Sublime Water

This was marketed as a hair perfume. I am very fond of Alfaparf Milano’s haircare range; they are used in the hair salon I go to and I love that they have a hair perfume as one of their products and I think more brands should offer a hair perfume and/or perfume to match or compliment some of their hair products! Anyway, onto the fragrance. This is a very unisex spray that gives you a hit of subdued mint and light green notes, slightly feminine and floral but this is very unisex! It does not contain alcohol so does not last a long time (I wish it did) so it’s more like a water based perfume. It is unique in the use of mint and also I find the other notes are solar and a slight wash of fruit, it’s like a fresh tropical without coconut or heavy fruits; it reminds me of being on holiday and just back from the beach waiting for your turn to get into the bathroom to shower, the bathroom with the light smell of toothpaste, faded sunscreen, shower gel, salt and clean skin. Doesn’t last very long on me but I love the way it gives me nostalgia to sunny family holidays!

I wish I could experience as much subtlety as the reviewer below me on this fragrance, but sadly, I don't. If I concentrate, possibly I get a little mint, but mostly what I smell is a vague sweetness, almost like a plush marshmallow or mochi skin. I can't say it smells green or floral. Despite not being what I expected at all, I really like it. It has a light, delicious quality and I love to catch the subtle wafts of it in my hair - and it is subtle. Don't expect this to project although it does last for hours. It's as if if you had washed your hair with very beautiful conditioner and the smell lingered. I'm someone who generally does not do well with gourmands or sweet but I don't struggle with this one at all because it's not heavy, synthetic seeming or cloying. My favorite quality of this fragrance is that I start looking around wondering what smells so nice and then realize it's this floating around my hair. It's somewhat of a constant tease. Might actually become a favorite of mine.
