Ovation

I've owned Ovation now a few weeks and have only tried it a handful of times since I live in a warmer climate area. With my little experience I can say that I am pleasantly surprised by the performance. I applied this morning at 7:30 and it is now 6pm and i can still get light waffs, especially on my clothing. I'm not a big sprayer, went with 5 today. Note, this is a softer to medium projector so you could go crazier if you wanted the attention. Profile wise, this leans just a tad bit fresher than the original. Identical smell, just heavily reliant on the grapefruit, orange blossom and ginger elements. The cardamom and amber aren't as warm as the original. Those always gave me a literal warm feeling but that does mean you can pull it off easier in warmer weather without it becoming cloying like the og did. I've loved the one DNA for 14 years so I'm glad I found an alternative that lasts.

The opening is grapefruity, basily, and gingery. Then it drys down to this silky, creamy, smooth, clean, masculine smell. This was not a love at first blind buy it took time to grow on me and now that it did I am in love with the perfume. Ps. I went to ulta to try out some perfume, saw Dolce&Gabbana the one edp and thought I should try it out. This is like 90% to 95% the same but ovation is much stronger and lasts longer. Honestly in my opinion ovation smells better

D&G The One is one of my all time favorite scents. Ovation is a great alternative to The One but unlike the abysmal performance of The One, Ovation actually performs amazingly! Scent wise it’s extremely close to the OG as well. Great fragrance!

Got my Ovation and YES >> IT SMELLS SOOOO GOOD But, it is NOT a close interpretation of Dolce & Gabbana THE ONE. It does NOT have the CREAMY SMOOTHNESS that THE ONE has which caused me to purchase this from Alexandria Fragrances. So I will be purchasing a bottle of THE ONE just because it is DEFINITELY NOT the same in attraction which THE ONE HAS. OVATION has a STRONG BLAST of Scent to it and NOT that CREAMY SMOOTHNESS which is a BIG reasons as to why THE ONE is THE ONE! I Still Recommend Alexandria Fragrances because it SMELLS REALLY GOOD!👍🏾 EDITED: OKAY ....... WELL OKAAAAAaaaaY! I Seeeeee Now. Well after writing the 1st review above about OVATION I see that after the 1st Initial Blast from 1st spraying it upon myself there is a CLOSE RESEMBLANCE to THE ONE. THAT CREAMINESS is There! And it does smell CLOSE to it......VERY CLOSE......NOT Exact.....But....VERY CLOSE! EDITED: TODAY.....I received my THE ONE travel spray to see if there is a difference and YES there is. But in my opinion ALEXANDRIA FRAGRANCES OVATION smell MuuuuuuuuCH BETTER! WELL ALRIGHTY THEN HANY HAFEZ/ALEXANDRIA FRAGRANCES. IM SCARED OF U 💙👏🏾👍🏾💙

I was excited to compare it to DG The One for men. Its like 98% there. But that 2% is what makes me want to stick to The One. Ovation smells nearly identical every step of the way. All the elements of the original are there. But, there is a slight sweetness amd remains throughout. What kills ovation for me, is the basil note is almost non existent. Thats what makes the orignal one of my favorites. The basil note in the OG is prominent and just the right amount and its from start to finish. The near nonexistence of basil in Ovation kils it for me. Really disappointed because everyone raves about it being better especially with longevity. Stand alone, its 8/10. Comparing to original, its a 6/10. The basil note in The One for Men is something i absolutely love. And Ovation lost it completely.

I haven't tried The One EDP so I can't comment on similarity but Ovation smells really good, it reminds me of La Nuit from YSL. The longevity is so and so at around 5-6 hours with low to moderate projection. I would have bought a full bottle (I have the 10 ml) if it was slightly better in longevity and performance, but at this point I already own La Nuit and it's cheaper and longer lasting than Ovation so I rate this a like not a love. But it still smells fantastic.

This is one of the few Alexandria Fragrances that I wouldn't recommend. It definitely smells similar to The One, but can't say I remember the original well enough to say it's an exact match. It smells good, but it's got about the same projection and longevity as the original. So what's the point?

Sure... Projects and lasts longer than The One, but it's NOT a good clone at all, and nowhere near as intoxicating as the real deal. Not more than 65% similar; this is in the bottom 1/3 of Alexandria's offerings IMO. They have plenty of better dupes.
