Seven Seas

This is not Viking, more like a niche old spice original aftershave. Don’t see my 1st review on here but.. I recently bought a few samples of Gucci Envy & I must say, I’m picking up similarities between these two mainly in the mid. Difference being: Seven seas has the mint note in the beginning 10min that is just beautiful!! Mid is Envy/ Floris Santal. You notice the spicy aspect of Viking but it’s rounded & blended in a bit. Approaching the dry down, the rose becomes most noticeable, mixing with the sweet patchouli, which is very nice. The mix gives off a cloudy cocoa/ rose scent around a old spice base. The way this juice transforms start to finish is just stunning!! Niche quality for sure!! This is the fragrance that put me on to rose being a masculine note in perfumery (if done right). OH DEFINITELY FULL BOTTLE WORTHY Edit 8/24/23 : does resemble Viking quite a bit. Viking: opens w/ far more citrus & pepper & It’s lighter all around..Lacks the mint & rose completely & the patchouli isn’t as blended (lacks the yummy’ness). 11/2/23 : Today the far dry down was terrible.. the patchouli was overly sweet screaming notice me 😩. Probably just need to not do a full spray considering it is a Extrait. Small dabs fixes this issue for me.

I need to start this post by saying I have owned 8 full bottles and 4 packs of samples from Alexandria Fragrances. They do an incredible job and in many cases create things almost identical to the original at much better prices. For some reason Sevens Seas just does not work. I love Viking it is one of my favorite Creed Fragrances and I would consider actually paying for a full bottle. Seven Seas has similar ingredients, but not in the same amounts and that might be the key. It is pleasant, but if you try the original you cannot go to this.

This is a can't miss scent that is stunning from start to finish. Top notch longevity and projection. I would rank this near the top of Hany's creations. This review is based on never smelling Creeds Viking.That being said I really do find this to be an amazing juice. Would work great during the warmer months. Keep up the good work sir.

I haven't tried Viking yet but I like this for what it is. Minty fresh with a little spice that smooths out as it dries down probably from the sandalwood. Wearing it right now. Going on my spring rotation for sure.

Alexandria Fragrances Seven Seas is a pretty good buy if you want a 90's kind of scent. I got this in a travel decant after I smelt the scent Seven Seas was meant to be a clone of, Creed Viking on the cloth mail out. I liked it so when figuring out a sampler, I figured I would get this one. I find that Seven Seas it does copy Viking from what I remember of the open. But I also notice some Calvin Klein Eternity for Men as well as Ed Hardy Born Wild in Seven Seas. The main main notes I notice are the mint and the rose and the lavender. Like I found with Invidia, the rose note isn't as annoying to me which is a plus. I do notice the pink pepper and the citrus in the open too which it gave it the comparison to Born Wild and Eternity (for Men) (especially with the lavender). Now I'm not exactly if Creed Viking itself has an Eternity similarity, I know that some reviewers said Viking reminded them of a 90's scent (which Eternity defined in 1990) but Seven Seas does remind me of Eternity. IMHO this makes me not as high on Seven Seas as I'd like to be. The base is lavender with sandalwood and some vetiver, though not into the Guerlain/Tom Ford style that I personally don't like. The performance of Seven Seas is awesome on my skin, especially for a freshie. This is one of the strong points of Seven Seas and Alexandria as a house in general. Seven Seas is a scent that lasts eight hours on my skin which I think might be from its extrait formulation. Projection wise it isn't that strong but it will work. I wore this at WWE Royal Rumble this past year and in the wind on Jefferson when I was walking to Chase Field from Hard Rock Cafe, I caught a strong second whiff of it. This was at least three four hours after initial spray. Seven Seas is pretty versatile. I feel it works pretty good for most settings though not a club setting since it is too clean and strength is not as good as the other Alexandria Fragrances releases that I have smelt. It can work spring, summer and fall. In winter, you could use it just it is more daytime oriented. Date wise, I'd be careful since it smells similar to Eternity and some what like Born Wild (though not nearly as woody.) I do like Seven Seas but I think I will need to pass on a full bottle of it. Seven Seas is a nice scent with really good performance and well worth the price versus Viking but if you have Eternity for Men or Born Wild, it will redundant and even at Alexandria pricing is a bit too expensive (considering prices for the alternatives.) For this, I rate it a 7.3 out of 10. To me it is in between Eternity for Men and Born Wild with Eternity being my least liked and Born Wild being my most liked of the three.

Man, I sure hate to leave a critical review on one of my favorite houses but I have to be honest here. This is stronger than Viking and is a wonderful fragrance by itself but this just isn't Viking. The opening they are worlds apart and almost 2 totally different fragrances. Seven Seas has way too much lemon/ bergamot that gives it a synthetic cleaner vibe that lasts a few hours. Since this is so strong it takes a while to get to the drydown. I have Seven Seas on the left hand and Creed Viking on the right. Viking opens up very natural, smooth and well blended. No real lemon vibe in the opening, everything is already smooth. There's more Sandalwood, rose and possibly mint that no note stands out. It stays linear but does seem to fade at that 6 hour mark which is unfortunate. Seven Seas gets about 70% similar at the 2 hour mark but doesn't have that creamy Sandalwood, rose and mint blended the same way. Lemon is still there but has faded a bit. This is still pumping strong at the 6 hour mark and now smells better with each passing hour. To get this closer to Viking I'd dial back the top notes and boost the mid and base. But all in all this is a good stand alone fragrance, but after the 60ml is gone I'll probably shell out the dough for Creed Viking. P.S. I have several bottles of Alexandria Fragrances and had countless samples, this is my first critical review. Everything else I have is stellar, and this one is good....just not Viking.

This is the second in the discovery/sampler set I ordered from Alexandria Fragrances, and what I get with this is mainly a BIG dose of mint in the beginning, then it settles into a very peppery and slightly sweet smell with a touch of soapy freshness to it. Not a very complex fragrances as far as I can tell, despite all the notes that are claimed to be in it, but that's fine by me; a fragrance doesn't have to be obnoxiously complex in order to smell nice. Projection on this one is slightly less than the Brasilia Prive, in that I'm not tasting this time, so you could easily overspray this one and not gas people out. I think if you were to layer this with a simple lavender and powdery musk fragrance, it would really kick-it up a bit in terms of "barbershop freshie" in my opinion.

When reviewing a fragrance-yes, even a clone-I always aim to evaluate it on its own merits. When wearing a perfume, people around you evaluate the scent and its effects on the olfactory merit alone. They don’t experience name or brand, only scent. I love this fragrance. It is a perfect masculine blend of clean citrus, a dash of fresh mint, a load of pepper, all atop a classic barbershop base. It comes across as quite spicy but never heavy or cloying. I love this quality in a men’s fragrance and this one is a fine example of this category. Unlike most other Alexandria offerings, performance is very light. Does it smell like Creed? Don’t care. The Vikings never made it to all Seven Seas anyway...which has nothing to do with the fragrance...just like names and titles.

Love Viking..this is OK. In the air, SS gives off a Viking vibe...up close, they are not close. Good fresh bergamot/mint opening. Pink pepper is there letting you know spices are around the corner. As it dries down, the bergamot dies down allowing the mint work with the pink pepper that begins to come forth. Lavender also comes to the stage adding to the fragrance. Sandalwood comes in later to smooth it out and add depth. Longevity is 6/7 hours. I’m hoping it gets better as my bottle macerates longer. Projection is average. Don’t miss out on this one...or Viking. This lacks the super fresh brightness that is Viking, Viking is also blended better and great quality. Although this doesn’t compare to Viking in these two categories, it gives off a similar vibe in the air for a better price. I find Viking one of Creed’s most underrated fragrances. Get a decant/sample of both of these and check them out yourself.

Very good projection and longevity, you’ll have no issue being smelled, all day. However, like other comments say, this is NOT viking It’s a very well blended scent, a little too linear for me, as I don’t like it all that much. Just not my scent, I was expecting more woods, more green. But alas, the pink pepper and spice is too overpowering. It’s by no means a bad scent, but I think it has a very small audience which would enjoy it. Not blind buy safe. I hate to say it but it reminds me of an “old man” fragrance.

Not even close. It feels and wears like a very cheap imitation of a very good fragrance. I have to say I expected better but I guess they can’t all be winners. If you cannot afford to buy the real deal then I would say you’re better off going for the DUA alternative. Theirs is much closer to creeds Viking with better performance. Luckily only bought 30 ML’s, otherwise I’d be really pissed off because even the 30 ML I already know I’m not going to wear this thing.

Ever since my grandfather bought Creed Viking, I've wanted my own bottle, but no way could I afford it. Luckly Alexandria Fragrances released Seven Seas which is inspired by Creed Viking! This frag has notes of pink pepper, mint, calabrian bergamot, sandalwood, lavender, bulgarian rose, haitian vetiver, sicilian lemon, and indian patchouli. Mixed all together and you get a fresh spicey scent. The thing I really like about Seven Seas is its spicey enough to be worn in cooler weather, but that mint makes it fresh enough to wear in warmer weather. So in my opinion, it's a year round fragrance and is very versatile. It is definitely a masculine scent and for me, screams maturity and confidence. I've worn this quite a few times, as it's my dumb reach now, and I've received quite a few compliments when I've worn it. It also has great performance as a couple sprays lasts me pretty much all day. This will probably always be in my rotation.

Excellent fragrance. Really well blended. This is a fresher take on Creed's Viking which I really like, but not enough to invest in a full bottle even at discounted prices. Seven Seas actually does a decent job at a reasonable price. The opening citrus/mint blast is fantastic, very cooling and refreshing. While the original is bit more spicier, is a bit more polished, rounder, and richer -- Seven Seas is fresher, brighter, mintier.

Don’t know who is writing these comments but just received a 30 ml of seven seas and it does not smell even similar to creed viking. I am even thinking it was mistaken filled with other scent :( Horrible. Do not recommend.. viking 10x better.

Seven Seas smells good enough but it just isn't close enough to the fantastic Viking to be a replacement. I will also echo those below in saying that projection is really poor negating the value of it's pleasant aromatic, spicy, minty smell.

I have both Creed and Alexandria. Even though I honestly believe that Hani is a genius, Seven Seas has nothing to do with Viking. SS feels cheap and shower gel like. Avoid this one...
