Mr. Sillage

Mr Sillage. A tribute to a great man and a great reviewer. Gone too soon. The fragrance that inspired this was Mr Sillage's favorite fragrance...Jo Malone Myrhh and Tonka. It opens with a strong incense with some sweet tonka bean. Then the vanilla comes in. I don't get much of the almond, but I imagine it is there with the underlying creaminess underneath the myrhh, tonka, and vanilla. I get about 10 hours out of it. 3-4 hours of projection. I cannot vouch as to how much it smells like the Jo Malone since I have not smelled that one. All I can say is this fragrance is a beautiful and fitting tribute to a fantastic human being. Similar to the OG, this is a beautiful sexy tonka fragrance! Opens with a pinch of lavender and the tonka/myrrh combo, letting you know right from the start what you are getting. The dry down brings this combo well into the forefront. A sweet and romantic blend of the two. Perfect for winter, fall and evenings. Very seductive in an understated way. Vanilla is only in the background adding depth. Longevity and performance are above average. Certainly a great inspiration and extremely similar to the OG. Certainly worth getting a sample. If you really enjoy tonka, probably will be bottle worthy.

This is a great tribute to a fallen member of the community. This inspiration of Myrrh and Tonka is a powerhouse of a fall/winter scent. I purchased this on release and had to allow it settle for 4 weeks. Once i did, it became its name. SILLAGE was HUGE. I got a "OPEN THE WINDOW" from my wife on 4 sprays. BTW, she loves it, but it was filling the house. Longevity is 8+ hours.

I get tonka, myrrh, vanilla, and lavender, but I can't detect the almond. This is one of those scents that I like.....I just don't love. I think, for me, it's the myrrh that's too pronounced. I've had this sample for a week now, and I've worn it once, but frankly now as I smell it on paper, it does seem to have changed since the time I wore it. This one might need to sit awhile and I'll come back to it. Update: Well, I let it sit for almost a month and now, I think it's moved from like to love. Whereas before, there was no sweetness to the tonka/vanilla, now there is a faint essence of sweetness coming though with a touch of almond that I couldn't detect before. It's a much improved scent.

Loved the Jo Malone, so decided to try this out. Very good. Smells very similar, maybe 90%, and seems to have better longevity than the OG. Would definitely recommend. I have yet to be disappointed in anything I have gotten from AF. They are not as inexpensive as other clone houses, but I find the quality to be a step up. When compared to most designer fragrances, I think most AF clones are actually better. Slowly becoming a big fan and having trouble justifying the high prices at the niche houses.

Smells just fine to me -- strong and true to the OG, right out of the sample sprayer -- like most other AF creations in my experience (and I have FAR too many). Not sure what the reviewer below me was smelling, but it must've been pretty traumatic to drive her to create an account just to post such a hyperbolic first review... Think I'll message the company to compliment their fine work. ;)

-Long lasting at around 9 hours on me -Sillage is enormous at only 3 sprays. -Smells really nice -This is a cold weather fragrance. -Unisex but leans feminine in my opinion; that's why it may not be for me. With all that said, this is a strong 8.5/10 Edit: 07/20/21 12:20 My opinion changed slightly, true Unisex. Doesn't lean feminine or masculine. Right down the middle.

Resinous , aromatic with a sweet vanilla twist. Weirdly I get a cold, minty smell in the dry down, makes the whole perfume smell really awkward. Without that 'cold smell' this would be a nice resinous aromatic scent with a tiny vanilla in the background.

I can see why this is described as a male fragrance. It has more bite to it than Jo Malone’s Myrrh and Tonka, a kind of almost menthol eucalyptus edge to it, and nowhere near as much vanilla. It’s great in itself, but it’s like a male version of M&T to my nose. Whereas I find M&T much more feminine leaning.

Very strong opening. Rougher than the creamy quality of the notes suggest. What I really don't like is how powdery the tonka is, it just overwhelms the drydown completely. I'm just not into baby powder.

I have never smelled such a bad perfume. I messaged the company to ask if I had received a bad batch and they replied to me t me know they don’t do refunds. not anything like myrhh and tonka. Absolutely no resemblance.

I was turned on to this scent by Mr Sillage and loved it, very clean , fresh , powdery great for post gym , shower so went into this hoping this would be a close match and once I smelt the opening alongside the real mc coy my heart initially sank . The opening smelt slightly sharp maybe balsamic but 10 minutes and it was identical I could not tell them apart , great, just saved me a bucket load of cash as I was going to buy the original no need to now, great job hani and a fitting tribute to one of our Brothers!
