Tropical Nights

May my experience be a lesson for you all: before you decide whether you like a fragrance or not, spray it on your skin or paper first! I say this because, in short, when I smelled the sample atomizer for Tropical Night, it smelled like the atomizer was used as a tampon before I got ahold of it. I was certain there was no way in hell I'd spray this juice on my skin. However, upon research, I've found many people complain in the fragrance community as well as on Amazon that sometimes the bottles used for fragrance samples have a putrid fish smell. No one knows why. But anyways, I decided to spray this juice on my hand last night. Thank God, it DIDNT SMELL LIKE A DEAD FISH! That weird smell of the bottle was not present in the juice. This stuff smells fantastic, and my fiancee sitting next to me immediately said she liked it and it reminded her of our vacation to Florida earlier this year. The main notes I get from this are lime, a rum/mojito mix, and coconut. Honestly, this smells similar to Tommy Bahama St. Barts, which I really like but unfortunately the Tommy Bahama fragrance has horrible performance. Anyways, I applied Tropical Night last night, went to bed a couple hours later, woke up this morning and i can still smell it on my hand! Yes, it's a skin scent, but the fact this is a bright freshy and i can still smell it at all is a huge surprise. I highly recommend this fragrance for warm weather, and even though it's called Tropical Night, I think its fitting for day time more so than night time

I absolutely LOVE this fragrance for summer! My chemistry pulls a bright, zesty citrus with a focus on the sweeter lime and an incredible toasted, warm coconut. I typically have trouble finding a coconut that works with my skin chemistry, many pull either 'plastic doll' like or buttery popcorn. The fragrance lasts a good while, about 4-5 hours, before becoming a soft, sweet, musky coconut. The scent reminds me of meals eaten outdoors on a patio with ice cold drinks, maybe a coconut margarita? Sun shining, warm breezes and vacation vibes. It doesn't feel juvenile, but more a grown up version of a yummy BBW summertime FFM.

This easily fulfills my desire to own a "tropical" fragrance. Coconut lime opening takes you to the islands, while lurking beneath is a 'familiar cologne' accord that keeps this from being a gimmicky, suntan lotion scent. Overall, this is a lovely summer fragrance. My kids say it smells like being by the pool, but, when asked, they couldn't specify exactly why, just that it reminded them of it. Not an authoritative statement, I know, but if that is the kind of vibe you want to emit, Tropical Nights may be the one! You can find this at a good discount for the 55 ml bottle.

By far one of the best masculine tropical coconut scents money can buy. I get a fresh, lime and coconut with a cologne style sweet musk with subtle nuances of other notes here and there. I do wish it was a little heavier on the coconut though. I don’t personally get the comparison to Voyage? But I do get the comparison to St Barts. It’s almost like he just took the same notes as VIW and rearranged them into his own concoction with certain aroma molecules to give it a slightly different smell. Great summer beach vacation fragrance.

I loved it so soooo much it’s citrus plus coconut, I prefer it over Hawaii Volcano because it lacks that soapy smell, but I like HV too , last time I sprayed both of them on my clothes and it worked perfect for me, I’m ordering the 60ml bottle of tropical nights next time, wish there is a 100ml

Really nice aquatic fragrance with lime, coconut maybe ambergris. This is perfect for warm weather in general or a day at the beach. This has a strong resemblance to Nautica Voyage but lasts much longer and much better sillage...good stuff !

This is Virgin Island Water but on steroids. Longevity is very very good and the scent is not at all overwhelming. I have %100 positive response to this one for its strong lime and coconut. People just love it. Best for hot days

This smells like you’re sitting on a beach in the Caribbean sipping drinks with umbrellas in them. Smells very good and I get very long longevity and the price is great.

The opening is glorious. Very lime-forward with some other citruses, mostly bergamot and a little bit orange. The coconut water note from Virgin Island Water is also here, but maybe a bit sweeter. Maybe the coconut is closer to St. Barts since it’s also a little creamier. The rum is here, too. In general I would say that it’s an almost exact middle ground between those two fragrances. Which are often compared but aren’t really all that similar, but this acts as a perfect middle ground between them. The downside is that there is this underlying 'generic cologne smell' in the middle part of the scent trajectory. Very reminiscent of Nautica Voyage as it dries down. Remarkably similar. And the other two scents soon disappear. Which makes me assume this is loaded to the gils with Calone. At the full dry down, it does pull back from that a little. It eventually evolves into a musky and vaguely light woody vibe. A little bit of coconut and, surprisingly, lime still lives on. It’s light, a little sweet, and inoffensive. Nice overall.

This is a sublime fragrance at a good price, particularly when AF is running 10-25% off sales. It does not smell like Virgin Island Water, so do not buy it as a dupe. It does have a lovely lime/citrus opener and then settles into coconut/lime heaven, but with just enough soapiness that it makes it appropriate for the office. Sillage is amazing, longevity is less so on me. It lasts approximately 4-6 hours on my skin, but lasts for days on my clothes. I appreciate a good, well-priced frag, no matter the brand/house. I think this is worth the money, much more so than the dupes, which cost $63 USD usually. I think that is a little steep for a 55ml bottle when lots of the frags duped can be had around that price or a little higher.

Comparing this directly to Hawaii Volcano, this is less sweet and way more citrus zest heavy in the opening, but otherwise they are very similar. If you have a sensitive nose and veer away from sweeter dry downs, then I'd get this over Hawaii Volcano. The grapefruit in this is so crispy it's almost floral, crazy bright. Tropical Night is the longest lasting compared to Hawaii Volcano and Hawaii Volcano Intense, but the intensities of the notes are so inverted here. I didn't get much of a liquor accord from HVI or VIW, but the rum here is very much forward, highly noticeable. Not a work friendly fragrance, but perfect for a fun night out with friends, as the name suggests.

This is an inoffensive scent for sure. There's no resemblance to Voyage, so you can ignore that. It resembles VIW or St Bart's, but not exact in my opinion (this is marketed as an original so that's expected). You get lime, musk, sugar cane, coconut, which combine to give it a sort of tropical laundry vibe. It slowly fades into a salty/ creamy coconut which is similar to VIW. I will say, at first I couldn't really pick of much of anything after the opening and was a bit disappointed but the more I wear it, the more I've noticed the dry down (and the more I like it).

I get lime, sweet sugar, light citrus and it drys down with a soft powdery aroma. Literally reminds me of warm breezy summer nights in Miami or Jamaica because of the fruity frozen drinks I consume while on vacation. Definitely a solid fragrance and any age group can be comfortable wearing it. If CH Man was citrusy and less tobacco-ish, this is what it would smell like, although I like CH Man just the way it is. 8/10 for me on this baby!

My chemistry really amplifies the sweetness and this becomes too sticky sweet. Not enough tartness from the citrus to brighten it up or lightness from the musk. Unfortunately, it just turns into a heavy syrupy mess on me.

Love this house—hate this scent. It’s nothing like VIW; people should stop the comparisons immediately. This is a synthetically sweet air freshener type of scent.
