this is the only alexandria clone i own that i like but i still like Casino Royale more. Longevity is ok (4-5 hours on skin, 6-7 on clothes) it's a lot like BR540, this is a little more balsamic than Casino Royale so it's slightly different but in the air they smell the same (along with BR540) Overall though I'm giving up on Alexandria Fragrances, I've purchased 3 bottles (received one for free so i have 4) and only 1 of them (this one) i actually enjoy but not that much. Dunno how they get these ppl that are so enthusiastic about these fragrances like it's changing the world. The prob is consistency, every time i just let them sit for a bit they change; also they are "Parfum Extrait" which is kind of bs considering the longevity in all of them that i own is about 5 hrs on skin. They aren't really blended very well either it's kind of the same beef I have with Armaf although Alexandria isn't quite as synthetically harsh I don't put this brand very high. If you are buying Interplay or Interplay Extrait you'll be satisfied; outside of that I mean you are probably gonna waste money imo and i'm not trying to be mean or hateful but I just don't think this clone house is worth the time it takes to navigate the site.

I’m a big fan of MFK BR540 on my wife while I wear it once in awhile for a change of pace. Both my wife and I did a few days wearing this and 540 on different hands for a side-by-side comparison. Both my wife and I are extremely happy with how close Interplay resembles 540. It was close enough smelling on the hand, and even closer with the “aura” it gives off. Longevity for Interplay was 8/9 hours for each of us. Projection was pretty good for first couple of hours and still had a good scent bubble later in the day. I have had mixed results with the clone companies (Alexandria and DUA). With Interplay, both my wife and I are very happy. It is so close IMHO, I would not have a problem spraying this over 540 later in the day (although not necessary because 540’s longevity is legendary). Find someone that can get you a sample before purchasing, but for my wife and I, this is an easy purchase and I’m happy with the blind buy experiment. Alexandria doesn’t do it all the time, but they nailed this one.

I understand this is an interpretation of Baccart Rouge 540 by MFK. That being said, I have not sampled BR540 so I can not compare, to my nose this is a nice sweet scent that starts of rather... poopish lol. I know that this does contain Ambergris and to my nose it smells like LEGIT Ambergris... it's rather sea salt or sea water and poop like smell... honestly it isn't that bad... but after 45 minutes it disappears and leaves a very nice skin scent of sweet cotton candy vibe. Overall it's a slight thumbs up. Glad I got a sample. Try before you buy unless you are a BR 540 fan.

attention- this is NOTHING like MFK! This is soooo much nicer and different vibe... and maybe its because im now wearing it for the first time but it is incredible!!! Took me totally by surprise although it shouldnt have considering how good alexandria has been. I recently wrote another review, and like then, i find it amazing that this brand more than any others compels me to write when i hate writing lol! I love omerta too which ive just tried and have just ordered 10 different others.. keep up the good work!

This is as advertised, an interpretation of MFK 540. It’s very close to the edp version. I have the 540 extrait, which I wear frequently, and have samples of the edp, so I can attest that Hany did an excellent job putting this together. Save some bucks and grab this if you like MFK 540. Give it a few minutes after application to settle, then smell the magic. This smells great and, just like a whole bunch of their fragrances, it outperforms its price point. This is a must have if you are fond of ambergris.

This is not a bad fragrance, just not very close to BR 540, it’s probably 50, maybe up to 60% similar. Interplay has the florals and the ambergris more prominent, in BR 540 the ambergris blends with resinous woods and spices, keeping the florals in the background and creating that cotton candy-like characteristic scent. Interplay makes an attempt to get there, but falls short due to the strong florals in the forefront. IMO interplay is a very pleasant scent, leaning more feminine than BR 540, with some notes that may remind you of BR 540 (definitely not a clone), but fails to inspire the same feelings of coziness as BR 540 does, but considering the difference in price, still a decent value for money. My advice, if you enjoy exploring different fragrances or you like ambergris and florals based scents, you may like this; but if you are only looking for BR 540 clone... this one is not for you. Interplay extrait is another story and a far better approximation to BR 540 extrait.

Disclaimer- I do not own, nor have i sampled Baccart Rouge 540. However, I can say that to my nose there is absolutely not a "poopish" note as reviewers below have mentioned in this fragrance. It smells sweet and almost cotton candyish with a little hint of latex plastic (kind of odd). I do believe there is a note in here that noses interpret differently, thus causing people to have vastly different experiences with it (perhaps thats where the "poop" people describe is coming from?) . As far as performance goes, this stuff lasts a LONG time on my skin and clothing (12 hours easily). Projects well also. EDIT: I have a 10ml decant of Baccarat 540 edp. It is a little sweeter but they are very close (90% similar). Both of them last forever on skin.

This is not a perfect clone of BR540, but it's close enough for my tastes. BR 540 seems to take people to the extremes of love/hate on this board, so I shouldn't be surprised by the same reactions to Interplay. If you've never smelled BR540, I can understand people reacting negatively because it's not a typical scent. If you have smelled BR 540, then you should be able to see that Interplay is an excellent value for the price.

I thought I already did a review for this, so I'll keep it short. It is a decently sweet scent with a little woody musty vibe in the background. Compared to BR540 this is not as sweet, lighter, less projection, and less longevity. It's still worth wearing, but the more I compare it, the more differences I see. Alexandria does have nicer MFK interpretations, but I feel they let this one be just OK instead of awesome!

You can tell how many trolls have negatively voted this by its unreasonably low rating, and the fact that 9 people (10 actually, i downvoted it) say this smells like paco rabanne 1 million. Also my reasonable and fair review got downvoted off of here because of same trolls. This one will too. Trolls GTFO.

Rather thin and flat, smells to me more like AG Cloud than BR540, but Interplay does stick around for a good six hours and radiates strongly for three or so, far exceeding Cloud's performance. There's no spice, no warmth, and no savoury quality. If you prefer more of the candy and floral aspects of the MFK original, this delivers. Fine for bedtime, but I wouldn't choose it otherwise.

Not impressed. it's like comparing a cz to a diamond. I've had the opportunity to sample several "fragrances" from this "house" and nothing really stood out to me as being an exceptional offering. They've all struck me as being just "ok", especially when making a side by side comparison their original inspiration. I recommend saving your money and splurging on a bottle of BR540. There is no substitution for the real thing and in the end, you'll be happier for it.

This is much more floral than BR540 upon first spray. After about a week, it smelled distinctively more saffron than BR540 and then empty. For the price, this is a pretty sad dupe. You're paying for the fancy bottle. I tested 7 dupes of BR540 and this ranks at the bottom. The $12 version at genericperfume is better than this. It has a sweet cotton candy opening, but then a minute later it becomes woody. The dry down is a scratchy sandalwood. Then later light pencil shaving and light cotton candy. I would not buy this as dupe for Baccarat Rouge 540. Get Ariana Grande Cloud instead.

This frag smells like if you mixed together a decaying tooth and BR540. Interplay Extrait is a much closer clone.

I am a big fan of MFK Baccarat Rouge 540 because of the versatile profile, but once I heard about Alexandria Fragrances inspired fragrances for a fraction of the cost. Now, there is a difference between Interplay and the BR540; the difference is definitely more apparent in the opening. There is definitely more ambergris in Interplay than there is in BR 540 which is bittersweet. At first, it smells like BR 540 the first minute after application, but after a minute the animalic "moth-ball" smell becomes the most dominant note. I love BR 540 because the ambergris note is really tamed with it being slightly sweet & salty. The animalic note in Interplay is just too much for it to be an exact dupe of BR 540. This would be more like a BR 540 Wild flanker. I think the jasmine/sage notes need to be more on the forefront of this fragrance for it to smell as smooth as BR 540. I do get a slight latex smell on the dry-down which I think is due ambergris/saffron combination. Now, what I will say is that I am getting whiffs throughout the wearing of the fragrance and it does strikingly smell like BR 540 which is great! I know scents can smell differently when one directly puts their nose on the applied spot, but with MFK BR 540, I don't get the "moth-ball" smell like I do with Interplay. With all that being said, Interplay does smell like a niche fragrance and yes, it still has that very sweet musky smell that BR 540 is known for. For a house (sub $60 frags) to attempt a MFK original is pretty cool. I'd say it is around 85% similar to the original MFK BR 540. That is actually pretty good considering how much you're paying for this fragrance! The performance is average though, but you can reapply at the price you're paying compared to the original offering. I really think most people would think you're wearing BR 540. I'm just an Ambroxan/Cetalox/Ambergris fanboy so I can definitely pick out the differences in this particular frag. I think if the Jasmine or Sage is turned up, it will be closer to BR 540. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a BR 540 alternative! Oh, and this is definitely unisex which makes it versatile!

So I decided to go ahead and buy 2 fragrances from Alexandria (my first order) and my choices were Royal Equestrian (PDM - Layton) and Interplay (BR540). Royal Equestrian is a fantastic clone of Layton and one I can highly recommend but interplay on the other hand is just down right awful. BR540 is in my top 3 of all time and I have smelled some bad clones of this fragrance but this is the worst. You can smell that it was trying to achieve the BR540 DNA but there is something so incredibly off putting amongst the composition that kind of smells of bad breath and out of date cereal. Very disappointed in this one but don’t let it put you off trying the others they have to offer.

I will preface any negative comments with an acknowledgement of the fact Alexandria fragrances have done some amazing interpretations. But this isn't one of them.....this is HORRENDOUS. Hard to believe this gets released. It does smell like the original - until you do a side by side and then you see how bad this is. If people are interested - the best clone I've come across of Baccarat Rougue is by the DUA/ALEXANDRIA German equivalent called Fatihan - his copy not only is EXACT but far more powerful than the original. Look him up - does some of the best copies I've come across.

This is amazing to me. It’s incredibly close to 540 and the ambergris smells like the real thing to my nose. This is transparent and airy and has that ambergris “chlorine” thing if you know what I’m talking about. Whoever said there’s something fecal? No way! It’s either a troll like all the votes that this smells like 1 Million or it has bad performance, or they have a totally different olfactory sense than I do. I was skeptical about Alexandria but this made me a believer. If you love 540 you’ll love this. Simple.

Ok,received the bottle today...yes,it has certain resemblence with BR540,but,big but...it's not that sweet and has some bitter note that I just can't stand,and reminds me of some cheap boyish,clubish smell,nothing sophisticated,like the original.Sprayed it once,and it's ready for the next owner.I don't think that all his clones are bad,but this one just smells in a way I don't like,and I like BR540.

I think this is a pretty terrible, low quality clone of BR540. I regret buying it. I CANNOT understand all of the positive reviews for this fragrance. I don't smell any of the notes indicated except ambroxan. Maybe I detect a watery citrus note that lasts a few seconds and fades rapidly as the alcohol evaporates. Then it's just synthetic garbage. Do not waste your money on this. You'll regret it.

This fragrance has the same a smell "Another 13" by Le Labo for women and men ( 50ml price $189!) Labo's AnOther 13 eau de parfum is a woody fragrance composed of ambroxan, a synthetic animal musk, blended with 12 other ingredients including jasmine, moss, and ambrette seeds absolute. Great perfume ,however nothing close to the smell Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540(my fav!)

Totally agree with ScentManJojo and Cireal. I can detect 540 somewhere DEEP in the background but the animalic/poop smell is totally overwhelming. I'm not an expert, but all I can smell is ashtray, some mothballs, and a droplet of 540. And someone might have farted.
