Amalfi Citrus

A very easy wearing fragrance. A nice burst in the opening of a citrus & green like aroma that has a juicy tartness to it. That probably lasts 10-15 minutes and for me Amalfi Citrus goes into a slight woods & aromatic vibe with a tinge of a floral component. Very subtle but, it adds an element of airy class with deeper wood accords. This is not a screamer of a fragrance nor will it pop off of one's skin announcing you arrived at the party. Rather for me, it delivers a nice mellow clean & classy vibe. The dry down is slightly sweet with a tea like note and soft musks that actually blend in well with my skin. It's a simple citrus, woods & musk creation that exudes a chill and laid back vibe through & through. Longevity is actually quite good for me with this juice lasting close to 8 hours though in the final 1/3 it sits very close to the skin as if it were a clean musky morning dew. Projection is not its strong point, 45 minutes to maybe an hour tops but, again that's just on me. It really is a very well done chill fragrance for the laid back individual that doesn't want to be front & center in any summer or warm weather activity. If you want something that may garner more attention and will give you a livelier wear, there are others that will take you there like JV Artisan Pure, TF Private Blend Neroli Portofino line up & Mandarino plus niche quality scents like Xerjoff Torino21 & 23, ADP Colonia line and a couple from Mancera. An honorable mention to Al Haramain's Portfolio Neroli Canvas (excellent summer vibe fragrance) with more punch and arguably better or worse performance. They are all louder than Amalfi Citrus by Dunhill but, this one is the casual & laid back king of backyard summer outings and cool summer night's out. And for the money and real good quality of fragrance composition, it's definitely worthy of consideration and a real good bang for buck creation.

Totally underrated. I have an extensive perfume collection (as per profile) and for the money the Dunhill Signature series packs a whallop. This is an oily tart bitter lemon rind on sweet Neroli and a touch of greeness thanks to some rosemary. It has a very slightly soapy drydown almost having a laundered feel. Very fresh and uplifting. Somewhat reminiscent of Eau Sauvage but focused on the citrus fruit experience on a linear plain - Negative reviews can be dismissed as bargain basement hunters expecting Xerjoff performance. Has a stronger sillage than you may register - my only complaint is after 30 minutes the amazing opening settles powering away in a linear fashion becoming anosmic - though other people keep commenting how strong and good it is when you think it’s gone. Great buy, as was Nordic Fougere (also the subject of mundane reviews) for which its performance and offer is completely misrepresented on Fragrantica. I own quite a few from the series and again for the money they are pretty schmick and definitely for enthusiast fragheads looking for something very well made for not much money. I’ve reached out to some fellow collectors involved in the industry and we agree Signature line is sadly a well kept secret.

I saw a couple of very positive reviews on this and, being a citrus fragrance lover, felt I needed to try it. Have to admit the name caught my eye as well, as I’m planning a trip to il bel paese. My verdict: very impressive! The juice looks beautiful and goes on quite fresh, tangy, juicy and GREEN. Some florals and tea notes underneath and then settles in nice and soapy. It’s a beautifully understated masculine fragrance. By that I mean it leans masculine, certainly more than most neroli releases, but it’s not in your face like Bvlgari Wood Neroli, which I like but find they overamped the ambery-woody drydown. It wears pretty close to the skin like most true citrus frags, so you can go a little heavier on the trigger to lengthen your enjoyment of it without destroying nearby nostrils. You won’t smell it after 3-4 hours (others will if close by) so you’ll want to re-apply. It can’t match the Zegna Essenze releases which are the ultimate in masculine citrus (and last forever), but I’m wearing and enjoying the heck out of the Dunhill in my humid climate. As noted, the cap and bottle are impressive to see on your counter but overly difficult to work with, but worth it to get at what’s within.

If you name a fragrance "Amalfi Citrus", than you know what to expect. As the great citrus lover and collector that I am offcourse I was interested in the heavy discounted 100 ml bulky box and bottle from Dunhill. This one opens indeed with a pleasant lemon green mandarin and bitter orange. It's not a blast but very gentle and not sharp. It projects decent in the first two hours and after that Citrus Amalfi becomes a real nice slightly bitter spicy lemon neroli smell. Inoffensive and perfect for office or official meetings and that kind of activities. I also detect a very nice lemon soap accord that is very energetic and sparkling until the end. So there is some high concentrated lemon oil in this one that combines greatly with the tea note and yasmin and the other mentioned rather masculine notes. AC reminds me of Dior Eau Sauvage Cologne and John Varvatos Artisan Pure. This rather modest citrus edp feels pleasant in the fall and winter because of the vetiver, wood and amber in the rather masculine base. I wonder how Amalfi Citrus behaves in the spring and summer because the performance is not that great but I really like the smell so I will be over spraying this one for shure.

I think this is a very nice fragrance if you like your citrus'. To the mainstream nose this may see just seem like a bitter mess. Opening is a very strong blast of the top citrus notes until it dries down to a slightly floral and cardamon middle and then woody base. Reminds me of Tom Ford Neroli Portofino of course.mixed with 4711 but with slightly better performance in terms of sillage. But like most citrus fragrances, the performance is not still not great but that is what you will expect from a citrus fragrance. If you like your citrus' you can't go wrong with this one and can't wait to put it on in the summer where it wlll shine for Real.

This is very high quality, superior JV Artisan pure. It's much better, but that vibe is unmistakeable. This is actually one of the better citrus fragrances than I have smelled in recent years. I have my favorites, Frency Lavande etc., but this smells of very high quality bordering on niche level quality. If you love bright, bitter, crisp green citrus aromatics - this is a must buy, simple as that. As a comparison, the citrus notes and quality level destroys Dior Eua Sauvage. This is more on par with a Xerjoff Fiero or something in that class. Rating: 8.8

Wonderful scent! Nice and fresh. I did not detect musk, but that's not a concern for me. It's likely there, just in the midst of the other notes, blended very well. Four hours after application, I cannot detect even a skin scent. It's weak juice, but beautiful while it lasts. Knowing this, I'll carry a decant with me to re-apply throughout the day. This is one of my top warm season fragrances now.

This definitely reminds me of John Varvatos Artisan Pure. Refreshing transparent crisp citrus with a light woody background. A little less of the icy vibes of Artisan Pure, but very similar. Maybe a touch denser and more natural. Might be redundant if I already have Artisan Pure, but nice to know this is out there for when I run out. Scent: 8.5 / Sillage: 7 / Longevity: 7

Unremarkable in a good way. Citrus fresh? Check Well blended? Check Smooth character? Check Understated gentlemanly projection? Check Like a good, decent British chap of upstanding character clad in fine Jermyn Street tailoring. When standing out in the crowd simply won’t do, this is a very fine choice. You’ll smell properly clean and presentable in any occasion.

Yeah, juicy citrus. It's in the name. But where this really shines for me is the drydown after the citrus compounds have evaporated - superbly well blended green floral smoothness. Worth the current price at discounters, probably my 2nd favourite from this line, right after Agar Wood. Great summer scent, not too cloying at all but noticeable after hours.

Just purchased this and the Agar wood Signature scent after some research here and on youtube. Gotta say this and French Avenue Aether are my two favorite citrus-type scents. Good for warmer weather. Tempted to get a second bottle for backup from Jomashop ($52 approx currently) as I hear they are scaling back their cologne production.

Incredibly fresh, uplifting, zingy and refreshing scent for summer. Tons of citrus and neroli up top. It's basically a longer lasting, much cheaper version of Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford (notes are very similar across the board). For the price, it's a great fragrance.

Nice classy fragrance. All the Dunhill's I have purchased from discounters have had a Made in the U S A label on them. Interesting to me as we make few fragrances here. Great price on this closed out brand at discounters.

I love citrus fragrance. I own Tom Ford Mandarino di amalfi, Neroli Portofino and Acqua di parma. I bought this after some hype. And i have too say that this is my new Favourite fragrance. Wow, it is so good!

Lemon citrusy opening, great for hot weather. Drydown into green herbacious. If artisan pure for younger male, this leaning toward older male in late 30 to 40s. Sophisticated!!

This is also a personal favorite of mine- such a pretty, light citrus scent. What it lacks in longevity it makes up for in depth and complexity.

Very very nice fragance. It's a love. An easy 9/10. Now, I'm waiting for Agar Wood from the same line for this fall/winter.

Continuing my time with Dunhill's Signature Collection, I now move from the cool, icy atmosphere of Nordic Fougère to the sunlit shores of Amalfi Citrus, trading Nordic fjords for the bright, coastal warmth of the Amalfi Coast. Where the previous fragrance leaned into crisp, cool, airy freshness, this one suggests a shift toward something more radiant and uplifting, built around clarity, vibrancy, and that effortless Mediterranean brightness. The name alone evokes images of citrus groves, ocean air, and sun-soaked landscapes, setting the expectation for a fragrance that prioritizes freshness and refinement over depth. Let’s see if this one truly captures that sun-drenched citrus glow once it hits the skin. Opening: The opening is citrusy, floral, and aromatic. The primary notes I get are lemon, neroli, mandarin, and green tea, with lemon and neroli leading the composition. Lemon immediately takes the forefront with a sharp, bright, and zesty burst of citrus that feels crisp and energetic. There is a subtle aromatic bitterness present as well, likely coming from the bergamot, but the overall impression remains distinctly lemon-driven. Neroli follows closely, introducing a clean white floral note with a distinctly soapy and solar quality that adds a polished and refined freshness to the opening. Supporting these, the mandarin notes, both green mandarin and mandarin orange, layer in additional citrus nuance. Alongside it, the green tea becomes more pronounced, offering a soft, green, and slightly powdery aromatic quality that adds a calming, almost serene character to the dry down. Lemon shifts into a supporting role, contributing a gentle tartness and brightness that helps lift the composition without dominating it as it did in the opening. Finally, bergamot blends seamlessly into the citrus accord, reinforcing that subtle aromatic bitterness and adding a touch of refinement. The result is a smooth and airy continuation of the opening where clean florals and soft aromatics take the lead, supported by a restrained citrus brightness. Performance: Projection opens at a strong level, reaching out to about five to six feet within the first hour and establishing a noticeable presence. When to Wear: Amalfi Citrusy is best suited for spring and summer, where its bright, clean profile can shine in warmer conditions. The fragrance feels most natural during the daytime, when its fresh and uplifting character aligns with lighter, more casual settings. It works well for everyday wear and is particularly well suited for the office, where its airy and unobtrusive presence feels polished and appropriate. However, its light and refreshing nature makes it less ideal for special occasions or formal environments, where a fragrance with more depth and presence would typically be preferred. Blind Buy: If you are a fan of fragrances in the style of Tom Ford Neroli Portofino or John Varvatos Artisan Pure, Amalfi Citrus will likely feel familiar and comfortable, making it a fairly safe blind buy within that category. The scent profile stays true to that citrusy, floral, and slightly soapy DNA without introducing anything particularly challenging or unexpected. For those who are unsure about that style, however, sampling is recommended, as this type of bright neroli-forward composition can be somewhat divisive depending on personal taste. Final Verdict: Amalfi Citrus closely echoes my experiences with Tom Ford Neroli Portofino and John Varvatos Artisan Pure. Neroli Portofino is a fragrance that never quite worked for me, largely due to the “bug spray” quality that I and many other people associate with it. Artisan Pure, on the other hand, was far more enjoyable thanks to its stronger emphasis on citrus over florals. Amalfi Citrus falls somewhere in between the two, resulting in a fragrance that I can appreciate and enjoy, but not one that fully captures my attention. I will say that this is the most unisex-leaning fragrance I have experienced so far from Dunhill's Signature line, and the performance is respectable for this type of bright, citrus-driven profile. It successfully captures the feeling of its namesake, delivering a clean, sunlit freshness that feels true to the Amalfi Coast inspiration. That said, while it is well executed, it ultimately does not offer enough distinction or personal appeal for me to justify seeking out a bottle. It is a solid and well-crafted fragrance, just not one that I feel the need to add to my collection. Just got this in the mail, and I'm disappointed but only slightly. From the description I got from others, I thought this was going to open with a bright and juicy citrus, but the citrus is actually very dry and somewhat sour. Then you get an overdose of neroli which gives the scent a strong white floral and green soapyness. I'm surprised no one has made this connection yet, but it smells almost exactly like Irish Spring soap. Before I encountered this fragrance, I thought Mugler Cologne was the closest thing to Irish Spring soap, but Amalfi Citrus took it to another level. In my opinion, if you took Mugler Cologne and combined it with Prada L'Homme L'Eau, that's pretty much what Amalfi Citrus smells like to me. It's natural-smelling citrusy white florals with a green undertone and some light musk. That's not to say this fragrance doesn't have its own character and depth though. Thanks to the combination of green tea and amber, there are many layers to the dry down which is a trait you normally only experience with niche fragrances. You pick up something different every time you go in for a whiff, and I give high praise to fragrances that are able to achieve that. There's also something sweet in the dry down that gives off a Lemonhead candy type of vibe. That might be my favorite part, but, at times, that same note can come off as Lemon Pledge if you get too close. I tend to judge fragrances based on their smell and not performance, but I can definitely see this one being a weak performer if that matters to you. Citrus fragrances are notorious for having poor performance, so that's just something you're going to have to accept. If the citrus was more juicy off the top, this would be a Must Buy recommendation for spring and summer, but due to its sour and soapy nature, I can only give this a strong Must Try recommendation for people looking for a citrus fragrance with other nuances. Overall Score: 8.75/10 The scent is more complex than it initially appears, but the opening is not something that will excite most people. I'm very glad I have this in my collection, but if you miss out on picking this one up while it's available, just go get "Under the lemon trees" by Maison Margiela. I think it does the same thing but maybe just a little bit better.

Going to date myself here. This reminds me of Hai Karate. The 60's and 70's after shave that had the tagline "Be careful how you use it" It had , best that I recall bergamot, lemon, heliotrope and some musk. Probably some more things, but I was a kid when I got a bottle at a discount store that sold dented can items and the black wellington boots I got every year (a size too big so I could grow into them) before school year started. I had a couple dollars saved up, smelled it and talked my mom into letting me get it. But to the review, when I sprayed this one, it all came back. This Amalfi Citrus could have come from the 70's. It has a barbershop vibe to it. I like it and mostly wear it around home when I feel nostalgic for the old days. It lasts a few hours. I like this, but people who want something longer lasting may not. It's maybe comparable to a Varvatos blend in longevity and projection. It would project 1-2 hours and you can sort of smell yourself for 4-6 hours when you move around. something good for the office when you have a meeting in the conference room coming up and don't want your cologne to be what people remember after the meeting. Side note: If I ever found something that smelled like Burma Shave that would be great.

Very much reminds me of Creeds ‘Royal Water’. Citrus and musk basically. It lacks the mint of Royal Water, but gains a little neroli, so they’re not identical just similar. Starts out very much citrus dominant, quite sharp and a little sour but in a good way. As it dries down the citrus remains, albeit more subdued and you notice a hint of neroli. However this is not a neroli fragrance as such so don’t think your getting that as you will be disappointed. Dry down is a nice clean musk, over the now soft citrus with neroli shyly hesitating in the background. Not a beast by any means but great for casual and office for those who prefer to whisper not shout. Safe blind buy (if you must) for those who like this scent profile but only if discounted to below or around £50. It lasts several hours. I won’t state specifically as it will vary from person to person, but it’s certainly not only 30 mins or as much as 8 hours. It does however become soft and gentle after an hour, maybe two. Ignore posts claiming extreme ends of longevity, they are simply untrue. Sloth.

This opens with a bold bitter citrus reminiscent of a bitter yellow grapefruit. The opening is not synthetic at all. Later a classy floral citrus dry down replaces the bitterness, still with a bitter citrus grapefruit smell. At first I was turned off by the bitterness but I like it more and more as I have worn it. I put this into my rotation in the bold citrus category b/c of its differences with others on this list: Silver Mountain Water (Bold Citrus Lemon), and Versace Eros Energy (Bold Citrus Orange). Like I said, this scent grows on you. The longevity could be better, but in terms of citrus scents it does well (Not many of these ever reach beast mode)

Opens with a very strong citrus. Struck me more as lemony than orange or grapefruit. Very fresh and does not smell synthetic at all. My first thought was oh, another Xerjoff Fiero. But no, as Amalfi dried down I got more of the light florals combined with the woody notes. Very pleasant and refreshing. I will definitely be adding it to my summer rotation. I tested Amalfi Citrus on a very cold day (subzero) and was expecting poor performance. It actually wasn't that bad. Longevity was a good 6 hours with only average projection. It will certainly perform even better when I wear it in summer.

Dissapointing. Not really citrus and neroli so much as it is rosemary and cyprioil. Initially very similar to Dunhill Century, which is a cyprioil bomb. Dry down is a bit more refined, the vetiver and neroli coming thru ever so slightly, but still over powered by the strong lemon. Really wish it had more of the fresh citrus, bitter citrus, neroli and jasmine notes, with a vetiver backdrop and dry down, but not to be. Overall, just ok, nothing really special at all, 100% for hot, hot weather, and a bit on the younger side.

If this has performance to match the scent then it would genuinely be one of the best summer scents EVER. It’s so beautifully refined and smooth. It’s genuinely a Niche level fragrance and is part of their signature collection for a reason. I get about 4-5 hours performance with the first 1-2 hours of projection. After that it’s a fleeting skin scent. This has now been discontinued so I would highly suggest you stock up while there still tons in circulation.

I really like heavy glass bottles, so I like the bottle pretty well. However, this is a very weak performer, and at the supposed retail price of $100 or $150 or whatever, I would tell you that this is a very bad value. Right now, you can get these for around $60, and it still has pretty weak performance at that price. But it still smells fine and is pleasant.

Hot summer night. The air thick and close. A swim in the moonlight. Dry off and to bed. Three or five healthy sprays of Amalfi Citrus and lights out, a silent overhead fan moving the air. Citrus sweet and bitter. Green jasmine tea, and a long clean soapy dry down. I wouldn't wear this to work, but I like this fragrance for summer weekends.

Tart zingy citrus from the start. The opening, for a citrus scent, does last close to 2 hours for me. After it's a closer to the skin vetiver citrus mix with some amber. Quality of the fragrance is fantastic. Most online retailers have this at an amazing price. Def Full Bottle Worthy... Enjoy!

This starts with a very tart bitter citrus which I quite enjoy. That stays maybe a half hour. Next phase is much softer and kind of nondescript blending of musk floral and wood. Longevity about three hours. I wouldn’t buy more than the sample but I enjoyed trying.

Very soft, smooth, and settle citrussy and aromatic fragrance. Silage and longevity are both below average. This needs to be stronger. It has a super heavy bottle. You cannot carry it around to reapply. But it smells good while it lasts. To me this is very unisex.

I don’t know what kind of fakes people below me bought on eBay, but this perfume is actually really good. For a summer scent, 4–5 hours of longevity with moderate projection is more than enough.

This definitely comes across as a lighter more citrusy Icon. And I'm all for it. Can't speak for perfomance yet. But it seems decent. All in an solid scent. And love the bottle design.

It’s nice. My first Dunhill, I was expecting something greener/sweet but it’s very masculine and different. Something to wear during summer, spring or maybe fall. 👍

Very sharp and clean citrus floral. Mature, not playful. Even though it’s citrusy I wouldn’t call it sporty. You’d wear this to be taken seriously.

Mont Blanc Explorer?....are you kidding? At no level or stage does this share anything with MBE other than they are both a fragrance.

#531 in my "Tour de Fragrance" So far I am as impressed with the Dunhill "Signature Collection" as I was unimpressed with the "Icon" series which was very humdrum and not at all iconic. This is slightly more potent than EDTs Bvlgari Aqva Amara or Dior Eau Sauvage, also very neroli forward fragrances like this, as are Versace Pour Homme, Acqua di Gio, but not as sour and astringent as the ADG. I you like neroli and don't already have a citrus-neroli freshie for summer that is not sweet, this is the juice. If Varvatos Artisan Pure had a ton of neroli added it might smell like this, but it doesn't. As a long time fan of Dior Eau Savage I concur this is similar enough to be a replacement, and at $55 it's way cheaper than the Dior. So if you're looking to avoid wasting money (as all smart consumers should be) this is Dior Eau Sauvage for half price with better than the EDT performance of Eau Sauvage. So when my bottle of Eau Sauvage runs dry, and it's getting close, I'll replace it with this. Maybe business wear for just a day at the office, but I wouldn't wear this to high level meetings or for formal wear. Spring and Summer, daytime casual wear for the beach, even gym wear. Very versatile.

Performance was very underwhelming specially in terms of projection maybe the longevity was ok but I had to dig my nose to smell it. I did not really know how this smells in the air. I over sprayed & still got the same experience. The scent itself is nice & uplifting but the very limited projection ruins the overall experience.

Very lemony feel to it and its quite refreshing scent I had a few mls left in a bottle from my family to try, I'm quite unsure if i will buy it as i find it okay at best, personally i would not wear it but that's just me. Silliage is mid, Not that long lasting and sticks to the skin just an okay green fresh scent

Citrusy 4711 opening with a clean almost pool chlorine (in a good way) dry down. I wonder how long it will last... Icon is still the winner here.

Soapy. Generic. Agar, Egyptian Smoke, Sandalwood are more interesting.

This is surprisingly a great citrus scent that actually performs, bitter orange, neroli and vetiver are quite prominent here, it's abit bitter "orange leaves kind of bitterness". I recommend it for hot, humid wheather, not cool springs. It cuts thru the heat and humidity and shines, the more you sweat the better it gets. Suitable for day wear, at the office or getting stuff done. Can be dressed up too. Not a generic citrus profile. Allow it to macerate, it will shine brighter and stronger. I dont see strong resemblance to artisan pure. Shares only the neroli aspect with Tom Ford NP, but this certainly performs better and is more "Beafy". and not as zingy or sparkly as NP. Longivety is above average or moderate especially for a citrus fragrance. I'd say it's long lasting. To my taste it's the best in the line. If you want a semi bitter citrus scent that smells natural and actually performs, go for it.

A very well done citrus perfect for warm weather, described by Persolaise as “sunshine in a bottle” and I couldn’t agree more. Refreshing and rindy with a nice drydown. I can’t vouch for the similarities with Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino as I’ve not smelled that! This has to be one of the rare perfumes I’ve tried where I can actually detect most of the notes. The citrus and neroli radiate off my skin beautifully while the cardamom and jasmine stay closer, mixed with the light touches of the Vetiver. I own a few citrus scents and thought this might be a bit samey but it stands out on its own. Very nice! Not a huge fan of the bulky bottle and cumbersome cap however, but that’s a minor criticism.

I had hopes but this is not living up to them. Got it for 70 bucks so i would be pissed if i payed 150 (advice never pay heavily for light citrus scents). I like Dunhill and their style. I like that this is classic gentleman, I picture a guy who was 20 years old in 1978 showing up in a white shirt at a function wearing this. This is dry citrus neroli, but note it is like 70% neroli and not much else getting to shine. I can’t smell the vetiver or rosemary for example. I see what people say about Artisan Pure, but this is actually also like Morillas offbeat release Gucci Guilty Cologne. Anyone in Stockholm and want to buy for a very cheap price? Hit me up.

Just a quick comment. I will prefer a cheaper version of a more expensive brand when possible. (For instance, I prefer Detour Noir vs Layton) Dunhill Amalfi Citrus is often compared to John Varvatos Artisan Pure. but Dunhill Amalfi Citrus is so superior to John Varvatos Artisan Pure that the extra money you spend on Dunhill is well worth it. Amalfi Citrus is a little better in virtually every category one would rank a fragrance, except for price; and the difference in price really isn't that big.
