'd work as an office scent as well. Overall rating, a good 7/10.

This is a nice citrusy opening that follows with a strong and long sandalwood heart. The ambergris and musk and cedar don’t stand out in the drydown but I imagine they are blending nicely with the sandalwood as I usually cannot stand the smell of sandalwood fragrances. Performance is what we’ve come to expect with Alexandria Fragrances...awesome. This is an enjoyable casual daytime scent. Not for dates. Not for night time or formal atttire. I imagine it would be okay for the office. Fall, Winter, and Spring are this one’s seasons. Try before you buy. Not my favorite, I would say 6.75/10.

This is the third in the sample set I've ordered from Alexandria Fragrances, and this is the first one to kind of let me down. It starts off with this very bracing fresh note, which more or less reminds me of a very masculine shave cream, but after an hour that smell levels off and I'm left with this slightly funky smelling spicy wood note. I don't so much get musk or sandalwood in this one, I think what I'm catching is more of a cedar smell. It's not a terrible fragrance, but I think they could have done far better with it.

I have the OG and although you get some similarities, it’s not really that close if you’re looking for a clone. On its own though certainly not bad at all, versatile, probably an easy 7.2/10. If you bought some on your own you may save it for non-formal around the house types of occasions. Im a huge fan of the OG and I added this as part of the seven sample set you can get from their site.

Not really similar to Himalaya but it smells elegant, masculine, refreshing, green and woody. Definitely smells like I just walked through a forest after a heavy rainfall. Projects about 2 hours then it becomes a scent bubble. Safe office scent on rainy days.

@Tyriel; Yes, it is a clone of Creed's Himalaya. Hany Hafez is doing a good job on these clones. If you like Creed's version, you should check it out to see if you can save some big bucks! CHEERS!
