Trepak

I do not own Diaghilev, but I do own several Roja fragrances. This is definitely a masculine animalic fragrance and I love the way it was put together. People's noses are different, I really like the amount of civet that is used and the lady I date really likes it as well. That being said, this is a great complex fragrance. I have gained a lot of respect for Alexandria, they put together a quality product. (If you like Oajan, try Apple Crumb). The citrus and the florals jump out at me in this frag, as well as the cumin. I think the cumin, in conjunction with the animalic, give it a bit of a dirty vibe. Good dirty, very physical. Great longevity, decent sillage. If you are not into animalic notes either pass or you def want to sample this vs blind purchase. If you like animalic or are wanting to try one to expand your collection, check this one out.

I love oakmoss. This actually reminds me of the 1970s, when fragrances were full of the stuff. So beautiful. If you don't like oakmoss and don't like animalic scents, you won't like this - but if you love vintage pre-IFRA perfumes, I recommend you try this. It is very intense, so try before you buy a full bottle. I bought a travel spray and plan to buy a full bottle.

I've smelt a numerous amount of fragrances with the note of civet and I honestly can't stand them especially kouros. However trepak isn't that bad, it does actually smell sexy in an expensive type of way. Its certainly aimed at the elder crowd at least 40+ but can be pulled off if younger but solely dspending on your style. Go easy on the trigger because this isn't mass appealing and will only be appreciated by people with a trained nose.

This scent is inspired by the very expensive Diaghilev by Roja Dove. Which is a scent very heavy on the oakmoss and civet. You get a bit of citrus at the start and a bit of florals but the oakmoss and civet steals the show. It's a very dated scent and smells like a museum full of ancient antiquities. Now in comparison Trepak opens with a light oakmoss and civet but it is dialled way back and disappears after twenty minutes or so. I'm guessing this is down to the IFRA regulations. Soon after this you get a lot of florals until a cumin accord starts to dominate the scent. And going forward the scent settles into a cumin peppery spicy scent. Now it's more wearable than the original and very well done. Not my style but one worthy of a sample to see if it's your style.

I am wearing Trepak right now. Smells great. It is supposed to be a dupe of Roja Dove Diaghilev. I have not smelled Diaghilev, But I have Rogue Perfumery Chypre-Siam. This is a woodier and slightly more animalic than Chypre-Siam. I love this scent profile. Smells like those old school Chypre,but woodier. Excellent value. I do think this leans masculine and maybe older. The Cumin note might put some people off though. Jovoy Paris Les Jeux Sont Faits has that Angelica and Cumin that does that. Which is also an excellent scent. Do not blind buy this. Get a sample first. Just in case you do not like it. I do consider Trepak to be an entry into Animalics though. It is light on the Animalic notes enough that I consider this an Entry level animalic scent. Don't go straight into Roja Dove, Bortnikoff or Prin. Start with Trepak first. Note: After a few hours Trepak sort of smells like Hermès Bel Ami at the start.
