The Best Life

So, I should start off here by first stating that I have never smelled the original inspiration - Davidoff Good Life is a fragrance that I've always wanted to try out and someday I will own it, however at it's current price point I'm definitely not going to just jump right into that especially when Alexandria does get so close to many of the fragrances that I have tried before. Hopefully, this is one of them as I absolutely fucking love this beautiful green gem. It opens with a really dominant fig note, especially when I first got it, and it feels like the very top notes are the only thing I can smell right when I get a fragrance, and the base and mid seem to lag a bit behind. Either way, that fig is so juicy and refreshing and it's soon accompanies by tea and other green, fresh notes that come off as very clean and classy. While this isn't the kind of fragrance I would wear to a date night, I would totally wear this one on a day out with the missus in spring, summer, or the warmer part of fall when you can just wear a short sleeved shirt and shorts. This is a bright, casual kind of fragrance and absolutely office friendly. I wouldn't recommend this as much at night or in the winter as it's a bit out of place there, but like always just wear whatever you want. I wore this at least two or three times in the winter, so yeah there's that. LOL Anyways, overall this one is refreshing, it's classical in a very 1990s way without being too easy to pidgeonhole. Performance is great here as it is an extrait de parfum concentration. Projection isn't totally monstrous, but the more you use the more loud it gets. With this one and any other Alexandria actually, I can smell this one on my shirt even after a round of laundry. It's really that strong! I'll give this an A-, and recommend this is anybody who likes those late 90s fresh fig/tea based fragrances like Bulgari Pour Homme, Creed Silver Mountain Water, and even one that I don't think has fig or tea, but does have rhubarb, mint and spices which give of a similar vibe - YSL Live Jazz which shares the same perfumer Pierre Bourdon.

This is an extremely close rendition of Good Life by Davidoff. I find this a lot more smooth in the opening and not as "zingy" as GL. This does catch the essence of GL from start to finish. I get bergamot, grapefruit, Lemon, sandalwood and amber for sure. Overall it is full bottle worthy. Enjoy!

@JmThms - For the best fig notes try Philosykos by Diptyque. The edt is more fruit/nectar/sappy. The edp has a bit more leaf and wood combined with the fruit. Out of the two, the edp is better IMHO because the edt is almost too sweet. Just try them both. Cheers!

Not my favorite but it’s an ok scent. Smells clean. Heavy on the amber.

This smells a bit like a weaker Dior Dune Pour Homme, with it's slightly bitter and astringent fig leaf and tree bark green accord, on first spray and then diverges. It has a fig leaf note, not a "juicy" fig note, implying the sweet fruit or Nectar, as at least one review has said. It's pretty green, but is quite weak. I sprayed 4 atomization on my shirt. If someone desires a weaker Dior Dune Pour Homme, which is VERY fig leaf and tree bark green, this might be the answer. It's an OK scent, but spray a lot. The scent does also come off a bit medicinal and synthetic. In my opinion, Dior Dune Pour Homme is far better, less medicinal/synthetic, much more realistic green notes, better performance. Meanwhile, my search for a nice sweet fig fruit or nectar note continues. I found it in Dolce&Gabbana K but am having problems finding it in other fragrances. P.S how someone could actually think this smells like Ralph Lauren Safari is beyond me. Update: I sprayed more on my shirt. After 3 hours, its nauseating. I do not recommend this fragrance. I had to change my shirt. Another failure.

I bought two bottles of this when it first came out because I'm a huge fan of the OG, Good Life. That bottle style pictured above is the one I have. It has definitely changed some for the worse in the newer, shorter, blocky bottles with the wooden caps. It never really fully hit the mark for me in comparison to Good Life, but I loved it as its own fragrance. Actually thought it could have been a standout original for Alexandria. Captures that grassy-green aura that so many late 90s creations had back then. Wonderful stuff! But the new version I cant even bring myself to smell from the atomizer anymore. What went wrong in the bottle changeover? Smells like the base oil that Alexandria uses has changed quite a bit. Certainly denser feeling than it once was and ultimately I feel like that's where the biggest difference is now. I also own DUA's clone and it's probably slightly better, but also has its flaws.

It does what it says. To me it smells like what I remember about the good life. It's got a fig floral grassy smell. I like it. It's been on my skin about two hours. It's not super strong but it has strength. I honestly dont think the any version or whatever of the good life was beast mode so its probably similar to the real thing. Like the first reviewer said 95%. Good enough for me.

There is something important to do. Wait 2 or 3 weeks after first spray when you buy an Alexandria fragance, it ́s necesary to develope completily the sillage, potence and aromatic charact. Let rest some time. Give it some time, you will see .

Like all AF fragrances, give them a week or two to settle in properly then they will smell 95% like their inspiration.

Got my bottle today. After many sprays it is a skin scent nice scent. Zero longevity or power Disappointing

Tried it again. The sprayer is amazing. The juice remains a complete waste of money. Don't buy
