Valley Of The Kings

I've not yet had the pleasure of trying either Richwood or Coromandel, but whatever the comparisons, I can say this about Valley of the Kings: This stuff smells like MONEY. BUT... go easy on the sprayer, as it's quite potent and doesn't start out totally smooth. There is something a bit jarring about the patchouli in combination of the top notes that can be perceived as a bit chemical. Thankfully, it does pass, leaving in its wake a very nice balance between patchouli and a creamy sandalwood, backed by a lightly sweet vanilla musk. 20-30 minutes into the drydown, you may find yourself struttin' around like you own the place, even if you don't really own the place. ;) It's strong and it's opulent, but again, only if not oversprayed. A little goes a long way! Terrific quality to price ratio. One of my AF favs, along with Egyptian Angel and Golden Rush.

This is very very nice . Alexandria did a very good job copying Richwood. I bought the original 5 yrs ago and the big 120ml 2 yrs ago. They have been macerating and are very strong now. I have more than I’ll ever need. If anyone wants to buy my 55ml, it’s 90% full . $30 plus ship. US only. I’ll even add a few samples from my huge collection. Similar to Richwood. However, it's like if you took most of the carbonation from Richwood and then left with a mostly flat scent. If one has the money, go for Richwood, in on a budget, VotK is just... fine. Scent: 8 Projection: 5 Longevity: 5 Value: 6

This opens with a nice patchouli explosion...similar to the OG and Chanel’s Coromandel. If you like patchouli, check this one out. Dry down brings forth a very nice creamy sandalwood. Vanilla note adds depth. Longevity is great...projection is average. Similar to Richwood, I find this redundant. I personally prefer Coromandel over Richwood...and the two are similar. Valley of the Kings gives you the patchouli explosion of Coromandel that AFs China Affair doesn’t...but the dry downs are close enough that makes this redundant. Get a sample of this and AFs China Affair to which you prefer.

This is a very nice quality juice that gets a solid thumbs up especially if you like Richwood by Xerjoff but not the price. The scent is a slightly tart citrus floral to my nose with a healthy dose of lemon and rose which turns into a subtle skin scent of sandalwood and musk. Overall a solid juice. Enjoy!

This smells like a classic with class. Straightforward presence of being a have in a land of have nots. Strong composition. All the same, not one of my personal faves. I like it and the way it commands attention, yet doesn't hit my pleasure receptors the way other frags do. Worth a try though.

This has the smell of a sunbeam. It's so bright and sophisticated. Choose well the situation to wear it. It's really classy. It opens with citric notes but soon rose, sandalwood and patchouli dominate. Long lasting stuff. Simple, ethereal, eternal.

It’s a very opulent, expensive smelling fragrance, I’m trying it out at home in my t-shirt and lounge pants and I feel woefully underdressed! This is the kind of luxury fragrance that doesn’t work in a typically casual setting, I feel like I need to be perfectly groomed and dressed up in nice clothes in order to pull this off. It’s a divinely crafted symphony of beautiful notes but for me it’s only wearable for special occasions. That’s not necessarily a criticism, it could be the perfect choice for the right kind of person on the right kind of occasion. VOTK is a beautiful fragrance that makes a powerful statement.

Not one of AF’s finest offerings but still enjoyable. For a much classier and more refined take on Xerjoff I would strongly suggest AF’s dupe of Naxos, which is called 1981X, and smells absolutely sublime.

This fragrance is wonderful. Very rich, smooth with a slightly tart and floral background, and a creamy sandalwood base. Very strong as well, so do not need to spray a lot.

Opens up citrusy with a heavy dose of patchouli. Dry down is heavy rose and sandalwood, smells similar to Nivea cream. I don't like it

I tried this as part of a set. On my skin Richwood has a mild patchouli opening and then dried down to creamy heavenly sandalwood. On my partner's skin it does the opposite, staying a heavy and pungent patchouli and the sandalwood coming out only hours later. This clone on my skin smells like Richwood does on my partner, heavy, pungent patchouli and the sandalwood taking a long time to arrive. It leaves a nice trail but does it perform up to or outperform Richwood? In my opinion no, yes, there is a huge price difference, but you're investing in a Xerjoff, there's a level of quality guaranteed. This clone wasn't worth the $40 for a 30ml.

Richwood; please pack your $500 bags and go home. Fantastic interpretation; fruity top, nice currant-like hints give the other citrus notes depth and perfectly compliment the nice woods of course. Safe and luxurious classic; well done. Most impressive House I have smelled so far in a decade and should keep the 'Big Boyz' (plus Slumberhouse a good licking) on their toes Already am wanting 3 bottles on my list for keepsies, wow My rating: 8/10
