Ombré Noir

I love this juice. It smells like an exact clone of La Nuit Frozen on my skin. Frozen is discontinued so I bought this to supplement my Froze usage. Now I find myself never reaching for the Frozen. I only wear this wonderful juice. It has moderate to long performance & sillage. It has the original La Nuit DNA so it works in cold weather, but being slightly fresher (the Frozen dna) it also works on warm days too. It's good for work, play, day or night. Hany hit a home run with this juice. UPDATE 1/5/17: So I am wearing this again today as well as La Nuit original formulation. I wanted to wear them side by side. I need to change my review just a little. Today (at least) this is 95% identical to La Nuit 1st formulation on my skin. The opening was slightly more "in your face & loud" but the drydown is IDENTICAL to LNDH. The opening scent was similar, but just louder. This is such a great scent from Hany.

Ombre Noir 2.0 is a fantastic fragrance. This is after over a year of macerating. Of course you don't have to do it for this long, because for me, when I first smelled it out of the box a year ago, it's smelled very harsh and just garbage so I left it on the side and forgot about it. This holiday when I was organizing my collection I smelled it again and it surprised me a lot. It's now very natural, very beautiful, sophisticated and well blended. I would say it's an easy buy since it's pretty affordable and you can just buy it and see how it goes. But I can tell you that what I have right now is something gorgeous. It's fantastic on its own, but compare to YSL, it's 85%. It's actually a little fresher, brighter, and easier to wear. It's still spicy and lavender dominant but it's not as nutty as YSL. Slightly less complex, without those dark notes in the YSL.

So La Nuit is a really amazing fragrence, its opening is rich and spicy and mouthwatering. I don't get this really with the Alexandria impression, but the drydown is dead on to my skin. Most importantly though, is with La Nuit, there is something going on with a note that comes off extremely sour from my skin that ruins the whole experience. That is thankfully not present in the Alexandria version. Ombre Noir is a fantastic fragrence wether its a clone or not, I have 2 bottles now and see this as my late winter early spring evening scent. I would say its long lasting and projects moderate. Its going to be on your clothes for awhile so be thoughtful of that. This is great stuff, easily a signature scent, I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Ombre Noir 2.0 Another great scent from Alexandria Fragrances! I haven't smelled the earlier batches of La Nuit so I cannot compare it to those but I have smelled current formulations and I can say that this is 95% similar. Noir 2.0 has a slightly messy opening but after about 10 minutes this fragrance starts to shine. I prefer this over the La Nuit and so does my girlfriend. Noir 20. has that classic La Nuit DNA but it amps up the performance. I find that Noir 2.0 has a much stronger smell as well without becoming too overpowering. Just like La Nuit this is a year round night time scent in my opinion. I agree with @KingMigi below, he stated that the fragrance improves over time, I found this to be true. 9/10

Ignore all the negative reviews about this clone, I haven't smelled the original but this smells like sex in a bottle. I couldn't stop sniffing it when I sprayed myself with it for the first time. Before buying I checked all the notes side by side of the original and this one and they are identical. Long lasting version of the original. I'm not sure if some people got a bad or freshly made batch but this is worth the money imho. There's a reason this averaged 4.25 stars, don't let the negative reviews discourage you. Edit: This took 2 months of maceration in a dark closet to start shining, wow I should have wait longer to review this!

I am currently wearing Ombre Noir 2.o tonight for the first time in several months. I sprayed it when I first received the fragrance and it was a hot mess, I knew that I needed to let it sit for a bit and tonight it REALLY SHINES. I've had La Nuit (not vintage) and this is so close to my nose. Totally worth waiting on the juice to mature. Alexandria does a great job, I have about 10 full size bottles and several samples. Royal Equestrian is my favorite as well as 1981x. Well done Mr. Hafez. Guys, let those bottles sit before judging, Ombre Noir 2.0 is AMAZING, went from a 4 to 9.5 in 3 months or so.

I had a decant la nuit from scentbird sprayed on my left arm and ombre on my right. Opening is different. LA nuit is richer/warmer. Ombre has a nutty opening that's not present in La nuit. A few more minutes pass.. middle is still different with la nuit still being more rich and warm. After twenty minutes, ombre is about 80-85% Imo. LA nuit projects a lot more for me and seems heavier. Ombre is not bad, but in my opinion, not exact clone. I'd say it's a lighter copy. I'll report back when I use it more to confirm.

This fragrance is so frickin amazing that I had to buy the OG. Now, I just got the OG yesterday so I need some time before I can say this one is better. HOWEVER, I had 10ml of this and 5 ml of the OG and until I found an amazing deal for the OG I was convinced this was going to be a 60ml bottle. Right now after my decant battle I do believe this is better than the OG and more than likely will go with the 30ml because of the sillage and longevity which are both way better than the OG. More to come.

2.0 First 2 Hours: stronger, louder LNDH. 90% similar. A little too much cedar. 7/10 Next 3 Hours: Enjoy smelling like cedarwood. 5/10. Next 7+ Hours: 99% LNDH clone, skin scent. First perfume I've experienced where the top notes come back in the dry down after disappearing. Lasts 12+ hours on skin. 10/10.

Comparable to YSL's La Nuit de l'Homme with a warmer, spicier, and soapier opening. The key is to let the bottle macerate for a few weeks (cap off) to allow the scent to bloom. Perfect for cool/cold weather, lasts all day on clothes, not a major projector, you have to lean in to get a good whiff.

The only Alexandria Fragrance of all i own which has poor performance & projection . But still last longer than current batches of YSL . But perfume is exact clone of YSL 3/5 for me

It's LNDH at a fraction with the same beautiful spice. Longer lasting and people cannot tell the difference! Get it blindly!

Stronger and louder than La Nuit de L'homme and 90-95% the same. I reach for this more than I reach for my real bottle!

Note: this is preliminary. First impression of Ombre noir 2.0, smells great but doesn't smell like LNDH. Is it in the same family, sure but I' say it's around 70% the same as of this moment. In fact I would say it's closer to smell with Luxor summer (which I also like) than LNDH. I just got it and tested it side by side with LNDH (which I own) and yeah they are close but not close enough to call it a direct clone (at this moment). I can't comment on longevity but it is projecting pretty well for an extrait. Now granted it's known that alexandria fragrances are best when they mature a little bit, so I will come back to give an updated review in 2-3 weeks or so. Overall I got a good price on this fragrance, I think it's around 45 dollars for 60ml which is cheaper than their usual prices and I got the 33% off black friday sale, and I actually like this fragrance on it's own, so no regrets. I will update soon after maceration. Edit: when I placed the order, I got a 60 ml of ombre noir 2.0 and I got a travel set of 4 different scents. One of those 10ml scents was Ovation which is suppose to be a dupe of D&C The One. Now I never tried the original only Royal Night, so I can't say how it smells. But what's flipping me out is now that I tried ovation, it's basically 90% similar to LNDH. So I'm wondering if they somehow got the bottles wrong?

LNDH is my signature scent since more than a year ago, so I know it quite well. I usually spray on clothes, 12+ sprays, and it lasts for 8+ hours with decent projection. Because I spray it on my sweaters and I try not to wash them, my entire wardrobe already smells a bit like this, which is quite nice. When this fragrance arrived, it didn't smell like LNDH at all. I had to let it sit for a year until I ended up recognizing its DNA. Right now it smells very close to the current formulation, maybe a bit more spicy and less sweet/green, but I would say 95% identical. The performance is certainly much better, but the price is not justified for me. In my local store I get LNDH 200ml for 60 eur, so having this perfume at the same price for 50ml is too expensive. Perhaps I will use it in the days of extreme cold or when I go clubbing because it certainly projects better than LNDH, but I don't think I'll buy a second bottle.

I sprayed on some La Nuit on my right arm and Ombre Noir (2.0) on my left arm, here's my thoughts: There's so much cardamom and caraway and lavender in Ombre Noir that it becomes a fresh spicy aromatic bomb, made possible by its extrait concentration. The problem I have is that it's a bit harsh. It's a blessing and curse, really depends on what you like. I prefer more smooth and nuanced formulations, so this misses the mark for me. La Nuit has a gentle, comforting scent to me - which I'd say is perfect for an intimate encounter or workplace wear. LN comes across sweeter, woodier, and more bright thanks to the more pronounced cedar & bergamot & vetiver. I'd say they're fairly different, but still 70% close.

This scent is not quite La Nuit de l’Homme but it’s a good clone. It lasts hours and has great projection. It is close to the original formulation. Very smooth and perfect for dates/close encounters. Best suited for fall/winter...

I got a sample of this one, and couldn't even place what it was trying to copy without looking it up. The opening is nothing like La Nuit. Some similarities show up after a while, but it's still a bit off. 3/10 opening 6/10 dry down I'm not a huge fan of La Nuit, though, and would give it an 8/10 for comparison.

Ombre Noir is a poor impression of La Nuit. Performance of La Nuit is really weak, but this one is too. One thing La Nuit does have, is some type of magic that makes it work. This seems like extra watered down cardamom and not much else. Sad to say, it's a scrubber for me.

Although I am a big fan of AF and own many of their clones, Neither this or the newer version comes within 75% of the OG. Big pass for me.

Note: This is also preliminary Right out the box, smells like chemical warfare. This needs a warning label and instructions to maturate or some note. It does feel like QA is not a thing at Alexandria if they sell products like this that smells like chemicals. I'll give it some months in storage, but just for general awareness it does not come out ready to wear by any recognizable margin.

I blind bought 100ml of the 2.0 new version and it smells nothing like La Nuit De L'Homme at all, it doesn't even smell good enough to wear in its own right. Very disappointed :( I was hoping to find a clone of la Nuit De L'Homme that smells the same but with good performance, sadly this is not it.

If you are looking for an identical clone to YSL La Nuit De L’Homme or possibly even the original formulation of YSL La Nuit De L’Homme (I said possibly because I have never smelled the original formulation) then you are going to be disappointed with this fragrance. Alexandria Fragrances even states on their website that this is an inspired by scent so I don’t know where people on youtube started running with the idea that this is an identical dupe of the original formulation of YSL La Nuit De L’Homme. HOWEVER, this is a good fragrance to consider buying if you like the smell of YSL La Nuit De L’Homme and are interested in something that smells like it could be a more intense flanker of YSL La Nuit De L’Homme. It shares a lot of the same DNA as YSL La Nuit De L’Homme but more cardamom and vetiver as well as has had most of the lavendar removed from the top notes and had lemon added to the top notes (go check out Alexandria Fragrances website on the notes of this fragrance, different than what is listed on here). After a few hours it smells nearly identical to YSL La Nuit De L’Homme with around greater projection but for the first few hours it will smell only 75% identical to YSL La Nuit De L’Homme which is fine to me because it is inspired by YSL La Nuit De L’Homme as opposed to an exact clone. This fragrance is bad if you judge it as an identical clone but if you judge it as a more intense inspired by scent then it does a decent job at that and would be worth considering buying if you like the scent it takes inspiration from like I do.

This is actually a review for Ombre Noir 2.0, since it's not listed in Fragrantica's database. I originally was sent a free sample of this by Fatboy Fragrances with one of my orders from his decant store, and had been pretty much obsessing over getting it ever since then because I compared it with LNDL side by side and was shocked at how nearly indistinguishable it was from the real deal. Well I finally acted on said obsession and ordered a 100ml of it this last week. Therefore it goes to follow that all opinions are based on a bottle which has presumably not had time to sit and mature for many months. This juice is phenomenal. I'm not sure why other people are saying this isn't very close to the OG, because to my nose it's within safely within the area of 95%+ accuracy, both on skin and paper. My fiance and one of my close friends agree. If I'm being honest, it's closer to 98% or 99% in my opinion, but I try to give some room for interpretation on these and assume I'm being overly-optimistic, hence why I say 95%+. Where it defers, however, is that it boasts significantly better performance and sillage compared to the OG. This is exactly what I was looking for in a clone: LNDL scent profile with better sillage and lasting power. Alexandria Fragrances has, once again, delivered in spades. In short - Ombre Noir 2.0 is a banger in my opinion.

*commenting on most recent iteration ombre noir 2.0* When ombre noir first arrived, it smelled like a complete mess. It literally smelled like soap and chemicals (please note, I am not the type of person to exaggerate or dramatize). I read on various forums that Alexandria fragrances need to macerate, so I let it sit for one month. When I tried it out again, it settled quite a bit. However, I still find the first hour or two to be really unpalatable. Especially up-close. It smells poorly blended, and I can very easily distinguish between notes. It feels as though they are not in harmony with one another. Frankly, it just does not smell good at this stage of its life. Once 3-4 hours go by, ombre noir becomes more pleasant in the air. It also transitions to a much more palatable scent up-close and on skin. That being said, I find that its character up-close is best once it reaches around the 6 hour mark. In respect to longevity, I am getting a solid 9-10 hours which is very impressive. I am hoping that ombre noir 2.0 will get better the more that it sits, but right now I am getting the La Nuit De L'homme profile with far superior performance. This is the exact reason I bought ombre noir 2.0 in the first place. I will update this review in the next one to three months to confirm whether or not it improves.

This is yet another Alexandria bottle that I own that did a complete 180 turn after I left it alone on my shelf for a few weeks. When it first arrived I sprayed it immediately, like I'm sure we all love to do. I keep forgetting that these fragrances need time to settle. Initial smell was super sweet and fake, and the longevity was piss poor. A month later, I used it again and it was a 98-99% match for the vintage 2009-2010 formula of La Nuit. This time, it performed for a solid 6 hours, and I was getting faint whiffs of it even 8 hours later. Let the Alexandria stuff rest for a while, it makes a huge difference.

For the 2.0 I would definitely buy it if you want the same vibe as LNDH. Pretty good price value and one of my first pickups as I'm starting to build my collection and new to the community. Definitely fits good for cold winter weather for me though, I'm not sure if this is for everyone but especially in the hot California summer weather, this does not go well with it and even gives me headaches at times, but now as it's getting colder here it's such a good feeling smelling this, so weather is definitely gonna come in handy with this but that's just me, I'd give it a 9/10

Too perfumy to my nose and others that I have asked. Dry down smells good but doesnt project at that point so pointless in my opinion. Projection good for an hour to 90 mins. I was expecting more since my LNDH already does it and a bit more (vintages) I love that this was a great attempt to mimic my favorite fragrance ever but it will not replace my LNDH both old and newer formulations Still waiting for the day a fragrance house will release a high projecting legit clone of LNDH

Like returntoscente said, I had pretty much the exact same experience. As soon as I opened the bottle I tested it and thought it smelled nothing alike and almost chemically smelling. After a month or two had passed I sprayed it onto my t shirt and it smelled almost identical with the chemical smell being about 90% gone as well. I think it’ll only improve with time. I can’t wait for fall and winter so I can wear it daily. Longevity 8/10 Projection8/10 Overall 8/10

I don't know if this needs to macerate or something but it smells bad out of the bottle. I have the real version and it smells amazing. But this clone sucks. Maybe it needs time. Edit: the dry down is closer to the OG than the bad opening. Still wouldn't buy again though. I got 6 other Alexandria 5mls and they were all much better. This seems to have more caraway and less cardamon than the og.

It definitely smells like La Nuit but this has way better performance. I easily get 10-12 hours when i wear this. I love both but La nuit has terrible performance so going on forward i will be buying this once i ran out.

Opening doesn’t smell like LNDH and is strong on the alcohol, give it 30 minutes and it’s almost an exact copy. Definitely stronger that LNDH which in turn leads to the alcohol smell at the start

Just received mine and I can say going by smell alone its a pretty good clone. I think it actually smells like a mix of F Black and LNDH. Hopefully longevity is pretty good
