I am loving this for the summer, the perfect alternative to citrus scents! Longer lasting and a little stronger than the original, not too complicated, so its good for layering and adds a zing to aromatic and woody perfumes.

Fresh red cherry smell. Yep those red cherry candies at every gas station and Walgreens for like 99 cents. Fresh and fruity with a slight bitterness to it. Perfectly unisex and great for warmer temps.

Having the original Hermes and wishing for something with a bit more performance, I happened across Rouge Carmin. Though it offers more longevity, compared to the original the "zing" on initial spray isn't quite there. Overall the Alexandria take is sweeter, more candy-like, and feels "thicker" - perhaps in part due to the fragrance literally being more concentrated. While I don't know the specifics, this bottle reads parfum extract while the Hermes is an eau de cologne. Tradeoffs, tradeoffs - I'll be keeping both, but I do prefer the Hermes a touch more. I did find the two pretty similar in general. Ultimately the short-lived zing from the eau de cologne is more worthwhile than an hour of soft presence, in my opinion. It's a like, not a love for me

Just got this in the mail, and I have no knowledge of the original inspiration. Crisp clean sour blast that has red berries in the background. VERY fresh and I'd imagine GREAT after a shower in the summer. I will get back to you on longevity as I spritzed this on only 2 minutes ago!

Big love for Rouge Carmin. It`s like biting into a rhubarb pie. If tart is your thing then this is your bling.
