The Extreme

I purchased the Noir Extreme take from OilPerfumery.com which is an inexpensive way (usually under twenty dollars American) to test out expensive fragrances of many types. I have to give them A nod because they are often very darn close to the original takes. Oils do however perform differently in that they do not project quite as well as alcohol based perfumes. They also tend to stay linear and don’t transform much through dry down. Their are pros and cons, but I do like to layer these with fragrances so I use less of the original, or to help boost performance on fragrances that lack longevity. Anyhow I digress...Once I got my nose on this, I immediately had to have it. No seriously, the scent profile was instantly a must MUST have, but alas Tom is so pricey. I started my search to find a reasonable recreation. Alexandria The Extreme smells very similar to the Oil Perfumery take. It is really good IMO. I can’t compare it to the inspiration as I don’t own it unfortunately, hard to say if I can manage “not owning” the original but time will tell. This performs well, is in the Dior’s L’Homme Intense line but lacks the strong lipstick iris profile. It is simply captivating, but will be less likely to offend, which the Dior profile does have a tendency to do. My negative here is that the performance is softer than I would have expected, usually they are stronger than the original takes, but not so much here. I will say I only just received the scent, and I do find time helps balance the clones from Alexandria Fragrance. So I can’t properly compare this to the inspiration only another clone in the genre. In any case this scent profile is beautiful !

Once again, AF impresses. The Extreme's scent profile intrigues me...exotic, unisex, gourmand but lighter. I am reminded of Fahrenheit Le Parfum in that both carry an innate confidence. Definitely a cool/cold weather, night fragrance. Actually, let me say Fall/Winter because it fits that vibe. Warm, spicy, sweet...I am also reminded of Starlight by Xerjoff, though TE is lighter. Wearing Starlight feels like a risk (I hope myself and others will enjoy intense Xmas in a bottle) compared to this, which is more crowd pleasing and less 'obvious'. Performance is beastly, I get about 12 hours on my skin. Sillage is more intimate. This is a date night/dinner party fragrance to me, more formal-leaning. There's also a maturity to this, like 30+. I haven't smelled Noir Extreme and I'm fine with that because this is damn good stuff. 9/10

Men's fragrances have really come of age. And their popularity has spawned several "clone" houses, many of them doing a credible job with an individual fragrance now and then surpassing the original. Armaf, Al Hariman, Zara, yet Alexandria, for me, tops them all, fragrance to fragrance. Most of those I've worn from AF (29 and counting) stand on their own, beyond comparison to OG. A few have fallen short in the Longevity and Projection, but been oh so close to the Original. This fragrance is one of the best. I'll let others "nitpik" over how close it is to Tom Ford, but I don't care. I love it for itself, even though that may sound like I'm talking about a person. I you wear this and can't love it, I suggest you give up fragrance all together.

Hopefully Fragrantica fixes their issue with this one. They have it listed as two different fragrances. I find this one to be nearly identical to the original Tom Ford Noir Extreme. So much so that I purchased 2 backup bottles. I have noticed that from my 3 bottles, one of them smells different. One is extremely vanilla but that isn't a bad thing, just not what it's supposed to be. This is a pretty safe blind buy but please try a sample to be on the safe side.

The Extreme is a great interpretation of the gorgeous TF Noir Extreme, A Very nice smell indeed, Sweet, Smooth, Creamy vanilla type scent that is unisex. I compared side by side, both are gorgeous. A must try for vanilla lovers. If you love the Nior Extreme but are shy to pull the trigger preps get yourself a bottle of this beauty. A+

One of my favorite perfumes! Sweet. Spicy warm. It’s just very well blended! I wish it projected more but it really plays a good supporting character to fragrances. I also got a chance to smell the real perfume Tom Ford Noir Extreme and I like Alexandria’s version better. It’s sweeter to me but they smelled pretty close.

This is a fresher interpretation of Noir Extreme. The spiciness of spicebomb combined with a less creamy Noir Extreme. They both gave me 7-8 hrs but the extreme has better projection. I want to get my hands on noir extreme pour femme some people say it smells richer and unisex.

Good clone, at around 85-90%. The drydown is different, and I prefer the drydown of Extreme, but opening and mid of TF has like a semi burned caramel that extreme is missing. Longevity wise they are around the same although TF is a tad bit stronger towards the end.

Great fragrance vanilla with a little touch of cinnamon projection 6/10 silage 5/10 scent 7/10 great not too sweet fragrance for chill summer days and night great for cold spring autumn days maybe too weak for winter (in Canada )

This is an update from my previous review below, after letting my sample macerate for over 2 months. Sadly, the fragrance hasn’t really changed a lot for the better. It’s a very nice fragrance in its own right but in comparison it’s much weaker than TFNE and lacks the opulence, the creaminess and the seductive allure of the original. It’s less sweet also and all in all cannot nearly match the quality of TFNE. So, a good perfume but not a good clone - I’d much rather save up for the original, which is sensationally good.

My sample of this was so far from the original with such poor performance that I’m certain something’s amiss. I’m pretty sure this is one of the few I’ve received from AF that need to be put away to macerate before they can be fairly and properly assessed. This has happened before and I’ve found that after maceration they undergo a complete transformation from poor quality duds into fantastic fragrances. Will come back and post a review in a few months time.

First of all I have smelled TF Noir Extreme from a Sample so I can tell that the smell of THE EXTREME and Noir Extreme are similar but not Identical, it's like 70-80%, and as Noir Extreme, THE EXTREME doesn't proyect much but last like 7-8 hours, so decent, and the inicial blast of THE EXTREME is so powerful, powdery and pircing that can make you cough so if you're going to put it on, you have to move around for some seconds to not cough... overall it has a good smell you can buy it if you like TF Noir Extreme but I'd prefer to buy the original cause of the opening and the original is a lot smoother and a little bit sweeter than THE EXTREME. No hate Just facts...

So this is a hard one for me, because I've never actually worn the OG (only smelled tester strips at the mall). I have however smelled and worn TFNE Parfum (and love it), which I've heard is pretty similar to the regular. Perhaps I went into this one expecting it to be too similar to that one, but in my opinion this smells nothing like I expected. In the first 5 minutes you get the awesome TFNE DNA, but then it's gone. Poof, no Kulfi, no cardamom. After that first 5 minutes you basically get a slightly less spicy Spicebomb. I've tried around 15 Alexandrias so far and this is the first one I've actually been disappointed with.

I have Tom Ford Noir Extreme on my left arm and Alexandria Fragrances The Extreme on my right arm. The opening is 95% identical. It's so close that if you wore this out in public, people familiar with both fragrances would not be able to tell the difference. The dry down is 100% identical. The only difference between these two is the projection. AF The Extreme is a much louder fragrance. Great projection and great longevity. If this were priced the same as TF Noir Extreme I would still recommend this one. Why buy TF Noir Extreme? - You like the bottle - You want to support Tom - You like the 'prestige' of having a high end fragrance Why buy AF The Extreme? - You like the smell of Noir Extreme but not the price - You like the smell of Noir Extreme but not the projection - You like the smell of Noir Extreme but not the longevity

I have TF Noir Extreme on my right arm and AF The Exteme on the left. I've been smelling them all day and catching whiffs here and there. AF has a similar profile to TF, however, TF has a deep creaminess to it that AF can't match. A perfect powdery/vanilla blend that is one of the greatest scents I've ever smelled; perfect for nights/evenings in the spring, winter, and fall. AF The Extreme is about 90% similar. The difference I believe is the airyness of the Scent which is less sweet, less creamy, but is more like a airy vanilla to it. I would wear this scent more so in COOLER Spring and Summer days.

I don't not like TF noir extreme at all, I just find its all too cloudy to me and cant distinguish all the notes but this one is a gem to me, you can smell all the notes in the fragrance and its really pleasant- to me its much better than TF version and so much cheaper---- lasts forever too!!! 8/10 JUST FACTS

Smells like Odyssey Homme black bottle by Armaf, Armaf projects more , last the same , And is 100ml cheaper price.
